I have absolutely nothing to complain about working with the metropolitan convention center. It's a fantastic venue in the concrete Vista arts district. They provide excellent service along with organize planning and they can even be flexible which is extremely rare in the venue industry. I think. If I had any suggestion at all, it would be just to make it bigger so that the employees who work there can continue to make it better along with the city. Their staff has that indescribable x Factor quality. That just makes one a winner.

I attended South Carolina Adult Education’s Celebrating Our Success Event today at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. What a great experience! The facility is spacious, modern, and clean. It is the perfect venue to accommodate large groups in need of multiple meeting spaces. The lunch buffet was enjoyable and all the food was well seasoned and tasty. All of the staff members were friendly and accommodating. I especially would like to recognize one of your staff members-Kimberly. I encountered Kimberly several times throughout the event and each time she assisted me with a smile and the best attitude. Thanks again for such a great experience.

First time seeing a cheerleader competition & Enjoyed It Tremendously! My brother’s granddaughters from Charlotte came in first place in their age group. Alot of vendors & merch were available in these Lovely Venue for any affair. Second time here for a function

Love the service at this convention center. I was attending a conference and checked off vegan on my registration. When I arrived for lunch there was absolutely nothing available to eat. I let one of the servers know and the chef cooked up a special dish in literally 10 minutes that was Absolutely Delicious. Thank you for your service!

I was here for a focus group and felt welcomed the whole time. The breakfast pastries were delicious. While lunch was just a sandwich, the sandwich was full of ham and it was delicious. The cookies were great too. If you're hosting an event in Columbia I'd highly recommend CMCC.

This event space is very niceand spacious! There was another event being hosted at the time of the event I was there for. So,if that can give you any indication as to how spacious it is...that would be it. Very clean!! I have been here for a Black Expo some years back so I was very familiar with the space.

Columbia desperately needs a larger convention center. The city and region have outgrown this current offering. Exhibitions are tightly packed in the current setup. It is clean and well taken care of however. City leaders really need to think about expansion so that more high-quality conventions and exhibitions can come to the city.

The convention center is a great place to have large gatherings. I have been to three different times for a variety of events including the Beer Fest and a Easter service. Every time the facility has been clean and well maintained. The environmental systems have always been set to a comfortable level. The grounds are well maintained and clean. There is a weird gazebo out back, but nothing that bothers me.

What a beautiful venue! This is my 2nd trip here. I came for the Winter Pest Control Conference. The building is gorgeous. The staff are all very nice people. The event itself has been extraordinary! The convention center is pretty good. The staff are friendly and it's a large place to run. The cleanliness of the restrooms over the course of a two day event were really not good. It was obvious the next morning that the restrooms had not been cleaned the night before. They also close their concessions before the hosted events end, but don't allow food in. This seems counter intuitive and counter productive to having events there.

The University of South Carolina's College of Nursing held it convocation ceremony here. I have been here on several occasions for other events and really enjoyed myself. The staff is friendly. The building is beautiful. Depending on what is going on getting in and out can be a pain but this is definitely a nice venue.

The place is comfortable but some of the rooms were a bit dingy. The layout is good. Parking was on point. The cafe is lacking for the traffic that was there. There were thousands of people and the cafe was very limited. But there are several restaurants within walking distance. The walk was very pleasant as well.

They organize fun and affordable events all year round, and they organize the building well depending on the event! It's always a fun day attending an event here! Parking can be confusing at first, but usually there's an open deck available.

Visited the convention center for a day-long academic meeting on 12th February, 2020. It is quite spacious, very well maintained and can easily accommodate over 200 people. The restroom was clean. The building is well marked and can easily be spotted, even in heavy traffic.

Big room's and plenty of comfortable chairs. Place is clean throughout and organized. Security was visable throughout the convention center. I enjoyed the show in the main ballroom. Seating was comfortable and plenty of seats available. More handicap parking is needed.

Clean facility and great staff. I do question the recycling though. I watched the custodian changing the bags out, trash and recycling. He didn't separate them. He put them all in the same can. I wonder how they can distinguish the bags to actively recycle. Maybe they should have different colored bags or use different trash cans?

Pieces of a Dream concert moved to CMCC. It was a GREAT show and wished that all events were held there. Even with lawn chairs indoors it was a FANTASTIC time. Plenty of parking, AC, Nice/Clean bathrooms and GREAT Food Carts. FABULOUS NIGHT.

Dont get anything to eat in the little cafe unless you have hit the lottery. Goodness high priced for no reason at all. Parking is limited but it is in the middle of the city. If the prices come down in the cafe I'll give it 5 stars, the high prices are not needed. Because your with in walking distance of several resturants.

Everything was way over priced. I paid $5 for popcorn that wasn't even tasty. They were under staffed for the event so the condiment table was nasty and my granddaughter had to go without ketchup. The girl was supposed to bring some back but never did. We missed a lot of the event because we were in line forever. Parking was horrible. I'm on oxygen and had to walk a long way to the door and couldn't find a ramp. (I have bad knees as well). Got inside and it wasn't any better.

I've been to several events here over the years. All in all it's a really nice place. The food service is great and the food is decent. Parking is easy due to the massive parking lot. Getting in and out can be a hassle due to the location.

I have been to numerous events at this location from weddings to forums to conferences and all were really nice and always professional and clean.

The facilities were very nice, however the location is poorly mismanaged. The staff are overly aggressive in enforcing no outside food, even to the point of going after parents giving snacks to their toddlers. The staff seems incapable of adjusting environmental controls to match current conditions. The wifi allows enough connections, however the facility does not have enough bandwidth and during even a moderate sized event, the latency becomes a huge problem with even web mail apps not loading for several minutes. Also while there is full 4g coverage outside of the building, cell phone reception within drops calls and nearly no data usage transfers through on both the AT&T and Verizon networks.

The "vista" area downtown has many and various dining options and the convention center is very clean. I stayed at the Hilton. I didn't get to the dessert & coffee shop down the street. Very interesting. The state capital building 3 blocks away is a nice one. Designed by the same guy as the White House.

Went there to play Bingo nobody much wearing mask and management didn’t seem to care. When mentioned I was told security would come around and make them but been here 4 hrs no security has walked through!

Went to a conference here. Very nice and clean facility. Parking was free behind the center, but limited. There is alternative parking around. Inside there are multiple events...which I found to be nice. I wandered around...very cool.

Attended a convention. Staff was great. It was clean and well organized. The food was ok but there are tons of places to eat outside the convention center. One staff member was hardcore about no outside food as apparently this is a rule of the convention center.

Great facility, easy access for vendors setting up - once you can get in. Recently went to deliver items, couldn't get in the loading dock door. Rang the door bell several times, no one answered the intercom/ buzzer, someone happen to come out another door and I went in that way. When I went in, there must have been 7-8 men standing aroundthe security office area. After standing there obviously needing done help, I had to interupt and ask them to unlock a larger door to get items inside. The man that did unlock the elephant doors was nice and helpful.

...I don't know what it is about this place, but this building is awesome. Perfect for conventions such as Nashicon, Vahallacon, and Banzaicon. Or for any other event where you need huge rooms, but not massive ones. It's just an overall welcoming environment...except for the strict no outside food/drink policy.

Been there for both LEGOFEST 2018 and The 2018 Soda City ComiCon. Had a major blast at both! At ComiCon, I got to meet Sgt Slaughter of WWF and GI Joe fame. And also got to meet Billy West who did the voices of Stimpy, Doug, Philip J Fry from Futurama, and the Red M&M on the commercials. I plan to go to every one in the future...
