The inside is so beautiful, there are a lot of chairs for the audience/spectator's to even there is so different doors out there where you be confused about the entrance at least you still will be in .

The theater is beautiful, the bathrooms were small for the audience size, but it was doable. The issue is the feeling of safety in the neighborhood and the parking. The area felt a bit empty and we were not completely comfortable. There was a building next door that was empty.

Love the details of the architecture. Reminds me a bit of scaled down Radio City Music Hall. Not quite sure about all the posters of former Mayor Ken Gibson in the entrance hallway. He was Mayor decades ago when I went to college at NJIT.

Went to soul line dancing for the first time. It was amazing. I loved it. The instructors were great and the other dancers( beginners, intermediate, and advanced) were all nice. Its held once a month, they had food, beverages, vendors. The flyer posted was handed out for other events.

It seems as though the building has been neglected, my seat was on the balcony, first row..... what a knee killer, seats are very compact, notwithstanding; the experience of being in such an awesome place where all the great performers once mesmerized audiences was amazing. I went there to see the the McDonald's Gospel Fest, it ran late into the night, but it was worth it. A good times was had by all.

Marie Widley Dance Studio in East Orange have their annual recital at Symphony Hall every year. The performance are ran very smoothly. On hot days, Symphony hall accommodates the patrons with air conditioned halls. I always have a great experience while there.

Newark Symphony Hall is an iconic place in the city of Newark NJ. Anyone who was anyone in the music industry had a show there. Its architecture is fantastic and has stood the test of time. Nowadays it needs renovations but for the occasional show , plays and graduations it's a nice upscale place to go.

A beautiful and historic space. Attended a wedding there and both the main hall and the reception space downstairs were amazing. Great wedding venue. it can accommodate a large crowd too.

Theater is lovely, needs an upgrade but I guess it’s an historic building so it serves its purpose, even though we didn’t get to see the show because the venue canceled

We saw the Vice Ganda show on 5/17. The ticket booth is a few doors down on the right(if facing the Newark Symphony Hall). I forgot our tickets back in Albany, NY so I switched to will call using the Ticketmaster app. Pickup was easy with valid driver's licence. The ushers were nice and the hall is not massive. The seats were ok, but I pulled a muscle earlier in the day so sitting for 4 hours was uncomfortable. Legroom is not great. (I'm 5'5). All in all a good time.

Could use some updating. The place has been the same since I was a child, and I'm 47. Carpets are not even clean. The deep red looks really dark and blackened in some areas.

It's ok. It needs to be renovated. We (the McDonald's Super Gospel Choir) sing there sometimes as well as other enrertainment such as Hezekiah Walker, Melba Moore & The Dutchess of Gospel Cissy Houston to name a dew.

Newark Symphony Hall is in need of Renovations.....The City of Newark,NJ should be able to help fund theae most necessary Renovations.....the walls and ceilings look.as though they are about to fall apart. This is an Historic Building that still have events taking place,but parts of the building really are in dispair! Also the surrounding areas around the perimeter of the building also needs to be cleaned up!.....I was was disappointed with the building and the area......the shows that took place there where amazing alot of hard work.with all people.involved!

I have fond memories .. as a young girl I was in an accordian concert on stage with Major Music studios (Circa 1956?)... then on the tv show Junior Frolics....then tv show Uncle Floyd show maybe 1982. Wish we had it on video .

A cultural landmark in Newark's Broad Street area that could use an interior upgrade. Event paid parking is available directly across the venue but impossible to cross the street without vehicle traffic control by city police. Loading dock entrance is on Chestnut Street.

How can you improve? The ballroom next door needs remodeling the walls next to the ladies!? omg! the ladies room is a mess, the carpet is dirty and old...hell everything needs to be gutted.

Soul Line dancing on every 2nd Friday is the highlight of my month. I enjoy the outing and I cant beat the price of $5 or $8 for 5+ hours of fun.
