My grandsons first birthday party was in the second floor venue. The space was amazing, there was room for a dj, a HUGE blow up play area with ball pits(rented separately) about 20 tables and I think like 50 people n there was still alot of room to walk around, hang at the bar up front, kids had room to run n play and my grandson was getting driven around in his remote Bentley with plenty of space! It was alot more space then I really expected. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it for any party or gathering your planning.

The Loftlife venue definitely deserves 5 stars! The venue exceeded my expectations! The layout is perfect & the staff was great. I rented 53 Edison place & I must say I was beyond satisfied. Great space to host a party or event. I came here for a wedding in February, there was a parking lot a few doors down and even in heels the walk was not bad. The venue was very clean and fresh, bathrooms and all. The event used up and downstairs. This review is based solely on the visuals of the venue not the wedding as that was a whole other situation. If I needed some space in this area I will absolutely consider this and recommend it to anyone who asks. I could not tell if there was Loft Life staff there on account of the wedding guests and when we needed something we spoke the the wedding party not the venue staff. Certainly a space worth considering !

Smaller venue great for bridal/baby showers, birthday parties, etc. I recently attended a wedding here. Loved the industrial feel/exposed brick. Large bar area and upstairs was roomy. Only one co-ed bathroom for a wedding? That's the only part that sucked!

I had my baby shower at the venue and it was truly everything I wanted. Working with the venue made everything easy and smooth. The owner was very nice and easy going with us. This places provides everything you can need from a beautiful bar, refrigerator, modern bathrooms, stage, classy chandeliers, tables, chairs and beautiful brick walls. It has a city loft feeling and it is in a great area. I would definitely recommend this place and would certainly have an event here again.

Excellent venue! My family and I had a great time this weekend and the whole process was very smooth from booking to setting up for our party. Al, the owner describes his location as a blank canvas and that is exactly what it was, we were able to make it our own. Located right across from the prudential center the location is very safe and there is parking lots all around. I can’t wait to host another party there!

Awesome venue!! I held my company’s signature launch event/Wellness Sip & Shop at the 53 Edison Place location. The day that I met Al to take a look at the venue to see if it would meet my visionary needs, I fell instantly in love with the place. It’s an awesome spot for a nice small company event. All the right audio/video needs, very chic environment, very clean, with a beautiful bar area! I will definitely plan to host another event there in the near future.

We celebrated my daughters 1st birthday here last weekend and hands down this is the best venue I have ever dealt with. Al, the owner, is super helpful and so easy to deal with the venue gives you that upscale NY feel while still staying local and reasonably priced. The venue was given to us clean and sparkling! There is a state of the art light system set up along with TV, projection and sound system. Will definitely be having another event in this beautiful space. Also can't wait for Loft Life PT 2 right next door 🙌. Al is doing big things.

I held my wedding here at 53 Edison Pl and all of our guests truly loved the space ... really beautiful and spacious. BLACK OWNED which is a great benefit!! The only hiccup was that I paid for an AV package and the TVs were not rendering our photos properly. I asked a few times to meet with the AV tech and do a check of the system before our big day, but that was never arranged. Definitely an awesome place to host parties, but don’t spend extra on package add-ons like AV; it’s just not worth the additional funds.

This was first time ever having a party at a venue and loft life made everything super easy and stress free. The place is so beautiful and modern that I didn’t even need to do much decorating, the sound system throughout the venue adds a great touch which makes it easier for djs to travel without speakers. This place is BEAUTIFUL! The owner, Al Lewis, is super helpful. He worked around my work schedule to meet us and give us a tour of the place. He was always available when we had questions all the way up to our event. We had my sisters graduation party here. They give you two hours before the event to set up. He was there on time and helped us bring up our decor and dj equipment. Everyone was impressed by the space. Its super clean too!!! I def recommend having your event here. It has the perfect NY style loft look and Al the owner will make sure your event goes off without a hitch.

I celebrated my birthday at Loft Life and it was AMAZING!!!! Al was amazing, professional and great to work with!! The vibe of the venue was dope!!! The venue was perfect for our event we had in September! The owner was nice enough to show the venue on such short notice prior to us booking the event and we immediately booked after. The owner is very professional and gave great direction in regards to the space to ensure that our event ran smoothly from start to finish.The venue itself was spacious, modern and well kept. I wish I could give this venue more than 5 stars because the level of service I received cannot be matched anywhere! Booking with Al is seamless, I was able to schedule a walk through with Tanasia who was my onsite coordinator and when I say she was phenomenal! The space itself is able to be transformed with just the minimum. You won’t find another events venue like Loft Life Venue. Imagine not needing to go into NY but still being able to receive that luxe Manhattan feel of sophistication and class! I want to thank the Loft Life Team for making my magical moments even more magical.

I’ve hosted two large events at both locations and I’ve attended one event as well. loft Life is an affordable and reliable location to host. The owner is a pleasure to work with and very helpful when it came to his opinion on our set up to maximize space. Yes parking can be a bit of an issue depending on the day of the week but so is any other New York style location. People will find parking and they will attend. Love Love Love this place and I look forward to doing more business with them.

This Venue is one of a kind! I have never seen anything like it! It’s so modern, it’s beautiful! The space is decent. Al was very attentive, responded to all questions and messages in a timely manner. The only issue I had was that some chairs are broken which of course made it unsafe for guests & parking was a huge issue for guests as well, Morris ave is already a busy street itself! This venue would def. be a perfect pick if parking wasn’t an issue! Other than this we had a great time, the venue looked beautiful with my decorations!

The location is perfect, close to Penn Station for my family that didn't feel like driving from Ny. Al was amazing to work with very professional. I enjoyed this place very much. My best friend had her wedding there on New Year's Eve and I had my daughter's sweet 16 there in February. It's a loft space so you can decorate it to your liking. Any colors you want to use, fit in with the building. Tables and chairs were included in the price but you do have to pay a little extra if you want to take advantage of his selection of tablecloths and chair covers. That wasn't a big deal. The place has a thermostat so if you're too cold, you can turn up the heat and if you're too hot, you can turn up the air. The bathrooms were neat and clean he had plenty of garbage cans and bags for us to use to clean up. The owner was very professional and kind. We paid half up front, and we gave him the second half the morning of the party. A lot of places don't allow you to do that. But again, he was professional, generous and kind. We used his party lights, which again, you can use for a small fee. But everything that he has, sets the perfect tone. I would book this place again because I know what I'm dealing with and again, the owner is very professional. We had so much fun at my daughter's sweet 16 that I even purchased an extra hour. The only thing some people may not like about this place, is that there is no elevator. It's on the second floor and the stairs are kind of steep. There's also nowhere to really Park. So if you're going to come, try to carpool, take public transportation, because he is near buses and the train or take an Uber.

WOW Beautiful rustic theme venue!! I gave my love a 40th SURPRISE Birthday party and it was absolutely perfect!! The owner Al was extremely helpful and patient with my constant phones. The venue is in a good location and very affordable. Al can rent you everything(table clothes, chairs covers, uplighting etc) with you having to go different vendors. Definitely will recommend this venue

I threw a dinner party here! First off, this place has an amazing feel to it. It’s perfect for almost any type of occasion. It’s very clean, spacious, and overall cool to look at. It has this awesome NY city feel to it without having to pay a NY price. The owners are pretty accommodating and very nice as well!! The location was perfect, the hall was beautiful/modern (loved the exposed brick and wood), very clean, spacious, and the price was very reasonable. Loft Life hosted my college Graduation party and it was great!! Simple & easy! Super accommodating! The only thing I would say is check if the Prudential Center is having an event so that you can inform your guests about parking. Would definitely book again!

From our initial open house walk through until the end of our event, the staff and especially AL was nothing less than helpful and professional. I was searching venues to have our baby shower in and as soon as i came across LoftLife with the exposed brick and the intimate setting i was sold. We met with Al and he walked us through assuring us that even with the huge guest-list we had it would be accommodating and comfortable and it was exactly that. We were in full control of all the intricate details of the venue and that is even with choosing to opt-out of the extra amenities they offer as well. Everything was perfect and the mommy to be was showered with all the love she deserved in a beautiful setting thanks to LoftLife and AL. 15/10 recommend. Modern atmosphere with a wonderful intimate setting that you honestly won’t find in such a convenient place.

The venue was really nice, my event planners (Simplistic Creations) really turned the venue into a 1920's speakeasy for my boyfriends surprise 25th birthday party and we all had a great time. All of my guests were amazed with the venue and said it was absolutely beautiful (which it was). However, I am giving it only four stars because we did run into a few hiccups. My contract had stated I would have 90 chairs the day of my event and we did not. Moreover, the elevator wasn't working and so my team had to use the stairs when it was time to clean up and that was a lot of heavy lifting and so that was frustrating and unfortunate. I also had intentions of playing a video at the party, which my event planner shared with the venue owner, but when they tried playing the video and they realized they were having technical difficulties (during the two hour time frame they were given to set up) the owner was no where to be found and could not be reached and so we were unable to play the video which was a big part of the party. Overall, it's a great venue aside from those minor details- the owner is very nice, slightly difficult to get a hold of or it may take some time to hear back but he does make himself available when need be as I do recall having had the chance to show my event planners the space after booking it. That all being said, I most certainly recommend this venue as it is affordable and its Brooklyn/NYC vibes in New Jersey (seriously, I love LOVE love the exposed brick at the venue).

I was looking for a nice, accessible venue to hold my mother's 70th birthday and retirement party because we had a variety of guests traveling from out of state and also older guests who needed elevator access. After months of searching, a friend suggested that I check out Loft Life and I was not disappointed. It was a blessing to find this gem-an upscale, clean and modern venue with a full bar set up, colored lighting, and digital access hook-up in the heart of downtown Newark. From the moment of my 1st conversation with the owner, Al, and the great customer service that I received, I knew I found the right place. All of our family, friends and guests loved it...so much that no one wanted to leave at the end of the party. I had planned to throw my husband's 40th bday party here but COVID ruined that...but will definitely host another party here again!

This is a great space for events, the owner was very friendly, and helpful. Bathrooms were clean and kept very sanitary. Has a food preparation area and sink. A couple cons , parking due to it being in a busy "downtown" area. It's not wheel chair accessable so wouldn't recommend if you have a number of seniors. They will have to climb 2 flights. Besides that I would recommend.

Booked this location for my 35th Birthday and I recieved outstanding accommodations. The brick detail gave my night that modern yet edgy feel that I wanted. Spacious enough but just right for my intimate dinner party and very very clean. Owner/Management was very hands on. Got amazing feedback and inquires. I suggest you book this location ahead of time. I see why it stay booked up

The venue is spacious and gorgeous. I would recommend the space to friends and possibly use it again if there's a room on lower level to accommodate impaired and or disabled. Other than the steep stairs and parking issue the venue is great!

Al is a very nice and helpful person. He worked really hard to provide everything I needed to make it happen. The space was just perfect and it gave off a New York City vibe. Everyone had a great time, not even 1 complain. Another plus was the kitchenette with a refrigerator to put drinks and a freezer for ice. Clean up was very easy for me. From now moving forward Loft Life is the perfect venue for me, my friends and family. Thank you so much Al, wish I could give 6 stars.

There are so many things to be said about Loft Life. One word that comes to mind is Spectacular. The location is perfect, the ambiance of the inside is just beautiful. The rustic look makes it the perfect place for any design/decor idea to come to life. If you choose to keep it simple your party will still have a great look and photo perfect. If you choose to go with over the top decor the nuetral colors will blend with anything you desire. The space itself was well laid out, you have a huge grand floor to set up tables and a dance floor, and you have a space in the back to serve food, or house more tables. The owner is very approachable, and friendly. The space was clean, there is a refriderator and sink available for food storage and any cleaning that you can do. I could go on and on about this space, but the best thing to do is see it for yourself and book your next event with Loft Life!

We had a networking event here for about 65 guests. In addition, there were vendors, a staff and musical guests. To be honest, the venue it’s self was amazing. The exposed brick opened so many options of decorations and it rustic feel added a chic touch to the event as a whole. We had them complete a survey at the end of the event and all of our guests were in agreement that the loft life deserved an A+. The only down parts were the location/parking and the stairs. Parking in the area is a quarter for 10 minutes and there were no lots to park in so ppl had to continuously feed the meter. In addition, feeding the meter meant climbing up and down the stairs over and over. At one point in the event, we had a handful of ppl say that they would be leaving because the back and forth was too tedious. Obviously this is in no way the fault of the venue and I would suggest If you want to take advantage of this amazing space and still have satisfied guests, inform them of the parking beforehand they can either A) carpool or B) use a form of public transportation such as Uber to avoid the downfall.

I think the venue is great, however it's not wheelchair accessible. For people with disabilities, the stairs are very steep. We has several people ar our event that had trouble getting up the stairs, especially since there is no elevator or escalator.

This venue is truly one of a kind! My girlfriend and I hosted our baby shower for our first child here and everything was perfect. The venue was clean, modern, upscale, perfect lighting, had an elevator, clean restrooms, and the set up was spacious. The bar is large and comes equipped with everything we need as far as fridges, space, sinks. The owner is a very well communicator and goes out of his way to make sure your day is perfect. We did a wedding and reception at the newark location and rented both venues on Edison place. We had the wedding and the cocktail hour on one side and the reception upstairs on the other side it was just beautiful . all night my guess kept asking me where did you find this place it's beautiful. Now let's talk about the staff from the first time I came to just see the place till the end of the wedding and we were shutting the lights off nothing but pure pleasure . I work with a gentleman by the name of Al and another gentleman by the name of Rasul they were always available for any questions any time I needed to come back down and see the place take measurements anytime I had any questions they were always available. So the only thing I can say at this point is go down and check it out for yourself you will love it!!!

The space was utilized so well and it was pretty convenient for us to have pretty much a “one stop shop”. I had an engagement party for my daughter Jessica and her fiance Nick on Saturday. What a beautiful night! Every guest loved the venue. So much detail was paid to the design details that the staircase, lighting fixtures, brick walls give you enough ambiance. Minimal decorating was needed, which is what we did. Al was wonderful and very responsive to me no matter what time I texted him. It was a pleasure working with him. His partnership with rentals also made my life easier. I highly recommend Loft Life! It was a wonderful experience!
