DJ Kevin Whan was absolutely phenomenal!!! We truly couldn’t have hoped for a better wedding DJ experience!!! Second Song’s owner, Rob, is incredibly kind and helpful and made choosing Second Song an obvious choice for us, and DJ Kevin was there with us throughout the entire planning process, helping us create the perfect arrangement of songs from when guests arrive to the very last song of the night. On the day-of, he executed all our craziest ideas flawlessly and had every single guest up on the dance floor all night long!!! Thank you guys so much for making our day so magical!!! 🙏🏼

Second Song LA did a wonderful job at our wedding! They were a referral from our wedding planner. They have a thorough survey and meeting with the DJ that is assigned to your wedding/event. We were paired with Kai and he did an amazing job monitoring the dance floor. If he saw people leave, he would mix up his set to get people back on the dance floor. A great skill! We got married at The Lautner Compound in Desert Hot Springs, Ca. It was really helpful they were familiar with the venue. They brought equipment for (3) different areas - ceremony; cocktail area; and reception. They really aim to please and hope you have the best event ever. 10/10 would recommend them for your next event.

Second Song was super easy to work with. Rob was the DJ at our wedding and we couldn't be happier. When it came time for the dancing part of the wedding, he got the old folks to join in too! Second Song absolutely brought the house down at our wedding and created a vibe that felt like our very own club -- exactly the party we were looking for at our wedding! DJ Andy was amazing to work with the whole time, and worked with us to create the perfect music lists and ambiance. He kept the party going throughout the whole night and you could literally feel the energy humming from the ceremony, to cocktail hour and through the three hours of straight dancing at the reception. Through Second Song, we also booked our mini band with sax, percussion and violin, which took the party to a whole new level and our guests had never seen (or heard) anything like it. All of the performances, as well as the added custom gobo and lighting, really made our wedding perfect and truly the best night ever. Cannot recommend them enough and will absolutely be using them for any of our family events moving forward! Can we do it all again?

What can I say about Second Song. They were absolutely incredible at my wedding! From start to finish they were professional, organized and understood my husband and I’s music style instantly! The owner, Robert, was a pleasure to work alongside with. He matched me and my husband with their DJ, Mac, who was the best! Mac understood the assignment! My husband and I bonded with him immediately and he played the best songs all night long. All of our wedding guests danced the entire evening - no exaggeration! He knew exactly what song to play and when. The hits just kept on coming! There were no slip ups, no song mix ups and no drama over song requests. Mac, Robert, and the entire team at Second Song truly made our wedding the most perfect celebration!

From start to finish, Second Song was extremely professional, communicative, and easy to work with throughout our entire wedding prep process. We hired DJ Mac for our wedding and he was THE BEST. DJ Mac has an infectiously fun and bright personality that helped make our big day as non-stressful as possible! Rob was amazing at making our day special. He went above and beyond to help us when we had to push the wedding during the pandemic. He searched for live bands for us. And was generally very communicative and kind. Connor, our DJ was supportive and fun. He was a great emcee for wedding events, and kept the dance floor full. He did play a song that was on our do not play list. But other than that the night was amazing. Thank you!

My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Second Song. Rob was professional, responsive, and answered all my questions from the very beginning of the process. We knew he and his team would host a great event. And they certainly did not disappoint. We had a string trio, DJ live and DJ. DJ Henry was amazing. His personality and taste in music blended perfectly with ours. He was so on top of everything. We even forgot to include one detail in the schedule prior to our reception and he came running to find us as soon as he saw us to make sure he knew exactly what we wanted. The staff at second song was amazing through out the entire process. When we got patterned up with DJ Marcus it was the best thing ever. He understood the vibes we wanted through the night of our wedding. During every song people were dancing. The dance floor was never empty throughout the night. Also they have a photo booth add on option and it was great. Guests kept a constant steam all night, the photos we got from it are wonderful and silly. I highly recommend looking into second song for you event or wedding!

We couldn’t be happier with the job Second Song did in connection with our wedding reception this past April! During our very first call with us, Rob gave us a sense of confidence because of his familiarity with our venue, and he gave us some useful ideas for our timeline for the evening. Rob then put us in touch with our reception DJ, Kai, who also put us at ease and made us very comfortable with the process. Kai put together a terrific DJ set (including some of the groom’s wackier requests), and worked in guest requests that came in just a few days before the wedding. During the reception, Kai did a fantastic job of keeping the timeline moving, keeping the energy up, editing some of our longer "must-have" songs just right, and handling requests on the fly. Our guests had an amazing time as well - there were always people on the dance floor during the reception! We couldn't have asked for a better DJ!

Second Song was recommended to us by our wedding venue, and I am so glad they were. The entire process could not have been easier or more professional. I truly appreciated the entire team, Rob, Jessica and of course our DJ Mac! Our biggest goal at our wedding was getting everyone on the dance floor and Mac definitely made it happen. Rob at Second Song is truly the BEST DJ EVER! My husband and I are so thankful we hired him for our wedding. We had an amazing experience with Rob from the very first email to him inquiring about availability - Rob always responds promptly, and within 10 minutes we had a meeting set up for later that week to chat! We had a long discussion with him regarding song choices, the music genres we like and the vibe we were going for. He sent us a document where we could add our song choices as we picked them, which was super convenient. Every single music cue at the wedding went flawlessly! And our dance floor was full all night - our guests were raving about how much fun they had! Rob is friendly and fun, easy to work with, very professional and a super talented DJ. We were also able to add on a photo booth to our package which our guests loved. I do not have enough words to write to even begin explaining how amazing Second Song and Rob himself are! I knew when we were looking for music and entertainment for our wedding that it had to be far from basic and be something that people would be talking about whenever they think about our specific wedding night and that is what Rob did for us! His communication was beyond and was able to answer all questions as well as tailor our special day to all of our needs. He provided a quartet for us, a solo acoustic musician as well as all sound and speakers for our ceremony. When it came to the reception it was everything we dreamed of and then more. We had found in all of our wedding planning that a band was not for us, but live music and music in general is one of our favorite things, so we had told Rob that we had seen this thing called DJ fusion and was curious if he would be able to bring this to life for us - lucky us, Rob was already in the process of creating it... and it was NEXT LEVEL! We truly had all the most amazing vibes and music on our big day. The live aspect really turns your special event into something even better. I promise if music is something important to you on your big day, rest assured Rob and Second Song has you covered and you should be booking him IMMEDIATELY. Beyond just live music, his general music and reading the room and our requests was nailed on the head perfectly - If it was something we wanted, he provided - I truly feel so thankful and grateful for all of his hard work and turning our perfect wedding into something I will never ever forget and we look forward to having the chance working with him again when that next special occasion comes up! Second Song was incredible and far exceeded our expectations! First, they were very accommodating and have a client portal for you to easily put in what you are envisioning for the day. We hired them for the ceremony and cocktail hour - string quartet as well as our reception - DJ Ethan. The string quartet did such a lovely job - we requested they play modern music and they were amazing! We received a ton of compliments the next day on how elegant they were. DJ Ethan was incredible! He connected with us a few times prior to our big day to understand our vision - which he made come true. He had all of our guests dancing the entire time!!! Rob and Second Song did such an amazing job - would highly recommend them and would definitely use them for any other event we had!

Cannot recommend Second Song enough! Rob and DJ Joey were super easy to work with. They were quick to respond to our initial inquiry and very proactive during the planning process. Their online portal made it easy to plan every detail (lighting, setup & sound, and song selections/transitions for every section of the night). Joey was an awesome DJ and MC. I cannot express how wonderful Second Song is (both Rob and DJ Kevin)! From the very beginning of our planning process Rob was communicative, clear, and very accommodating. With the range of options from DJ to live musicians, there is plenty to choose from and they have packages that can fit almost any budget and music choice. We went with a DJ for our big day, and loved that we could see quick bios of all the DJs at Second Song - it made it so easy to find someone who fit the style and vibe we were aiming for. DJ Kevin was WONDERFUL. We had the best day, and all of the DJ/sound went super smoothly. Kevin was fun, super thoughtful about reading the dance floor and catering to the vibe, and just all around making it a fun night. We received feedback from multiple guests about how great the DJ was, and even better - feedback that everything was heard super clearly during our ceremony (which is not always the case at recent weddings I've been to). DJ Andy and The Second Song team exceeded our expectations! They were easy to communicate with and thorough in listening to all our requests. They did an amazing job providing a great atmosphere throughout the entire wedding (pre-ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing). BOOK WITH SECOND SONG!! We had an absolutely amazing experience with DJ Kai; he was so helpful during our prep call, flexible with all the last minute additions and changes we had to our reception music, and completely nailed the transition mixes between songs/playlists all night long. We planned a wedding that had 4+ hours of dancing, so we wanted a dance floor that really kept the energy up for us and our guests. Kai was so good at reading the vibe of the floor and picking the perfect song for every moment; there were literally always people on the dance floor at all times throughout the night. Also, the dance floor lights we ordered via our package with Second Song were perfect and totally transformed the venue. Our friends are still talking about how amazing our wedding dance floor was many weeks later!

For your wedding, you want two things from the company that provides your music and audio: 1) great music and 2) an easy, stress free process. Second Song was an amazing choice for our DJ. Rob was so nice and easy to work with, and his tools made it fun to choose a DJ from his team. We chose DJ Mac, and he was everything we could have ever asked for in a DJ! All our guests are still raving about him, as are myself and my wife. He worked with us on our music selections and the flow of the evening, and he kept people dancing until the venue literally turned the lights on. He found some of our more random song requests quickly, and did a great job mixing up songs new and old to keep our various guests coming back to the dance floor. We couldn't be happier after working with Second Song and we were so happy DJ Mac was our wedding DJ - it truly made the night such a blast and amazing experience for both us and our guests!! ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT! Second Song and DJ Rob were unbelievably fantastic. If you have the chance to hire them, don't waste even a second hesitating- DO IT! We live in NYC and for no good reason we decided to organize a 190-person Indian fusion wedding in 2 months on the opposite side of the county. We've said since the start that music and food were the only two things we really cared about. My husband is super into music and was very particular about the vibe we wanted to create and the types of songs we wanted to play- no cheesy wedding songs! When we initially met DJ Rob at our consultation we were struck by how confident and knowledgeable he was- he just seemed to get us and promised he'd deliver. We sent him one video of a day club in Bali and he said he was on it. He met with us on a couple occasions and made himself super available to us but with our full time jobs we honestly didn't have the time to give him much guidance. We didn't even have our recession song, walk in song, or first dance song picked out until the day before the wedding and had numerous last-minute changes which I can't imagine were easy for him to work with. LET ME TELL YOU- HE ROCKED IT. He was charismatic, warm, and had incredible energy. He very kindly met with my aunt separately to coordinate music for the ceremony and didn't miss a beat with transitions. He suggested adding a drummer for the entrance and a live saxophonist to play with the DJ- we were skeptical about the sax but it totally made the wedding. The songs he chose were gold. The dance floor was LIT until it was time to shut down the venue- my burner friends and 93-year old great aunt from India alike were all raging (the latter got out of her wheelchair to dance). I was having so much fun dancing I literally forgot to eat. It's been about 4 weeks since the event and people are still talking about how incredible the music was! We really can't recommend DJ Rob and Second Song enough. During a very stressful time he was responsive, supportive, thoughtful, and made us feel that the music was one less thing we had to worry about. I'm a perfectionist and can tell you about 200 things that went wrong the day of the wedding. I could find zero faults with Second Song. To top it all off, they were very affordable and worth every single penny. It's really all we could have asked for. Rob- THANK YOU for helping us create the most epic day. We're telling all our friends and family about how wonderful you are and can't wait to go to another wedding where you will absolutely crush it!

Rob and his team did an amazing job. The attention to detail they had with the song choices before the ceremony and even during dinner was great. Rob very adaptable, we had mariachi scheduled to arrive at a certain time, but they were late and without skipping a beat, Rob did very well in filling up the time. Also, during the “mother son dance” Rob mixed in a surprise by adding the song one of our Mothers wanted, it was a special touch! The after party upstairs, Ethan did a great job! He played all the songs we wanted and had great mixes. All in all, Second Song did a great job and we cannot imagine anyone else as the DJs and MCs. Thank you for making our wedding special!

From booking through to day of, they made everything simple, straightforward and efficient (a gift for any couple stressing about all the chaos of wedding planning). We hired Second Song to livestream our wedding (omicron was def still a concern then!), and we were thrilled with what they were able to do for us and our virtual guests! For a super reasonable price, they created a really great virtual recording for us and for our guests, which we are able to revisit over and over again. Our virtual guests loved being able to attend from afar, and hiring Second Song to stream our wedding instead of having to figure out how to do it ourselves was literally one of the best decisions we made during the entire wedding planning process. Talk about an infectiously joyful personality and absolute beam of LIGHT! Also an absolute pro at what he does. The lighting and quality of entire experience was absolute perfection. His command of our specific music requests throughout our ceremony and reception was incredible. Our day got some rain and Mac was our HERO, improvising with us and shifting equipment under the patio area where he created an amazing make shift dance floor. We have such real love for Mac and everyone at Second Song, we can't stop reminiscing and expressing our gratitude about the entire experience and Mac was such an important part of it all. We wish we could do it all over again!!

Rob Corrall is the absolute best. He was our DJ for our wedding 9/4/22 and was fantastic to work with. So easy-going, very communicative, the portal and booking process was so easy, his questionnaire was thorough with a lot of info we didn't even think to consider. He always asked thoughtful questions and made recommendations on flow of events for the evening when we asked. We also booked a live singer (Zoie) and a photo booth through Second Song. Pretty epic to have a one-stop shop and not have to worry about booking multiple vendors! Zoie was an incredible way to kick things off, she sang beautifully and played the songs we asked for as guests arrived and throughout cocktail hour. She even learned a few new songs just for us and had a stunning voice. The photo booth was a huge hit (and made everyone look great!), loved the person branding and used those as wedding guest gifts. Now Rob - seriously amazing. He helped us get everyone on the dance floor for the first 20 minutes before dinner and played the perfect variety of music. We also wanted a fun dance party for our friends at the end, and he did that so well. I would encourage couples to only choose a few select "must play" songs because Rob has been doing this forever - he knows what he is doing. Better off to let him do his thing, he is great at giving the dance floor what they need at the perfect time. He was incredibly easy to work with, responded within 24 hours every time, jumped on calls whenever we asked and had a fantastic team. We were really lucky to have him at our wedding, made it incredibly special and highly recommend. If you are considering Second Song, do it!! He made our wedding fun and we received ton of compliments from guests that the music and energy was fantastic.

From our first interaction the whole process was very easy, and they tailored the service to everything we wanted. We used second song for the live ceremony/cocktail music (Blitz quartet), DJ and the photobooth, so they took care of so much for us. The service was really organized, and Rob was super communicative with all the planning. The blitz quartet were brilliant, played a really cool mix of modern songs. We had the string trio for the ceremony and then the drummer set up for the cocktail hour and they made such a great vibe. Rob was a brilliant DJ, he also really helped the night flow well with announcements and introductions. He worked with us on the music choices and incorporated a mix of all the song types we wanted including Israeli, Latin and Indie music, and we could provide our own Spotify playlists to help with the planning. Second Song was truly a dream to work with for our September 2022 wedding! We were introduced through our wedding planner. Rob was so responsive over email and we set up a phone call with him within a week or two. We were immediately sold after our phone call and put our deposit down right away. As the date got closer, we were given a planning form via google doc where all the information in regards to what music we wanted played at different times was kept track of. Second Song had so many great playlists on their spotify page (some of which I still continue to use) which made our decisions much easier. We were then matched with our DJ, Rob Goodmonson. We couldn't have imagined a more perfect DJ! Turns out he had also DJ'd the MOH's wedding and several of her sister's weddings over the last few years. Rob G kept the party going all night long and I have only gotten amazing feedback about how great the music was at our wedding. One other thing about SS that I think is a huge plus is their option to add lighting, cold sparklers, GOBO and photobooth! We ordered all of our uplights through them which transformed our reception area. My Mother in Law surprised us with cold sparklers which really set the dance floor on fire. Lastly, 2 weeks before the wedding I was able to seamlessly add a photobooth via the client portal Second Song provided me with and it was SO easy! It was a HUGE hit and totally worth the money.

I just want to start off by saying YES! Yes, you have to book a Second Song DJ for your wedding or event! From the moment we reached out until the wedding day, we had the best experience. I keep saying I wish I could relive our wedding day over and over again, and Rob was definitely a reason for that. We knew we wanted to finish dancing to our grand entrance song once we reached the dance floor and ALL of our guests joined us. Rob noticed the fun time we were having and played 2 more songs - it was PERFECT! We had the best pre-dinner dance party I've ever been a part of. Even my 99 year old great-grandma was dancing!! The lighting was perfect, our photo booth (we booked through Second Song) was a HUGE hit, and we couldn't have asked for better music. Please book one of their DJ's, you will not regret it!! I used Second Song for my wedding in September of 2022 and they exceeded my expectations! Their CEO, Robert, reached out to me after I requested information and we got on a call. He clearly explained to me how Second Song works and what to expect. They partner with multiple, highly-talented DJs and assign them to events. The DJs try to cater the event to the host and will play as much of your specific music as you want. On the other hand, if you want to explain to them what type of music you like and provide a sampling of it, they can fill in the blanks and curate an entire playlist for you. My fiancé and I were sold so we booked Second Song immediately after our call. We were assigned a DJ and provided with a music planning form (via Google Docs) where we were able to provide all of the details about our event including the schedule, wedding party and speakers. We were able to note what specific songs we wanted played at which points e.g. wedding party entrance, bride/groom entrance, first dance etc. We were also able to include links to Spotify playlists to give the DJ more details on what music we wanted played and when. I think I linked 5 different playlists (e.g. guest arrival, cocktail hour, dinner, dance set 1, dance set 2) and it wasn't a problem. After filling out the planning form, the DJ scheduled a call with me and we talked through all of the details to make sure we were on the same page. About 10 days before my wedding, my DJ had a family emergency come up and had to cancel. Second Song acted fast and immediately found a backup for me, Nick M. My fiancé and I talked with Nick on the phone a couple of days later and he was already up to speed on everything that was going on as he had access to the planning documents and reviewed them thoroughly before the call. We felt like we were in excellent hands. The wedding day was perfect and Nick/Second Song were a huge part of that! Nick and his assistant arrived about 2 hours in advance and got everything set up. As promised, he played mostly the songs I requested via my Spotify playlists and all substitutions were big hits! He also did a tremendous job as MC where he was asked to help get people seated, dismiss tables for dinner and introduce our speakers. I didn't mention before but the party was at my house and at one point, the breaker that the DJ equipment was plugged into popped (blame my old house, not the DJ). Nick/his assistant quickly scrambled and found another place to plug in as we tried to reset the breaker. What could have been a big disaster was averted due to their quick action. Weddings are often very stressful, especially when it comes to coordinating with vendors, and it was nice knowing that I didn't need to worry about my DJ. I can't say enough good things about Nick, Robert and the rest of the Second Song team. They were organized, punctual and effective communicators. I'd highly recommend them for your event entertainment needs in the future!

We had a wonderful jams at our wedding thanks to the Second Song Team and the amazing DJ Kennedy! Due to COVID-19, we wanted to have our wedding outside. However our venue was in a residential area. As a result, we went with a silent DJ option and it was amazing. For just a couple hundred bucks more, we had 2 stations for people to listen to. He asked for clarifications, challenged us to define our tastes, and was a warm, charming presence the entire time. My wife and I took pride in our cobbling together what we liked, but he made it all sound like we planned it. We made a point to be as COVID-safe as possible in the pandemic and Connor was always on the same page about wedding protocols. A few guests tried to pull a few "sneaky song" requests but he very politely hewed to our do-not-play lists. At the end, our greatest achievement-besides hiring him- was showing him a song he liked that he hadn't heard! We ended up planning 3 different events at different venues before finally making it to our big day. Rob and his amazing team worked seamlessly with us with each change. Our first event was a micro wedding with just 28 guests such a great night. Closest of family and friends. Second Song was able to provide our Up Lighting and also held the Zoom event for our extended guests could join( we did have technical difficulties as the audio went out during my wife’s portion of the Vows) Our second event was held one year later for our Anniversary and we were able to invite everyone. DJ Henry worked the guests with his music selection and MC skills and really made the night memorable . They were also able to provide video system for us pre ceremony during cocktail hour that played our highlight video of our original ceremony day . So to make this very long review short , Second Song was about the best choice we couldve made to have join us in celebrating my Wife’s and My special day …. Second Song provided a livestream service so that my family overseas can join the celebration. John Michael who ran the livestream on the day of was phenomenal. He really went above and beyond in making sure that our virtual guests felt they were part of the event. He moved the camera around so that they can have different views and a "walkthrough" of the venue. He was also accommodating and was ready with a mic whenever we felt like interacting with our livestream guests. My family overseas was messaging me during the reception as if they were there because they had a good view of the entire event. They even noticed how hungry my husband was because he finished his food immediately, hahah! We also got our DJ through Second Song. DJ Kai is honestly one of the best parts of our wedding! He was really accommodating in every request we had. We had a Dungeons & Dragons themed wedding so he also worked closely with our officiant (who was our friend and DM) to split MC duties. Our officiant made our wedding feel like a D&D game so we had specific cues for DJ Kai for music and he hit every single one of them on the head. Our whole wedding felt like a real-life movie with all of the soundtrack hitting the right moments. Everyone was also talking about the great playlist and I was so happy to see people on the dance floor who I never knew would dance! Seriously, just hire these guys! I don't know when I'll have another party this elaborate but I'm already looking forward to it because I just want to hire Second Song again!

The DJ and I spoke via phone before the event to discuss the music palette, and I really appreciated the excitement Mac conveyed with regards to helping us have a nice event. We provided the DJ with a playlist to set the overall theme for the dancing (Second Song provides this option, you don't have to provide a playlist if you prefer not to), and he did an excellent job of selecting some songs from the list and matching the vibe with his own selections. The actual execution of the music (i.e., volume, transitions) was great of course. Also, they were super punctual with regards to arrival time, and communication leading up to and during the event setup was excellent. Overall, I highly recommend Second Song and I would use these folks again!

Rob was great in helping us book a package that worked for us and after doing a lot of research, it was the best deal we found as well. With COVID limiting our wedding number, it was important for us to have a live stream we could rely on for our family members and friends who could not attend. Jason was great in helping with that! Everyone who attended the live stream said that it went smoothly. They got 2 different views and the audio was great. We also got a recording of our ceremony after and even got to see the gallery view and see the comments with us. Everything is custom tailored to you, your partner, and your overall vibe of the wedding (or your occasion). We had the pleasure of having Kevin Wahn (otherwise known as DJ Obi Won!!) be our DJ for the day of our wedding. Kevin was AMAZING! He was with us from ceremony, cocktail hour, to reception, to after party, and he did not skip a beat! Me, my partner, and Kevin met prior to our wedding day via google hangout and we went over every type of music we enjoy.. and I swear he NAILED IT. Second Song also makes it super easy to upload your own custom playlists to a google doc if you choose. I had family and friends asking where we found such a great DJ and asking for our playlists. We used Second Song for our wedding in May 21’ and were so pleased with the music, MC’ing, photo booth and uplights. Our DJ was Ralph and he was amazing to work with! Logistically from start to finish, Rob (owner) and Ralph (DJ) were professional, responsive and accommodating especially during Covid. We had to postpone our wedding by 6 months and thankfully they had availability and willingly worked with us on the changes. We had a few virtual meetings with Ralph for introductions and getting a feel for one another and to finalize details as the day approached. We could tell he is a master at his craft and a bonus, a great MC. Ralph was very receptive to our requests for songs and wedding day asks. He was super thorough with questions prior to the wedding and everything was on point in terms of timing and song selections. We weren’t too picky with music and also wanted him to have space to show off his taste and experience in music and he didn’t disappoint. Definitely recommend. Money well spent and everyone had a blast dancing!

When it came time to hiring a DJ/MC for our wedding, we were a bit hesitant because many of our friends' recommendations were either all booked or not working anymore due to COVID. So it came down to looking for one on our own. We had this vision of a DJ/MC who is in a rock-band t-shirt, lugging around a turn table, having giant headphones around his/her neck. When we were introduced by Agnes at A fabulous Soiree and The Grassroom DTLA to Robert at Second Song, we were AMAZED at how professional and easy to work with these guys were. Quick and painless process, here's why you should think Second Song when looking for a DJ/MC: 1. Professionalism. Robert was quick at answering our questions over email and offered us services with no fluff. Prices were reasonable. Not only did we just want DJ/MC services, they also offered packages which included virtual services since some of our international friends and family could not attend. Ralph was able to provide us quickly with a link to both Zoom and YouTube to allow our friends and family early access to make sure they can all view our ceremony without technical difficulty. NONE of my friends and family had in issue with connectivity during our wedding day. 2. The DJ/MC. Kai was an out of this world DJ/MC. Like I mentioned before, we imagined our DJ to be wearing giant headphones, long shaggy hair, lugging around a turn table. Our first DJ/MC hiring experience was completely different in that Kai was in a suit, looking sharp, professional, and easy to work with. We had a moment to chat a little prior to the ceremony and since Second Song has had experience at our venue, the DJ/MC had no issues connecting to the audio equipment and had no hiccups during our night. 3. Great preparation and presence. Prior to the event, our DJ/MC Kai called us to go over song choices, how the ceremony/reception would flow, offered suggestions on how to make the event go well, addressed our concerns, and coordinated with our other vendors such as our Officiant and our Wedding coordinator. During our ceremony and reception, the voice of Kai offered confidence and direction to make sure the night flowed smoothly, ending with top notch music! COVID NOTES: All precautions and safety measures followed. With Second Song, we did not have to worry!

Second Song was wonderful, we received an excellent package deal for our tiny COVID-safe ceremony in late March (11 people including us, the couple) which covered the Zoom livestream, videographer, and DJ. We had quite a big day, with two religious ceremonies and two separate locations - one in Santa Clarita, the other in Woodland Hills. They made it work so well and were on time. Ralph, our DJ, was excellent! He played the music we requested and made the day flow very smoothly and was able to navigate last minute changes without needing our direction, he read the room very well. Timo, our videographer, captured all the important moments of our ceremonies. The first video he made was shorter than we anticipated in the contract, so we followed up and he made a lovely final product that blew us away. I’m really grateful for the attentive customer service. Their staff wore masks and kept their distance as much as possible, which I very much appreciated. We were also given the opportunity to save our Zoom footage as well. They were also easy to get in touch with via phone and email, which is a must for any stressed out couple trying to make their special day flow nicely. We did not use a wedding planner, which made this all the more important and they were there to answer our questions and helped us plan accordingly.

Craig was top notch working with on site - highly recommend a walk through prior to your event as he caught a few things we had missed. He was so easy to work with, understood the larger context of what we were working towards, and had an eye towards that at each step prior to and during the event. Aaron worked really hard that night to make sure everything was just right, and Joey was the perfect DJ!! He immediately got a sense of the crowd and played all the right songs. It was so much fun. I got married this past summer and, while I let my wife do most of the planning, I was adamant that I CHOOSE the DJ. I am extremely picky about music and even pickier about DJ's. An MC/DJ can really make or break your wedding reception. It's the difference between a total rager that no one will ever forget and a blah blah cookie cutter playlist that everyone always hears and no one dances to. To me, you really need a DJ who can play to the room. Someone who has a good sense of who is at the party and what will get them moving and enjoying themselves. Too many times I've seen DJ's playing to the youngest (with raunchy rap or EDM) or oldest people in the room with tired, cliche wedding anthems to the total neglect of everyone else. Rare is someone who *gets* how to play to everyones tastes at just the right moments. Well, I can proudly and enthusiastically say I knew EXACTLY who I'd be hiring for the job. I met one of the DJ's at my cousin's wedding and he freaking ROCKED the house. Not only with music but with awesome MC'ing. I knew immediately (even though I wasn't engaged yet) that this is who I'd be having at my wedding. Fast forward 3 years, I called Rob, founder of Second Song. And just like I'd hoped, he absolutely killed it. He was totally on top of every detail, coordinated with the band, made it so easy and stress-free for me. And not going to lie, all the compliments I got for having such an awesome dance floor didn't hurt. I cannot recommend Rob and Second Song enough. If you're looking to dance, look no further.R

Loved working with Second Sound for our Nov wedding in Palm Springs! Rob was very professional and responsive to questions, emails, etc. We felt very comfortable going with second sound after meeting with him. Our special day went flawlessly :) We chose to have a violinist, Nick, for our ceremony which everyone said was AMAZING! He played fields of gold as I walked down the aisle which was both beautiful and meaningful. As for our wedding - We have a lot of song requests and enjoyed hearing them on our special day. We noticed our DJ, Diego, was great at reading the crowd with his song choices. We had a VERY dance heavy wedding which was exactly what we wanted. Our choreographed first dance, speeches, introductions, grand entrance, all went so smoothly. They say music can make or break a wedding so I probably went a little overboard researching for months and even interviewing a handful of DJ's. I didn't want any sort of cheesy DJ/MC on the mic all night so that ruled out a lot that I came across. One day, my caterer happened to recommend Second Song and from the moment I spoke with Rob, I was sold! He was extremely nice, responsive and reassuring. He sent me a portfolio of potential DJ's and based on their bio, we opted to go with Kai. To keep things organized and make things easier, they sent us a google doc where we could enter all of our bridal party names and music selections for each part of the day (pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, etc). We had a chance to speak with Kai before we committed to Second Song and that just solidified the deal. Even though our music selections were all over the place, Kai did a great job making the transitions seamless. We told Kai this would be a dancing crowd and our music selections reflected that. As it turns out, our friend group is getting older and preferred drinking and catching up with other guests but Kai did an amazing job adjusting. My mom was on the dance floor ALL NIGHT LONG and everything was perfect. Save yourself time and just go with Second Song!
