The complement we received the most often and are still receiving from our wedding is about how amazing our food was at our reception at The High Five GR. Maddalena’s knocked it out of the park and blew all of guests away. This was no small feet since we had some tough critics in our group with many of them working in the food and beverage industry and we also had a significant amount of food allergies. My best wedding advice is to trust the professionals you hire. I knew wanted a plated meal and was hoping for steak to be my beef option but Matt, the chef, knew better and expressed why the braised beef short ribs was the better plated option. I trusted his knowledge, experience, and talent and I couldn't be happier that I did. And you can't review Maddalena’s without mentioning Amy. Her reputation for customer service proceeds her, and rightfully so! Every compliment you read and hear about her is true! Maddalena’s certainly earned the 5 star review!

We used Maddalena's for our catering for our wedding this fall. I have nothing but positive things to say. They have a dynamic duo between Amy handling all things for the customer and Matt the genius behind the food. I was a type A bride and had a very specific vision for my wedding. Amy & Matt worked with me to help create my vision with a beautiful charcuterie/grazing table. I was also very nervous about the timing of our plated dinner being served but the wait staff the day of were on top of it. Matt's recommendations for food plated style were on point. Our guests raved about the food the next day. All to say, I cannot thank them enough for working with me and responding to my endless emails to make this day extra special and perfect for us. I highly recommend Maddalena's, Amy, and Matt for any future catering needs.

My wife and I were impressed with Maddalena’s from our very first meeting at the tasting. The food was incredible, and we especially appreciated the thoughtfulness of the chef when it came to ingredient sources, preparation methods, and the like. Amy was great to work with, and despite being very busy, she answered all of our emails and questions with great care and detail. Our guests absolutely loved the food as well, so much so that it was one of the biggest talking points both during the reception and in the weeks that followed. Whenever we had concerns pop up, Amy was always willing and able to find ways to make things work. Overall, the food and service were excellent, and we would definitely recommend Maddalena’s to anyone!

From start to finish, working with Maddalena’s was incredible. We held my daughter’s bridal shower at their venue and everything was amazing. The food was delicious and the chef was beyond accommodating for food allergy requests. We also hired them for the wedding reception and could not be happier. Again, the food was delicious and the staff was wonderful to work with. They did such a great job making sure the buffet was fully stocked, dishes were cleared and offered to help in any way! I truly enjoyed working with Maddie and she made sure everything turned out exactly how I wanted you to it! Will definitely be using them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for catering services!

I cannot recommend Maddalena’s enough! Amy was amazing at responding quickly to emails and phone calls. We booked with Maddalena's for our wedding on 8.13.22 and the FOOD WAS AMAZING! We got so many compliments on our food! I am still dreaming about the yummy foods! We had a charcuterie board for cocktail hour and for dinner we had airline chicken, sirloin, and salmon! Everything was cooked perfectly and served hot! Book with them if you want amazing food at your wedding for a good price! We had originally booked with another caterer and were panicked when we went to our tasting and the food was horrible! Amy and Maddalena’s saved our wedding day and now we will be loyal customers for life!

Maddalena’s is incredible. First off, Amy is a star. I loved working with her, and she went above and beyond to make sure that our menu was perfect for the day of. With all of the complications that COVID brought on, she worked hard to not only cater to our family tables, but to me as well. I ended up with food poisoning from the rehearsal dinner vendor, and could not eat anything on the day of the wedding. Amy and her staff made sure that I had food packaged up to take home, and boxed up some of the late night snack for me. Truly amazing and so thoughtful. Now for the food. After speaking with our guests that attended the wedding, Maddalena’s food was the top on their list. Many said that they’ve never had wedding food as good as ours was. My husband and I definitely echo that sentiment. Everything was absolutely perfect. Thank you!!

We used Maddalena's as our wedding caterer, and got SO many compliments on how good the food was! We knew from the menu tasting it would be amazing, but they executed the buffet really well on the day of (especially for being off-site), and everyone was really pleased. Amy was easy to work with and very knowledgeable. Their food is definitely a step above other catering companies in Grand Rapids, in style/presentation, taste, unique menu options, etc. You may pay a bit more, but it's TOTALLY worth it (you get what you pay for, and for us, food was a big priority for our wedding). We didn't use their alcohol services, so I can't comment on that, but food was awesome!!

Maddalena's was an AMAZING catering service for our wedding! We got so many compliments on the food and still have people commenting on just how great everything tasted. They not only served dinner at our reception, but also cut and served the cake, and provided a lunch on the day of before the ceremony for our bridal party. Amy was nothing but professional and efficient. Matt was also wonderful to meet. It was very clear from the tasting that they truly care about their company and the food they serve. My husband and I are big foodies, so seeing their excitement about the menu made the choice easy on who to pick as our caterer. Planning anything during a pandemic is difficult, but Maddalena's made it easy and fun! Everyone with a food allergy or preference was served individually (including myself!), they were on time and the food was DELICIOUS! We highly recommend Maddalena's as your next caterer for any event! :)

Maddalena's was AMAZING! I work for a law firm downtown and do tons of catering, these guys are doing it right! Maddie was very prompt in communication and able to accommodate all of the needs we had for a large ArtPrize reception, the food was well priced, fresh and delicious and provided a great variety, the bar and staff were very friendly and well equipped to make the night run smoothly, they are a well oiled machine and we look forward to working with them again soon.

We booked Maddelena’s for our daughter and SIL’s wedding prior to even doing a tasting based on Google reviews and are so glad we did! They were our best wedding vendor. Amy was so helpful all the way through the process. The food and drinks were creative and incredible! They worked with us closely to choose food and drinks and even recreated a special couples choice drink. Their charcuterie boards are works of art. So many guests commented that it was the best wedding food they had ever had. You can not go wrong with Maddelenas!

Amy has been absolutely FANTASTIC to work with! We had to make significant changes to our wedding this year due to the COVID pandemic and Amy worked with us to ensure our much smaller gathering went as smoothly as it possibly could. She also arrived early to help with setup so I wouldn't need to worry about it. My husband and I will be using Maddalena's next year for our big reception when it is safer to do so. The food is delicious, the staff are incredible, you can't go wrong with booking your caterer as Maddalena's!

Maddalena’s was hands down the BEST vendor we worked with while planning our wedding. Amy (the event coordinator) was amazing in making us feel so in control of planning- something we didn’t get from many vendors during COVID, and Matt (the Chef) is extremely talented and personable and made our tasting experience memorable. Our guests are STILL talking about the food, it was delicious, hot, and the portions were generous- everything you need/want when feeding your guests. I would recommend Maddalena’s to anyone looking to plan an event, it will be the easiest decision you can make and will not regret it!

Let me start by saying, I'm a Covid bride. I was originally supposed to get married May 2020, and had 3 dates in between, and then finally got married on August 1, 2021. Maddalena's was always my first choice for our wedding food, and when we had to switch venues, I wanted to ensure that I kept them for my new venue location. Amy Baird and the team over at Maddalena's stuck by my side for over TWO YEARS to ensure they were there for me on my big day. I received encouraging emails from Amy, check-in's, and updates. She was so communicative and always so positive. Amy is the real deal - someone who truly wants you to have your magical day and will do anything she can to ensure you will. If I could personally endorse Amy for President, I would. She is THAT good. Now, onto the food. From our first tasting, we were blown away by how incredible the food was. You know how you attend some weddings and it just tastes...like wedding food? Bland, nothing special? NOT WITH MADDALENA'S! Their food is absolutely phenomenal. We had a chicken, beef and salmon option with the best potatoes, I truly don't even know what was IN those potatoes but I'm convinced it was heaven. The couscous, the vegetables...it was all so freaking good that my taste buds are still salivating. Our guests RAVED about the food, saying it was the best wedding food they have ever had. They went out of their way to provide a vegan meal for a bridesmaid of mine, and kept the buffet line flowing and our guests happy. I mean, I just want to do our wedding day over and over again thanks to them. Please, PLEASE use Maddalena's for your next wedding or catering event, you will not be disappointed. And if you have the absolute pleasure of working with Amy and her team, you are in the best hands. I gained a new friend in Amy, and I'm so impressed with her and Maddalena's that I'm recommending them to everyone. Thank you guys for everything!!!!

Maddalena’s is the absolute best! Wedding planning can be so stressful, but Amy (event coordinator) and her staff made sure that everything was perfect. We had no idea where to start and needed a lot of direction, but Amy was patient and guided us step-by-step throughout the entire process. To start, the team was professional, organized, communicated regularly with us and was a dream to work with, especially Amy, the events coordinator. She went above and beyond to help us change our wedding reception needs multiple times due to the pandemic. During a season where so many vendors were met with challenges on how to meet clients needs, Maddalena’s made sure we never experienced any of that stress. Absolutely amazing! We’ve all had bad wedding food, so so wedding food and then just what’s to be expected for wedding food. Maddalena’s is none of those- everyone raved at our wedding this past month about how surprisingly delicious the food was! It truly made all the difference to go with them for our reception! Maddalena’s catering goes above and beyond what you would expect for wedding catering, from their modern and varied menu to their flexible, affordable price and service! Their bar service is also great- very easy to choose from packages and pricing and great bar tending service! Definitely recommend.

The best part about my wedding was the food & drinks and that is all thanks to Maddalena's! Amy has been a dream to work with - she was there for me every step of the way. She was always available when I had questions and helped me to create my dream wedding menu. She was so personable that I felt like I was working with a friend. Our wedding was at The Cheney Place and Maddalena's has tons of experience catering there so cocktail hour and dinner service went absolutely perfectly. We had a nice assortment of appetizers for cocktail hour (get the bacon wrapped scallops, you won't regret it!) and a three course meal for dinner. We had almost 300 guests and service was so smooth that we felt like we were in a fine dining restaurant. A couple months prior to the wedding, I had my bridal shower at the new Maddalena's banquet hall in Standale which was also a plated meal. It is an adorable space. I highly recommend it for showers, birthday parties, rehearsal dinners, etc. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Maddalena's. Our wedding guests are still raving about the food and drinks weeks later! Thank you for everything!

I am so thrilled that we hired Maddalena's as the caterer for our wedding! Right off the bat, I was impressed with the choices on their menu and with our contact at Maddalena's, Amy. I cannot stress enough how amazing Amy was to work with. She was very quick to respond to emails and very thorough in her responses. She was easy to work with and had a ton of great ideas! At our tasting, she suggested some really fun ideas around the cocktail hour and late night snack. One thing you should know is that you are not necessarily limited to the menu that is on the website. Amy helped us customize some of the meals and also sourced special items, like popcorn for our popcorn bar and donuts and cider, from vendors around Grand Rapids. We found the pricing to be very reasonable compared with other caterers in the area and the quality of the food was excellent. Our guests raved about the food and felt that it really made our day unique. On the wedding day, everything went exactly as planned and not a single detail was missed. I sincerely cannot recommend Maddalena's highly enough.

Maddalena's was the perfect spot for me to host a bridal shower! It's a great location to the airport for those traveling from afar, and easy to find! The building itself is very cute on the inside, and tastefully decorated to host a variety of events. I can't say enough great things about the staff at Maddalena's. Amy, the event coordinator, was AMAZING and incredibly helpful for my event. She responded very promptly to any questions I had, and her and her staff were extremely helpful the morning of, as we had some people last minute unable to help with set-up. Her, and two of her employees, were kind enough to offer us help in any way that they could. Lastly, the food was delicious! We had half wraps, with their homemade chips (which may be the best thing I've ever tasted), spinach salad and fruit salad, with a sangria bar. All of the guests raved about the food and how delicious it was! The turkey pesto wrap was definitely my favorite! I really can't say enough great things about Maddalena's, I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great caterer as well as an adorable event space!

There aren't enough good things to say about Maddalena's Catering - they are INCREDIBLE - specifically Amy (Event Coordinator) and Matt (Chef). They made the entire process from the first tasting to the day of the wedding so stress free and fun. They actually helped us cover things we haven't even thought of. Our guests literally said they were too full at the wedding because things were so good that they couldn't stop eating! Every single dish was what you'd expect at a high end restaurant! Highly recommend - oh and be sure to get the late night pizza because that was also such a hit!

I dealt mainly with Amy to have Maddelena's Catering do the catering for our wedding. I was more than pleased with the food & service provided. Several of our guests remarked that this was the best wedding food they ever had! I strongly recommend the sirloin which was cooked to perfection and the chicken roulades which had an absolutely delicious stuffing! I know that they were extremely busy & were short staffed...but no one would have guessed! We were very well taken care of! Thank you Amy & Maddelena's!❤️

I cannot stress enough how AMAZING Maddalena’s is. Due to COVID, we had to change our date and Amy was right in top of it for us. She was able to manage all of our changes and also all of the changes that were happening at the state level; needless to say our numbers changed drastically and more than once. She was always available to schedule a call with me to walk through things but honestly, that was more for my peace of mind and less for her. She was so ahead of all the details and made my job of “planning” the wedding a million times easier. It also turned out that our venue utilized her and her team for the bar and THEY WERE INCREDIBLE there too! So easy to work with, so personable and the food was absolutely incredible. We recently had Maddalena’s cater the food and provide bar service for our wedding, and we couldn’t have been more thrilled with the amazing job they did! All of our guests commented on how delicious the food was and how much they enjoyed it. Every detail was taken care of and everything went perfectly! We felt that their prices were extremely reasonable, and we loved that our buffet package included appetizers served during cocktail hour, table service, cake service, and linens. We also appreciated being able to customize our bar package and add signature drinks to show off our personalities. Their catering coordinator, Amy, was an absolute DREAM to work with!!! Partnering with her was our favorite part about hiring Maddalena’s, which is saying a lot because the food was delicious! She was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and helpful, which allowed my fiancé and I to feel completely confident that everything was under control. She went above and beyond to help us in so many ways: she created a separate kids’ buffet for our younger guests, customized our bar package so we got exactly what we wanted at a great price, and stepped in to avoid us having the wrong color table linens when the linen company goofed up (without me even knowing about it until afterwards!) We can’t recommend Amy and Maddalena’s outstanding food and service enough!

They made the process so easy with all of our changes and the accommodated our needs, often on extremely short notice. In a very difficult time for us to get things together, they went above and beyond to make sure everything went off without a hitch when we finally were able to celebrate. My now-husband and I chose Maddalena's Catering company as our covid plan B wedding caterers, and I couldn't have been more happy with my experience with them! First off, Amy, the catering manager, did everything she could to serve us in a short notice, even though they had other wedding that day. We met with her and got an in-person menu explanation, then taste testing with the chef, Matt. He was so knowledgeable about what meals travelled well and all the food he prepared. When my husband didn't like the topping on the chicken (since he doesn't like mushrooms, even though I LOVE mushrooms), the chef was willing to switch the sauce with the one we both loved. The week of the event, Amy and her assistant came out to my private resident venue (yes - my covid venue) and scoped out the best spot for the buffet line and serving stations. She dropped off the linens for us prior too and was willing to pick them up after the event was done. On the day of the wedding, Amy offered to get my husband and I our plates so we didn't have to stress about waiting in line! HOW AWESOME! Seriously they went above and beyond in ever way possible. Also, to top it off... they have the option of doing late night pizza delivery... which we did and it was amazing! 10/10 recommend them, and sooo glad I did my "Covid wedding" because it was better than my original plan thanks to Maddalena's.

Maddalena's catered our reception of 170+ people... all were fed hot, delicious food in a timely manner. They even catered our rehearsal dinner in their own space. And that FOOD! OMG. Seriously, if you want to break out of the traditional boring wedding food, THESE ARE YOUR PEOPLE. My wife and I wanted to be sure that the food was memorable and we were providing out guests with something not only delicious, but unique. Amy and their team surpassed our expectations. The food was delicious and everyone, even the picky eaters were diving in. Amy is incredible to work with. She never made me feel like a nag, responded to EVERYTHING so quickly, and made everything a breeze on the actual day of the wedding. If you do not book them, you're a fool. ha!. AMAZING.

When we first started reading reviews of Maddalena’s Catering we were wondering why every post mentioned Amy, now we know why! Maddalena’s catered our wedding reception and the experience from beginning to end was phenomenal. Amy was more than accommodating with our special requests and went above and beyond to ensure our menu was exactly what we wanted on our big day, as she had the chef prepare non-menu items for us. She was an excellent communicator and even responded to our emails when she was on vacation! She could not have made us feel more special on the day of our wedding. She was at the venue from start to finish ensuring every detail we planned with her was executed. She was the first to come up and ask us what we wanted from the bar as soon as we sat down, she surprised the bride with a special entrée (she remembered how much we loved it during the tasting!), and even had a whole pizza waiting for us at the end of the night! Amy was like a ninja; she was there to catch anything (literally – the brides fork dropped and she was there with a new one before we knew anyone noticed), so that every detail went smoothly. We had so many guests comment about how amazing the food was during the event and many are still talking about it after. Choosing all your bar options can be overwhelming but Amy made the process so smooth and always made us feel welcome to ask as many questions as we needed. Their prices are affordable compared to the other quotes we received, and working with Amy as well as the excellent service from the whole team just tops the cake!

Maddalena's hosted my daughter's high school graduation open house and did a fabulous job! The venue itself is warm and inviting, creating a comfortable, intimate atmosphere for all guests. There was plenty of parking available for all guests. We had approximately 150 people attend. The venue offers a great variety of food options. The food itself was displayed in an appitable manner and everything tasted delicious. We received many compliments from several guests on both the venue and the food. The staff did a tremendous job keeping all food items stocked and ready for the fluctuating guests, keeping plates cleared, tables cleaned, and guest's needs met. They had (3) televisions displaying the slide show I prepared. Their friendly and accommodating staff took care of everything and allowed me the freedom to greet and converse with guests and enjoy my daughter's party. It's a perfect, reasonably priced, and stress free option for any event! I highly recommend Maddalena's.

Amy's was excellent to work with and was very accommodating. She assisted us in customizing drink and food orders. She ordered us a special beer from a Muskegon brewery. She even helped us put together a photo slideshow last minute. Many people commented about the good food and fun they had. There was just the right amount of communication on site when needed to help the event run smoothly.

Selecting Maddalena's to cater our wedding was the easiest decision I made through the whole process. Amy was so responsive and set us up for a tasting early in the process and the food was stellar. We moved forward with selecting a buffet option with some add ons and I'm so happy we did the buffet. Guests were so excited to have options!!! The apps were also a big hit and we're still hearing from guests how delicious everything was. The salmon was my favorite and my husband loved the crab rangoon tacos, but everything was amazing. I was so impressed that the food tasted exactly how it did for our intimate tasting when done for a huge group of people! We also opted for Peppino's late night pizza and that was a great addition for our guests.
