We attended a wedding recently at this venue and had a great time. The name fits the theme and vibe they have going for them. The hardwood everywhere makes it feel like a beautiful older establishment. I would like to give a shoutout to the bartenders working. They were all very friendly, attentive, fun, and helped contribute to a great evening and event. I would recommend this place just on those 3 gentlemens service alone. I know nothing about the venue (booking policies, cost, etc.) and only attended as a guest so keep that in mind too.

My husband and I recently had our wedding at Decades! We got married on sight, and went right into our reception keeping everyone in the same place! They offer a woman’s and men’s dressing room, which were perfect for getting ready for the big day! Kale is an absolute dream to work with! He is incredibly responsive, and on it in every aspect. We received so many compliments on how amazing the space is, and how great the bar staff was throughout the night. I highly recommend Decades for weddings and any other special events.

1000/10 recommend Decades to anyone getting married! Kale was amazing to work with throughout the entire process. He made things simple and answered all of our questions and provided us his advice— he even helped bustle my dress after the ceremony. We received SO many compliments from our wedding guests about the venue. The decor rentals and bar packages they offer are hard to beat! Our day wouldn’t have been as perfect as it was without Decades!

Decades was an amazing venue to hold or wedding ceremony and reception - we can't recommend it enough! Kale and his staff was super easy and fantastic to work with, both before and during the day of the wedding. We had an overwhelming amount of comments from our party and guests how unique and fun the venue was. Do yourself a favor and check out Decades for your wedding venue; you'll be happy you did!

Went to a wedding here and it was absolutely gorgeous! Great venue, and the rooms for the bridal party to get ready in were great! (Could use a little deep cleaning but overall not bad) bathrooms were clean and smelled nice. Overall had a great experience here for my friends wedding

Our food was just ok. Wifes plate had some tortillas and we both swear they smelled like soap. The service was very good however and the beer selection looks quite good.

I had my wedding here mid April. I had to move venues due to covid & was super lucky that they had my date open. Kale was so awesome to work with! He is so nice & def knows what he is doing! They had just made a lot of updates prior to my wedding & the place looks amazing!! The location is great. I also loved the bridal/groom suites! 1000% recommend having an event here!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. My husband and I had our event here over Labor Day weekend and even got to include our cats in our wedding ceremony. Kale was the best and very easy to work with. He answered all questions, was super friendly and bubbly, but still genuine. Everything was perfect and he puts full effort to assure it goes as planned, even amidst Covid. Their bar staff was also super friendly and assured everyone was taken care of. Seriously no complaints. The venue is beautiful and rustic with the most adorable antiques to be displayed. They have an array of choices or you can do a mixture of styles. There’s ample parking and they are close to the art center for more pictures. If you want the least amount of stress and have a wonderful time, I would definitely book here!

What a cute place!! And the staff went above and beyond for us. We had our wedding here and it was truly picture perfect. Kale helped us throughout the day when we needed little things (extension cords, extra chairs, etc.). During the ceremony he walked us through everything. He led us to where we needed to stand for the grand entrance, he stopped to make sure my dress was perfectly trailing behind me, and he even fixed a flyaway with my hair. He was a perfectionist in all the right ways and really made my night one to remember. The bar staff was friendly. They had quite a large array of beverages to choose from. We ended up doing a soda package for practically nothing and our guests could have free pop all night. The liquor was stocked and they had fun drinks in their menus if we couldn't decide on our own what we wanted. The bridal and groom suites were clean and elegant. I was jealous of my husband's though because he had a big couch and a TV with cable. So there he was relaxing away while I was busy fixing makeup and hair. He thought it was great. 10 out of 10, would recommend Decades for your next event. They were next level.

Decades was a beautiful venue for our wedding reception. It has so much character and our guests absolutely loved it. The bar/alcohol was pleasantly priced and the team took care of set up/tear down for almost everything. The event director, Kale Smith, was a dream to work with! He was very helpful in walking us through everything and making sure it all went smoothly. Highly, highly recommend this venue!

Venue is great for a big gathering - we probably had about 100 people. The set up is really nice, with the bar at one end and plenty of space for dining at tables, buffet line, etc. Could also have a band and dance floor area. Very versatile space!

I recently visited this space for the "Most liked person in Des Moines", and the space worked really well. Lots of room, friendly staff at the check in, coat check and good parking. Band was a little loud, but I'm not sure who is responsible for that. Would recommend for events that might need space for 100 plus people.

Pickers is a fun place to look at decades old items. Could spend 3-4 hours here. Some stuff overpriced which is always expected in these places.
