Honestly THE best decision I made while wedding planning was hiring the Honey&Joy team. Aleah, Karla and Madison were fabulous to work with and made my vision a reality. The team from Honey and Joy, led by Karla, Aleah and Madison, made my daughter's dream wedding weekend come true. These ladies shared their knowledge and expertise of the wedding industry in the Des Moines area with us. They guided us in choosing the proper venues and vendors for our event. In 4 short months, they helped us plan the perfect wedding rehearsal, ceremony, reception and morning after brunch. We not only used their advise to design the venue layouts but also the decor--from an amazng wedding arch, centerpieces, place settings, dessert shelves, stationary to the beautiful welcome and lounge signs. Once the decisions were made, they then brought the plan to life. With all hands on deck, for 3 days they tied bows, set tables, assisted the vendors and made sure we had everything we needed. Where to begin? Karla, Aleah, Madison, Katie and the rest of the Honey & Joy Events team made my wedding weekend an absolute dream come true. I am still speechless to how beautiful a day it turned out to be. Honey & Joy helped us from day one and in four short months of wedding planning they assisted us in making big decisions from event spaces to vendors for our weekend. They helped us design and decorate the gorgeous space at Toast in Ankeny – florals, centerpieces, place settings, stationary, and signs. Honey & Joy was able to take my vision and make it become better than I could have ever dreamed of. Karla, Aleah, and Madison are very professional and helped make wedding planning a breeze. I cannot thank you enough for making it the best weekend of my life (and Brent’s too).

Karla is THE BEST wedding coordinator you can get. She was our wedding coordinator on June 1st, 2019. It was absolutely stunning. Everything went so smooth and flawlessly. She went above and beyond in many ways to make sure everything about out wedding was perfect. Karla is very thoughtful and creative. I can't explain how much we appreciate everything that she has done for us. Without Karla, I don't even know how we would've enjoyed our wedding weekend. If you are getting married, trust me you DO need a wedding coordinator. And that needs to be Karla, because she's the THE BEST in every way. Don't think twice!

My daughter, Makenzie, was our first child to get married. I had no idea where to start in helping her plan a wedding. So we decided to hire Honey and Joy to be the event coordinators. It was the best decision we could have made! Karla, Aleah and Madison were truly amazing. The wedding took place in Iowa City which is two and a half hours away from our home town. They were very familiar with the community and gave us the best options and advice for various vendors. From “save the dates” to invitations and signage to floor plans our dream vision became reality. What we appreciated most is how calm and patient they were throughout the whole process. They were so creative and very professional in all encounters!! In addition, ensured all details were completed as wanted. Would rate Karla and her team more than 5 stars if I could - they’re truly the best and go above and beyond! I booked Karla back in 2019, for partial planning; she gave recommendations for the best local vendors, helped review my vendor contracts, came up with a design plan (not to mention decreasing my stress ten fold as the professional guidance is soooo worth it) and everything was finalized....and then the pandemic began - Karla ENTIRELY replanned our wedding from August 2020 to April 2021, arranging everything within a day or two of our decision to move dates. Karla and her team are so motivated to help you along with the exciting process of wedding planning, their eye for design is absolutely amazing and your day will be so so so gorgeous, and the team keeps your timeline on the day of running smoothly. My husband and I were originally on the fence of “do we really need a wedding planner” - if you’re feeling the same, please just invest in the peace of mind that Karla and her team will bring you so that you and your partner can enjoy the wedding planning process, and the day of, as you enter the stressful next few months. They helped me throughout my entire planning process and I was never stressed because they literally did everything.
