Reviews of The Grain Exchange - A Bartolotta Catering & Events Venue
We got married a few weeks ago and we are so incredibly happy with our decision to have our reception at The Grain Exchange. Maria and Christean were phenomenal to work with - from the initial consultation through the day of the event. Everything, from the gorgeous room to the fantastic food to the flow of events, was spectacular. I had many people comment that the food was the best they've had at a wedding. That's what you get with Bartolotta's! The day was above and beyond what we had hoped for and we can't recommend the team at The Grain Exchange highly enough.
We have nothing but rave reviews for our experience with the Grain Exchange! We came to Maria after having our initial venue fall through due to a renovation and poor management elsewhere, and working with Maria was the exact opposite of our initial experience. She was responsive, professional, kind and truly thought of every detail!! The food was outstanding and the we truly did not worry about a thing, knowing Maria and Bartolotta had it covered. The grain exchange itself was so beautiful itself you can be very minimalistic with decor. While there are many beautiful venues, there is truly no one else in Milwaukee like this team that will help you celebrate the perfect event.
Beautiful venue for events. Building is also really interesting from the outside
Went there for a wedding. It’s was beautiful, the food was good, and the service was good. Only thing I would say is maybe have a staff member on wine duty during dinner.
Beautiful architecture. They just don't make them like this anymore...
We had our wedding at Grain Exchange and it was absolutely a dream come true. We cannot say enough about Maria and the entire Bartolotta staff for making the most beautiful wedding reception. Their upstanding customer service and assistance to make your vision a reality is incredible. We worked with Maria since we postponed our original date. It was a seamless transfer to our new date. Our guests can't say enough about how delicious everything was! We highly recommend hosting your event at this historic venue in Milwaukee. You will be in awe with how beautiful Grain Exchange is :)
Outstanding service, food, and atmosphere. I highly recommend this venue!
Beautiful, historic building. Great wedding venue.
The ballroom was gorgeous! My wife and I were there for a wedding and never have we seen a reception venue look as classy and beautiful as this place. The wait staff was incredibly attentive! The wedding had around 250 guests and I din't think I ever saw an empty wine or water glass on a table. The bartenders were all friendly and knew their craft which is always a plus. Everything went wonderfully and if you were looking for a nice room for a big event than I don't know how you could get much nicer than the Grain Exchange.
There is a reason you cannot find a single bad review about The Grain Exchange alongside Bartolotta’s catering. They were amazing! My husband and I were married last weekend and our reception was at The Grain Exchange. Since then, we have received countless texts and phone calls about the beautiful room, incredible food, and friendly staff. Our wedding was all we hoped it would be and more thanks to Maria Bartolotta, John, and Katie. They worked with us tirelessly to create the perfect menu and atmosphere we envisioned for our guests. Our wedding day was nothing short of a fairytale. I was stress free and knew I could rely on their staff to care for our guests the entire evening. They did a perfect job arranging the tables, centerpieces, and other extra details all according to plan. Cannot recommend this venue and these people enough!
Beautiful historic venue. Wonderful food.
I have attended multiple weddings here in the past and it is an awesome place to get married. The architecture is absolutely stunning, especially with it's high ceilings. The staff was pleasant every time I have been there as well. It's a little expensive for an event, but it's a great venue.
Recently we celebrated our Daughter and Son in laws wedding at The Grain Exchange. It is hard to put in words how wonderful our experience was with the entire staff. Special thank you to Katie , Maria and John for their attention to detail. All evening we heard our guest describe the venue as Beautiful, Breathtaking and Elegant . Exceeded all of our expectations . The food was amazing ! The wait staff was so attentive and courteous. We highly recommend this venue!!!
It's hard for me to put into words how appreciative I am of my experience at the Grain Exchange for my wedding. Our wedding was absolutely perfect - everything I envisioned and more! Maria and Jon are truly the best (as are the rest of the staff). They took the time to walk us through the history of the room, the food/rental options, and how the evening would go. All my friends/family asked me in the days leading up to our wedding if I was nervous - I confidently said no, I had complete trust and faith in Maria, Jon, and their team. To say the Grain Exchange is beautiful is an understatement, it's truly a hidden gem in Milwaukee - that paired with amazing food and service from Bartolotta Catering made our night perfect! Thank you Maria and Jon!
Great place and amenities. Beautiful room. Was actually there for a Town Hall with Amy Klobashar, Democrate running for president. Nice event. Been there for weddings and Holiday Brunches in the past. The managers make every event magical at the Grain Exchange
Gorgeous event space. Was here for Cheese Topia. Excellent event, great catered food, too! Parking is easy in tge area, and very close walk to the newer development of shops and restaurants just down the way. Several bathrooms, to help with larger groups. Historically important building. Lovely architecture!
If you have ever seen The Grain Exchange, you know the venue speaks for itself. And if you have ever lived in Milwaukee, you have heard of Bartolotta catering and you know how amazing their service is. Therefore, when we saw The Grain Exchange, we knew we had to have our wedding reception there. The service truly does not disappoint. We started to plan our wedding at least a year and a half before our wedding date. And despite the many emails I sent to Katie and Maria with all of my planning questions that were way too preemptive they handled them very politely and helped keep my nerves at ease.
As the date approached, they helped us plan the small details of our day to make sure we didn’t forget anything. The only thing that we thought could have went a little better is the communication at the very end. So they give you due dates of when all of your final payments are due, which is great. You have to turn in your final counts 5 days before your final payment, which has to be a cashiers check, is due so they can review it, which is great. But they didn’t get back to us right away and we felt like we were scrambling trying to get our cashiers check. We had a slightly unique circumstance in that we had many more people than we ever expected say that they were unable to attend our wedding, so we ended up being below the food and beverage minimum. With the lack of communication at the end of the process, we felt as though we were unable to make the best decisions on how to pay for our open bar and use the rest of that money wisely so we didn’t feel like we were just wasting it.
As for the day itself, it honestly was perfect. We wowed every single one of our guests. Not only that, but we didn’t have to stress about a thing when it came to setting up the venue. Two days before our wedding we had to drop off all of our decorations and tell Maria how we wanted them set up and they took it from there. They also worked well with all of our vendors, including our florist (Shorewood Florist), DJ (Sound by Design), photographer (Dominika Photography), and videographer (David Schulta Videography). The day itself ended up being flawless and we could not be happier with how Maria made it all turn out!
Nice, roomy venue in a historic setting. What looks to be the side door on Michigan is the entryway. The main hall is beautiful.
Thank you to the Bartolotta Group for having their Dicken's Christmas Dinner. We have a small company and this was the perfect opportunity to share our gratitude with our staff. The venue, food, entertainment and most of the Staff made it an amazing event for us. Everyone enjoyed themselves and want to do this again next year.
One of the coolest places in the city. Great place for a big event.
The place and people that run it made it an all around top notch event. My friends had a theme wedding and it only added to the beautiful atmosphere, and delicious food.
Went to the Christmas Dicken's Dinner for a Company Party. It was lovely, the food was perfect, staff were festive, the service was prompt and plentiful, and the festivities were Merry!
