We absolutely loved this venue! The Cheney staff were amazing with all their help, from preparing beforehand to the day of. It took so much stress off us with there assistance during the day. The place is beautiful on every floor, especially the cocktail/second floor, which every one of our guests complimented. They also allow you to have options for a caterer, instead of only one, which made it possible for us to have one of our favorite meals (nachos!) for the dinner. We highly recommend this venue for others and can't thank the staff/venue enough for everything they did!

This venue is full of fun and different experiences for you and your guests at every corner! So many of our guests after the wedding commented on how beautiful, unique, cool, and fun our wedding venue was! The staff, especially Carmen, are amazing too! We had to postpone a year due to Covid, and they were very flexible and accommodating towards our situation. Due to being pushed out a year, we did have some miscommunications, but nothing that ruined the day. We are very thankful for this crew and romantic, unique venue! It was also so fun picking our vintage furniture for the ceremony and reception! I also recommend upgrading your ceremony to include the chandeliers, some of my favorite touches! Also, the elevator entrance for the bride is EPIC! Was the perfect touch to celebrate our love! And so fun that it's downtown GR!

The Cheney Place is such a wonderful, beautiful place to get married filled with amazing people that will care so deeply about your wedding. We had such a perfect day getting married at the Cheney Place. All our guests raved about the venue and my husband and i can’t stop talking about how helpful and caring the staff at the Cheney place was, especially our day of coordinator Abby who made sure that everything went off perfectly. She coordinated with our vendors and made the day as stress free as it possibly could have been. We also used their Photo Booth service and it was such a huge hit with our guests. Everyone loved getting their photo strips. We cannot recommend the Cheney Place enough.

We just had our wedding at the Cheney Place this past Saturday. We knew the second we toured it in 2021 that this was our venue; Saturday confirmed our decision. The staff is fantastic - coordinating vendors, organizing decor, maintaining the order of events. They worked with our work schedules for meetings and took what inspiration pics we had and created an amazing venue. Our guest raved about the second floor space for cocktail hour and that it is a hidden gem with the nondescript exterior. We would highly recommend The Cheney Place for anyone looking for a venue - great location, minimal decor needed, and AMAZING staff.

We got married at TCP on 9/30/2022 and we were simply blown away by the work they did! Everyone went above and beyond from the very beginning after booking with them. The communication was always seamless and I felt like my vision for the wedding was always heard. The day of, our coordinator, Abby was so amazing.. she spent so much time making sure all of the small details for our day were perfect and they truly were! The day went so smoothly without a single hiccup.. they coordinated with our other amazing vendors and made sure everything arrived on time. I thought the space was beautiful when we first toured but when it was finally set up for our wedding I was almost brought to tears. Just stunning!! We’re still pinching ourselves that we got to have our wedding at The Cheney Place. My husband and I were planning our wedding from Los Angeles and relied a lot on the Internet for our initial planning. We wanted to capture a certain feeling, and our goal for evening (aside from getting married, hehe) was to make everyone we love feel relaxed and taken care of. And we wanted our families to be guests, too, and not have to worry about anything (i.e. teardown the event at the end of the night.) Stellar reviews, unbelievable photos and the fact that the space could contain our big, fat Irish wedding lured us in but we were sold by the positive vibe The Cheney Place owners and staff put out there. You get so much bang for your buck. I couldn’t even fathom what a similar venue in Los Angeles would cost. The staff was attentive and organized from the very beginning. Every email was returned quickly and with care. They’ve seen everything and know how to care for their clients. Their internal business systems work great. I always knew what to expect and when to expect it. Weeks before the event, they gather your vendor list and itinerary and take it from there. (We also got so much positive feedback from our vendors about the staff at TCP.) I was so giddy I’d check the hashtag or check in on Instagram every weekend and see how brides and grooms made that wonderful space their own. I could hardly believe we’d get to join that club soon. The space is gorgeous and well designed. I didn’t fret about decorations because every nook and cranny of the venue is an Instagram buffet. They also had us drop off our details (linens, memory table frames, card table materials, half our centerpieces) a few days before and they took care of assembling. Bonus, they boxed everything up for us to pick up after the wedding. They even helped us get creative when our guest list fluctuated and our Fancy Fray rental plans changed. We had a blast getting ready in the bridal suite and the guys in the grooms lounge. Our bridal party kept saying “I want to live here.” Join the club, I’d say. The staff even helped us pull off a few little surprises — a fun rented dance floor under the disco balls, surprise decorations and signature drinks, etc — all while we were away at the church. We couldn’t wait to show it off to our guests. And it didn’t disappoint. We got so many compliments about how beautiful our wedding was and we loved seeing everyone have fun sneaking selfies or glam photos. The only fragment of a hiccup we encountered was when TCP acquired their own liquor license during our planning time. The choice came after we had a contract with their preferred bar service. Jenna and Ryan, of the venue’s bar service PUNCH, were understanding and helped reach an agreement with a similar quote of our previous agreement. We were very happy with the outcome. One note for the comment box? A couple of the white folding chairs broke during our event. Thank you, thank you to Jenna, Stephanie, Aubree and Ben (and anyone I could have missed, your passion and hard work do not go unnoticed). You have a special space. It’s the amazing backdrop of the greatest day of our lives and your staff helped us achieve our dreams. We and every last guest who celebrated with us were relaxed and well taken care of. Just how we wanted it.

We recently held our wedding reception at The Cheney Place, and we highly recommend you do the same!!! We booked TCP because of how beautiful the space is and how helpful their staff is. We held our cocktail hour on the second floor, which is STUNNINGLY decorated with vintage furniture & decor! The main floor is beautiful as-is, and any decorations you are thinking of adding are sure to look perfect with the space as well. We loved being able to customize our floor plan and choose which vintage furniture was used. We did hire a wedding planner, but our TCP coordinator, Quinn, was so helpful in coordinating with vendors & our wedding planner! Everything went so smoothly during the reception and we are so happy we booked with The Cheney Place!

Whatever you need on your wedding day, The Cheney Place has you COVERED. This venue has done nothing but impress me, going above and beyond since we set the date with them. The team is very responsive and helpful, the venue is beyond gorgeous (everyone that attended my wedding was absolutely gushing about how unique and beautiful it was), and they do everything in their power to make sure that your day goes off without a hitch. I didn't have to worry about a single thing - they took care of it for me! I couldn't recommend The Cheney Place enough. Because of them, my wedding day was everything I wanted it to be and more.

I will add to the litany of glowing reviews for The Cheney Place. It is one of the area’s best venues, and I 100% recommend it. The “vintage industrial chic” vibe is so unique and was exactly what we were looking for–we knew the instant we walked in the door for the tour that this was it. We got so many compliments about how cool and unique the venue was, and that it was as if the place was created specifically for us. But the looks are just the starting point of why the Cheney Place is awesome: -Included in the cost of the venue is the help of the fantastic staff. We had a ton of vintage glassware that went on the tables in a specific order; they set it all up for us beautifully, which I’m sure was extra work for them. They are rockstars. They will do pretty much all of your day-of setup and teardown for you, which is something that none of the other venues I researched in the area do, and I researched quite a few. They literally set all of the tables, put all of the flowers where they should go, set up all of the chairs and ceremony seating, etc. This is HUGE–you and your family won’t have to do any of it. You can also drop off decor earlier in the week, and pick it up the week after. (You do need to take flowers and perishables home with you the night of.) -The staff are also absolute pros at running events. Throughout the planning process, they keep you on track by setting up meetings to confirm vendors, floor plan, etc. with you. They do basic day-of coordination for you, like getting the wedding party lined up on time, and ushering guests to and from cocktail hour. They are also super professional and nice, and they always answered our many emails promptly and kindly. -Cost is right in line with similar venues in the area, but in my opinion a much better value because of all the things that are included in the cost. Pricing for certain days, like the Sunday we had to choose anyway (lots of dates were already filled due to pandemic overflow), was especially affordable and also included some fun free upgrades like fancier ceremony seating and a photo booth. -Included in the cost of the venue is a “rental credit” you get to use to pick out fun furniture from their extensive warehouse of really fun vintage furniture. Again, they move it into place for you day-of, so all you have to do is the fun part of picking it out. It’s EASY–you can get ready there in the lovely space they have for it. Parking is free and fairly ample. If you have the ceremony there, afterward all the guests have to do is walk upstairs to cocktail hour. A couple of considerations that may matter to you: -If you want alcohol, you are required to use their bar service, PUNCH, and the only model they offer is per head pricing. This was not a problem for us because that’s what we wanted anyway, and also PUNCH was great. Since the bar is a permanent in-house feature, it’s decorated all cute, with real glassware that’s included in the cost. -You’re also required to choose from their list of approved caterers (you can get dessert from wherever you want). Again, this was not a problem for us because that makes the choice easier, and this way we knew we were working with a caterer that was familiar with the venue, and which the venue approved of as being quality. -It’s a lower-light venue, which can make photos a little trickier. We just made sure we chose a photographer we knew could handle this kind of lighting situation well.

My husband and I are the only ones that live in GR so we didn’t have a lot of help on the day of our wedding, that’s the exact reason we went with the Cheney place! Their staff is so helpful and makes wedding planning a breeze. They coordinate all day of vendors and plans for you! Such a relief going through them! The perks are pretty much endless, but here are a few that meant most to us: a team of employees who worked hard to set up and tear down our decor so our families could simply be present with us and enjoy the wedding day, incredibly communicative staff throughout the whole planning process, the ability to drop off most of our decor the week before our wedding and pick it up the following week, an absolutely beautiful bridal suite and groom space, a venue that's so wonderful it barely needs any decor to shine, a whole warehouse of vintage furniture to use during our reception... I could go on! There are so many elements of the Cheney Place that simply can't be replicated elsewhere without paying a whole lot more money, and we'll forever be grateful for their attention to detail, kindness, and hard work in creating a perfect wedding day.

The Cheney Place was the perfect wedding venue! First of all, it’s beautiful and unique. Our ceremony was picture perfect, and the cocktail hour seating on the second floor is straight out of a magazine! All of the preliminary meetings with our Cheney Place day-of planner were delightful and stress-free, and everything went off without a hitch! They have a great staff and excellent planners. They even set up and tear down your decorations for you, so we were able to fully enjoy the evening! The Cheney Place also connected us with incredible vendors who all have a great relationship with the venue and work together seamlessly. We can’t recommend The Cheney Place enough!

We had our ups and downs with Covid and our wedding. When our May 2020 wedding was canceled, we were devastated. I was frustrated because The Cheney Place did refuse to refund our money. We even had to reschedule twice. With that being said, our vow renewal and reception earlier this month was a DREAM. I am thankful we decided to go through with our party despite all of the uphill battles we had surrounding our initial wedding. The Cheney Place was amazing to work with through the actual planning process and made sure it was as stress free as possible for me. And the venue itself is stunning!! PUNCH and Fancy Fray were also easy to work with and I would recommend them. We had some complications with BOX on the day of the wedding reception. The machine wasn't printing out the actual photos. However, you could still send the images to your phone. BOX offered us a refund of our final deposit and sent me printed out pictures after the fact that I was able to send to my guests. I was pleased with how they handled that situation. And the photo booth was a blast for us and our guests! Overall, I recommend The Cheney Place! Our day ended up being magical in the end! :)

If they had 6 stars, I would rate them that! The minute we walked into the venue, we knew that was where we were going to spend our special day. Every time we walked into the space, we felt welcomed and trusted. We were able to pop in and walk around the space without feeling watched every minute, and felt that our creativity could fly! The ability hang items from the ceiling, and the endless amount of support from the staff was out of this world. I think so many reasons why my day went so well, was because of Carmen and Megan throughout the entire day. They had it handled. The venue itself was amazing and so so so unique. I loved working with them, but also felt they were the right people to make sure my day went so well. I can't say thank you enough. Between handling the details, planning process prior, and packing all of my items up at night, it made the day amazing. The staff is what sets this place apart. If you are considering going to look here, you'd be silly not to choose it. I mean come on, who doesn't want to come down in an industrial elevator?! Just saying. Thank you so so much! My day was perfect, but wouldn't have gone on without you.

The Cheney Place is an absolutely amazing venue, it's a perfect blank slate that looks great even if you add nothing to it. Their event staff is top notch as well. We got married here earlier this year, in June, and through the entire planning process they were right there to answer any questions, offer assistance and took care of all the crazy day of coordination and happenings. They have so much to offer via their other companies, such as vintage furniture, whimsical cocktails/customizing the bar, a photo booth and endless linen choices. A majority of our outside vendors were excited to hear our venue was the Cheney Place and our guests still rave about it to this day!

Although I was not able to host my wedding reception at The Cheney Place due to covid restrictions, I have nothing but good things to say about them. From start to finish they have been incredibly easy to communicate with and keeping me informed with what was going on. Our original date was May 2020 and they worked with me to push my date out a year, unfortunately restrictions are still in place and we are unable to host our event here. But, they are working with us to help move it off-site. They have eased our stress and everyone has gone above and beyond and been so incredibly kind. Just through my experience as a bride going through a stressful situation I would highly recommend The Cheney place based on there willingness to work with me and their amazing communication!

Our wedding here ran so smoothly! It was so nice having the guests just head to the second floor for a cocktail hour and we received so many compliments about the look of the building with very little decorating on our part. Wow! What can I say, this warehouse like Wedding Venue is a sight to behold! The outside looks like an old run down warehouse abandoned since the Industrial Revolution. The inside, however, is a sight to behold! The service was great, really nice waiters and waitresses. Food was really good too.

My husband and I were supposed to get married here on August 1st, 2020, but obviously we were unable to do so due to COVID. The Cheney Place was nothing but helpful, responsive, and accommodating during this crazy time. They gave us the option to reschedule our wedding, but we decided against rescheduling and ended up having a small outdoor wedding at a different venue. Even though we were unable to have our ceremony at TCP, their staff went above and beyond to help us have the wedding of our dreams. We utilized Fancy Fray's farmhouse tables, gold chairs, ceremony arch, and some other vintage furniture, as well as PUNCH for our bar service. The staff was so professional with delivery & pick up and everything went smoothly. Every single person we spoke with at The Cheney Place was so kind, I can't even imagine what they are going through as a business during this time. We worked mainly with Jenna and she seriously is the best! Anyone working with her to plan their wedding is so, so lucky. She is kind, loving, always willing to help and answer any questions. I felt like I gained a friend after 2 years of planning and replanning a wedding with her :) We love you, Jenna!!! Although we weren't able to hold our wedding here, The Cheney Place will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Attended a reception there. I was so beautiful. There was a cocktail hour first upstairs and the dinner and dancing portion was on the main floor. The staff was amazing as well. They even had a room for nursing mother's with a couch, a changing table with supplies, a sink, and a mirror! Amazing! That is probably the thing I was most excited about and I didn't even have my baby with me, I just used the room go pump. The only thing I didn't like about the nursing moms room was that it was next to the men's bathroom and I had tipsy guys banging on the door once in a while cracking jokes. NOT an ideal location.

My husband and I are so thrilled we chose The Cheney Place for our ceremony and reception! The venue is beautiful and very unique. The artwork, furniture, and light fixtures in the space give it a distinct style. If you like that aesthetic, this is a great place to get married. Many of our guests commented on how much they loved the venue! We actually saved money on decorations because the space is so beautifully decorated on its own. We enjoyed working with Jenna and other TCP staffers throughout the planning process. They were always quick to respond and eager to provide referrals and advice. The day of could not have gone more smoothly. The TCP staff coordinated with our other vendors and remembered and executed every specific detail we asked for. My husband and I were able to relax and enjoy our day knowing that all the details and logistics were in expert hands. I would very highly recommend this venue. Note that they book up far in advance so you will need to plan accordingly!

We were supposed to get married in March 2020 at The Cheney Place but the COVID-19 pandemic prevented that from happening--12 days before our scheduled date. The Cheney Place was really understanding and worked with us to postpone our wedding to November 2020. Over the summer, we decided to get married in a small backyard ceremony. The Cheney Place again came through! We were able to use our Fancy Fray credit and spruce up our backyard with gold chairs, a drink basin, two gorgeous accent tables, and a loveseat. The vintage pieces really transformed and elevated our space! We worked with Jenna and she kept us informed of our options and helped us navigate our planning throughout the summer. We even got to meet her when she delivered the Fancy Fray furniture! Given the current state of the pandemic, we were offered another fallback date for November 2021. Hopefully we'll have a chance to hold our reception and celebrate with all of our guests safely next fall!

Audrey and the staff at Cheney Place are AWESOME! We hosted our 2014 Christmas Party there and the venue lent itself perfectly to our Roaring 20's theme. Audrey was attentive to our needs and always went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. The night of the party she was there and stayed the whole time. She was always happy to assist us in any needs we had. We would highly recommend this venue for a plethora of events. Don't let the outside deter you! My cousin got married at The Cheney Place. Was a gorgeous renovated old factory with cool decor. Older chandeliers amongst vintage coaches and chairs gave it a really cozy atmosphere. Decent size dance floor with plenty of room of seating for I would guess around 300+ guests. It was 2 stories tall with a lounge and bar on the second story. First story was used as the reception area and then converted to the dinner hall.

This is a beautiful place for a wedding or reception. My sister had her reception here. It is nice for larger weddings. The price had gone up a lot since it opened but very nice. Cool elevator for photo booth. I like the old wood and brick look. I like how much space their is and all the things you can rent with the venue. Very nice.

It was the perfect venue for my nephew's wedding, but also worked well for the filming of Hoodwinked by Karen Ehman and Ruth Holden. The staff/service was excellent.

We got married at TCP on 12/7/19 and we would do it all over again 100 times over. BOOK EARLY! This is a hot venue for good reason. Our coordinator Stephanie was sweet, organized and thorough throughout the 1.5 year planning process. Every question answered (some before I even asked them), every accommodation made and every worry subdued. The venue is beautiful and very little decor is needed which is why we loved it! Less work! They also assist with set up and tear down for you (try finding a venue like that anywhere else!). Because the venue is so popular I was worried our experience would've feel unique or special (there was literally a wedding the night before ours) but they really put all their attention and love into YOUR special moment that you feel like the only bride of the year. Going down the freight elevator is a must! Getting ready onsite in the suite, also a must! Do it all, you won't regret it. Just take every moment in because you wont want it to end. My grandma is still texting me things like "I can't believe how neat that place is!" :) Do it. Just do it.

Delightful venue and a photographer's playground with over a dozen photo-op set-ups from the sublime to the advant-garde. Attended a wedding on the first floor, a reception on the second floor, with a third floor open for more. Each level is customizable, from pews to portable bars, as well as restroom facilities. Lots of history as this is a converted factory and warehouse into a reception hall. I'm told weekends booked 2-years in advance, so make your plans early!

It's a pretty cool and edgy venue, and the staff is super helpful. I played with a string quartet and the sound was okay, it's an open space so it created kind of a sound vacuum but all the guests could hear the music just fine and the decor was beautiful.

I can’t say enough about how truly AMAZING our experience was at The Cheney Place. The place in itself is a beautiful mix of vintage and modern decor; the second floor cocktail space decked out in antique couches, mirrors, buffets, lighting fixtures and artwork, and the first floor reception space with bricks walls and wood beam ceilings. Every single guest at our wedding remarked on how much they loved the space. Jenna and her TCP team were always available to answer questions along the way (for the do it yourself wedding planner that I was), and on the day of they paid attention to all details. Don’t worry about having to set up or take down your decorations, because they cover that as well. From the morning of, getting ready in the pristinely decorated bridal room, to the photos (we had studio 6.23... TCP owners and all around awesome people...whom I also recommend), and finally the ceremony and reception, it was the best day ever! Thanks TCP!

The staff is incredible to work with and beyond flexible with timing, new ideas, etc. On top of being able to use an amazingly unique and raw venue, Fancy Fray is in house to provide fabulous vintage furniture! The venue is nice looking and the event went off without any major problems but the company seems like it wants to nickel and dime you to death. they constantly changed their policies on us during the course of planning our event and did not feel the need to contact us regarding these changes. we would go to a meeting only to find out how things have changed and have to deal with them at that point. the set up time stipulations are pretty dumb and if it wasn't for there not being an event the day before it would have been a major pain in the butt to set things up literally right before the wedding ceremony. something about working with them urked me the wrong way.
