I want to relive this night over and over again! The food AMAZING, the staff AMAZING, the owners AMAZING, everything was AMAZING!! If you’re looking for a place to get married don’t think twice and just pick here! My guest are still calling me raving about the place and how perfect and magical it is and also the FOOD, they loved the food! They offer so much and are always on top of helping you along the way! The owners Bobby and Sue are truly the sweetest people and are very involved in making everything perfect! Also, Emma was the best coordinator and always willing to go out her way to help! 10/10 highly recommend! Quit looking now and get married here!

Absolutely loved this place. We met with Darla back in January and she was incredibly nice and could pour a hell of a mimosa. We were very impressed by the grounds and the setting and pretty much everything. We opted to not get married in New Orleans due to budget and travel, but we were going to go with Southern Oaks as our venue had we decided to do it in New Orleans. I'd recommend Southern Oaks to anybody looking for a venue.

I can not even begin to describe how amazing Southern Oaks is. We are from the DC area and wanted to do a destination wedding. We fell in love with Southern Oaks when we went to visit. Everyone was kind, the venue was beautiful and so many things were included so we decided this was our place. Wedding day comes and it was the most perfect day I could have ever asked for. Far exceeding our expectations. The food was AMAZING, the staff was attentive and kind. Some staff even joined us on the dance floor as they would clean a table and we just loved it. They handled everything from set up to clean up. We went with the horse and carriage and jazz band and these additions just took our wedding to another level! Fairytale wedding with a New Orleans flare. Multiple guests commented on the delicious food and said it was one of the best weddings they had ever been too and a lot of that is bc this venue was so amazing! They even surprised us with a magical send off! We did not want the night to end. They really brought our vision to light! I HIGHLY recommend!

The absolute most magical experience of my life!!! Words can’t express how amazing this venue is. Southern Oaks is the Disney World of weddings. From the very first interaction (which happened to be on their Instagram because I was gushing in the comments!) to the big day, everything was perfection. Our coordinator was Lauren who was an absolute angel the entire year long engagement/planning. She was professional and friendly and always went above and beyond, especially on the day of, and I knew from the start we were in great hands. The actual day of the wedding was a literal dream. The staff is a well-oiled machine and run the entire event like secret agents - it’s absolutely incredible. Guests are gushing still, two weeks later, about the level of service. I have never been treated better in my entire life. The attention to detail is meticulous, the setting is gorgeous, the care of the staff is beyond outstanding, the food was spectacular, I can go on and on!!!! As the bride I was taken care of my Kimora who was the kindest, most professional and sweetest and attentive person I have ever met. She made me feel like a princess. Bob the owner is one of the best humans I have had the pleasure of interacting with!!!! He truly makes dreams come true. I am forever grateful to you all for crafting a truly amazing, one of a kind experience!!! You all will forever be a part of our special day!

My husband & I were married at Southern Oaks last month. I can't even begin to describe how incredible our experience was! They are the kindest, most generous people that I've met. From the moment we chose them to the minute that our wedding was over, they were attentive, thoughtful & unbelievably professional. The owners, Bobby & Sue & their daughter Stacey are just the sweetest people! They genuinely wanted our day to be the best it could be & they made sure it was exactly that! Our coordinator, Lauren, was just the very best! Emma was at my side for every moment, ensuring that I was happy & enjoying our day....Lauren & Emma both made the evening flawless for us. And Maxwell was fantastic! If you get the opportunity to work with any of these three, you are guaranteed to have a phenomenal wedding. Pictures do not do this beautiful place justice & I do have to say, we had an evening wedding & I would highly recommend that. It was stunning! The food was perfect...our guests were blown away with how amazing it all was. If you are considering Southern Oaks for your wedding, you will not be disappointed! What a wonderful way to start our married life. We are forever grateful to all of them for making our night so special & for welcoming a bunch of crazy Canadians to New Orleans!

I just can not say enough good things about this venue, it’s owners, and every employee we met! My daughter had her dream wedding and reception here that was absolutely perfect in every way! They just made it look and feel effortless! From the moment we arrived for the ceremony, Bobby made sure that everyone felt comfortable, calm, and welcome as did every one of the people working there. And then we were guided right through the steps and treated like royalty! They were so attentive to our every need! The horses and carriage, fireworks, fountain, and twinkling lights in the old oak trees made for the perfect southern wedding! What a beautiful starry ceremony under the oaks! The best part, was like I said before, effortless! Everything was included. Premium open bar, delicious food (which everyone was raving about), and happy, smiling, and attentive service. We all would do it all over, again and again…..which is why my daughter chose this place! Being from New Orleans, we had all been to weddings and receptions here over the past 30 years. It was her dream wedding spot that she had wanted, and then chosen, over all the other places we visited in New Orleans! Definitely the right pick!!!

Southern Oaks exceeded me and my wife’s expectations. I’m a New Orleans native but been living in Texas the last 3 years. I suggested to my then fiancée that we get married back home in New Orleans. We we’re looking for a venue that was elegant and all inclusive. We looked at hotels to have the reception but you have to hire your own caterer, DJ, and coordinator Southern Oaks included all of that in their package. Southern Oak made a awesome impression when we first came to look at the venue and they were upfront about the price and no hidden charges. I also want to thank Maxwell for being a awesome coordinator everything went smoothly with the planning and the owner’s wife Sue personally came to greet us. The day of the wedding we were blown away by the grand entrance and we personally got to meet the owner Bobby. The food was delicious drinks were flowing all night. The staff was professional and addressed any needs we had. The only enhancement we went with was the brass band for the second line and we enjoyed every moment of it. We got so many compliments from our guests about how the reception went. Me and my wife Shana couldn’t have picked a better a venue to have our wedding reception. Thank you Southern Oaks for making our dream wedding come true.

Southern Oaks is a 5 star operation. From booking, to planning, to the big day, and follow up after, the team at Southern Oaks was outstanding. Owner Bobby personally called me after we got home to say thank you and talk more about our wedding. His #2 Lauren is wedding coordinator extraordinaire, she also is the commander on the big day! She drove her team to execute each component flawlessly throughout our reception and ceremony. They make things perfect and stay out of your way so you can enjoy the night. Having a personal attendant assigned to me was amazing because I never noticed them but my drink was also never empty and I didn’t even have to ask! For the first time in my life, I attended a wedding and didn’t visit the bar once!!! The lighting installed outside at the venue was magical at night. The food was delicious, abundant, and received many compliments from our guests. For enhancements we added: silver cloud limo, second line band, fireworks, drago’s oyster truck, and Mardi Gras parade. I’d recommend all of them because they added a lot to the experience for us and for our guests. Tbh the fireworks were the element that truly made it over the top!!! (which is what we were going for) New Orleans: we decided to do a destination wedding because we live out west in Montana and our family is from all over (especially the Midwest). My wife and I have always loved NOLA, and we have been there many times. Once we selected NOLA, Southern Oaks came up to the top of our list for venues. We traveled down to tour the venue and for comparison we found two other venues to tour as well: The Jax & Elms Mansion. We saw those first and they were both phenomenal, but they just weren’t what we wanted. When we met with Lauren and drank champagne as we toured the property envisioning our big night there, we knew it was an easy decision. When our date was available we didn’t hesitate to book Southern Oaks and you should book them too! Most of our guests and family’s hadn’t been to NOLA before. We have heard rave reviews about the event at Southern Oaks but also the long weekend in the big easy. To say people had fun, was the understatement of the year. Many of my cousins took my mom to the side at the wedding and said “I’m just glad that I’m already married, so I don’t have to try to follow this!!!” They loved the food, culture, music, and vibes. October weather in NOLA is fab too! Pat O'Brien’s definitely got some extra business from our Irish crew on our wedding weekend! Thank you so much to Bobby, Lauren, and the entire Southern Oaks Teams. We wish you nothing but success, and we know you’ll have it because you are so good at what you do. 5 STARS IS NOT ENOUGH!!!! Bobby and Vince run a beautiful place that doesn't disappoint. The hospitality and positive attitudes of everyone at Southern Oaks made our wedding beyond amazing, not one ounce of stress every step of the way. Staff made us feel like family the entire time and had smiles every second we saw them. Pay for the extra hour of the reception, you'll make some amazing memories here I can promise you that.

Lovely venue. 5 stars for the staff, Dylan specifically. I've never seen somebody outside of a movie, that was so pleasant and seemed to genuinely enjoy his job. He was my hero during a stressful evening. His attention to details was amazing. He made a point to make sure my disabled Army Vet brother was looked after, throughout the event. On that note, I would highly recommend Signage be added to the front, to indicate where the wheelchair ramp is. Which unfortunately is in the back of the venue. Also, the ramp itself could use some lowering and extension for safety reasons. I was slowly leaning backwards to counter my brother's weight, to avoid careening off into the shrubbery and/or pool. Other than those issues, the owner was delightful and stay was pleasant. As a guest, I enjoyed my visit. There were some issues that my daughter, the Bride will be going over independently. *Warning, the GPS will continue directing you to the back of the gated property. Frustrating to guests and the Owner as well. He said he's tried getting corrections made, but has had no luck. It doesn't make sense because it's the back and isn't even the street address you enter into Mapquest. We also had two young females crash the venue. But because there were so many out of town guests, they weren't caught while inside taking pictures and being rude to guests. They entered from the pool area in the middle of our event. It was only realized after the event, when guests started talking about them. They took advantage of the open bar. That should be locked down for safety and liability issues. Overall easily fixable issues to be a complete 5 start venue.

Where to begin.... Southern Oaks is by far the best vendor experience I have ever had. They truly aspire to make this experience as easy and magical as possible. I booked Southern Oaks in January 2020. I was pretty nervous throughout the whole year as our wedding date, March 2021, was getting closer and closer due to COVID. Southern Oaks was very prompt to answer my emails and was always on call away for any questions. They did such a fantastic job guiding me through the planning process and helping ease some of my stress. Our wedding day was an event out of a fairytale movie! We met Mr. Bobby, the owner, and quickly connected over our Disney obsession. I never knew that most of their visions come from Disney. This is why they strive to have a top notch crew and it was incredible to see how smoothly and stress-free the ceremony and reception was. They were constantly checking in with us along with our parents. I've never seen a service quite like this. I am still blown away!! Our guests are still ranting and raving about the whole experience! They loved the second line, fireworks, Mardi Gras parade, and the FOOD! The food was the biggest hit! Every single item was delicious. Thank you so so much Mr. Bobby and the Southern Oaks team! Bobby Asaro and his staff are the absolute best in the business. What makes them a step above all others is their passion for what they do it is not just a job it is Bobby's calling. From the day we walked in to book we knew we made the right choice with our daughter. They left no detail unturned. They were our wedding planners, they recommend an amazing list of vendors we might need. We chose all of our vendors based on their recommendations including bakery. Limos. Photographer , flowers, makeup artist, invitations etc. and were super pleased with all! The venue itself is so classy , elegant, and just plain amazing. Southern Oaks is a one stop venue for all of your wedding needs. Our daughter chose to be married in church and have her reception at Southern Oaks. Bobby was there to greet us as we arrived! Not many owners care that much! The surprise grand entrance with fireworks, fairytale music, lights and streamers Bobby planned for our daughter was priceless and just took our breath away. The smile on our daughters face is one we will never forget thanks to Bobby. Her smile stayed the entire night! It was the most flawless wedding any bride and parents could ever hope for She told us she always dreamed of her dream wedding BUT never dreamed it would be as special as it was. DETAIL is what they do food, drinks, attendants for parents ,bride and groom, Thank God for wonderful Emma to bussel my daughters huge dress, music, lights, decor!! JUST all amazing.We all really wish we could do it all over again! AND we would not change a thing. It is truly sad that I can only give Bobby and Southern Oaks five stars in this review. If you are looking for the perfect venue that provides Exceptional service, Great Food and a Magical evening Southern Oaks is the place. My husband and I wanted to get married in New Orleans and was interested in an all inclusive venue. Well we signed the contract site unseen and it was the best decision ever. This place looks exactly like the pictures, actually better. From the first phone call up to the last dance, Mr. Bobby and his gracious staff handled my guest and the entire wedding party like royalty. Every question I had regarding my wedding was answered, this venue provides everything and they do not try to upsell you on items. There are no hidden fees, upcharges or surprises. Well, the surprises are what your guest will experience. My wedding was Magical, Grand and Royal. Everything was smooth and effortless, the staff operates this place like a well oiled machine. There is no running around, no one is confused and you, the wedding party and family members are assigned a concierge that ensures your culinary/drink needs are met. All the special touches, there is also a moment where you really get to take each other in and embrace what is actually happening. Private Room: We were swept away to a private room, the table was set, our glasses were filled with Champagne and it was just us I thought this was absolutely thoughtful. It was probably one of the better moments amidst everything thing else it was our time to decompress...The Food: It is not your typical wedding plate of chicken, fish or buffet. This place provides a Taste of New Orleans, I mean your guest will not stop talking about what they ate, how good the food was and how much food was being passed. Amazing flavors and a huge variety. There is no waiting, once the reception starts the food is being passed, this style was great because it also eliminated the hassle of seating charts, open seating was also another reason I loved this place. Enhancements: I chose to have a New Orleans Style Brass Band, Horse and Carriage, Carving Station and Fireworks, which made it a very grand time, my guest were over stimulated with surprises. During the time of our wedding, my husband and I was experiencing a difficult time and Mr. Bobby had a surprise for us, he upgraded our fireworks package to River Fireworks, it was like the 4th of July in September. The sky was lit up over the River.. all for us. The Venue: This place is gorgeous on the inside and outside. The outside has huge moss filled oak trees with a beautiful historic fountain as you enter, it's really picturesque and well kept grounds. Behind the Mansion there is plenty parking for your guests and a stable and swimming pool where the beautiful white horse are kept. Your guest can sit outside and enjoy the cafe tables where the music from inside is piping outside for their enjoyment. Inside every room is gorgeous, the place has a timeless feel with a real richness that provides grandeur. Jeremy, Lauren and Mariah customer service just impeccable, I can also tell that this is a great place to work. They all really work in sync and the professionalism, I just cannot state it enough. I will always remember my wedding day and cherish the wonderful memories because of the staff here, the owner and the venue. My guests are still calling and saying how this was by far the best wedding they have ever attended. Most of my guest have become wedding snobs because of their experience here. We had our daughter's wedding at the Southern Oaks Plantation and wow it was like a New Orleans fairy tail wedding. The owners Bobby and Sue Asaro are the nicest people you will ever meet. The food is so good and they just kept being it out from the kitchen! There are different packages that will fit your wedding of a life time. Definitely a beautiful place and I highly recommend checking this beautiful plantation place out for your wedding.

Not only was it the most magical day of my (and my husband's) life but the experience leading up to the day was wonderful all because of the team at Southern Oaks. Everyone is incredibly communicative, so you know exactly what to expect. The only thing you don't expect is the level of service you receive from the team, it is truly above and beyond anything you can ever imagine. The best compliment I received (other than 'this is the best wedding I've ever been to') is how it is obvious that everyone working at Southern Oaks truly enjoys what they do. If you want to be surrounded by people that clearly love what they do, and will treat you like royalty, Southern Oaks is the place to get married.

I got married at Southern Oaks on August 18th, 2019. It was truly one of the greatest experiences I have ever had. To say that my wedding was everything I dreamed it would be, would be an understatement. I live in Atlanta, GA., but my now husband and I met in New Orleans. It just made the most sense to bring everything back where it started and have our wedding in NOLA. One would think handling a wedding long distance would be a horrible experience. However, it could not have been easier! I only had to manage 5 vendors (Flowers, String Quartet, Photographer, Videographer and Cake Baker). Southern Oaks provided everything else that was needed to make this wedding perfect...and 5 STAR perfect! We had fireworks, a Mardi Gras Parade, Jazz band...I mean it was just freaking magical. I am not sure how many people work there, but the place runs like a well oiled machine. My glass was never empty, my needs were always attended to and I never had to worry about a thing. On the way to the venue, it started to rain...and not kinda rain or drizzle.; BUT RAIN. I thought, there is no way this is going to be outside. I had basically rationalized the fact I was going to have an indoor wedding. When I arrived, the chairs were still up outside and they were wiping them down. They were going to do everything in their power (except weather manipulation) to make sure it was outside in front of the mansion. They checked radar and knew that we would be ok. It was outside! It was a little steamy, (HA!), but well worth it. It was amazing! I can't even express how thankful and blessed I feel to have had the opportunity to have my wedding at Southern Oaks. If I could do it all again, I would not change a thing (except I would have eaten more of that delicious food-THE FOOD WAS UNREAL). Southern Oaks is absolutely phenomenal! From start to finish , they accommodated our every need. Lauren and the whole staff were so kind and so professional. We were originally going to look at a few venues/cities for our wedding but after our first meeting at Southern Oaks, we looked no further. It was a very easy decision. It was everything we wanted plus more. If you’re deciding on your wedding venue, look no further, book it! You will not regret it. As all of our wedding guests said, it was “magical” and “enchanting”. There’s no better way to describe it. From the horse drawn carriage, to the 2nd line band, to the food and so much more, it was unbelievable. Our wedding guests are still talking about it. Also, after having some missed photo opportunities (our fault not theirs), the owners even allowed us to take those photos after the wedding. They went over and beyond to meet our wishes and I can’t even put into words how grateful I am for them allowing us to do it. Thank you Southern Oaks for making our wedding a dream come true.

I recently had my wedding in November of 2021. My wedding was a complete dream come true at Southern Oaks. In the planning of my wedding, the easiest decision was choosing Southern Oaks as my venue. The venue is absolutely stunning inside and out. My ceremony was unique and I felt like the main star in a movie production. Mr. Bobby, his family and entire staff went above and beyond for not only me, but for my bridal party, my family, all of my guests and my other vendors (photographers, videographers etc). During my wedding ceremony and reception I did not have to worry about a single thing. I was able to truly enjoy myself knowing that Mr. Bobby and his amazing staff took care of every single detail, all the way down to helping pack up my belongings and gifts. All of my guests continue to rave about the hospitality they were shown and how fun/lively the staff, servers and bartenders were. They also continue to rave about the amazing food and deserts that were served. You can not beat the cuisine at Southern Oaks and the food just keeps on coming! The DJ at Southern Oaks really got the party started and kept the party going. Having all of my friends and family on the dance floor with me meant the world to me. I am forever grateful to Mr. Bobby, his family and the entire Southern Oaks’ staff. I felt on top of the world, at ease and had the best night of my life on one of the most important nights of my life. I can not thank Southern Oaks enough! Amazing first experience. My little boys enjoyed everything about this place, so professional and clean! There was a server there and I apologize for forgetting his name but he had curly short hair, he was the icing on the cake! One of my really good friends had her wedding here. The wedding was held right before sunset on the front lawn and the reception inside. The property has a small stable with horses. There is a pool worderfully lit. The entrance and steps to the front of the house looks amazing where most of the weddings take place. We had a wonderful time at the venue.

Great time! Attended a wedding at this venue and it was gorgeous! From the outside to the inside, very clean and well kept! Walking up to the ceremony with my daughter we had to pass the horse drawn carriage and she was terrified of the horses, one of the guys at the carriage helped carry her pass because she was just freaking out. I saw him a little later on and he asked if she was okay, I thought that was very nice of him. Everyone I encountered on this evening was very pleasant and respectful, there was always someone coming around with a tray offering you something or asking if everything was okay, cleaning up your things that you were done with, wiping up spills on the floor, I mean they were on it and didn’t miss a beat. I’m not a big drinker, but I definitely enjoyed the mango margarita! The food tasted wonderful, the bread pudding was my favorite and the service was outstanding. Never once did I see anyone looking like they didn’t want to be there, everyone was smiling and happy and ready to serve, I even saw a few people dancing after the I do’s. Everything was really lovely and it was a beautiful night, celebrating love and enjoying family, receiving great service and having a good time! I would absolutely recommend this venue for your wedding celebration!

My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception here on Friday, September 24th. I don’t even know how to begin to express how amazing Southern Oaks is. The staff is beyond incredible, super attentive, caring, and will go above and beyond to make sure this is the most perfect day for you. I have to give a special shoutout to Lauren, this girl made sure that every single detail was perfect for us and made the wedding planning experience a breeze. She genuinely cares about her guests and will do anything to make sure they’re happy. We couldn’t have been more thankful for her! The venue itself is immaculate! Once you enter inside the gates, it’s like you transport into another world! From the beautiful landscaping, intimate setting, white horse drawn carriage, firework show, the AMAZING food and open bar, there isn’t one thing we could complain about or would have changed. Southern Oaks is on an entirely different level that most venues. They make what could have been the most stressful day ever for a bride, the most magical day. Choosing Southern Oaks is still by far the best decision we could have made and if we could relive this day over and over again, we would. If you are looking for the perfect place to get married and cherish the memories forever, you definitely chose the right place.

AMAZING NIGHT AMAZING EXPERIENCE Brides if you want a fairy tale night where everything is taken care of and all you have to do is show up and be gorgeous Southern Oaks is your place. From the time I walked in as the mother of the bride I was told that my every need would be taken care of and truer words were never spoken. If my hands were empty the lovely Kimona was there to offer a drink. If I was looking around there was Darla asking what I needed and offering to find it/them. Every where I turned someone was offering delicious food. I believe everyone in the wedding party can attest to the same. The lights were gorgeous and made for gorgeous pictures. The horse drawn carriage was right out of a fairy tale. The fireworks at the end of the ceremony were stunning and exciting. Not quite 24 hours later and we are still marveling at how perfect the night, the venue , the service was. The staff and level of service at Southern Oaks made for an incomparable experience. Thank You Southern Oaks for making my daughter’s dream wedding come true. She raved about you long before the day and you definitely lived up to the hype. I would give wayyy more than 5 stars if I could.

My son planned his wedding here in April 2020. Unfortunately, covid hit and the wedding got post-poned for a year. My husband is disabled with a severe mobility issue. We were very apprehensive about the accessibility of the venue but the staff was AMAZING. Those boys jumped in and made it happen. They were so attentive to our needs the entire night and we had so much fun!!!! The venue is beautiful and romantic; the food was out of this world; and the staff were so responsive to our every need. My only suggestion would be to cut back the back bushes to enlarge the handicap access. I can't believe drunk people don't end up in the pool!

I had my wedding here on October 27th and I couldn't have had a better venue. They literally took care of everything, every detail was thought of! My wedding was an evening event so the entire venue was lit up with white lights in the trees and around the fountain. The fireworks package was added to my wedding and it was simply amazing! Everyone enjoyed the fireworks show after the recessional. Inside the venue, it is very elegantly designed that there was no need to add any decorations. All of my guests said it was the most beautiful and magical wedding they had ever been too. All of their food was phenomenal, I definitely suggest trying their pecan crusted fried chicken. The staff was incredibly friendly and the owners are the nicest people you will ever meet. They made sure that not only were our guests well fed, but that my husband and I got a chance to eat in private before joining the reception. My husband and I, as well as our parents were so well taken care of, Southern Oaks was nothing short of excellent!

I constantly receive compliments on how it was the best wedding people have been to and that the food was spectacular. Everyone at Southern Oaks made our day special and effortless. We had our wedding here on May 21, 2016 and it was the most amazing, romantic, magical experience ever! I highly recommend this venue if you are thinking about doing a destination wedding in NOLA. I'm from Seattle and had absolutely no problem getting in touch with staff via email with my random wedding questions. The owner was so nice and took pictures of me before the ceremony and sent them to my email shortly after! The day of coordinators were so helpful throughout the day, I felt completely taken care of and put at ease in their hands. Our guests are still raving about how good the food and drink was at our wedding! The day of coordinators also make sure you get food and drink non-stop. The venue was absolutely breath-taking as well. I will never forget how beautiful our wedding day was and how happy we were on our special day. Every last dime was worth it and really made planning easier (with forgoing vendors like catering, DJ, etc.). This is a one stop shop for weddings in NOLA and I am so grateful for everything the staff did to make our day so special. They definitely know what they're doing! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE SOP!

Our wedding at southern oaks plantation was better than any dream I ever had! To say the night was perfect would be an understatement. It has been a year since my wife and I got married there (July 19, 2014). We were looking at pictures the other day, and it reminded me to go back and write this review. Southern Oaks is an amazing place to get married. Bobby and his family have built an amazing establishment. Bobby was so great to be around (joyful, helpful, thoughtful), and his daughter, Stacey, was attentive, accommodating, and sincerely kind. The space is as advertised, maybe even better. The service was among the best. And the food was better than most weddings I have ever been to. As a groom and bride, our day was stress free and everything as promised. Our parents didn't have an ounce of stress either and were able to just enjoy the day too. A year later, people are still talking about what a great wedding venue it was. It was everything they promised and then some. I would book here!

Oh my goodness. Where do I begin. I could not thank Southern Oaks Plantation enough for the magical wedding we had this December. Mr. Bobby, you are an amazing human being. He was there himself and talked to me and assured me how great everything was going to be and asked me what exactly I had in mind and his opinions and let me tell you, our minds were blown myself included. When we booked with Southern Oaks Plantation we knew this was a great venue but we had no idea how GREAT it was going to be. I have had multiple people including kids tell me how this was the best wedding they had been to. The staff is AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. I had champagne all night, they made sure we ate, made sure our families were doing okay, I mean you name it, they made sure it happened. now about the food.... THE BEST FOOD I HAVE HAD! wow just wow. the food kept coming from the moment everyone went in and it did not stop. I have had almost every single guest at the wedding comment on how great the food was. It was AMAZING. We took a little bit longer eating our dinner because we wanted more and more.. Honestly, the best decision we made was to book with Southern Oaks Plantation. We live in Houston so this was a destination wedding for us and I was very nervous as I did not get to go to LA and did not feel like I was as prepared as I should be? But oh my oh my, How AMAZING everyone at Southern Oaks Plantation made it to be. It was truly a magical wedding, a wedding to remember. We had guests come in from New Jersey and California many of which had never visited LA before and they were so amazed and loved every single thing about this venue. My husband and I truly recommend this place to anyone who is looking and is not sure. Trust me, you will not regret it. Why can't I give this place 10 stars? We worked with Kim for about a year. She was very responsive and accommodating, anticipating many of our needs before us, and helped to make our special day flawlessly magical! Because they usually have multiple weddings per day, you don't have unlimited time at the venue. With that said, the staff worked with us to ensure that we maximized the use of both the time and space allotted for our event! As someone who really appreciates timeliness, I appreciated how they kept the day on schedule and kept things moving along. We are both from DC, and the venue was perfect for a destination wedding. And oh yeah, the food is pretty awesome! We had hard to please palettes that were pleasantly pleased! Highly recommend!

VENDOR REVIEW - I'm a photographer based in Baton Rouge that shoots in New Orleans about 60% of the time. So, I've had my fair share of experiences at similar NOLA venues. The staff here is INCREDIBLE! Unfortunately, my couple's beautiful outdoor ceremony under the trees was not an option due to a sudden rain storm. The venue completely turned it around and created an amazing ceremony site indoors before anyone knew what happened. It was as if the transformation took place within seconds. They had all hands on deck to make sure my couple's dream wedding came true. As a fellow vendor I was so thankful to see them care about my couple as much as I do. Parking was confusing. Saw people pulling up out front so thought there was valet parking but officer instructed me how to reach thier back parking lot. There were no signs which would have helped greatly. Had not been to venue in over 25 yrs. Great security for guests provided by venue. Venue was beautiful and well maintained. They did not account for wind and smoke & debris from fireworks blew back onto guests outside. Otherwise, wonderful - beautiful wedding.

If you want your wedding to be perfect, book it at Southern Oaks. The venue is gorgeous. It is the most elegant and classy looking place you could ever hope for. The entire staff is incredible. Their goal is making sure your wedding and reception are perfect. If you have a favorite drink, they make sure your hand is never empty. Kim walked us through our rehearsal and made sure everything was planned out in advance down to the smallest detail. She, Lauren, Bobby, and everyone else at Southern Oaks gave us everything we needed before we even knew we needed it. The staff even threw in a few complementary surprises for us. I told them at the end of the night that I would rate them an 11/10 and they truly did earn it. The food, which was plentiful, is delicious. The dj was great and played all the right songs at all the right moments. This place is perfect.

Very impressive. My wife and I got married here on April 27, 2019. The folks at Southern Oaks Plantation (SOP) have wedding planning and execution down to a science. From the very beginning of our contact with them, they were professional and responsible. They assigned Lauren Burgess as the primary point of contact for our wedding and she remained attentive and friendly throughout. She seemed genuinely excited to be planning our wedding and was very easy to work with. SOP handles the majority of details for the ceremony and reception so it makes things easy on the bride and groom during the planning process. On the day of, they had individual people assigned to different roles taking care of specific people and things, and had a standardized process for preparing the bridal party for the ceremony, which was executed flawlessly. Everything else was honestly almost perfect, and I do not use that word lightly. The grounds were gorgeous, the staff courteous and attentive, the plan well thought out and executed, the reception fun, the bar easy, the food absolutely fantastic, and on and on. It was especially nice that during the reception, from start to finish, the SOP staff was constantly checking on us (bride and groom) to ensure we had everything we needed from drinks to change of clothes to even a new pair of socks! They were always respectful of our time, space, and privacy but never far when we needed them. One of the capstones for us was that the owner threw in a surprise fireworks and streamers show at the end of our ceremony! We had no idea it was coming! Many guests said our wedding was a "fairytale wedding," and they raved about the setting and food in particular. As many of them are high-performing professionals, this commentary is not frivolous or given without being earned. My wife and I would highly recommend you considering SOP for your wedding. We would choose them again in a heartbeat!

I don’t even know where to begin with this – it’s hard to put into words just how perfect and magical Southern Oaks and the staff truly are, but this is the best word I can think of to describe this place…Magic. We had a year to plan this destination wedding, and Mr. Bobby, Lauren, and the rest of the staff made it the easiest process throughout the entire year..alleviating all the worries and stress that brides experience while planning a wedding. No matter how many questions I asked, how many emails I sent (and how annoying I’m sure my mother and I both were), Lauren always responded so quickly, with such a great attitude, and answered every question in such detail. I could go on and on about how amazing they were leading up to the big day, but what brings me to actual tears is how they treated us the day of. First off, if you just visit Southern Oaks, you’ll see that the plantation sells itself. It’s truly something that you only see in movies and magazines..the Spanish moss on the trees, the perfectly manicured front lawn, all the way to the beautiful pool, lights, and horse stables in the backyard. The details inside are equally astounding..the music, chandeliers, décor, the different rooms spread out across the plantation, even the women’s restroom was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It’s a picture perfect dream come true. The service that you get with the team is the other part that is almost impossible to put into words. I've heard horror stories of things going wrong the day of the wedding, or the bride experiencing mishaps at their venues. I can honestly say that every moment of our day was better than I could have ever imagined in my wildest dreams,& absolutely nothing went even slightly wrong. Not once. They are the most well-oiled machine you will ever see..everything is so perfectly orchestrated, and there was never a single hiccup during our entire experience. On top of that, they exceeded every expectation I could have ever had for my wedding day. Mr. Bobby pulled out all the extra stops, from surprising me with my grand entrance in their Rolls Royce to a magnificent fireworks show that ended the ceremony. They made me feel like a real life princess from start to finish. Even the service we received throughout the entire reception never ceased to amaze us. Nick was our attendant that evening and I don’t think a single ice cube could melt in my drink before he was right beside me offering a new one (Nick, you were fantastic)! They make you feel like royalty from the second you step foot on their property, and I was so blown away by all of it. Our family and friends haven’t stopped RAVING about the venue, food, service, atmosphere and everything in between. We have heard over and over again from guests how it was the best wedding they have ever been to, and I have zero doubts that they are telling the truth. I was an anxious bride that had always just hoped to survive the day of my wedding in one piece, but I can honestly say that I would do it over and over again if I could just because Southern Oaks made it an actual dream come true that I never wanted to end. I hope every bride can feel the perfection and magic that I did on my wedding day, and I’m 1000% sure that they would if they choose to get married here. This southern belle rates Southern Oaks as a 5 star venue for weddings! Deciding on an out of town destination for a wedding can be hard, however a wedding /florist, Beth's Flowers and Weddings, mentioned this beautiful venue so I went for a look. We did not have an appointment, but the staff was more than willing to show us around and offer suggestions. They were preparing for a wedding that day and still took time to accommodate us, which was great as we were only in town for a few days. We left to look at other reception sites only to decide Southern Oaks was THE place for us. Our wedding day was perfect thanks to the team there. The food was delicious and their attention to detail was impeccable. Very pleased.

This venues staff has mastered the humble art of service. They are unbelievably respectful and kind. My husband and I were married at Southern Oaks on 3.30.18. To say it was the most amazing day of our lives would be quite the understatement. The team at Southern Oaks was nothing short of incredible from the day we started planning through seeing us off on our wedding night. I'm not sure how many brides can say there was nothing that went wrong on their wedding day but I am very fortunate to say that I can thanks to Bobby and all of the wonderful people at Southern Oaks. They made sure our day was flawless and one that we will never forget. Our guests are STILL raving about it! We just had our wedding reception here on Friday, May 27th 2016. I cannot even begin to express how magical it was. The staff goes way above and beyond to make your day extra special. You are being waited on hand and foot, no one leaves hungry, and the food is simply amazing. They are such wonderful, highly organized professionals and we were always told where and what the next steps were throughout the whole night. I HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone. 5 stars isn't even enough credit to give to this venue. I am still in awe of how amazing of an experience it was. My guests have all told us that our wedding blew all other weddings that they had attended out of the water... because of how spectacular the venue was!!!

This past weekend we had the pleasure of having our wedding at Southern Oaks Plantation. Everyone at Southern Oaks far exceeded all of our expectations and helped us to put on a wedding that no one in-attendance will ever forget. About a year ago, my then future wife and I decided that we would have a destination wedding in New Orleans. After doing some research and looking on the Knot, all signs pointed to Southern Oaks Plantation. However, reviews are one thing but if we were going to have our wedding there, we needed to see it for ourselves!!! From the moment we got there, the entire staff, just knock our socks off with their attention to detail, professionalism, and southern hospitality. The immaculate landscaped grounds made for breathe taking photo opportunities. For the next year, my wife would have countless conversations with both Stacy and Taylor the wedding coordinators, regarding every detail of the wedding. They were so knowledgeable that they were able to answer just about every question with certainty, and even when they didn't know an answer, they made sure that the person who did know got back to us in a very timely manner. Although we fell in love with the venue instantly, my family has dietary restrictions that might have gotten in the way had it not been for Ms. Susan's culinary flexibility. Mrs. Susan sat down with us and went through the entire menu, making changes to her recipes anywhere that was needed. Her flexibility and willingness to work with us certainly reassured us that we had made the right decision to have the wedding at Southern Oaks. The entire staff was absolutely wonderful, provided the best service, made sure everything looked picture perfect and was very accommodating, but this was all because of the owner Mr. Bobby. Having been a photographer himself and idolizing Walt Disney, these influences can be seen in his management style. Mr. Bobby went over the top and surprised us with many extra’s that no one expected. The success of Southern Oaks is not an accident, these people know what they are doing and know how to throw a party.

Holy smokes! Where do I begin??? This place, the employees, the atmosphere! It is the most perfect place to have your wedding! The first time I walked though that door I was absolutely taken away! I was introduced to an amazing lady named Lauren. She was the sweetest person I had dealt with while going crazy trying to find a place to hold my wedding. She answered any questions I had and was so patient. I was later introduced to Mr. Bobby. Well he has that perfect southern charm and made us feel like he has been knowing us for years. We had our baby and he heard from Lauren that I am a huge Disney fan. Well hello, I use to work at Disney! Lol anyways, he gave our little girl a stuffed Minnie Mouse. It’s the little things that catches people’s attention. She still has it and carries it around all the time. The whole place made you feel like you were home! The absolute best! I will take you to the week of our weeding. I was a stressed bride to say the least. The day we went to drop some stuff off at the plantation, Lauren worked her magic and made everything so calm. I remember her always telling me “let us do the worrying, let us do the work!” And that they did. Now, night of my wedding they met us before the doors of the limo stopped. They are so orchestrated and has everything down to a science you, the bride, don’t have time to worry about this or that, they are already 10 steps ahead. Me. Bobby told my Matron of Honor “I have a little surprise for her!” Well holy smokes let me tell you! This man went above and beyond! Mickey and Minnie showed up at my wedding and to top it off I really got to have FIREWORKS at my wedding!!! The food was amazing! They have so much, so don’t worry about leaving hungry! Everyone that came to our wedding all agreed this was the best wedding they have ever been to. They are all still talking about it wanting to do it over so they can relive it. This is truest a magical place where DREAMS COME TRUE!

I wish I could rate it higher than five stars. Amazing service from the moment we called to ask for more information to the moment my wife and I climbed into our limo to leave. Staff from the owner down to the wait staff were amazing. They truly made me feel like family and that our wedding was special and their highest priority. Southern Oaks Plantation is the perfect venue for any wedding. During my first visit to Southern Oaks Plantation, I felt so welcomed by the staff. The staff members are very pleasant to work with. The food was delicious, my guests raved about the food for a week. The coffee served at Southern Oaks Plantation is comparable to a high-end coffee house, and the sweet tea is beyond amazing. There were somethings I would have like to implement in my event, but it just did not happen. Nonetheless, Southern Oaks Plantation will wow your guests. My husband and I were engaged at the end of January 2018 and as we started the planning process we knew two things. We wanted to be married by the end of 2018 (yes, less than a year of planning) and we wanted it to be a destination wedding. As we narrowed down the locations, we settled on New Orleans for a November 2018 wedding. There were many venues to choose from, but there was something about Southern Oaks that kept drawing us back to their website. Once we scheduled a call with the Southern Oaks Team and had a friend who lived locally visit the venue, we knew we had found our venue. We both have high tempo jobs and did not want the extra stress of coordinating with multiple vendors, which is why Southern Oaks worked perfectly because they are a one stop shop. We booked the photographers, florist and bakery, while Southern Oaks handled the rest. Our wedding was November 15th and to say that our expectations were exceeded is an understatement. The staff handled every aspect of the wedding flawlessly. We were amazed at how well things came together being that we put in minimal effort on what’s supposed to be the best day of our lives. Our family and friends couldn’t believe how stress free we were about the entire process and were blown away by the grandness of the ceremony and reception. Honestly, we were even blown away by how magical their grounds and facilities were for our evening wedding. Everything came together perfectly; their service is top notch and we could do another review just on how great the food was alone. We had friends and family telling us that this was hands down the best wedding they’d ever been to and not being boastful because it was ours, but it was the best we’d been to as well. ~Best of the Best ~ An Absolute Dream Come True at Southern Oaks Plantation ~ I had the wonderful pleasure of holding my ceremony & wedding reception at Southern Oaks Plantation on 11.8.19 (marking our 19 year anniversary as a couple!). This was a destination wedding (my husband & I are from NJ/NYC, and had guests guests traveling in from all over the world). In short, Lauren and Mr. Bobby ~ along with the rest of the amazing staff including my personal attendants Emma & Nick ~ literally made me the happiest woman on earth during my wedding ~ I'm still floating weeks later recalling how they took 15-16 months of my very detailed planning documents (I'm very particular about process & logistics in general & I had an equally VERY SPECIFIC vision for what I wanted to match!) ~ Lauren & Mr. Bobby took ALL of it in ~ we're talking a massive amount of emails here ~ and created the absolute PERFECT wedding day that I envisioned; they are truly best in class and are such wonderful people to boot! The venue is stunning and they take immaculate care of the grounds; it's truly a marvel to see, especially at night!! My ceremony included details on a pre-event playlist for guests upon arrival, a horse & carriage entrance, fireworks, jazz band, timed music, coordination and entrances of specific individuals in my wedding party, and literally like magic, it all just came together spectacularly on our big day ~ EVERY single person that attended ~ over 100 guests again from all over the world, were so impressed and beyond awed at the experience Southern Oaks delivered. I had never heard so many superlatives used by my friends and family (all who have attended numerous weddings): "This was the PERFECT Wedding!", "This was hands down the BEST Wedding I've been to, and I've been to a LOT!" ~ these are direct quotes from our F&F and they KEPT saying it throughout the night! SOP's impeccable attention to detail and their passion for creating the best experience possible for their couples is truly remarkable & above all, GENUINE ~ they truly do care about making people 'incandescently happy' :). Of course ... the food was a sight ~ all so tasty ~ from the praline chicken to the charbroiled oysters and the excellent open bar ~ my guests wanted for nothing, and they LOVED the concept of a continuous hand-passed variety of food to sample throughout the night vs. a "single entree" selection - it's ingenious, really! Additionally, SOP really made everything so EASY as they have so much experience and continue to innovate by providing so many amazing little conveniences for their couples i.e. letting us borrow their second line umbrellas for a portion of the ceremony, providing cake stands, easels, having a photo booth avl w/staff on-hand to help, and thoughtful gestures such as packing up what was left of our wedding cake to make sure we had every flavor, a to-go box of the wonderful food, a bottle of champagne, having a personal attendant for myself, Mr. Bobby & Lauren personally helping to serve a quick private dinner for myself and my husband ~ so sweet ~ taking great care of our parents the entire night, and staff on-hand to guide us through moments like cutting our cake, picture opportunities and thoughtful tips ~ you just don't get this level of service everywhere ~ we truly felt like royalty & did I mention there are other special surprises they throw in on top of all of this?? My husband and I had our wedding reception at Southern Oaks in the summer of June 14, 2013, and words cannot fully express how AMAZING, WONDERFUL, WHIMSICAL, & MAGICAL our wedding experience was. Our guests (60 percent of which were from out of town) were totally blown away by the experience and almost all of them have commented that it was the best wedding they've ever been to. I am from New Orleans, but my husband is from the Caribbean island of Trinidad & Tobago, and many of our guests were first-time visitors to the city. Southern Oaks orchestrated a true NOLA experience for them, and helped affirm why we chose to have our wedding in the Big Easy!! We've received such an outpouring of love, support and positive feedback from friends and family that we don't know what to do with ourselves! The venue was absolutely beautiful, the food was abundant and so delicious, the music kept the party going including the brass band and the staff was pleasant and attentive. It took everyone’s breath away. Not to mention Stacey (our primary wedding coordinator) made the planning process a BREEZE. Had my wedding here a few weeks ago and it just completely blew my expectations away. My wife and I are both working professionals from out of town, so we really didn't have alot of time to spend on wedding planning (we visited New Orleans a few times and got some planning done during those short trips). It was a bit nerve racking since we can't do many things that we could have if we are local. At the end of the day, both Taylor and Stacey from Southern Oaks made the whole process very stress-free and accommodating. They responded to email questions within a day (and we had ALOT) during the past several months. The place is very beautiful and scenic for photos on the outside and extremely fancy/classy on the inside. We had flowers brought in from an outside florist but it wasn't really necessary. They also have columns you can borrow to place the flowers on, in addition to a bunch of other small items in case you forget them last minute (guestbook, cake knives, toasting glasses, etc). There are a few add-on options to make the wedding ceremony even more grand such as fireworks, horse carriage, a brass band, and some others. We had the horse carriage and fireworks, and trust me, all of the guests remembered it and gave us a ton of compliments. Also, during the wedding/reception, there are several coordinators on site to make sure everything is going smoothly and that everyone is being taken care of. A lot of our guests have also told us that the reception food was the best they have had at any wedding (trust me, they don't skimp out at all... soft shell crab, cocktail shrimp, crawfish ettouffee, all the good stuff). The menu is already preset so there is no hassle or stress there. Overall, from the moment the ceremony started til the very end of the reception, it was just an amazing experience and I could not have asked for more. Icing on top was that the owner, Mr. Bobby (very down to earth and friendly), was onsite to make sure everything was going smoothly during our ceremony and reception.
