Reviews of Pier 36 NYC
Sherdene Thompson
It was really nice the views are beautiful. Took a boat ride on Majestic Princess it's not a new boat but the atmosphere was good and the lady that host was a delight. Some really great views from the boat.
The boat was clean including the bathrooms.
It was smooth sailing 😃

Took the ferry Majestic Princess from Majestic Harbor Crusies. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the various landmarks and their importance to NYC. Seeing the Statue of Liberty for the ferry allows you to get better photographs rather than on the island of the Statue of Liberty. There is also the National Geographic presentation of King Tut and Egyptian artifacts. These ferry cruises allows the visitors to also see New York City's breathtaking skyline!
V Vendemio
Went for the King Tut virtual exhibit. They had great pictures & sound but not worth $90. The space itself is huge, staff is friendly & place was clean & well kept. I'd return for another exhibit.

Pier 36 was very weird in the sense that it was a trash collection facility but the back end of the building, the dock, was used as a launching area for a number of cruises. We jumped on one of the Liberty Cruises, which was great! The only drawback was the single Porta potty located near the entrance of the dock. Other than that there is a great view from the dock! The cruise itself was also great as we caught it at an off time so it wasn't crowded. We also purchased the VIP package so we had plenty of space to relax and take in the sites!

We got a short cruise around the islands and the statue of liberty! The views are stunning and it is a definitely MUST DO!!!!
Absolutely loved this and got some amazing photos and memories.

I can’t find the words to fully describe the atmosphere of the exhibit. This is the experience that everyone should see and feel. The music, slides of the painting, the story created from the paintings and sensation of the life of the genius. Watching the masterpieces of Van Gogh animated on the walls and floors makes the experience one and the only. If anyone has a doubt, i can assure you, this exhibit is worth time and money. And i want specifically thank all the staff on the floor, they were amazing, helpful, super friendly and welcoming. Thank you for an amazing experience.

I was there for CRETech NYC 22 and it is a nice place for an event. There was no air conditioning so it was quite hot. It was raining too so that might have affected the air pressure too.
Overall liked it.
Looking forward to going back.

I had such an amazing time. My daughter and I went to celebrate my birthday on liberty cruise 🛳. The staff on board was amazing they ensure that everyone was was having a great time. The view was spectacular 3 course meal on board everyone should go at least once …

River tour of Manhattan Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge and all points between to Statue or Liberty. Drinks, food, photos, and souvenirs were all available for purchase. Please be at the least 15 mins earlier than your scheduled departure or you will be left. There's always the next one an hour and 15 mins later. They will ensure an on-time departure.
Honey Bunch
Pretty decent ride out to lady Liberty. Maybe a little too fast. Next time I'll take the ferry out to the Island and explore it instead of riding around it on a boat.
Shambhavi Rai
Amazing views of the skyline, brooklyn and manhattan bridges and cruise to the statue of liberty!! Only thing is it was too hot and there was no shade while we waited for the cruise and no restrooms around.
Vasily Tregubov
It has a lot of art and there was even some kids art. I think some of the art is for sale. We were there to see a friend and she was super nice. She brought some art from Russia from another artist. She is also and artist herself and she owns Eragi gallery in Moscow, I recommend going to visit there. Anyway the parking is very close to the building and it's 30 bucks.
Mark Capriotti
Entrance to Pier 36 is from Montgomery St. We walked from the subway, easy 10 minute walk and safe. We saw parking at Pier 36 and it was $38 for two hours and $23 each additional hour. All guides were very friendly, nice, and helpful. There are three rooms inside for the show. First two are the same smaller size room, we explored these two rooms, sat down in each room to enjoy the show, very nice. Once the show restarted again, we entered the third larger room. You have a short time until the show repeats itself. I feel we had the best view in the third room. MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE SECOND LEVEL INSIDE THE THIRD ROOM, FACE THE LARGER END OF THE ROOM AND MOVE NEXT TO THE PRIVATE VIEWING AREA ON THE LEFT. You are standing the entire time BUT it's the best and worth it. What makes this area better than anything else is the floor (you are looking down on) is also part of the show. When you are elevated, you get such a great visual and see so much more than sitting on the bottom main floor....Look at my photos. In and out 1 hour and 20 minutes. That includes gift shop time. Once you exit the building, turn right (staff member will say turn left....ignore) and walk to Pier 35. There is a nice area to sit and enjoy the sights of Manhattan Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge and the Marine traffic on the East River.
Stephen Pile
I had a great time at this event. The visuals were great and since it was spread across 3 areas , there was ample room for viewers to sit down and enjoy the event. I noticed that the description of his work was a bit on the short side and only covered certain areas of his life. Overall it was a good event to visit.
Lavez Robinson
Cruise was very interesting as well as informative. Boarding around back of building was a bit hard to find, as direction sign is very small. Otherwise it was an excellent experience.
André Nicolas
Pier 36 is a state-of-the-art sports and entertainment facility that serves as an event space for concerts, fashion shows, art exhibits, and more. A huge deck outside boasts breathtaking views of the East River, Manhattan, and the Statue of Liberty.
Cruise was very interesting as well as informative. Boarding around back of building was a bit hard to find, as direction sign is very small. Otherwise it was an excellent experience.
Aura Harvey
We went to the VanGogh immersion. It was a great experience but very pricey for a show that lasted well under an hour. The gift shop was adorable. I loved the crochet artist key chain.
John O'Leary
I heard a lot of people complain about the price. I heard others complain that the package they booked much like us, the VIP package, to get the full experience and also have a bag of take away souvenirs not fulfilled. Regardless of those commitments not being met, the artistic experience in immersion was fantastic. I’m so happy I was able to expose my friends to the exhibit. I would absolutely do it again. The staff was fantastic. Parking super accessible and easy.
Little Coqui
The experience needs to seen to be believed. I'd go back if the tickets were a bit less expensive. With that said, there are 3 rooms the last 1 being the largest and the views are incredible along with the music as they blend in Vincent's masterpieces flawlessly into the screens. Even the floors will change with colors. There are mirrored sculptures that reflect the images and the areas around them will permit viewing different angles of the artwork. The gift shop is expansive but the prices are way over priced. A yoga mat is 80.00. A 1000 piece puzzle 40.00. Check the website. You'll get the idea. It's not necessary to charge that much. They would have more people to buy merchandise with prices being more reasonable.
Parking is available for 2 hours 36.00. After that 23.00 for 1 hour. A little steep but it's at the entrance and it's not a long time inside.
Cheryl Mullenax
Weird entrance and confusing as to which dock to go to. But the boat tour was great! The guide was very knowledgeable and informative and quite amusing.

Highly recommend this exhibit. This was an immersive artistic experience. The composition of artwork, music & space was phenomenal. The facility is large, airy and spacious. They did a great job with social distancing, there was no point when I felt too crowded. There was no entrance line, we arrived early and were able to enter with no wait. Parking on site was convenient but a bit pricey at $36 for 2 hr max. Yet 2 hrs is the perfect amount of time needed.
Celes Maxwell
Starry night. My love of that painting lead my (human) love to book tickets to this experience as a surprise for my birthday. I call it an experience because it's nothing like a museum; it is art come alive, moving and living. Almost breathing.
Security is tough getting in to ensure safety and all must wear masks. Each interior room features a different arrangement of mirrors; the projected graphics of Van Gogh's works illuminate the walls and floors through incredible technological work.
As you sit and gaze upon the mirrored works, the art and color surrounds you, complemented perfectly by music of numerous eras.
This was a truly unique experience and I am grateful to have had it. The sunflower dress wasn't planned - somehow I just knew.
Wilcox Tactical
An amazing tour. Had to tour it solo due the person I was meeting there ditched me...so I got to take the tour twice. Both were different and each offered their own differences.
L. Fong
Very large. Air-conditioned. Very clean. Show was very good. Social distancing was not well enforced. Lot bigger than it looks. Thought each room was different, but all rooms were showing the same thing. Largest room was at the end. Merchandise was kind of pricey.
Anh Tran
We walked here to get on the Statue of Liberty cruise. It was a long walk and it was windy. I made sure I took motion sickness pills prior to the cruise. It was pretty crowded but worth seeing the Statue of Liberty.
GLORIA CHARLES
100% recommended, take the evening 7pm Liberty Cruise.. it was so beautiful and breathtaking 😍 loved it, visited from Atlanta …
Yosani Brewer
Very nice, great experience. Very calming. I believe the website says you can take your own chair/cushion and i would suggest it. We happened to walk in as one show was ending and we grabbed a couple benches. But there are very few throughout the exhibit. Was excited about the gift shop but it was so expensive. Bummed about that part
David H. Martinez
Fantastic! Really trippy! Spectacular way to view Van Gogh's works! Clean and spacious venue. Even at peak times, not at all crowded. Plenty of room to move about or even sit on floor or chairs and benches. Very clean, too! Completely recommend!
dawayne thomas
Great time with the family . Was a bit chilly so bring a coat. Went for the fall foliage cruise, was beautiful and the kids loved being on a boat and seeing the statue of liberty. Lack of food options so definitely eat before hand .
Amber Sherry
Nice experience, the boat rides are well priced. There are snacks and drinks served on board. Good for families.
I am
Between the interactive art work combined with well picked music to accompany all of vangogh's work. This display spoke to me being am not a avid art person but I can definitely appreciate something beautifully created and shown in such a way that it allows you to be part of the exhibit. Most importantly what I saw was all kind of people from seniors citizens to teenagers and a handful of 8 year olds running around ,but when the show started it was complete silence . Your occasional individuals that do not know the meaning of shut the lip and enjoy what's being presented other than that money well spent I left feeling good , and for the first time in a while I truly enjoyed this type of art.
Take your family take yourself but you guys will definitely love it .
See you on the flip side .
Peace out .
Dave Reed
Great experience! Loud - use headphones for baby safety 🎧 room does feel like it moves, so be aware that you should sit especially for older folks or folks sensitive to those types of feelings! We had a great time. They do have extra seats available, ask a staff member if needed. It's beautiful, enjoy!! Parking is 36$ for two hours which is plenty of time for the experience & gift shop. 👍🏾 Restrooms available, go before you enter the experience (they're inside right before you go in the actual experience). Water/soda available inside but uber expensive. They held my keys at the front because I forgot my little pocket knife on them, picked them up when I left 👍🏾. Definitely a cool thing to go see, dooo ittt 💯

It was a wonderful presentation of the best known works such as Sunflowers and Starry Night, projected on 20' walls. However, it's only 20 minutes long, and that's disappointing. I paid for the VIP service where you bypass the regular line and you get to keep the seat cushion, not really worth the $100+. I was somewhat bummed since I have an art degree and therefore had to study some of his works. I wished it was a little bit more that just projecting some of his paintings with animation on walls.
Juan M. Mauricio Bailon
Great exhibit, totally worth.
A piece of advise, you should better get there early and head directly to the bigger hall (I should've done that); this way you will be able to find the best location possible to enjoy the projection, if you wait too long then it will get crowded.
Elnaz E
Vincent Willem Van Gogh is one of my favorite painters. This amazing artist created about 2,100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings, most of which date from the last two years of his life. This exhibit takes you to an amazing experience of color, shape and light focusing on most of this artist’s famous paintings such as The Starry Night, The Potato Eaters, Café Terrace at Night, Irises, bedroom in Arles and Almond Blossoms … the way that the show moves around his paintings and the color n light coordination makes the viewer’s heart stop. I watched this breathe talking show 3 times still wanna go see it again :)
Beverly (Beverly)
I saw this last month in North Carolina. So happy to be able to see it again. Really impressed with the visual presentation, it captured that movement you see in Van Gogh's work. I watched it three times from different areas and saw something I didn't see before. My only complaint is there weren't enough chairs, so I sat on the floor. On my second viewing, I got a chair. For my third look, I walked around watching it. Truly amazing presentation and everything else. Also, there was that New York vive. NC was more comfortable and quiet. NY was electric and exciting. The presentation in both places was awesome.

Beautiful place, all the art from all over are so nice especially the one from Nicolas V Sanchez, just stunning art 😎 …

There is a food truck at the entrance of this Pier that it is to die for. Also we took the Liberty Cruise and the crew was friendly and very knowledgeable of the history of the area. 100% recommended!
Dmitri Kuksenkov
Really cool idea - a massive installation with sound and panoramic images. The video is short but well designed. However, the whole thing is clearly focused on maximizing the profit, not on creating the best experience. The sound quality is poor, and the visuals can be improved in many ways. For example, adding ceiling projection. Providing more chairs and pillows could be nice - not everyone is comfortable sitting on the floor. Overall, our feeling was that it is about 10x overpriced. What what it is, it should cost about the same as a movie ticket.
Pandoo Pydiah
A wonderful boat cruise down the Hudson River is a unique experience; especially given that it was a fantastic, beautiful, sunny day that completed my day.
Glenn
We all “know” Van Gogh….hard to get through any schooling with out being exposed. But this exhibition was a truly new and unique way to see the artists work and be immersed in an experience that was completely enjoyable. Get there as early as you can….parking is not “fun.” But everything else about the exhibit is!!
Yiyi Zhang
Very impressive multimedia experience. It must have been a TON of work to put together. However, I don't consider it truly "immersive" as you're pretty aware the whole time of being mashed up in a room with hundreds of people.
I would not recommend doing the peak hours or VIP pricing - it's overall a quite short experience and not intimate in the least. It feels like a pretty touristy / commercial experience.
Robin Cerrati
I'm not sure what I expected, and while super excited this was far more exceptional than I could have imagined. This is a must see - even for those who may not be art lovers. Easy entrance, grab your pillow seat and find a spot in one of the 3 rooms. We liked the center room with black reflecting floor where you feel like you become part of the exhibit. Just sit and relax watching this artfully colorful reimagined world of Vangoh. Be sure to walk through the 3 very large rooms for different perspectives.
Angiangell GORDON
The exhibit was nice, the art was displayed on the walls and we had the option of choosing from 3 rooms to sit in on the floor. Finding somewhere to sit for 35 minutes on the floor and be comfortable was not easy and somewhat unsanitary. And I was expecting more of an interactive experience.
Gus Guy
When I bought the tickets in March. They ads were showing many things to see. Like visiting the galleries with virtual images and sounds and having the experience of wearing the virtual glasses. When I went the in July I realized we paid just for the galleries. They divided the other things to another place on west side about the Hudson river. I had good time there but for you who is going to visit make sure you bought the right place. I think it was expensive for what they proposed to the public compare to others exhibitions I’ve been to.
M O
This was a great way to spend an hour on weekend. It is a fun way to break up a busy day. The continuous stream of art and lovely music was relaxing. It was great walking to the three galleries to experience. The gift shop was pretty fantastic too! I would just be watchful if you get dizzy easily - hydrate and walk carefully. I recommend but would skip the flex time tix.
Denys Dukhovnov
It is an impressive exhibit, yet it falls short of being truly immersive. I quite enjoyed it, but quite a few things could have been better for the steep ticket price you pay. I visited off-peak during a week, yet there were too many people walking in and out in front of you, obstructing the view despite the timed ticketing. The show and the speed of the projection itself felt somewhat rushed to the point I'd press a 0.5 speed button at times, if there was one, with the total duration of about 30 minutes. Somehow they justify selling VIP and "premium" tickets, when all it gives you is not having to walk an (empty) queue snake at the check-in and a patterned cushion that you have to return in the end of the show, if you have a premium ticket. I heard people commenting on the meh quality of the projection, which was fine with me. But I personally thought the sound could have been better quality, rather than having a cheap stock car speaker vibe to it. The gift shop had some cute merchandise, but extremely overpriced. In summary, all these little things have made the show not immersive in the sense of forgetting that you are sitting in a crowded dark warehouse instead of in the painting. That said, their ads pictured a much rosier experience than what it actually was.
Nolan Doran
Beautiful immersive exhibit of Van Gogh's most famous works set to a gorgeous soundtrack. I highly recommend a visit! Pro Tip: Get the Premium ticket which includes a floor cushion!
Heather McCarthy
Amazing experience wasn’t sure what to expect but overall great experience did think there would be more then just the video I thought each room would be different be prepared to pay 36 for parking. Overall I recommend going
Hasnain Raza
Great soothing experience to see life's work of VG on big screen with immersive moving images and sound effects. Good items at gift shops too.
Be careful of location you buy tickets for and head to that location to avoid disappointment. Otherwise you will be told at the gate that you are at wrong location and entry would be denied. Speaking from experience but luckily reached other location in time. Thanks. Enjoy.

Had a great time on the liberty 🗽 cruise to see the statu of Liberty …
Mavis Bobie Ansah
Had an amazing experience here. I went on a cruise here with Topview and the staff were very helpful. Helping passengers to board the boat well to avoid accidents and also the tour guide was great. The cruise takes you to the statue of liberty! But there are amazing things to see also. I enjoyed it!
Del'Esa Lee
My nephew and I truly enjoyed this experience!! It almost felt spiritual to be there and we saw something different every time we watched, which was 3 times!
You must see it from the different rooms, one was more active with people walking and standing about which is totally distracting, but the other room (it actually had a few chairs and small benches) seemed much more like a gallery, people sat and were more engaged.
It seemed like a fair amount of tourists mixed with locals, and the gift shop area is HUGE, with a lot of creative items that were a bit too pricey but nice if you wanted a cool piece of memorabilia.
I'm actually planning to go again!
Justyna Soltys
Absolutely stunning immersive gallery show they definitely did great job showing Vincent's work and creation of it. Definitely must see if you love art 🎨 …
The real Matilda
It was ok. thou I had sea sickness ,cos the boat kept moving, it rained so didn't have much fun , but I guess it would have been better on a sunny day.
Stephany J. Cervantes
Breathtaking experience. If you love post- impression art, Van gogh or even flowers! You will love this experience.
You walk into the rooms and are transported inside Van Gogh painting with usage of light, space and sound. There are many recognizable pairing such as Starry Night, Bedroom or Arles and self portrait of Vincent Van Gogh himself.
Great date night choice
Nicole Roura
So, so beautiful. It's a relatively quick exhibit, but so we'll done and unique. Literally every painting comes alive through digital animation. Skip the parking, as there is plenty of street parking. Just don't get tickets between 11 to 1 since alternate side parking is in effect. Then you will need to pay to park in the lot.
Daniel
The experience was me taking a step outside the usual. It was different. A great art experience even for those not that interested in art. The visual effects combinations was amazing. Would have liked more rooms of the "immersion" and but was still a nice time. Money 💰🤑well spent …
Emily N
A large warehouse for fun events! A great place to see the water as well. A bit harder to get here on public transportation
Marsha Newman
Excellent art exhibition here, as a movie in 3 rectangular rooms, broadcasting on all walls, works of art blending into one another. W some soundtrack also. Quite beautiful and immersive. Be prepared to sit on the floor tho, in distanced circles. Or ask 4 a chair, if needed.
Leigh Frances
Its a great experience. We caught the boat out to the Statue of Liberty cruise
Eric Kong
Definitely an immersive experience at the Van Gogh exhibit, sometimes feeling like floating when the 365* art projections are moving with some special effects. If you made arrangements on line make sure you note the location(there are 2).
Trung Tieu
Three rooms with the same 40 minutes worth of images and music on loop. Honestly, the third one is the best because you can go upstairs and view from above.
Ely Figueroa
The boat was super late. Waited on a line in the freezing cold. It was too packed and crowded. Had to stand, not enough tables. Very unorganized.
Yaqui Ordaz
Beautiful place to go visit and has swings to relax in
Beatrice Beard
Absolutely amazing bringing Art to Life , Everyone must all go and visit you will not be disappointed it was our first time with our friends and we were in Aww…..we will visit anytime you come to NYC/NJ
Edward JLo
The most unique exhibition of an artist's work I have ever seen. You will be absorbed every second by this most memorable experience. Memorabilia is for sale but the table book, litho-posters and designer cushions to use while there are included in VIP Pass which I recommend. Music coordinated with displays is awesome inspiring from Pictures at an Exhibition yo Edith Piaf ėn Fancais. There's lots of wonderful music cooridinated to the floor to ceiling artist's display. Totally absorbing and breath taking.
Phyllis Barcena
Nice view at night. Went here to board top view sightseeing Christmas dinner yacht Cruise which was incredibly disappointing and overpriced. Paid over $250 a person and the best part was the views and the DJ. The food was horrific and the customer service was non-existent. Overall not an experience I would recommend. If you're going to go out on these boats go on the ones that are just sightseeing and don't include meals because the meals are horrible and they're very overpriced
Nikola Janjić
Honestly, I have been expected a little bit more from the Immersive Van Gogh's Exhibition. And I must admit it's a quite pricy comparing what is offered.
Maybe some more paintings, information regarding this Dutch painter, drawings, etc. could easily improve the total experience.
However, it's a highly original exhibition with an authentic visual concept.
Raquel M. Gerardo
Was here to see the Beyond King Tut exhibit, which was awesome! 😍💖 …
Michael Brocking
Came for the King Tut exhibit. It was very good. The virtual reality exhibit of his tomb was cool.
NCSC
Came for the King Tut experience. I gave 3 stars because my partner really enjoyed it and I enjoyed the immersive aspect, but overall it wasn’t worth it for the price we paid.
As another reviewer mentioned, there was a video at the beginning and at the end. The exhibits explain the story of King Tut and the discovery of his tomb through a few big immersive video experiences (like 2-3). For kids, this is probably more cool but as adults I really thought we would get more for the price.
Parking really is $40 for cars and you park the car yourself. Crazy.
Twin Flame Images
Excellent experience, even in the rain. The captain and our tour guide was wonderful. Extra special kudos and thankyou to the wonderful security guard that stayed with me untill a taxi picked me up, much appreciated. The view ,memories and services yourvdtaff provided was excellent.
Helen M
Immersive Van gogh exhibit was certainly worth it. Very much enjoyed the art, atmosphere, music and whole experience. Highly recommend.
Izzy
Nice dock. Lots of ferries use this pier. It does get quite busy.
MAIA J SORIANO-BARRETO
This ferry was EVERYTHING. They had music, they followed protocols, the views were AMAZING. We caught the Statue of Liberty during sunset, and it was an out-of-body experience. Too surreal. Recommend if visiting, or even when you’re feeling touristy. If you’re in New York, definitely sign up for this.
Kiariladyboss
First time entering this space was today for the hard har tour / pre-preview od the Immersive Van Gogh exhibit opening in June.
The place is huge and spacious and the installation is one of a kind!!!
Natalia Contreras
Their ferry trip to Jersey island to see the Statue of the Liberty was really nice.
GEORGIOS MICHAEL
Amazing view!Thank you New York.
Pepe Recuero
Went here for the Beyond King Tut show, and we had a wonderful experience. Went there with no exoectations and left impressed. The staff were curteous and helpful, and the place had perfect temperature for a fall evening.

The king Tut immersive experience was very ii
angeleque gallegos
Little tricky to get to the back but great experience, great value! Souvenir photo are available and not expensive. Music drinks and awesome tour guide!
Sy You
Holographic images of king Tut's, no real art effects on display
Sheena Youngers
Very cool views, but not a lot of signage to help you locate your cruise ship. Folks are friendly and helpful though. The parking isn’t great, and there’s unfortunately a lot litter in and around the pier. It also feels really dirty.
Cynthia Joseph
JB took staff on cruise around NYC harbor it was very lovely event
Jocelyn Blaise
Awesome experience. First time on board, and wife and myself don't know how to swim . You know what it is. lol. Wish everyone can get there and enjoy the little trip. I'll be back as,soon as I get free time. I am a family man. I love and try the best I can to live and enjoy life.
This was a 5stars trip. NO DOUBT!!!
Woooow!!!!
Nikolaos Giantzis
Nice experience!the boat departs at 1630 and arrives at 1730.hudson river by night with a magnificent view.statue of liberty, brooklyn river and the south Manhattan fully lighten!!!

Despite the lousy weather the Mother's Day Dinner was ok. The representatives of the event were not well prepared. People were standing out in the rain, and cold. Famlies sitting in the back were almost forgotten during dinner had to tell waitress to be taking care of. I would suggest at least one lamated menu in each table, and some covering during bad weather. Does not mean we won't do it again. Photographer, Waitress, Servers were very polite and courteous.
arturo alfonso
When i boat tour ,definative need port o potties while waiting in the huge lines ,boat where fun but dirty and seats torn so dont expect a nice boat or an organized trip lol
Fariba Talebi
We had wait in the rain with no shelter for the Liberty Cruise and that was not a lot of fun but off course the view was very nice.
Ranjan Prabhat
Though it was at some hidden place due to some road construction maybe you will struggle finding this place. From there you will find a cruise which will take you to the Statue of 🗽, and you will get chance to see the lower Manhattan are and the skyline. I would suggest you to go there after noon for best experience. …
Ronald Wilson (Bronxvinylfunk, on IG)
Nice venue. Great sound system. I went there to see a movie under the stars. Love & Basketball was the movie. I like the ambience of the rooftop. The view of the east river and Brooklyn bridge. I hope to see a concert soon. Well its oct. I mean next spring and summer
Heather Wahl
Highly recommend this! Fantastic exhibit. Each room was a little different - watched the film three times, one in each room. Immersive - so fun to actually step inside this art!
Anuj Gupta
You can get ferry ride from here for Statue of liberty. I think Pier 35 NYC should be the best option for the Ferry Ride among all the piers.
John McShane
We took a dinner cruise and had a great time for our 20th anniversary.
Lubomyr
Van Gogh - exhibit, the best I ever seen. Highly recommend
KENNY
My BF surprised me for our anniversary with this wonderful tour of NYC 🗽... Seeing the statue of liberty up close was nice... I was sea sick, but it was a great date experience... Thanks baby …

I love to travel see the world and try new and exciting places
We went on the liberty cruise it was great! They showed us all around nyc and we took some great pics. Our captain was very informational about the sites. The only thing that need to change is the board did not sell snacks and drinks. They should have this information on the site so you can bring water and a snack with you other than that it was great!
Ruwan J.
the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit at Pier 36 is not to be missed whether you’re “a casual” or an art aficionado. the immersive art exhibit is shown in three interconnected rooms at the Pier 36 complex—the last room being the largest (go to this one as the show is the same in each room). checked in with ease via a emailed QR code and within minutes i was soaking in Van Gogh’s art and life.
PRO TIP 1: don’t bring any bags etc. then you won’t have to go through your stuff being searched. you can speed inside!
PRO TIP 2: listen to the audio preview link that comes with you e-ticket email. it really adds depth to what the show is about.
the show is cool, chill, stimulating, and energetic (sounds contradictory but it isn’t). the show length is about 40-45 minutes and goes fairly quickly bc the experience is so captivating. essentially the “immersive exhibit” is a visual- and sound-driven experience that submerges you in digitally projected art, animated art, and layers of classical music and modern compositions. the show is a tour through Van Gogh’s works and life without the aid of narration. it works as the experience is about delivering an experience that embodies Van Gogh’s vibe and spirit. there is no prior knowledge of Van Gogh or his life needed to enjoy the projections of paintings from floor to ceiling…though that knowledge will depend parts of the show for some. this is definitely not a “museum” experience—it is technology meeting audio and visual storytelling.
it was relatively crowded when i went as this show is super-popular, is the largest Van Gogh exhibit in the world, and is apparently the #1 art experience in the world. if you have a chance, GO! it’s definitely a starting point to inspire people to enjoy art, read about it, talk about it, and create it.
Tammy Forehand
We loved every minute of our boat tour to the Statue of Liberty.
Robert Birmele
It was ok. Not worth the amount charged. A little history and background would have made a big difference. It was very unique to see his paintings this way.
Jetsenia Suarez
This was such a great! Vincent's story is a truly sad one! I will be taking my sister to see this! If you don't view the entire show over being slightly late it does replay! Find the room that calls you most! I'm a lover of art and they even had an actual artist painting in the what you may call retail section in a tucked in corner and he is beyond gifted. Magical!
Elkay J
Exhibit what very cool but WAY overpriced for what was offered. Tix should be no more than $25 a person. Items in the gift shop were also way overpriced. Would recommend if you are a big fan with Van Gogh and don't mind overpaying.
Rick Lochard
It was good. Not great. In a world drenched with quality visual effects, the only thing that stood out to me was the large scale. I'm sure that people who are emotionally connected to van Gogh will find much more in it than I did.
Tau Pupua
It was hard to find which boat to take since there are NO clear signs. The cruise itself was not great but ok. The employees were magnificent and very professional.
Vasily Tregubov
The set was magnificent and I believe it was also for sale. There was some art made by children 😅. The is art from all around the world like, France, Ukraine, Russia, Canada, Belgium and more! We were meeting a friend there and she was super nice. She had art from Russia at number 22. She has an Iragi galleria in Moscow. She brought a fair amount of art from Russia of an other artist. They have a nice parking right outside and it's only 30 bucks! Tomorrow is the last day of the exebition.
Mike Beagan
PAY ATTENTION TO WHICH EXHIBIT YOU BUY TICKETS TO/SHOW UP TO! We bought tickets to the other Van Gogh exhibit (located on Vesey) and showed up to this exhibit unaware there were two Van Gogh immersive exhibits in NYC less than 2 miles from one another. The staff was very nice about it and explained this all to us, refunded our (pricey) parking immediately and gave us directions to the correct exhibit.
Carmona Cadet
Had a wonderful time there seeing the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit. Great art show! Highly recommended !👌 …
shalin jani
Great exhibit. Wish it was a little cheaper. Note: go to room 3. Skip room 1 and 2. Just smaller versions of room 3. Plus room 3 has a balcony.
Annette Annette
Van Gogh show at Pier 36 was beautiful. Viewing these beautiful works of art in motion was stunning.
Creative Doll
Enjoyable experience; creative, bold and colorful immersion experience! You will see each work of art with a different lens.
I M
Loved it! Bring your own pillow or something to put under your neck, so you can fully relax on the floor and soak in amazing art and music
Kelsey Ledyard Rojas
AMAZING exhibit! I've never seen anything like it. Could have stayed there the entire day. The music combined with the cinematography and design makes you feel like you are in the painting. 100% recommend.
Eona Gao
Excellent experience! I and a friend went there together, we loved it. We spent the entire morning in this show, just repeated watching/listening/enjoying it over and over!
Torres Kim
I loved it! Vincent Van Gogh is my favorite artist and seeing his work take life was amazing. It was great to have that felling of being part of the wonderful job the immersive group recreated with his pieces of art.
La Toya Lewis
I took a yoga class here it and it was ✨completely transcendent✨. The soundtrack was lovely and the visuals were some of the best immersive theater I’ve seen. We got to watch the projection twice and there was a tremendous amount of social distancing so it felt very safe and almost exclusive.
I also loved the synesthesia installation just outside the gift shop. It was easy to miss as no one was going near it, but I spent a lot of time there.
I plan on visiting again before the exhibit closes this month so I can see if there’s an different experience when I’m not doing yoga.
Megan Fitzgerald
Photographs don't do this incredible exhibit justice!!! It's an incredibly well done exhibit, and an absolutely perfect way to enjoy the brilliant works of Vincent van Gogh
Peter Eliassen
Was ok. Was only a short 15 min video and then a massive merchandise section. A visit to a museum is much more educational and interesting.
Fedor Selivanov
Cruises offered here are not bad experience. NYC skyline looks gorgeous from the water, team is super nice and boats are fine. But the Circle line offering same from the pier on the opposite side of Manhattan is way better option in every aspect.
Svetlana Villano
It was unforgetable show,i never see this kind of perfomance, you are in diving in Van Gogh atmosphere and incredible technology of light.to make the painting a live.
Jason Holloway
Really well put together show organized and clean. Wonderful environment well educated and trained staff.
Though the price for admission is fairly high and any of the memorabilia and souvenirs are rather expensive.
alden cushman
More of an immersive art exhibit based on deconstructed van Gough paintings. Wonder what Vincent would think??? 🤔 …
Julissa Fermin
This was the best experience!! Second time seeing it, and I could go many more times! Vincent comes to life at this exhibition!
Millie Caballero
The Vip Experience was amazing. Super cool exhibit. Very Immersive.
Berenice Olmos
I went to see the Inmersive Van Gogh Experience and it was great, very relaxing and exciting at the same time. It's a little expensive but it's worth every penny.
Jeremy Doran
Amazing to see Van Gogh's works brought to life. Easy to get to and parking available on site.
David L
Loved this exhibition… went there on the last showing and had it loop 1.5 times before it closed. But no crowd!
This reminds me of TeamLabs in Japan, and very well put together. Highly recommended!
Rosalyn A
Great view. Loved the boat ride
Jose L. Arroyo Jr.
Immersive Van Gogh was fantastic, it was like being inside a kaleidoscope of amazing art so perfectly peaceful and beautiful.🎨🖼️ …
Kush Rustagi
Nice experience but no walking exhibit. The vessey st one has more reading content.
Download the app before going and listen to the pre-show sound clip!
Nash Williams
As much as the immersive Van Gogh experience was cool I was expecting more. It's basically three rooms with the same music and videos playing on the wall and the floors making it "immersive". I liked it I didn’t love it. It would've been very cool to have some interactive situation within the experience. That said I'm glad I went but I wouldn't go again.
Olga Kheyfets
Huge well ventilated space for ecxibits. I visited ART ON PAPER.
Shourya Dharmale
Went there on a Saturday night, was quite crowded. Would advise to visit on a weekday as it would be much cheaper and less crowded. It is a 12-15min projection played on repeat with really soothing background music. They do not provide headphones, but you can download the audio on your phone.
Paul Prince
Art Expo was a beautiful & colorful event! Lots of interesting fun people there too..
Dan Colgan
Immersive Van Gogh was a great experience to relax and take in the sights and sounds
Chintan Desai
Super spectacle. Loved the entire experience, sound effects. And specially the art from the Genius Van Gogh...
Bulbul75
Went to the Van Gogh exhibit last week went there Saturday night.,We had a great time The whole experience take about 30 minutes ,highly recommended.
Carisa C
This exhibit was great. The art was outstanding and the story it told was phenomenal.
Artisan's Alchemy
I came here to see the Vincent Van Gogh Exhibit. I loved it! It's quite extraordinary and amazing! I was waiting 8 years for the animated art movie and this exhibit for 3-5 years. It's very cool that they turned Pier 36 into a venue space. If you haven't seen the exhibit yet, you definitely should before it goes to another state.
I came here almost 6 years ago to the pier's dock to do a boat ride around part of Manhattan with a friend visiting, see the Two Bridges (Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge), Statute of Liberty.
Shane Clemmer
Stepping into this art exhibit is like stepping into an alternate reality. The art of Van Gogh is brought to life through variation of video editing, video transitions, perfect projections, music, and mirrors. It's a great even to enjoy losing yourself into. I highly recommend purchasing premiere tickets so you get a cushion to sit on that you can exchange for a free poster of Van Gogh upon exiting. The show lasts exactly 30 minutes, but you can stay and enjoy it from different rooms/angles/areas of the venue as many times as your heart desires. My partner and I viewed it 3 times and enjoyed the entire experience thoroughly.
Yuri Diaz
The exhibit was such an amazing and breathtaking experience. The music and venue were phenomenal. People of all ages were there.
dsm619
Really cool immersive experience, definitely worth going whether you know Vincent Van Gough or not. They do a small hallway backstory on him. I really appreciated the animations and just the way it all went together, really well done. They have a romantic package, comes with chocolate truffles and lotion, don't bother it's not worth it.
Sadhana Phulore
Such a great experience! If you are art enthusiast just go for it!!
Alyssa Landry
It was such an incredible show from start to finish highly recommend to check out at least once I'll be going back again before it leaves New York
Leandra Joseph
The immersion Van Gough exhibit experience was out of this world. A must see! (This exhibit is now closed). But there is a great parklike place to sit and enjoy the weather
Andrew McKenna
Beautiful moving exhibit that was worth the price of entry. Definitely see before it goes this fall!
Alex NYC
It is a cool experience for the first 15mins it get kinda repetitive and redundant. The amount of work and tech that goes into it is significant but over all satisfaction....meh
I think it belongs in a Vegas hotel lobby not $75pp entrance fee
Maryna Su
The show was good, but just an overpriced light show. They want you to pay for parking around $35 for 2 hours, but we found a free parking two blocks away. Good event for bloggers to take some pictures in the dark with occasional Van Gogh painting.
Beatriz Alonso
I bought the tickets in Groupon and everything was amazing.!!! People who work there were very friendly and helpful to elderly people, and the view was amazing 🙌🏻 …
Judy Chung
I was first little scared by such negative reviews of Attraction4Us for Majestic Princesses cruise. But the service was good, staffs were friendly, inside was clean, and management was organized.
Jeannie Naughton
Immersive Van Gogh exhibition at Pier 36 is wonderful. Huge space, beautifully realized exhibition.
Em Cat
Went for the Immersive Van Gogh exhibition. Phenomenal. Highly recommend to any interested.
Andy Yip
A new twist to the Van Gogh experience, you don't get to see still pictures of his work, but it is probably more popular with kids this way.
Dennis Santella
The King Tut exhibit in early winter 2022 is impressive. Visuals should appeal to children. The location is difficult to get to.
Martin Bentley
Other than not being able to board the boat to sail past Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty due to security around the US President being in the area, it's a nice pier with good views in its own right.
Uri Abramov
If you are in to art this is a beautiful exhibit very clean and a great place to spend an afternoon and have a few drinks
Paul Blount
It was very cold when we went on a boat tour of the Statue of Liberty in November 2022 but it was worth the money to be able to see the NY skyline from a little different viewpoint.
Rishab Katta
The ferry that took us around the Statue of Liberty was docked here. It had good waiting space and toilets (which were not clean but well.. It's NYC). The view was pretty good and the Chicken gyro we got from a food truck right opposite Pier 36 was fantastic!
Yujiro Shibata
I could smell the sea for the first time in a while. I can see the Statue of Liberty a little too.
It soothes my mind.
Jon 143_
I think that the yacht we were on... which was called the timeless was fantastic everybody who worked on it was very professional it was very clean the music was lovely the environment was lovely everybody was just so cool and I will do it every July 4th
Thomas Craver
The immersive Van Gogh exhibition was amazing. It was shorter than I expected. But you can pretty much stay as long as you like.
Cristy-Anne Bobeck
City lights tour with Liberty, cruise was bumped up 2 hours, which was actually good, you get to see everything during the day and also at night
Andre
Awesome Dinner Cruise and Fireworks Show
Steven Perry
Weber to see the Van Gogh exhibit. Truly enjoyed the experience.
Juan Lopez
I loved it! it was my first time on a boat and I have no complaints. It was a lovely area with a great view and scenery.
Tammi Montgomery
I went here to do the kids cruise. I throughly enjoyed myself. If you are looking for something fun to do with the family. This is the spot!
Andy Renwick
Interesting exhibit. Definitely not worth paying peak prices (since the biggest attraction is a 45 min movie projected on the walls - also the 45 min projection isn't as magical as I would have hoped). I'm glad I went but definitely glad I didnt pay peak prices. I also appreciated having the floor cushion. Also you dont really learn that much about Van Gogh (maybe if you downloaded the app?)... and the best place to check out Van Gogh stuff is an actual art museum (the Met, MOMA) which actually has Van Gogh work.
Jeff Woo
We didn't plan well. Didn't realize there is a parking lot next to the venue. Overall a good King Tut event.
Claudia Reynolds
Went to the Immersive King Tut. This could have been more Immersive. If you like VR and the metaverse, spend the extra for that experience. There is parking close to the pier.
Sailor Joan
The five star is for the cruise ship that we booked to get tour to view of Statue of Liberty but forgot the name. The pier is a far walk to the subway and buses which was not really cool unless you uber (expensive).
Patrick Walsh
Van gogh exhibit was awesome. If anyone has a chance it is a must do
Laurette Hamilton
Second year for the Fairway Food festival.😍 This venue by the water was almost BIG enough to accommodate the ROARING CROWDS of strollers, bulging knapsacks, some wheelchairs and push carts interwoven with elders. Unfortunately, no where to sit ☹😦😟. Hopefully event creators were just over looking what appears to me as the obvious.
I was happy to learn about a variety of food products and drinks and energy bars and beauty products from the makers with heck of coupons and sample opportunities to take next steps.
If the venue chosen was more realistic like Madison Square Garden or Jacob Javitz in capacity... dont forget 💺 I would have gladly given Five Stars for my review.
Lisa C
Took the Statue of Liberty Tour. It wasn't bad. Enjoyed the tour. Bring cash if you want hot cocoa or anything. The ATM on board charges 10$. Ridiculous.
Olya Hackett
Watching Van Gogh's art come to life was amazing!
Peter Evans
I will say that the IBE or Independent Beauty Exchange show was one of the absolute best shows I have been to in my 30+ year career of going to shows in the health and beauty industry! Very well run, just a great experience from start to finish. I highly recommend this show to anyone either as an exhibitor or in our case as buyers. Jillian and Shelby are truly wonderful at hosting a world class event and we look forward to returning for many more in the future.
P. M. Henry
I went to see the Van Gogh Exhibit at Pier 36 and it was fabulous. There was enough space that it didn't feel crowded.
Deep Dand
It's pretty decent location with huge space and large podium!!
Attended one plus let note yesterday and it was blast!
The visuals, sounds and lights are Fab!!
GARY ON BROADWAY (AONEMADMANSHOW)
The Van Gogh hi-tech experiential exhibit is the most fascinating, unique and oddly moving show I've enjoyed in year's. This is one of the rare times I'll put EXTREMELY Expensive and Wirth Every Penny in the same sentence. Go!
Marissa DeLaCruz
Great place to get on a cruise around NY harbor.
Jess Wan
A new way to watch art exhibition. About 35 mins art show. Creative setup. Is a good experience. Recommended to come visit.
Brittany Jariabka
The one hour tour was nice. The boat could use some updates such as the upper deck door that slammed open and shut with each wave, only to be held open by a bungee cord that eventually broke. Only other complaint is to shut the loud music off when narrating about the sights, it is hard to hear over the music.
Andrew V. Pestano
A truly wonderful sensory experience. When we went, there was plenty of space to find a comfortable area to make your own and witness van Gogh's work come to life. Though immersive and detailed to the point I'm sure I didn't catch that everything, the event is limited in what it can offer. The gift shop is quite large and offers an wife assortment of items — from van Gogh umbrellas, mousepads and yoga mats. The experience was a bit too expensive for what it offered (maybe just a NYC issue). Definitely spend a good amount of time there to get your money's worth.
Donna Bianca
The kids summer cruise leaves from here. It was my daughter's first cruise and she was very excited. We cruised by the Statue of Liberty and up the Hudson. Lots of activities, face painting, bouncy house, music and cartoon characters. Over priced food and drinks but it was an amazing experience.
Carol Castle
Amazing venue located on the East River pier. Watching basketball greats !!!
Dieynaba Nduwayo
Nice staff really caring..... i love the place.. huge and really enjoyable place
Aisha Alvi
It is a small boat trip which is affordable and you can see skyline and Statue of liberty from the boat.
seshagopal Kn
Enjoyed a lot the cruise tour to Statue of Liberty...
holland meo
really cool to go to! their mocktails are really not the best though. the coconut mojito tasted like dish water, i'd recommend bringing a drink or buying a normal one there.
KwangMin Kim
Boarding place is behind building. You follow the arrow sign. You can find it.
Emily Feng
It really felt like I was inside one of his paintings.. that coupled with the accompanying music and mirrored structures, it's an experience.
Ishmail Sankoh
Such a beautiful place to hang out with your partner, friends or family 👪 ❤ 💙 I will definitely go there next time. I have so much fun With Skyline cruise 🛳 😎 😍 …
Amy Ortiz 26
What a great experience. We enjoyed it. It was so relaxing and safe. We was taking away by the beauty of it all.
SidLocks MultiHop
The Immersive Van Gogh exhibit is absolutely a MUST-GOGH! I shared the outstanding experience with my wife while celebrating her 37th BDAY. What an amazing gift... I was more surprised and excited than my wife 😂!! I appreciate Van Gogh even more now. The exhibit was top notch/A1. We enjoyed every second of the seamless presentation .. So much that we saw it twice... The Immersive Van Gogh is definitely GOOD TO GOGH!! - Peace and Power to all parties who made the exhibition possible...Respect due!!
Yhovanka Reyes
Love the exhibit!! A must see experience

Gina Sattorova
Fun experience! Beautiful art and lovely music!
Kendra Bispham
It's a nice spot to hang out and close to the water. I came here to catch the liberty sunset cruise which was honestly beautiful and I enjoyed my time.
Jose R
I went there to saw King Tut Exhibition in NYC: Very nice experience & love it!
Christopher Price
Cool experience. Creative exhibit. Nice event.
Nithya Ningegowda
The cruise was good for the $15 price. Take cash for the food and drinks as there is an extra $3 charge for using your credit card
Si Chun
Waited in line for the belated cruise for more than 1 hour under the hot sun reaching the temperature of 80. No shade whatsoever. Just a concrete walkway.
Keida Williams
I loved the King Tut exhibit. It was money well spent.
Thomas Clay
Great place...my daughter went here on a Easter cruise and passed the statue of liberty..there is actually a real outdoor gym set up near by and also a beautiful wooden swing set..the grass is beautiful
Jeff Whitley
Amazing tour of the Hudson and the the Statue of Liberty! Smooth trip great views!

Herbs For Lyfe
It was a wonderful experience. You have to see if for yourself!!
Raymond Salazar
Must see if you haven't, great exhibit worth the price of admission.
Anderson de Morais
Nice spot to take a cruiser and admire Manhattan from a good angle
Master Of Some
Van gogh exhibition was amazing. Highly recommended for all ages
Patricia Hautsch
I wasn't sure what to expect, but I completely enjoyed the experience. The paintings and the music were expertly paired. I watched the first time through in one of the smaller rooms and then again in the large room for details that I might have missed on the smaller wall section. Also, felt comfortable with the amount of people and spacing in all the areas with covid numbers on the rise.
Exstasy Creations
Basketball City is Amazing! Great Atmosphere and so far from what I've seen great staff. Everything is clean and sanitary even the bathroom. And that's saying a lot with the amount of people who were there when I've gone. Granted we are there playing tournament games so of course the best foot would be put forward. They want people to come just regularly. I give it a huge thumbs up 👍
Christine Racioppi
I had a fabulous time with a good friend of mine! Looking forward to going back 😃 …
lord pyro
Went to the van Gogh experience and it was awesome such an amazing time
Paul Winn
Van Gogh experience was fantastic. Go to all the rooms to see the difference
Last room is the best.
patricia lopez
Take this boat ride! The Majestic Princess had beer and the best views. First time in New York and this was the highlight of my trip ❣
Beverley Sims
Great sunset cruise. All staff were lovely.
Nereida
Amazing, beautiful, enjoyable, well mapped out, clean bathrooms, food and beverages available with a cafe/lounge area.
Nadia Jean-felix
WE VISITES THE VAN GOGH EXPERIENCE IT WAS SO AMAZING I WOULD GO AND C IT AGAIN.
edouard g
Van Gogh event is really worth the visit, creative team did a great job.
Kerrian Edwards
Such an immersive experience...left here super relaxed and informed in culture.
Stephanie Johnson
This exhibit is a marvelous wonder. It's beautifully done. 😍 …
sherry lail
Around the left side of this building is the boat dock were I took a boat tour to see the statue of liberty. It was great. Had a historical tour of the bay.
Richard Gonzalez
Awesome! Time well spent!!
Tom Gavin
Awesome exhibit! So worth viewing! THANK YOU to the parking group who got us a space so my 97 year old father in law who is handicapped have an easier entry!!!
Jordan P
Great spot, we visited for the New York art expo. Had a cocktail and found the show to be loaded with incredible talent.
Schafer Cunningham
Very nice building, everything is clean and is very big. I was there for the OnePlus launch and had the best experience. This building is perfect for device launches due to it's overall size and cleanliness. It is also located right in the water which gives you a nice view of the city. The only downside is the parking, I would definitely recommend taking an Uber to Pier 36.
Victoria Mortimer
It's OK, it wasn't what I expected it to be. The worst of lt all I lost a pair of my favorite earring I wore for the first time on that day
MannyZoom Ortiz
Came to see the Van Gogh exhibition. Amazing!
Jason Natland
Great place to work at night you can even work out there great views
Laurie Crowley
While in New York we took a beautiful boat tour.
Adericka Carr
Seen the statue of liberty 🗽 rode on the majestic princess , it was raining pretty heavily once we got on the boat .where we were seated we xojldnr hear anything over the intercom & no music .. my son kept accidentally unplugging the ATM because of the seating as well ..one can of Pringles $5 …
Griswold Quirolgico
Innovative, immersive, creative experience that makes Van Gogh's paintings come alive.
Welby Montalvo
What an amazing experience!! If you love music and art, this is the place to be! The actual Immersive experience is about 30 minutes long and there are plenty of souvenirs to take home. I suggest staying at the exhibit for as long as you can as it is quite a unique experience. The music and fluid art go very well together. I did a date night package which allows you to see the exhibit with a bird's eye view. Both this and being on the main floor are unique experiences on their own. Great time!
Al Randolph
King Tut was a very good show to learn his and his family's history.
rosanne palladino
What a unique experience! We went in unsure of what the exhibit would have to offer and enjoyed our time there. Beautiful artwork. I may have missed it but if I could given a suggestion it would have been to offer more information on the artwork displayed.
We enjoyed the exhibit and watched through at least two times which allowed us to pick up on things missed first time around. I liked that we were allowed to stay and enjoy the exhibit for as long as we wanted. I would recommend seeing it!
Olga Bratch
I’d like this exhibition and I very love Van Gogh💗💗💗 …
Haroon Saeed
Small but well managed for events.
Alexander Kargaltsev
Immersive Van Gogh fit perfectly on the pier 36.
Shyam Jayakumar
Let me put the disclaimer first. It's not for everyone. I love paintings, I love to spend all my time in galleries. Yes it was not his paintings but a video show and yes people were around walking taking pictures etc. Bit just picked a spot and you can really IMMERSE IN HIS awesome reactions. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was beautifully choreographed. 😍. Kudos to the team.
Yolanda Santiago
The exhibit was wonderful but we arrived during the show and so many people were crowded into the first room. No one directed us into other rooms where the presentation was showing. HOWEVER, when the presentation ended, a wonderful employee helped me to get up off the floor and got me a chair so I could enjoy the presentation without pain and showed me and my family into an uncrowded room. A very nice location!
Joan G
It's a little hard to get to by mass transit but the 2 times I have been, it was a great day
Robert Shelly
Good show. Nice music and show. Enjoyed it very much.
Ty Ru
Nice could if been a little longer but nice experience
Mary Lee C.
Be very careful when you purchase tickets for this. There are two separate websites for the two separate exhibit locations, and I mistakenly bought tickets for this location thinking it was the more robust one near Brookfield Place (they’re even named the same.) That being said, I still enjoyed myself, and here are some tips:
They check through your bag and wand you, which i appreciated. The bathrooms are large and clean.
Renting the seat was cool, but not necessary in the end; there are chairs and benches throughout. When you walk in, keep moving to the next rooms so you’re not crowded in.
It’s one projection reel that runs in 3 rooms and lasts 45min. That’s it. I loved it when the projection hit the floors, and you can tell a lot of work went into the reel, but sometimes the projectors cut out entirely. The experience is cool, but is not worth $50+ per person.
The staff was very nice, and the gift shop is cool. There was a live painter on site!
Rose Smith
It was more crowded than expected, and show was shorter than expected, maybe an hour. But it was enjoyable.
Nicole Calderone
Very very cool to go and visit. Not worth paying $100 for unless you stay for more than one show which I recommend since you can pick a better spot for the 2nd show. Each show runs about an hr give or take and it restarts. My 14 yr old niece and my 3 month old baby even enjoyed it as like it's titled your immersed and his paintings unlike another exhibit I've been too.
STEPHANIE VARNER MNERE
The place is nice, but the initial security could be a less rigid
Jenny C
Fun 1hr tour of the Liberty Bell, only $27 for 2 people. Well worth it.
Nina Garcia
Absolutely breathtaking experience. To see the art come to life before your eyes it something you must experience
Girish Bhirud
We went for ‘ Statue of Liberty’ boat ride from here..
Arrangements are limited..
Michelle Johnson
Shadow Boat Ride is so much fun!!! If your in NYC at pier 36 on Tuesdays this is the boat to party on!!! 3 levels, music, food and awesomely made drinks!!!
patrick cannon
This was an amazing experience!! Take your time and wait for seating up front. It is difficult to fully enjoy with people in front of you. I would have stayed for a third showing but it was getting late.
The music matches the visual of Van Goghs artwork brilliantly!
Victoria
Went on the princess boat ride. The tour guide was amazing and enthusiastic on anything he spoke about. Long wait to get on bus but worth the wait. Also a plus is they offer food and drinks
L Watts
Needs a restroom! One portable one with no tp is terrible. And there is not really any parking near by
Ana Zambakhidze
A wonderful place with an amazing view. Everyone should come here.
Bless Sunny
Beautiful Boat ride DJ RED ALERT WAS LITTT
Cordero Waldemar
This is the on 299th. There is another one on 300th Ave. It was a great sensorinueral experience.
Bonez
Parking takes cash. Food truck was right in the front of the entrance.
Youssef Metyas
Sunset boat trip is the best don’t miss it.
Alyssa Ashley
Went for a midday brunch cruise with some friends, it was a bit chilly but we enjoyed ourselves very much. It's a bit a walk to get to where the boat is so I encourage you to wear comfortable footwear as the ground there is not so smooth.
G Aquino
Excellent views of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges but not much else. Not quite peaceful as there is an elevated freeway directly above the pier. To enjoy some peace and quiet, head to the East River Park up north but the views from there are not as great.
William Webb
We took the liberty Tour to see the skyline and Statue of Liberty. Great place.
erika geserer
I went to Pier 36 to visit the Vincent van Gogh exhibit. It was an amazing experience.
Cesar Pereyra
The Brunch boat ride. Not recommended. The portions are miniscule, the service is unorganized and the music was awful. Won't be doing that again.
John
Was here for a launch event of the OnePlus 6T. Very spacious and clean. Also met the owner of the builder who was very nice and kept a conversation going.
Angela Wilson
It was hot, long line, but the cruise was good.
KayMonique Mcintyre
Your best option is to book through Groupon!!! You’ll get it cheaper plus you get to board first! It was the most interesting informative funny sightseeing excursion you’ll ever go on!
Rutvii
I had a amazing experience there. It was like dream playing in front of my eyes. As being a little artist, I just couldn't believe it. Art gallery, accessories, all were amazing. Unfortunately it was expensive to buy Vincent van Gogh's book and other stuff after all he is famous artist artist. But besides that it was amazing.
Edith Battles
It wasn't bad but I believe you must be into art to really appreciate the exhibit.
Nardia M
Went on a boatride here...the docks was clean...went on one of the chartered boats and got great nighttime skyline views
Luke Daur
It's pretty cool. Not the biggest fan of the artist. But the interactive portion of it was neat. I'm not sure how it would play out later in the day when it's more crowded. Definitely not worth upgrading your ticket. I have heard the one on the west side which is a smaller venue is better.
ken roberts
It was incredible experience. The perfect mix of music and colors
Dalia D
Great exhibit...very knowledgeable..a must see
Carol Walker
Nice place to go for a peace of mind. Also the boat tour guide destination..
Saurav Majumdar
Loved the sightseeing ride to Statue of Liberty and back
Matthew Friend
Was alot of fun to walk it
Louis Gerald Da Cunha
My boyfriend and I had a really wonderful time, I was in amazement at the feeling of actually being a part of the artwork itself. The music set us up for a beautiful ambiance with a little bit of melancholy & a dash of madness. 5+ Stars. Highly recommended!
Roomi Aziz
Perfect ride around the Statue of Liberty from here. And within an hour!! Great for tourists on a tight timeline.
Ronnie McKnight
This where to go for several different boat cruises. Don't park next to pier, over priced at 40$ . There's plenty of on street parking for free.
Demetrius Pogue
Excellent service on the cruise. Our guide was top of the line. Very informative
Trish Childers
Immersive Van Gogh was excellent. Parking was easy. Staff was on point.
Brenda Rohena
Great and beautiful exhibit ❤ highly recommend
Charles Stoffers
The immersion experience was fantastic. However, this version of the show is less than the others appearing around town.
It amounts to a half hour movie, 360° around, with a sound track.
So, yes, the immersion in and animation of Van Gogh's is great. You see so much of his colors, technique and methods that you would never notice otherwise.
But it's still a half hour movie. We stayed and watched it twice to get out money's worth;)
Dr. Who Time Lord
Venue is good in terms of size. However, it's not convenient in terms of access from public transportation. They have parking on premises. Parking was $30 for an event we attended. It's possible price can change per event, but I am not sure. There is not much around the venue. Not in short walking distance at least.
Monica Morris
It was ok. Not really my style I prefer a more classy boat. But it was great to be with friends.
Colette Richardson
Beautidul day loves the city boat cruise and hearing about all the history! A must do 🤗 …
Rick Kinnally
Wonderful production value although I had hoped to learn something about him.
Dennis G
A good experience. Do not bother paying any higher than basic prices. Really not worth the extra.
Ani Kashi
Make sure to get on that tour boat somehow cause it's amazing. You have to wait for 2 hours to enjoy a 50 min long boat tour.
Lilach Levy
The exhibit is beautiful and immersive. Alot to see and the details are incredible. The reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because it was overpriced and not as expansive as we thought.
Try to enjoy the big rooms as much as you can, after that there is not much to see.
B Moore
The host of our tour was excellent
She told us about the history of the area with such excitement full of knowledge of every little place she showed while taking pictures of whoever ask. Plus walk around greeted everybody with smile and making every last person on the boat feel like she invited all is personally. Drink were a great price plus food fresh and cheap.. Thanks for making birthday
Andrew Arroyo Perez
Amazing artist and beautiful experience to witness his work.
M.S. RodzAponte
The pier is under construction (actually the surrounding area). But there is access to the neighborhood
Marcela G.J.
Fabulous experience! A must see.
Heather Nehl
BE CAREFUL WHICH EXHIBIT YOU GO TO! I went to this one first with tickets for the other one! The staff here were so nice to help us, really wonderful and helpful pointing us in the right direction. I only popped my head in for a moment to be turned around, but this exhibit (in a warehouse on the river with the parking lot) did seem nicer than the other one (conveniently near the Irish Famine Memorial)! I’ll be checking this one out next.
Z Singh
Loved the ship ride to explore new York.
Sharon Baron
A truly unique and magical experience! Know before you go that seating in the 3 rooms is extremely limited and most people sit on the floor. The show lasts about 30 minutes and is on a continual loop. People leave and arrive throughout. During some parts of the show visibility in the rooms is difficult so if you have night blindness you might have difficulty until shift change.
Lilly J Huertas
Immersive Van gogh experience was amazing!
Gisella Craig
They need to have a nice public bathroom. You must use a bathroom facility before you plan to stand on line. While outside waiting for the cruise we couldn' use any bathrooms.
Thomas
Beautifull video presentation on the walls and floor with great music to complement the video. Beautifully produced.
It was a little warm in the facility, especially wearing masks. They also need more benches and chairs. Cushions are available to rent to sit on the floor, but many people are not able to sit on the floor.
ed leonard
Good place to hold a venue such as the bike Expo. Not much parking though.
Nandi Lay
Van Gogh exhibition was breathtaking.. Its a beautiful place to hangout n chill..
David Syracuse
The venue is large, clean and easy to access on foot or by car. The staff are helpful and all masked. The exhibit, though, was....underwhelming. It's really just a projected screen saver of Van Gogh's works. You get a pad, sit down and watch. I mean it's pretty, and the music is great (selections included Mussorgsky and Barber), but I just didn't "get" the point of the show. I think if have more fun at an exhibit of the paintings.
Joel Robles
Nice place and plenty of transportation to get back and forth from it.
P K
Pier 36 is beautiful. Great place to take pictures.
Nancy Marin-Rojas DDS
It's a 20 min 3D experience but totally worth the trip. Be prepared to sit or lay on the floor to truly enjoy the images that are displayed on 4 walls with coordinating music. The same show is continuously running among 3 large rooms. So you can repeat viewing it if you missed part it. The is a small fashion display as you exit.
Nyla Winning
Was most definitely and unconventional museum experience. I loved the show with all the animated paintings and interesting architecture, but I wish there was more content overall. I would have liked if there were more panels or areas in which you could read about Van Gogh, his art and his life.
Kari Brookhouse
Once we found the entrance it was great! Lots of staff to show you where to go, very clean. But most of all the exhibit was so amazingly creative. A very interesting way to experience art.
Michael Ghattas
Definitely a unique experience and well executed, but some people will be underwhelmed. It has a pleasing soundtrack and the animation is thoughtful. There's not much outside the main exhibit. Moving at a relaxed pace, you can see everything offered in an hour.
Kathleen Wilber (Katie)
Very cerebral and overall a good experience. The flow of the exhibit was not marked well and it was hard to find where to exit. The attendant was a bit rude when yelling at people who were going the wrong way out of the exhibit, but failed to say where to actually exit. I don't think I would recommend for small children as they would probably be bored. It's simply 34 minutes of music and visuals being projected on a loop. The gift shop had a couple things that were okay priced, but the majority was very overpriced (1"x.5" magnets for $13 a piece?!)
Rudy Scott
Pretty good but a bit overhyped in my view. It's a nice away to spend under an hour relaxing to the imagery and music but sitting on the floor is definitely not the most comfortable, even with the seat cushions. One of the three rooms should have been projected on the ceiling so you have to lay on your back for a totally unobstructed experience
Alex DiMeo
pretty cool experience... expensive as hell though!
Pam B
We went at noon on a weekday and it wasn't too crowded so we enjoyed but I can see where a crowd would hinder the experience. An hour is all you need. Every room showing the same thing so find a spot, get comfy and immerse! Parking on site was $32 for 2 hrs.
kenneth hollins
Very nice place the whole Pier is beautiful
ΕΛΕΝΗ ΞΥΛΑ
Perfect the trip towards the statue of Liberty but the boat was filthy and it smells gas
Tristan Maxwell
It was awesome!!!! I literally rocked the boat and the bells 😂 …
Erin Hogan
Loved the Van Gogh exhibit but thought it was short and could have included more of his works. Do not recommend the VIP access unless you are going in a Peak Time. The parking was high $36.00 and $23.00 each additional hour but, convenient.
Raghu Prasad Rao Metpally
Wonderful experience....amazing art
Isaac Calvo
The Van Gogh exhibit was lovely. Wife and I stopped here for date night with the date package. Unfortunately we missed our window and did not get center stage in the main room balcony view. However the place has no bad views or seating. Definitely a good experience and you can see the whole thing in about 45 minutes. You could also watch it twice as the experience with moving images is lovely.
Only thing I would say be prepared to find nearby parking if driving. Most parking garages where full and for eating nearby you for little Italy about 15 minutes away walking.
Jason Patrick Voegele
This is the Pier that hosts Art On Paper art fair. The fair that feels like a tawdry yet expert affair with a woman your not even having sex with. Its a spot you would stop in front of at any other time of the year and think to yourself, what a crime it would be for nothing interesting to ever happen here. But then nothing happens there and you dont really care. Life goes on.
Susie Brubaker
Event incredible. Pier 36? Questionable
Agatha C. Melvin
Van Gogh Immersive Exhibition is well worth a visit.
Anisa BK
Great space - amazing exhibition!!
TinaMarie Tarus
Visited pier 36 for the Van Gogh exhibit. Not bad, I thought it’d be more then what it was marketed as
Jaco Pretorius
You get to take the boat and have some awesome pictures on your way to the Statue of LIberty. Well worth the trip
George Truitt Sr.
Very nice water front. Plenty to do in the area, definitely good for a day trip with friend's, family, by yourself or wit your special someone.
Mich Veras
A magical experience from the begging to the end. Really recommend it don't miss it.
aziz bahh
The basketball city building is now used by the city where they stock food to be delivered to people who cannot go outside to grocery shop.
HOWLZ IFO
No vendors on Pier, so get your drinks before lining up for any boat tour
Stephan Brüggemann
We did a boot trip around the state of liberty. Such a amazing trip. Thanks to the skipper
Elizabeth Sierra
Went for the Van Gogh exhibit and to be honest this isn't a $40 worth show. The slide show last only 30 mins and there's no VR experience on this one. Also everything on the shop is over priced and cheaply made
Michelline Best
It is very expensive for an exhibit that last for an hour or two to sit on the floor. Each of the three rooms have a slightly different decor but you are watching the exact same thing. It was nice but not for the amount they asked for.
Michael Moore
You are herded into one of three rooms in the dark and see lots of folks sitting against the walls but no one tells you anything about standing in the way of others and folks just wander around while a 20 minute video plays.. When over you are not told where or what to do.. So you grope in the dark and find the exit to one of the biggest souvenir stores in the city! They certainly like to get your money.
The art was OK but I would have liked to see more about his life..
To me it was a huge tourist trap.
TM Dunn
The imagery and music were wonderful. But totally NOT worth the price. Only 1 exhibit and they didn't explain that there are 3 rooms of the same imagery. We could have been in a quieter and less crowded room. The gift shop is severely overpriced. Most items,, like the socks are less expensive at the van Gogh museum in Amsterdam. Disappointing.
Christopher Brooklyn
It's nice. It's different.. it's interesting. I liked but I guess I was expecting something else. I don't know... it's more of his art, scanned into a really good computer, animated and then projected on EVERYTHING.
With certain scenes and movement, felt like the floor was folding up. Which normally I need a good bottle of scotch to get to.
To me a bit pricey,. Parking was crazy..$36 and not even at the place for a full 2 hours.
Go if you like Van Gogh.... if you like to view a different way to view the art.. wait for the VR program.
Michael Sierra
Catch a cruise from here to see the Statue of Liberty, Manhattan, New Jersey and Governors island from the water.
Felix Herzog (snoopotic)
Also this pier is like Pier 35 but with a little different angle.
Cheryl Kastner
Did not check vaccine status. Some individuals are always irresponsible with mask wearing. The venue should've checked status. They are not in compliance with current protocol.
Approximately 20-30 minute loop of van Gogh works with movement so they develop organically. Really beautiful. Set to lovely music. Nice experience. You should see the full loop at least two or three or more times to notice different things and from different perspectives. Still an hour to an hour and a half for 40 bucks and $36 to park...seems steep. Enjoyable, though.
Basar Muluk
Could be nice for ordinary visitors although not so good for art fans. The environment makes you feel that you are inside a van Gogh painting ,but the overall quality of the animations, compositing, projections are only moderate. It does deserve a 40 $ ticket.
Pattie
Enjoyed every minute! If you are not an art aficionado, don't be intimidated. This virtual experience is for everyone. Tip: prior to your visit, take time to familiarize yourself with the content of Van Gogh's bio and art. This will enhance your overall experience at the exhibit. Immerse yourself in Van Gogh's creativity by sitting, standing and or walking through the viewing rooms during the exhibit.
Victoria Charukhchyan
Please check road signs carefully before you park your car. Some road signs are not clearly visible. My mistake I trusted someone who parked behind me and didn't check carefully, so got a ticket. Be wise my friends!
Alba Burgos
This show was incredible. The most beautiful experience I ever had, I was so excited and emotional, to see and be inside of each painting, with those intense colors and the music it was so glorious. Amen. ❤
Arthur Lavitt
Full foliage cruise very good worth the money
Luis Monterroso
Went there for Van Gogh experience, it was fantastic, highly recommended
thomas wong
Things I liked about the exhibit are 1. immersive experience 2. Access to parking as well as taxi/Uber 3. Room for 750 guests at a time
Things I didn't like 1. Long lines 2. Wait times were excercabated by the confusing 3 room layout. Folks there thought each room would displays a separate show. Had the attendants informed folks of this the wait wouldn't have been so long.
Susan Zuckerman
The show was wonderful, magical..we watched the show twice and enjoyed different visuals each time. The musical accompaniment was splendid. You saw and felt Van Gogh's brilliance and talent, in a very accessible manner.
Rachel Littlejohn
The exhibit itself was AMAZING but it would have been nice if they offered wine/beer at least instead of "mocktails". The merch was not great either and they ran out of VIP amenities before we even got through the line. I gave 5 stars for the exhibit. Hopefully when it comes back to NYC they will upgrade the entire experience.
C R
35 minute video.
Pros: Great video experience (think planetarium). Vibrant colors. Very different.
Cons: floor seating or standing. Nothing else but video and gift shop. Parking is $35. Nothing much else around the area. Do not need any more than an hour.
Sarkis Solutions
Awesome dinner cruise for Mo Mother’s Day with my daughter and her husband. Food was delicious, and the experience was awesome.
아이스자몽티
3/5 for Immersive Van Gogh exhibition. Not much for the price and super bad for those who have sensitive hearing. My ears were ringing so bad after being in there for 30 minutes (which is the whole video length) and felt sick for 2 hours.
Jason blake
Went to a Sneaker convention it might have been 10 vendors altogether.. which wouldn't be an issue cept for the fact every table was selling the exact same sneakers. 🐻 …
Fia Sutton
Was amazing, would have given 5 but we had the 9pm showing and they only showed the video loop once, closing at 9:50. When entering, admissions said it would have another showing and close at 11 so for the price, I feel I didn't get to experience enough of it. But what I did was amazing
Michael Buck
Nice multimedia presentation of Van Gogh's more well know paintings. More like a string of music videos projected on the walls.
There are three rooms where the presentation is occurring so wander deeper into the building especially to the third and biggest one.
Get a cushion if you want to sit down. The presentation lasts about 30 minutes.
John Paul Weber
This event was great. I had my hopes a little higher but no longer even disappointed. Kids had a blast also. Beware the snobs. This isn't a new artist coming out or old work being displayed from a vault . This is not a mediation room or a retreat. Do not feel bad about bringing your children . Dip thier feet in culture. They may not understand now. Thier lives build on the foundation you make .
Charles Pardo
Very good production, interesting venue, good crowd control. The videos captured Van Gogh mood and really did make you feel immersed. It seems you can stay and watch it twice because we did.
Galen Kilroy
We attended the van Gogh immersive experience here. The building is near the NYC sanitation division so the walk to it isn't great. It's accessible easily via Uber/cabs with a drop off and pickup in front. Facility itself was clean and well kept in the exhibit area.
Melissa
Went for an event. Boat staff was great. Not much to do around while waiting at night especially late but the event we went to was good
Avi Tapp
Interesting event, highly recommend if you have knowledge of how lifetime work, if not then a lot of the majesty will be lost.
Jeannette Diaz
Good tour but to quick...
Chuck Prato
One star off for price and location. Great experience.
Steve Lipp
The location is good, could be a bit better to reach and made nicer/greener, dropping some of that industrial charme. The current immersive exhibit (van Gogh) so la la. I would not recommend that particular exhibit to be honest. I'm sure there will be better events here in the future, though.
Gareth Lema
Surprisingly satisfying. By the end of the exhibit I was totally absorbed and could have stayed for a few rounds to just relax and enjoy the images and music...except we had kids to feed. They loved it too by the way.
Darlene Meyers
We did not do the Van Gogh experience but we did park here and do the city lights tour of the New York harbor. I for sure would recommend the boat tour. Our kids had an absolute blast. We did ours in the evening and we got beautiful pictures of the sunset and lady liberty. The onboard photographer is awesome and accommodated our group of 8 very well. We will do this again for sure.
Violet
Easy destination, not crowded at all, but not a place to hang out though.
Darin Holt
Took my mom on a Mother’s Day Brunch cruise at this Pier for our first outing since the pandemic. The Cruise was late leaving during its scheduled time during the windy-cold weather. Not sure it was worth the price... The menu items looked much better in print than when the food arrived plated to the table. The food was scarce and not very appealing to the eye... But tasted slightly better than it’s presentation. The waitstaff and bartender was very pleasant and enjoyed speaking to them. Overall it was an “ok” experience but wasn’t worth the price paid.
Dom Bastello
This is the "Pink Floyd" laser light show of the late 60's only with good classical music and Van Gogh art. I liked it. Different and unique. Would have liked it to be a little longer however.
Fidel de la Garza (Fidelaga)
Great exhibit with a inmersive video and great music , a must to visit !!!
Aaron “shaggydoo541”
Left on an amazing statue of liberty tour from here. Be aware that Google maps may try to take you here through some public utility lots. You have to enter before or after these lots.
Igenie Harris-Blenman
They need better signage or staff that can direct you properly. I had a great time on Majestic Princess party boatride.
Crew member Paul Smith was really helpful, friendly and pleasant.
