Reviews of Newport Music Hall
Afton Holfinger
Great venue. It was very cold so dress warm for winter shows. They even had NA beer options which you don't always find at concerts. I've been going to the Newport for years and it looks the same. No upgrades but still a cool spot that feels intimate for shows.
Jeffery Brooks
Great older venue! Good sound quality! Male bathroom by stage and female bathroom upstairs. Exit to the outside is a small area. Good drink options and good prices. Good place to check out love music.
John Davis
I had a great time. House system was perfect volume for headlining act. Light systems were pretty decent for a smaller venue. Great acts booked. I'll never forget the girl in a wheelchair crowd surfing!! I forgot how much I enjoyed this place. (Need to allow smoking at all shows though...)
PGH Live Music
Trevor Hall and Gone Gone Beyond show
Was good. Drinks fairly priced. Sound was on. Wasnt anywhere to sit and allot of obstructing pillars but overall a nice venue. Would recommend getting a instagram account
Noah Andrews
Much like a T.A.R.D.I.S it’s bigger on the inside! Newport is really cool and with a pit, balconies, and plenty of extra room so you can see whoever is on stage. Great venue!
Jam
Seen Trevor Hall and Gone Gone Beyond here. The sound was great. Old fashioned venue. Easy to get in. Bass could have been louder and more seating, or open the top to more people
Morten Kristiansen
We had a lot of fun at the Walk Off The Earth concert at Newport Music Hall. I can’t say the acoustics were amazing but the crew was friendly and we had a good time.
POPTOGRAPHIX
Great sound, beautiful venue I will definitely be seeing more shows here in the future.
Michael Tacy
This is a pretty good venue and if there is a band that you want to see playing here it's definitely worth checking out.
I like them cause they tend to have a lot of really interesting acts and it's a pretty good size (not too big and not too small).
parking around this area is not great so try and arrive a little early.
there is a very strict bag policy that you can't take any bah that's basically bigger than a wallet so be sure you don't bring a purse.
Drinks are not that good and pretty pricey but that's pretty standard for any music venue so I don't really count it against them.
The acoustics of the space are not the best but it makes up for it by being a really cool aesthetic.
overall, can't complain. I've been here several times now and I'm sure I'll be back.
Kraig Carman
Awesome venue. Oldest continuously running rock music venue, but it is maintained well and kept nice. Amazing place to see a rock concert. Everyone should stop and see a show there if you get a chance.
Greta Mooney
Great venue, the reason I didn't give 5 stars was the fact that they didn't take cash. It wouldn't have been a big deal, except for the fact that we drove 2 hours to get there, so running home for my debit card was not an option. Also, it was not posted anywhere so that I could have known ahead of time and brought my debit card with me.
Firebreather2001
Great venue for the Bobaflex concert!
Corey Hensley
My favorite venue in Columbus. Has the same feel as the theatre district in Chicago. Beer prices a bit steep, $10 for a tall boy. Still a big fan.
Jesse Lane
Visiting columbus, took in a show. Architecture inside was cool. Had a super friendly staff, plus saw an awesome show. I'd go back.
Chris Pelletier
This place is always a great place e to see a show. Smaller venue with a big venue vibe. I'll always have a heart for Newport and the history there.
Ayana
Tonight was the first time being here and it was a great experience. I came here for the lovelytheband concert and it was really fun and was satisfied the whole time, I sat all the way at the top to get the full view and it was really good and I was still able to see very well and there was places to sit. I wish the bathrooms where better but that’s pretty much all that I didn’t like everything else was good though.
Issac Harris
This was my first time at this venue and it was great. When you walk in you feel like you are in a small place but once you walk through the large doors.... BAM! The place opens up with an area to purchase alcohol and pizza. There is a lot of room on the main floor as well as a upstairs with a balcony. I would defiantly go back and rock out!
Mike Robare
Great place to see a show, awesome sound too!
T M (TheMalkore)
Saw Royal bliss, Thru the fire and Fozzy there last night and it was awesome. I feel the performers was awesome to see there. Now if that was the only thing for a rating it would hands down be 5 stars. Where it drops is the price for water or even a solo cup of soda is outrageous costly. But will honestly go see another show there soon.
Rory Glackin
Awesome small venue, doesn't seem like there is a bad place to stand at all. I got there 30 minutes before the doors opened for Andrew McMahon in the wilderness and was 3 rows back. Was an amazing concert and would do it all again. Going to see Jake Miller and Marianas trench here as well in May
David A.
Awesome venue. I'll be happy to come back and see another show!
Joel Crawford
Killer venue with awesome staff and always a great lineup of shows! I frequently visit from Cincy to see acts we just can’t get. Highly recommended.
chuck zahn
One of the best places to see a show, security is hands off unless needed in the pit. Beer prices are a little high but reasonable for a concert. The pizza is not bad considering the venue.
Kelsey G
Saw Caamp here on New Years Eve! Security was good, entrance was fast with metal detectors, and different viewing options are available standing/sitting/in balcony. The bad thing was that there is ONE women’s restroom and it is upstairs. There had to be at least 60 people in line... I was told about some porto-johns outside, so I headed there. A couple johns were in the smoking section, outside (keep in mind this is in December), and there was still a line. Honestly not much else they can do, but I was shocked.
Veronica Carlsson
This place needs some help! It’s falling apart! Drinks are expensive just like any venue. Love the sink-in general standing area and the rails around the sides. I’m short so it’s nice to actually see over people! Parking is rough. I’m not sure if there’s a lot some where but the street parking is rare to find! You have to walk a few blocks. Sound was good. If you are handicapped female that can’t walk up stairs you won’t have access to a restroom!! Womens restrooms are up stairs. There’s only 4 stalls. They’re rough shape! The toilet paper thing kept falling open on me. Knocked my card credit right in the toilet! Lmao!!! Funtimes

“Oldest Agora in Ohio.” This place is huge! Big standing room floor and cool upstairs areas to view from. Ladies restrooms upstairs as well as a bar. The pizza on the first floor was tasty, large slices, worth the money for us. Ask for no ice if getting mixed drinks from the bar... Overall great experience!
Brad McFadden
One of the best places to see a show in Columbus. Decent sized venue, but still feels intimate. Get there early to secure a good spot to stand. Short folks will not enjoy when the tall folks stand directly in front of you. Head up top for some good views and a spot to rest.
Brian Woody
I've been going here since the 1980's. Not a whole lot has changed as far as the layout. They have air conditioning now and there's been some upgrades as far as the bars and bathrooms. The merchandise is right at the front. It creates a bottleneck when you first come in which can be a hassle. If there's only 1 or 2 bands is enough space but if there's more than 2 and they have a lot of merch it's inadequate.
If the balcony is open you can go up there to sit to get away from some of the downstairs congestion and sit. It's bleacher style seating on concrete. It's not the best but if you need to rest your legs you can. I usually try to stand behind the front of house sound board or in front on it. If you're not tall you may want to get in early and head to the balcony. Parking is available across the street in the garage.
Parking on the street can be tough and you may get towed too. Pizza is available if Mike's Late Nite Slice is open. It was not the last time I was there. So you may want to eat before you go if you're hungry. Chipotle and Waffle House are right out front.
M. Richardson
Such a fun experience at the Newport. It’s such a unique concert venue with great bands.
Leah Mccoy
Had an amazing time, this was my first time in this venue. Friendly staff. Parking wasn't the best but it's on campus so it was to be expected. #livemusic #concert
teres cl0ud
Amazing shows! Bathrooms are tight and not too hard to find. It can get packed easily.
Nickelle Fox
It was very crowded. The place looked very historic and was gorgeous. The main band was absolutely amazing!
Ryan Garcia
Newport is labeled as "America's longest continually running rock venue". Located in the heart of Ohio State campus, this venue has housed artists from Green Day to Lil' Wayne. The historic architecture makes you feel like you're in a refurbished theater, complete with a mezzanine.
It's not a particularly large venue, and the main floor is standing room only. Seats are available on the balcony, but they typically cost more. If you get there before doors open, expect to wait in a line along high street where there is no cover from the elements.
karl velarde
Nice music venue in the heart of the Ohio state university. Place pretty tight and compact as close as it gets to the artist's stage. Little to no queue on the 3 drink serving stations
Cody Starner
Promowest is off their game, they had to ask us what we got for VIP besides the shorter line. Check in started late. Still, I love the newport both as a venue and for where it's located, I like to be really early for shows and being on high street gives you a lot of options to kill time.
Joel Soto
It was my 1st time at Newport and I really like the venue and staff, very professional and safe oriented people. The only thing I think needs improvement are the chairs next to the stage, these are small and uncomfortable for big guys like me, but besides that it's all cool.
Mary Graves
Was a tad disappointed that there weren't any seats. The concert itself was awesome! Dayglow/Courtship
Kenneth Young
Great place to see a show. Plenty of places to get a beverage and good pizza as well. Would definitely return to see another performance.
Tim W
Great venue for concerts. Wasn't overly crowded.
David Wagner
The Venue was great for this show. Blue October-I just attended the Blue October concert in Columbus Ohio on Thursday night. To call it a life-changing is the only word that comes close to describing it. Justin put out such an amazing beautiful loving energy and told us how much he loved us and he meant it. To see the progression that he has taken from hate me to I hope you're happy is a miracle. He is a miracle and the journey I have been on and where I am at now and where I was able to be Thursday night all of that is a miracle. How is Blue October not bigger than the Beatles And The rolling Stones and you to all put together I don't know
Mark Chmarney
No complaints, great sound, decent sight lines for a smaller venue. 2nd level balcony is key.
Nick McMillin
Pretty standard decent sized night club. Perfectly suited for the second reunion show for Bobaflex! As a frequent concert-goer, I will make this critique, however: the house PA sounds muddy and in need of a serious upgrade. I know The Lonely Ones and Bobaflex (whom I cane here to see) have a top notch sound engineer and equipment they play with. I seriously doubt they were the problem
vert
Saw my first concert here last year, beautiful interior and balcony seating is straightforward an amazing view of the stage. However vocals were drowned out.
Dominique Haneberg-Diggs
This is one of my favorite music venues in Columbus. It has a gritty vibe packaged within a retired theater. While the architecture is also interesting, the shows are tons of fun. There aren’t any seats in the house. The pit is large, but there is plenty of room to avoid the rowdiness. Parking can be tricky. Sides streets have worked for me but I can become a hike. It’s usually easier for me to rideshare. My biggest critique is that they will pat you down checking for weapons and contraband. It is a bit invasive.
Jerry Ellis
Awesome venue for concerts! Really cool atmosphere and best of all they let you vape in there!
Zak Bittinger
I love the Newport. Is it a but grungy? Sure. But it has a great atmosphere, good staff, good location, perfect crowd size, and great sound. Fair drink selection and price, and they attract some of the best shows in town. Will definitely be back soon for more shows.
Dave Alkire
First, I don't understand the whole concert concept - It seems like a very expensive and inconvenient way to listen to music. Also, if you're old enough to afford tickets, you probably want to sit down. But, my understanding is, this is what the experience is supposed to be like, so I give this venerable old place full credit
Crystal Gunter
Amazing Music Venue. All of the staff and security made me feel very safe inside. I love the variety of artists that come thru and the frequency of the shows. It’s a great stepping stone back into “normal” life.
Gavin Gaddis
Wonderful, storied venue. Less fun when the act hasn't pulled a crowd big enough to open up the balcony level, which is where the Newport really shines.
Also I'm not sure if it was a side effect of the small Tuesday show or COVID but having been twice now: the Newport without its pizza place is a markedly less fun environment. Two hours in and the only thing available to get you through a lame opening act is unfortunate Bud seltzers and $4 bags of potato chips.
Amy Goodwin
First time visit seeing Idles with Gustaf opening. Easy access to close parking, and there are many great places to eat within walking distance. Staff was great. The event was well organized, and Covid-19 guidelines followed. The security handled concert-goers who were in the pit with respect and kept everyone safe. Exiting after the show was easy. Definitely a great mid-sized venue to see a show.
David Myers
My son's first concert. Took him for his birthday. Had a great time!!
Aaron Baker
Nice atmosphere and an essential venue for the Columbus music scene. Attracts local, regional, and national acts regularly. Only complaint is the price of food and drinks. Be prepared to spend a bit. Also, very tight security so don't bring bags and clear out your pockets before you get there.
Jason Eyanson
It was out first visit to the venue. It was a nice place. The staff were great throughout the show. The sound was just ok.
Tennis Coach
Saw a Pink Floyd cover band play here. Had a great time! They didn't over pack the facility. Multiple bars and lots of liquor options...not just limited to Bud Light vs. Miller Lite. Wear comfortable shoes if you're one of the majority in general "standing".
Brock Leonti
Huge venue nestled across from OSU's campus with great lineup of performers, musicians and bands. Grab an adult beverage and enjoy the show!
Corbin Smith
Such a classic venue and the perfect place to see your favorite mid-tier artist. Plenty of room, wide open bar area, balcony, and clean restrooms. One of my favorite venues in Columbus!
Ashlee L
Nice, clean place for concerts, really nice staff.
Matthew Teixeira
Good sized venue. But not so big you cant see the bands. Great location. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Plenty of people to socialize with being its across from a college.
Kyle E
Ah yes the familiar smell of BO, beer and weed. All the makings of a good metal show. Staff is professional, can't say I've ever had a bad experience.
Tommy Canter
Really great venue! Big, lots of room, good sound! You should wear ear plugs though, it's the loudest place I've been to.
David Smith
Good venue, parking garage across the street, Late Night Slice selling slices in the venue. Drinks are a lil pricey, good size balcony that wraps around the room. Have seen some great shows here
Abigail Green
Great drinks, love the energy of the whole place! Really great music and fun staff. Would definitely see another concert here again.
Seth Steiner
I recently went to the Newport Music Hall for the first time to see Thrice. I drove up down Cleveland. The venue has potential. However, I was exceedingly disappointed with a few very important aspects for any concert hall.
The sound system was bad. Poor quality. Maybe it was the sound guy working the boards versus the actual system? I hope they fix this before Manchester Orchestra in the coming months.
I paid for “VIP” seats near the stage. COMPLETE waste of money. It is a small section of random seats and tables that are first come first serve. The stage speakers block your view of the stage. I went back to general admission to get a better view and as good of a sound experience as I could with the low quality sound.
Malachi Kamler
The venue is pretty alright, I would recommend sitting in the seats at the back of the balcony - there's still a great view of the stage.
Kristi Marshall
Great venue to host concerts.
artfuldodger0870
Staff was professional and friendly, the vibe and history of the building was cool. Parking wasn't a problem at all, and the venue was right off the interstate and easy to get to. I had a blast.
Rob Hall
The longest continually running rock club in the country. They know how to put on a show. The history and pictures inside are worth the cost of a concert alone.
Chris Howard
The best place in the world to see up and coming bands. Old theater that's hosted the best since the 70's. Great visibility and acoustics. Full bar and open seating. Parking sucks but worth walking around and seeing campus.
Reagan Porterr
I have been a couple times, I like smaller venues. Easy to find, easy to find a parking spot.
Roy Daniel Evans
Perhaps one of the best venues I have ever worked at or attended. Tons of History including back when it used to be called the agora ballroom. Still some of the best sound I have heard from any venue. And one of the best staff I have ever had the privilege of working with.
Miranda Abner
We saw Julien Baker and Thao. Great show. Really cool venue.
Phil Jackson
Have a blast everytime I go to a concert at this venue. It is nostalgic and full of character and no matter who you see there it is a great personal feel.
Ric Shoemaker
A great venue! What a totally awesome show!
Kelly Hexamer
AMAZING venue!! So much fun! Saw The Glorious Sons. Staff was INCREDIBLE. The ONLY complaint is the bathrooms. There's only one for females. Drinks are priced extremely reasonable. Only food available at the venue is pizza. It was fine, nothing special. Next time we'll know to eat first. We were coming from out of town so didn't have time on this occasion.
Dean Platt
Ancient ritual venue...it has held up quite well...and the acoustics are money!
Lorrie OC
Hollowed out historic theater. I went for a live concert with 3 bands. Big room, balcony, standing GA. Staff was excellent; and efficient with changing covid procedures. Downtown Cbus is wild and college town! A million things happening at once so I say pay a bit more for the parking structure. Love Newport! I hope to get back there for another live show.
David Miskell
Saw Meg Myers Oct 5. Venue was nice. Doors open at 8 pm music did not start till 9 pm and Meg did not start until 10 pm. Meg made the wait well worthwhile.
Gena D
This venue is the longest continually running rock music hall in the country! It's awesome to see my favorite bands here while being surrounded by the theatrical decor of the past. It makes for a very interesting contrast. There really isn't a bad viewpoint in the house, and the sound is always on point. I've never had a bad experience here.
Bluejackets Fan
Good old Newport! After all the years it is still a great place to catch a show.
Laura Stalter (she, her)
One of my favorite venues in Columbus. Friendly staff, beautiful building, giant beers, not a bad seat in the place. Always a great time.
Nikk Spiert
Love this venue! Does get pretty busy but the bar and pizza shop do well to keep up.
Usually friendly crowd, and safe environment.
Security is pretty cool and attentive.
Recommended for all types of musical occasions!
Mindi Beaumont
Awesome venue! Up close and personal experience.
Elisha Wheeler
If a music venue was a dive bar, this would totally be it. It feels weird to go on campus as an adult to go see concerts, but I love this venue. There really aren't any bad views anywhere
2021 edit: the ladies bathroom gets sketchier every time i go. There are no locks on the stalls and there was a giant hole in the wall patched with plywood
Erick Moyers
Hands down my favorite concert venue. It's genuine, perfect size, good acoustics, the beer is very cheap compared to other venues, and Mikey's Late Night is in the building for shows. I love this spot and look forward to shows here. Fair warning, the floors are sticky and the bathrooms are probably the worst in the city, but it's a fair trade for an intimate show
Morgan Moore
Got to see The Hu here in November 2019! Great space and the sound was absolutely amazing! I'm not a big fan of large concert venues so to have this in Columbus is great!
Leslie Tiller
The venue is great, old world architecture and great sound for music, plenty of different areas and levels so everyone has the opportunity to see the stage. My only complaint is that the womens restrooms are upstairs, so women who drink at the well stocked bar may have an issue.
Brian Miller
With a listed capacity of 1700 standing room only, many concertgoers on a full night are left with obstructed, limited views of the stage. Everyone pays the same price(other than VIP) which is a good, but unless you get there early and stand in line, outside, in some cases for hours, you may not be able to see much of the show. Also, the doors typically open an hour before the show starts, so if you are at the back of the line, the opening act is almost finished by the time you go through security check and actually get in.
While it's a cool, older venue that has a lot of history, it also needs a lot of updating.
If you are going and expect a large crowd, be prepared to go early and get in line to get the best possible spot for viewing.
Amy Adkins
Love it!!! My oldest son's first concert ever THE SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF PINK FLOYD!!! He loved it... It's a great place to go for a concert!!!
stephen anderson
The atmosphere is 2nd to NONE, but man the sound system needs an upgrade bad. Sounds like mush unless you really know the song that's playing it can be hard to hear anything.
Tatum Bailey
A very intimate and cool venue
Valued Customer
I'm almost 40 and I've seen at least 200 shows here. I love the Newport. The pit is literally in a pit and has railings around it. So, you don't have to get in if you don't want to. I usually do, but not as much anymore. The spicy pizza they sell there is awesome! Try it out if you like some heat. Beer prices are high, but on par with most other places. If your not drinking soda is like 2 bucks and you get free refills. Fights and stupid stuff happens, but there security is really good at getting it under control. Sound system is one of the best in Ohio for a venue this size. It would be a sad day if the Newport were to ever close. Love this place.
Emily G.
Love the bands they bring in but the sound system does not sound good for all types of music. Heavier music (rock, edm, etc) sound loud and muffled. Take earplugs.
Melle Rietveld
Excellent show and great venue!!
L Z
Absolutely wonderful venue. There were plenty of staff members and the security lines went quickly. We came to town to see a show at this venue and were concerned about parking. Fortunately there was a large and reasonably priced parking structure just across the street from the Music Hall. There is a snack counter in the venue serving pizza, and as an added bonus the whole place has a delectable pizza aroma. The venue is relatively small and there really didn't seem to be a bad vantage point as far as seeing the stage is concerned. It seemed to be primarily standing only. I saw a patron in a wheelchair so I believe they may be able to make some accommodations for handicapped persons if arranged ahead of time. I would not bring younger children here unless the show is particularly targeted for that age group, mostly due to the inebriated and college-aged crowds. All in all, great experience and I'd love to see a show there again.
Karen
Had a great time seeing Idles here. Drove from Cleveland and it was well worth it!
Frank Phillipeck
Great venue. I have been here quite a few times and it is always a blast. Doesn't matter who or what you come to see you will have a great time. Oh and the little pizza shop is absolutely fantastic, some of the best pizza I have ever had, a little expensive but so worth it when your stuck inside the venue for a show and can't leave.
Bret Hollis
First time seeing a show there. It's a sweet place to go. I will be returning
mojorayjones
I saw many great shows here in the 80's: BB King, Hot Tuna...
I can only imagine who's playing there now, but I have good memories from decades ago with good friends enjoying good music. The place itself was nothing special, but somehow it was good enough to provide a place to enjoy music with friends. I hope it's still kickin'
Bronson Brown
Pretty good venue. The only thing that I don't like is that often the staff can be a little off putting or kind of just rude. Mostly upon entrence, like the security staff and people that open the doors. But you see that kinda of deal at almost any venue. But overall it's a pretty good place to see a show. I'd recommend it.
Holly Bangert
Small venue, but that just makes it easier to get close to the stage and gives you the ability to see the stage from almost anywhere. I love the Newport
Tucker Moreland
went there back in the early seventies when it was called the agora. saw bands of the time for two dollars. went there a lot. always 2 bucks. all the bands had albums out.
MD Cox
Peaches was awesome..love this place..
Seen a ton of bands here
Jonathan Harper
Standin room only pretty cool concert of a local artist lil doobie throwin his largest independent concert right here in his home city!
Benjamin Frankenhoff
The place is really grody but I guess it's a Columbus rite of passage. Don't sit on the toilet seat.
Lia Yakumithis
While the floor is seemingly permanently sticky from spilled drinks, everything else about the place is great for a concert. The bartender did NOT skimp on the booze in my drink. I also didn't mind the pat down and purse check for safety. The security took complaints of belligerent people seriously, getting into the crowd to remove them. You can see the stage from pretty much anywhere in the venue, which is great if you don't get there early.
Luca 'Renée' Shoal
I've never regretted a show I've seen here. From Mindless Self Indulgence, to Duo De Twang, Devin Townsend Project, They Might Be Giants, to GWAR. Every show has been a treat. The sound of the venue works great for so many bands. And almost Every spot on the floor has a good view of the action. Save for by the pillars but such is life.
If a band you dig is playing here. Be sure to catch the show. And park across the street at the student union for the easiest solution to parking.
Brandon Smith
Love the design and talent management did this place. However, live sound mixing and the bathrooms could be better.
James Roberts
Love the look and layout, but I gotta say after seeing many shows here, that the sound is almost always bad. Usually can't hear the lyrics to the songs, and whenever the performers try to talk to the audience it sounds like they have potatoes in their mouth. Too bad because there are a lot of cool shows here.
Jason Kaczvinsky
(Very) limited bar, great staff, first proactive venue ive been to. To explain, prior to entering the venue, the staff Let guests know ahead of time how large bags could be, drink wristbands etc. While they were in line. Water was provided at no costs which was very much appreciated especially considering it was about 90°F
Mike D
Went to see Zoso and Thunderstruck! Fantastic show!!!
Andy Mendel
Good venue for small concerts.no seating but upper level has tiered steps where you can sit. Drinks were reasonably priced. Db level was not too loud.
Leah Moser
This would be a 4-star review if it weren't for one particular employee: the security woman with long black wavy hair and glasses. This was my first visit to the Newport, and my first interaction there was with her. She was needlessly rude to EVERYONE in line. I understand that security has to maintain a stern appearance, but her tone when talking to anyone was downright nasty if not borderline hostile. She practically spat at me to take my stuff out of the basket because I apparently didn't do it quickly enough. It was just entirely unnecessary and starts the venue out on a really bad footing with customers. I hope this was a fluke and she was just in a bad mood, but even still - if that kind of behavior from staff is tolerated by the venue I am in no rush to return.
Beyond that experience, there are some very good aspects of this venue. It's a small, intimate setting where you can see bands that might not otherwise be able to come to town and fill the bigger arenas. Prices were also very reasonable... tickets are affordable and drinks were far better priced than I expected (soda for $2, liquor $5-$9, beer starting at $5.50). They also have a Mikey's Late Night Slice booth that was selling their (very generously sized) slices for $6. On the other hand though, it's in an area where parking is hard to find and well, Columbus isn't known for having world-class public transportation. So unless you live right nearby, Uber/Lyft might be your best bet for getting there. The woman's bathroom contained a whopping five stalls, one of which you couldn't open the door to without it hitting the toilet. (Maybe you'll be skinny enough to fit in there, but I'm not!) The next one I tried didn't have a lock on it and was next to a wall with a massive boarded-up hole in it. There were advertisements for Root-sponsored free Wi-fi posted everywhere, but when trying to connect between acts I kept getting a "Web Page Blocked"/"invalid license" error and couldn't get online even after giving Root my email and agreeing to receive texts from them. They had bleacher-like seating available on the second level which was nice, but they are just short enough that it gets really uncomfortable before long. I'm pretty short myself, and my legs were incredibly cramped by the end of the show. So honestly I'd recommend standing instead.
Overall, the show was amazing but the venue was a little disappointing. I wanted to like it given the shows they host, but it really wasn't a great experience. A little TLC would get them a long way, but at the same time the prices are pretty hard to beat. So make of that what you will.
Caitlin M
Very small intimate venue. I saw Green Day here in September. It was an awesome show and the staff was wondering and handled getting the crowd checked in the building wonderfully in a manner that did not create mass chaos from people rushing to get through like there usually is at most other shows I have been to.
Jonathan McBride
Venue was pretty similar (in layout) to a smaller House of Blues.
Beer selection left A LOT to be desired. Ohio (and Columbus in general) have how many amazing craft brewers and all they carry is Columbus IPA and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale in bottles?
Sound was pretty good and the stage was beautiful. The concert itself was mostly awesome, but partly ruined by a VERY drunk couple that somehow kept being served by the staff. I think they need to pay way more attention and cut people off earlier rather than later so drunk people aren't ruining the experience for everyone else who payed decent money for a show.
Overall, decent place and if the right artist plays here I'm all in.
Linda Coulson
Newport Music Hall in Columbus .. first time ever going there. Granted the building is in much needed repair and remodeling. But it was pretty neat. Be awesome all fixed up.
The security staff were very nice and helpful.
They do need more seating areas, not everyone is able to stand the length of an entire concert.
Connie Day
Went to the Jelly Roll concert June 29! Amazing!! Only reason I didn't give a 5 is because it was so hot in there. They have AC but it wasn't on much and ceiling fans everywhere... Not turned on. 🔥🔥🔥 …
MatterWolf
Had a great time there security was great when someone made us feel uncomfortable they were right on it (One time happening) but otherwise everything was great
Jason Dodson
The history and the vibes here are unmatched. Best mid-sized venue in Columbus for sure.

It was a great experience overall, the groups that were performing did amazing, had some Late Night Slice pizza and the sound system was fantastic. The only downside was some people were smoking cigarettes inside the venue, which is supposed to be prohibited. Other than that, it was fun!
Naus Rose
We arrived to quickly find that there was in fact no place to park but the university parking across the street for $10. We waited in the winter cold 45 minutes past when the show was about to start; but the bar was cheap and they had places for short people to stand, so all was not lost. This place is rough, tiny, and you really get to personally know the guy next to you when you're at the urinal. I absolutely adore it.
Kayleigh Kaminski
This is easily my favorite place to see a show in Columbus. I love the character of the building and the fact that I can be right up close to the stage without being in the pit. Prices are reasonable and there are plenty of parking garages across the street from the venue as well as along High Street.
Tracie Parsley
Always a great concert venue for the 52 years I've been going there.
Scott Peachey
Great old school venue that gets some pretty amazing bands hosted. Small venue that gets you close to the bands with a great atmosphere that is second to none. If you visit the city, this is a must visit place at least once (if not more). Prices are great and staff are helpful compared to other places.
Brocha Evans
Very cool venue, easy parking at garage across the street too!
Natasha Carrier
Other than no seating other than reserved seating it's allot of fun for concerts
Robert Talbott
This place is awesome. The venue is huge the music sounds awesome there. I give it 5 stars. I kinda wish there smoke room was a little bigger and there staff a little friendlier but all in all I give it 4 stars but I'm giving it 5 since there pizza there was pretty boss and the bar tenders there were really polite 😎 …
Eric Diaz
AMAZING. Just such an incredible venue. If you're in town, or even live in town, I highly suggest giving this place a visit. They home artists from all around the world, and from all realms of genres. Definitely don't sleep on this place if you like amazing music production, and quality performances.
Michael McGee
Definitely not the nicest venue around. Granted, it's across from campus so most concert goers will be okay with the experience. However, I would much rather see shows at LC Pavilion or nearby Cincinnati and Dayton venues.
Sujan Manandhar
The Newport is dark and dingy and almost falling apart. But its still a good place for a show. They do a good job of getting a great mix of artists. All shows are general admission, so you better get there early.
The sound is actually pretty good considering how old the place is. The 'balcony' can sometimes be less crowded and you can find a place to sit. The beer lines are not bad due to the multiple lines.
Mea Palmer
it was nice until my phone was stolen. i hope it wasn't any part of he staffs fault, i don't think they could have done anything to prevent it. but it definitely made me want to never bring anything into a concert ever again. the pizza smelt burnt and the drinks were small for too much money. the bathrooms were not as clean as they could've been and there was no soap or paper towels. smoke pit is small and narrow. but the up op theater seating seems cool. having two floors to go back and forth through was nice.(-to the moon and back-)
Chloe Musick
Every place in the house is a good spot to see the stage. Usually there is parking available in the garages across the street. There are plenty of food options nearby. The venue itself it beautiful and hosts many great acts from around the world.
Tom Stam
Newport Music Hall is a remarkable venue for concerts. Ideal for indie bands, not so much for, say, a Rihanna concert, however this more than suffices for smaller acts. There is no seating in the "pit," standing room only, and I am unable to vouch for seating on the upper decks. I would say that the venue is designed for a fun concert experience more so than for comfort or luxury. Also, they have a pizza counter open late. (Cheeses Crust! ...no literally, that's what it was called.)
Jonathan Thomas
Really great venue for live music. Wide open standing space. Bar and food usually available inside. Lots of really great acts come through here. Definitely a place to check out.
Christopher Lansing
One of my favorite venues! They get wonderful bands constantly. It's fairly small so the concert feels intimate. Just great.
Mo Weezy
Venue was great and clean. Was there for Face/off 3 with Scarface Twista and Silkk The Shocker. Music was pumping and security was professional. Everything literally was set up perfectly and if u wanted drinks u got a wristband for it. Only issue I had was after the show (I was one of select few with meet and greet tickets) Twista left before alot of us could meet him. (Still salty about that) but otherwise very good spot for concerts I'd go back every time. I just won't sit so close to the damn speakers next time lol
Mike Reiss
I have been here for 2 events and both were great. An intimate setting with a historic feel. Beer is cheap enough for being where it is and they attract a lot of big names. Highly recommended venue for metalheads and rockers.
Marty Qualls
Best venue in Columbus to see live music. Beers are big and not too expensive and the bathrooms are a mess but that is what makes the Newport the Newport!
Jay Melt
2nd best place to catch live music. Not a bad spot to be in the entire venue. Staff is always friendly and for us metal fans, the best musical culture to be entwined with!
KC
Most of the employees here were really nice, I had to sit in the ADA seating since I have a lot of Dizziness from a recent head injury. But after the show it was frustrating that the staff were trying to rush everyone out so quickly. They kept telling me to move out of the building but I didn't want to be in the middle of the crowd trying to exit as there were also tons of people in the exit backing things up. I understand the want to get everything cleared out quickly but if there are tons of people jamming the exit you shouldn't be shoving more people at it especially if those people are having balance issues they shouldn't be pushed into the crowd. That's part of why I sat in the ADA area.
Shaylyn Allen
Great venue! Security acted quickly on removing guests causing disruptions. Bartenders and those working admissions were borderline rude...also no warning about purse size restrictions- microbags/wristlets only.
Marilyn
Killer venue! Some of the greatest shows I've seen have been at NPMH, including Tool, Mushroomhead, Ministry, and Trivium. A lot of great memories.
Dustin Bennett
You cant beat the Newport. Promowest does a great job bringing in phenomenal bands andnmusical acts of all shapes and sizes. They do a fairly good job with the local music scene.
You can feel the history in this place. A small nice double layered concert venue with true authenticity.
Rick Terry
Saw Tyler Childers there. Great show! Unfortunately, the sound engineer could have used some help. I've done it for many years and this person struggled a LOT. Hopefully, it is not an indicator of every show. Interesting venue. Not particularly upscale, but interesting. Ladies, don't bring any purses. You can't take them in if they're much larger than a wallet.
Dawn Anglin
No frills but always great music and eager concert goers!
Albert Kozusko
One of my favorite places to go see a show. It's the longest running rock club in America. The people working were really cool. Just saw Hatebreed, and it ROCKED!! Pick up a slice from Mikey's and have a great time. You can have a killer show in an intimate environment and be right on campus for any other eats or drinks. Just go and have fun at an old opera house that has served the OSU campus area for decades.
Reuben Landon
The best music venue in Columbus, OH by far! It may be small, but it totally makes up for it with attitude, style, and PURE AWESOMENESS!
Double AA
Event staff knows what they are doing to get you in the door quickly and efficiently.
Oshun Allen
Really liked the atmosphere and building. Staff was kind and easy to deal with. Large and mostly clean bathrooms. Pizza by the slice on one side, bar on the other side. Drinks are expensive, but they always are at these venues. 6.25 for a domestic bottle. Owwwch! Lol still managed to get a good buzz watching g herbo.
Stephen Haines
Great venue! Tons of space down in the pit to get close to the stage or just start moshing. Otherwise you can stand further in the back or on the upper balcony. Great place to see a show
Mark Dodd
Great show but had to put up with a lot of distracting loud mouthed drunks. In addition, had to cough up $14.50 to the downtown Columbus parking mafia. Anything's better when it happens somewhere other than downtown
Austin Gerlt
Lost my wallet here with 157 dollars in it, security found me and returned it, with all 157 still there. 11/10 staff. Venue is great too.
Dave Hollingshead
Cool, old school venue. Nice balcony area and seating if you want to just hang out and stay out of the floor area. Of course if you want to dance there will be plenty of willing participants.
Marcia Rose
This venue itself is great...security sucks
Some drunk woman attacked my daughter in law..I was trying to pull the woman off my dil and we all got kicked out. All of this before the lead act hit the stage....I'm a 50 year old disabled woman with noticeable MS...not much strength in this ole girl anymore...really??? Never again will I attend am event at this place.
Corey Spring
There's plenty of history inside the walls of the 'longest continually running rock club' in the country. Of course with that distinction comes age and the Newport is showing it on the inside and out. Still, it's a great place to see a show and feels authentic and unpolished. The venue is also intimate while still being able to attract national artists.
Michael Kingzett
I personally think this is a great place to see a show. Is it modern? No... But knowing the history of the artists that have performed there in the past makes the place. It's small but very intimate. Sound is great and service is great. Definitely worth visiting.
Jeremy Moore
My favorite venue for live music. If I could change one thing, it would be that the lights were as dynamic and awesome as the sister club at Express live. Other than that, this place is the best!
smokey mcpott
Awesome place. We went to see Tech n9ne and loved every minute of it. The sound system they have sounded great. The also make there own pizza and sell it there. Only bad thing is the food and drinks are pricey.
Olivia Nielson
Good venue. Good drinks. Good sound quality and production.
HOWEVER
I came from out of state (Indiana) to visit this venue. There is no official website for the venue that I could find so I had no way to know rules or regulations. I was going alone and had to park in a garage so I brought my pepper spray so as to feel safe walking around a city I am not familiar with. Upon entering the venue they told me no weapons or pepper spray so I revealed I had pepper spray. The woman who searched me said she had to confiscate it BUT I COULD GET IT BEFORE I LEFT.
After the show ended, and I bought some merchandise. I asked some employees who I could retrieve my confiscated items from, and they informed me they could not return anything because they had no idea whose it actually was. Needless to say I was livid. The walk to my car is short, but as a small, young female I was so mad that they took my only form of protection and would not return it. I informed them what the previous employee told me, but they just repeated that they couldn't return it. I told them it was on their hands if I got mugged, and they said it wasn't their fault.
I had a great time at the venue and with the performance staff, but needless to say was less than satisfied with some of the employees and practices. Employees need to either make clear their confiscation practices or there needs to be a website making it clear. Severely disappointed with how employees treated me. The least they could do was offer a way for me to walk safely back to my car.
Jeremy Eaton
One of my favorite concert venues! Newport is great for shows of all sorts, there is food and drinks as well as multiple bathrooms and even a balcony for viewing
Macy Frazier
Good venue, never had to wait too long to get a drink or go to the bathroom. A bit annoying to get down the stairs on lower level in front of the stage because people were blocking them for no reason.
Ericka Doyle
Decent place to watch bands. You couldn't hear the vocals well. I don't know why. Nice small place. You could get pretty close to the bands. Best view was on balcony.
Racheal Hall
Favorite music venue ever.
Greg Engelhart
Best view of the entertainment at this bona fide old school venue!
Roberto Rivera
I've seen both Keane and Purity Ring here, and I loved the concert hall both times! It's historical but beautiful. Of course, it could use a bit of refining, but I think it adds to the atmosphere
Krystle Rose
As always a great music venue with great acoustics. Also has great historical flare.
Han Solo
Saw Badfish with Tropidelic with my bud Chewy tonight, definitely best performance we've seen since the Cantina band! Good venue and recommend it to all the rebels
Taylor Oberst
Concert venue that's probably been here longer than me. I've see many shows here, and it's the same every time. The smell of good pizza, beer lines, and a packed house. A dive venue, but that's what gives the Newport it's appeal to some. I think it's due for some minor renovations.
Danielle Stout
Only problem was, they allowed vaping in the venue. Other than that, 10 out of 10 will definitely be coming back! Sound was amazing, lights were amazing, security was amazing, good was amazing. It was amazing.
Michael Ehalt
Great venue for live music! Conveniently located.
Andrew Hensel
Great venue! Loved watching Cut Copy there!
Stephanie M
Have seen many shows here! Staff are all very kind . love the Newport:)
A Nelson
A great place for smaller shows. Just wish the ladies' wasn't a trek up like a thousand marble steps😵💫 …
Eddie Mullins
Best indoor venue ever
Jerry Fortner
Great music and service, well organized
Holly Fletcher
Another successful Yung pinch concert!
Samantha Coss (Sam)
Newport itself is pretty rum down, in the way a lot of old concert venues are. With the lights down you don't even notice. They do bring in some great acts, though. We saw JohnnySwim there a while aho and they were awesome!
Gonzo Guy
Best place in Columbus to see live music. My only gripe about the place is the sound is usually a little louder than it should be, but hey it's an old concert hall so too loud is also part of the appeal.
A. Nonny Mouse
Going to be one of the only things that I'm really going to miss about not living in Columbus Ohio. Awesome staff and wonderful security guardsalso a pretty good lineup of bands that play there from time to time except for the hip-hop and rap artist which usually erupt in violence
Evan Cline
Nobody has cleaned the taps since 1974 and the bathroom stalls are waist high with no doors. Other than the worst place ever to have to poop, it's an institution and a hell of a place to see a show. Providing it wasnt Mike Gordon and his band of dentists.
Jeremy Baier
Sick music venue. Strict about underage drinkin so watch out
Liz Homer
Great, smaller venue that's easy to walk to
Andy Davis
Concert was awesome. Gaelic Storm put in one great show. The venue has no seats. All standing room only.
gabrielle helmick (funnygirl74383)
Saw Amber Liu in concert here! Best concert ever, you were able to hear everything she said and see everything part of her performance no matter where you were standing.
Jennifer Broderick
Medium sized venue that hosts a variety of bands. Not a bad seat in the house! Friendly staff and great pizza from Late Night Slice.
Luis Hernandez
First time there and got to see STRFKR! Great experience.
Jeff Brown
Love seeing bands at smaller venues, it's more intimate.
David Stehman
Great place. Lots if cool bands a must goto
Mike Yahraus
Not a bad view in the place. If your short there are benches on sides in the back that you can stand on. Place is a little rundown but it's a very old building. Beer was 5.50 a bottle.
Megan Harris
Great intimate venue for live music. It's a dive but don't let that hold you back to see a band, always a great music experience.
Mayhem On'Earth
Awesome little venue. Have some food and drinks, two floors to see the stage. Bring ear plugs though, it can leave your ears ringing if you don't.
Thomas McKown
Awesome time! Really neat venue!
Linda Coulson
I have been to the Newport twice to see Josh Krajcik perform.
This place is in much much needed repair and would be so AWESOME if it were fixed up!!! Hell I will even come paint for free, if they wanted to fix it up.
I liked the fact they had a area for people with disabilities to sit.
Staff was polite. Drinks and food reasonable priced.
Their bathrooms are upstairs which is not good for people with disabilities... altho they did let me use the one downstairs (they had to unlock), but it is more a storage, catch all with a toilet and sink.
Roy Litteral
I loved the Newport Music Hall. Jelly Roll's performance was amazing. His show was sold out. The atmosphere was super cool and everybody was jus vibin.
Lisa Mcglone
Cool place for a standing room only concert. Pizza slices are worth the six bucks a piece! Need more women's restrooms..
James Klimek
Best concert venue in the country! I’ve been to hundreds of shows here, and will always come back given the opportunity.
Chris McCoy
I love going to the Newport to see bands. I've been going there for over 20 years. It's a little run down, but that just adds to the character. No place better to see a show.
Gary Steinmetz
Been going here since the 90's i love the place, cool old music hall. Pretty slow with the beer sometimes if it's busy but great place.
Alan McKitrick
Longest running, continualy owned, music venue in the good 'ole USA! I've just about everyone who's anyone here... And now I can add Gary Numan! He's energy, show and version of chill-industrial with someone who can actually done, and not just scream, was FIRE!
William Protheroe
Charley Crockett did not disappoint!
Erick Sommers
First time here. AWESOME venue
Jax Barbie
This place would be better if ANYONE knew how to set up and run the sound system. It was built for acoustic performances, so i can see why this would be a challenge for most. BUT SERIOUSLY hire someone who knows that they are doing for the love of music.
Sarah W
A really fun venue to watch a concert! It feels very intimate, up close and personal. Look out, the drinks are strong!
kevin leo
Never ever have I had Badd concert experience here. They completely upgraded their beer selection. Thank you Newport for being awesome
Dave Stadler
Went to see Theory of a Deadman. Great show! Good acoustics. Neat old theater. Easy parking in OSU parking garage. I will have to see more shows there.
Jason Tatman
Through the years this continues to be my favorite venue for concerts. It's got a historic feel to it and its a lot of fun to be there for sold out shows.
Joe Schroeder
Best smaller venue in the country. A staple in the history of concert venues
Ashleigh M
I came here for a concert, the drinks were reasonably priced and the atmosphere was great. I had a sweet view of the stage that was only ruined by obnoxious teenagers.
Charlene Clinger
Friendly bar staff. Older building that has moral old building problems. Nice architecture.
timothy cartwright
Love this place. Been going to show here for 15+ years. Still booking great bands and always brings a sense of nostalgia.
Patrick Flannery
I dont know if this place has changed in the last 30 years, but it's still fun. A nicely intimate venue to see some great alternative bands.
Richard Brown
Been to this place many times went to a Jelly Roll show for my birthday and it was probably the best show I have ever been to there completely sold out and the vide from the crowd was electrifying
Pam Pallett
Cool vibe, decent beer - overall great place to catch a show. And if you don't want to be in the crowd, you can watch from the balcony and get a great view.
Doglover 1760
Saw 21 pilots here, it's was amazing!!! Small but it worked because everyone could hear the music!
Aaron Oliver
First show I've seen here (Wolf Alice). Loved the venue....retro, intimate setting. Not a bad seat in the house. Will be seeing future shows here.
Bruce Jacobs
Great venue to see a show!
Traci Ritter
Still my fav concert venue. A little run down but always a great show here!
Christina Sheppard
Loved seeing JoJo here. Good music Hall!!
TOP Kamiscam
Twenty one pilots in small venue, doesn't get any better
Charles Wenger
Every band on it's way up hits the Newport - and most of them do on the way down. The insides are exactly what you'd expect on campus, rode hard and put away wet. Not for the faint of heart.
Rumble Renegade
This is a diamond in the rough. The experience here is one of a kind. Although logistical issues cause delays entering so be prepared to wait. They have to pat you down due to lack of equipment. There are also not many restrooms so you will have a wait. But the show experience makes up for it.
Cliff Wright
Great classic venue. Gets decent acts in an intimate setting.
COFFMAN General Contracting
great place to see all your favorite head line bands. wish box office stayed open after concerts started though
Robert Gruber
My favorite indoor venue in Columbus for a rock show. It's got character and style while remaining small enough to guarantee a good view.
Kaelib Field
Tech N9ne is the ultimate living legend!! Love & Blessings to you, and may health and adequate wealth radiate through you as powerful as I am able to let out a breath.
Strange Music Happy 20yr Anniversary baby!!🎊🎉🎆🎆🎉🎉🎉🎊🎊🎤🎨🔊🔊🔊🎼🎶🎵🎶🎧📖📚😈🔥🔥🔥🙈🙉🙊👌✊👍👋✌🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏👏👏👏*It Goes 👆👆👆*💪🙏💪 N9NA!!! Powerful performer, electric energy, and undeniably charismatic😂😂😂😁😃#MakeTheStrangeLogoAnEmojiAlready!😂😂😂😂🐐🐐 Go see Tech N9ne when he comes back or . . .
Kyle Otterbein
Great venue, always a good time. Good bar plus a late night slice. Great view from the balcony.
Kraig Templeton
Great place!!! Hade a good time, thank you!! and thank you Benee!!!
Bethany Janney
I've been coming here for concerts for almost 15 years and the venue has yet to disappoint me. Always a great time!
Mylynda Drake
As it has been since I first went there in 1994, but less smoky. Nice to be able to be near the performers, but tough to stand for 3 hours.
rudy gerdeman
One of the best venues in Ohio. Glad they haven't torn it down yet to make a CVS or something dumb like that.
Brandon Bates
The venue is great! Very close and personal to the stage. You can get a great view no matter where you are standing!
Ryan Townsend
Good acoustics in the pit and I'm front of the sound both. Bathroom on ground floor. Balcony with stadium seating and standing room.
Kanin
Went here to see Atmosphere play, never got too crazy considering the amount of alcohol. Enjoyed the show.
Teagan Ward
Absolutely amazing concert hall
Trina Lashawn
It was a fun venue. Not maybe one for a worship concert, but I liked the space. They had pizza and drinks available.
Isaiah Wheeler
Super great venue but the sound system is complete trash. Absolutely no way that they make all this money and the vocal sound system is trash. Make a lil investment please. Surround sound please!
Jerry Ellis
Very cool place to see concerts, great view from anywhere in the building. Has some great old time charm to it.
Daniel Caron
Amazing place to see a show. Big concert feel in an intimate setting! Great venue!
Frances Bixler
Good concert but the only downfall was there was no seating it was nice though I needed to be air conditioned to better
Abby Draper
The Newport is my favorite music venue in Columbus! I love the old theatre gives and I think it's the perfect size for a concert.
Benjamin Patterson
Machine Head was magnificent. The Newport is in need of repair.
Dream believe Inspire Xplor

Stephanie Johnson
Went to see my favorite band for my birthday. What an awesome time & amazing sound. Definitely would go again.
Michael Crabtree
Awesome place for music. College vibe. Plenty of places to eat around here and parking was across the street and we only paid five bucks for parking.
Jon Ebright
So much history in this place. The bathrooms are horrifying - be warned. Definitely the best sound of the medium sized club music venues in town!
James Walters
I've been here several times over the past 20+ years. It's always a good time.
Daniel Bennett II
Went to see Reel Big Fish, loved the venue. I don't go to concerts often, but this one was a lot of fun.
Jerry Schwan
Saw the young thug concert here , and doobie and had an absolute blast, I hope to perform here someday (: Sending lots of love and positive vibes
Elizabeth Gilbert
I went to RealLife at the Newport and would have to say that it's a great venue. Lots of character; definitely worth a visit for RealLife or other bands.
C Devito
I traveled from Indianapolis to attend concerts here a few times. The venue is great for concerts. Not a bad view in the place.
Trinity Hayes
Very loud but awesome.. No sitting unless you pay for VIP extra $40 just for a chair and table...
Michael Mikulski
Great ADA accommodations. Staff was very helpful.
Nick Grimm
Amazing place to see any band the experiences and memories I've made here you cant forget. I had a bunch of great dates here.
Shanta Drake
Had a fun experience but they need a better system to storing people stuff if they are requiring you not to come in with certain items. After my event I had some items missing.
Gizmo Gearloose
Classic excellent, LOUD live venue...the drinks were a bit pricey, but it IS one of the longest running venues in Ohio, I'd not the country!
Rob Major
Iconic Central Ohio Music Landmark. There's nicer venues in town, but nothing matches the history of the Newport.
Kenneth Koepnick
Venue was solid. Small enough you’re never far from the stage. Reasonable drinks. Great for a loud show.
Bob Snow
Awesome venue. One of the few venues smart enough to have cups for water already set out at the bar.
Bill Parsley
I've been going to this venue for 50 years (it was the Agora back then) and it's still a great place for great music.
Downs Property Maintenance
Great Venue! I've been back many times because it's so good for seeing your favorite band.
Brittany Henry
Great show but need to do something with people trying to get down the steps to smoke. People just stood there trying to watch the show and was rude.
Hayden Gair
THE GRANDSON CONCERNT WAS AWSOME AND THE OPENING BAND IS REALLY GOOD TOO.
DaCoolKid
Cozy little concert hall, acoustics were amazing! No parking though since it's on campus.
Samantha Bays
No women's bathroom on the main floor kinda sucks. We went to a concert on the 6th and my mom was in a wheelchair and there was no restroom for her to use.
Makara Keo

Was a pretty cool venue but the concert started an hour later than it was supposed to
Michael Mengelt
Good place to see a show, nice staff and fair prices, only negative was very little seating
Chuck Dearth (Zombiedearth)
Beautiful place inside. My only complaint was they did not turn on the fans. It was June 29. But it was worth it for Jelly roll. Bad🍎 …
Erica W

Great intimate atmosphere - I was able to get right up next to the stage! Floors were sticky, though.
Trey Tompkins
I love a good time being with my friends at concerts!! Happy to be this close! This place rocks
Lily Schmitt
Historical divey music hall. Look up what you're allowed to bring in there because it's getting annoying with how small of a purse you are allowed to enter with
Scott Alexander
Had a blast seeing Jellyroll here. But man it was hot as hell in this place. After a few drinks I didn't care as much though lol
Russell Milbourn
Awesome atmosphere, great acoustics but pricey beer. Would go again and most likely buy more beer.
Stuart Davidson
Definitely my favorite venue in Columbus. The partnership with late night slice is a good combination.
Matthew Swallow
Everything is general admission and there are very few seats.
Leave your pocket knife at home, they'll confiscate even little ones.

If these walls could talk!! I think this is the longest continually running music venue in the US. (?) Used to be called the Columbus Agora.
Brian Juranowitch
Great venue for music, though the acoustics are a little bit echo-y.
Claudette Eddy
Had a super time at the Newport seeing Gary Numan....newport is very intimate and casual enjoyed my time there would go again drinks slightly expensive but worth it

Doug Stutes
Great venue for rock shows . Great sound and now Late Night Slice available inside.

Didn't like that I had to walk all the way to the garage to put my purse in the car the lady at the door said my small wristlet purse was too big and I was very uncomfortable holding my keys wallet and phone the entire time of the show
John Mcgough
The Little Steven concert was outstanding! The sound was excellent and the price was a bargain.

Great smaller venue with a balcony. Standing room only other than a few rows up top.
Moa
Saw Marcus King Band, man what a show and a very cool venue to boot, will return!
Greg Savikas
Cool place because of the vintage classic style, but with that comes outdated bathrooms, concessions, stage, sound.
Cathy D
Not sure why they didn't open balcony. Was initially turned away from ADA section but after opening act, was found and told there was space for me.
Lemil White
Really awesome old school music venue. Drinks prices are insane so I recommend pre gaming.
Morgan Fullen
Went to see Dr Dogg here a few years ago. Great atmosphere! Great venue!
Jordan Matthiass
Beautiful in the grungiest way. Kind of grimy, but only enough to be endearing. Not offputting at all, and the shows are always the tops.
Steve Weisal
I always have a good time going to shows at the Newport. The Hu put on a great show tonight.
Dylan Dorsey
Great atmosphere to see a band. Old school bar and stage across the street from OSU campus.
Laelle Burkhardt
One of the rare original concert venues around. Always an enjoyable experience
Randy Burghy
Kill Tony was amazing. The staff was very friendly when seating our group. Overall positive experience
Coultin Archbold
Small venue, but intimate. Descent food options as well. Merch setup is awkward but efficient
Libby Minix
Other then the strict policies about chain wallets (that artists even sell at their merch tables) and bags (that are sold as well) the staff is always amazing and friendly!!

THE BEST Place to see any show. Look up the history of this place, it's amazing!
Casey Routledge
Hands down the best venue I've ever been to for seeing shows.

Only complaint is no female bathroom downstairs or handicapped bathrooms. Kinda hard to go upstairs in a wheelchair and no elevator.
Galina Ritchey
Longest running rock venue in the country and host to some of the greatest bands ever to perform!!!
Jayleen Harris
Very accommodating for someone who has a handicap...tried to make sure I was taken care of even to opening the bathroom on the bottom floor for me when needed...outstandingly...professional staff

SeedIs Trash
Concert was good very upset how long I waited in line for and especially being first to get screwed by the VIP group.
Ryan Thorpe
Dive rock club. You could certainly use more words to describe The Newport, but they would end up saying the exact same thing less succinctly.
Nathan Zimmerman
Rather expensive bar, but the real deal is the venue. It's a nice theatre to have a concert at.
Kerry Bonaventura
Classic place to see a band. Get their early if you want a good view.
raskora
Great old venue. Lotsa memories. The old girl has seen better days, tho.

Smaller indoor environment makes for a good show. Definitely one of my favorites.

Joe Moss
Great bands but the venue needs some work.
Garry Eldred
Great venue. I'm getting too old to stand that long though.

I saw some of my favorite bands, large and small, when I was at university. You can't beat the atmosphere.

One of the oldest venues in the US. Great acoustics for a decently intimate set

Great venue, friendly staff. I can't wait to come back

Excellent venue for live music right on the edge of the Ohio State campus.

Marcus Lee
Wonderful venue... Small and personal... Loved it
Kyle Ratajczak
One of the better music venues in Columbus. It's got a dirty, grungy vibe but that's part of the charm.
