HIRE T&J. HIRE JENNA. Everyone at my wedding raved about the DJ, and they didn’t even know the half of it. From the time we first sat down to talk about the overall vision for the day, I was so impressed. Jenna is part music expert, part wedding planner, part energy reader. I immediately knew I was in good hands, and that she had a feel for what was important to us. Our meetings were always productive and she brought up all these points I had never even thought about, like dinner details that would affect the pacing of the reception. It made me appreciate the art (and the work!) that goes into it all. The night of the wedding, you could not drag me off the dance floor. I’m pretty sure I ignored some guests because I couldn’t stop dancing. She had such a pulse on the energy of the crowd and adjusted the music without missing the beat. Everything she played felt like us, but also appealed to the group at large, young and old and everybody in between. She made my wedding what it was, which was the best day ever. This review is long overdue. My husband and got I married in August 2021, and DJ Mike from Toast and Jam was absolutely incredible. He is professional, communicative, friendly, and had our guests on the dance floor all night long. My favorite thing about Mike is he understood our more, “unique” style of music and was able to mix that in with more mainstream songs. All of our friends kept telling us how great the music was thanks to Mike's attention to detail and energy!

Rachel from Toast & Jam was the best! She was our favorite vendor to work with throughout the whole process and did an incredible job. My wife and I loved the way Toast & Jam helped us hone in on the sound and vibe we wanted for our day, and everything felt special and customized, from the ceremony prelude to the very last song. At the reception, Rachel kept our crowd on the dance floor the whole night, and everyone had a blast as a result. She also worked with me to help me plan a secret surprise serenade for my wife with my guitar. Could not recommend them enough!

If you're looking to have a full dance floor the entire night, Toast & Jam is for you. Where do I even start with this review? DJ Mary was everything we could hav possibly wanted in a DJ. She brought the best energy to our reception and had a full understanding of the vibe we were looking for. Toast & Jam really knows how to read a room and pick up on what's keeping people dancing - despite your crowd's age. We had multiple generations at our reception, but despite the age gap almost every guest was on the dance floor. Toast & Jam isn't your cookie cutter DJ experience. They really take the time to get to know you and what your music vibe is. DJ Mary took our... interesting... requests (we demanded our cocktail hour be 'songs you'd hear at home depot or the dentist office') and completely jumped on board. She embraced our quirks and helped make our wedding uniquely our own. I've been to A LOT of weddings, and although I'm slightly biased, I can say that my dance floor was one of the best. Stop looking now and hire Toast & Jam. You WILL NOT regret it.

We got married on 7/23/22 and I am now just writing this review because I have finally recovered from the absolute BANGER of a dance party that went down! Toast and Jam were amazing, Norah was our DJ and she took the time to get to know us, our musical tastes, and expectations for the wedding. She exceeded all expectations from the ceremony all the way through the reception. She made our night a one of a kind, truly unforgettable experience. We have gotten so many compliments on the DJ since our wedding, everything ranging from " I've never seen a wedding dance floor packed like that the whole time" to "My feet hurt from dancing so much". I cannot recommend Toast and Jam enough for all your DJ needs. Thank you Norah!!!

Fallon McDermott (and Toast & Jam) are a huge part of what made our wedding the happiest, most fun day of our lives. Being able to meet with Fallon before we booked gave us confidence in the service we were booking and helped us stay confident our wedding day would be a blast. Fallon was such a joy and so easy to work with throughout the month leading up to the wedding and helped make sure we had the perfect music for every moment of the night. To quote some of our guests, “the vibes were immaculate” the entire night. Fallon knew how to keep people on the dance floor (and how to get them out there) and we appreciated her ability to adjust the music to who was on the floor and keep the dance floor rocking for a solid 3+ hours!! All the bride wanted was to dance all night, and Fallon and Toast & Jam ensured that happened, 100%. We have, and will continue, to recommend Toast & Jam to all of our friends!!! Just book them!!

Per my guests, with regards to my DJ, mid-dancing, "SHE DOES NOT MISS!" We Love Toast & Jam!! Rachel was the DJ for my 8/13/22 wedding in downtown Chicago. We had met with other DJs we liked, but when we had our first meeting with Rachel, she was the OBVIOUS choice. Her energy from start to finish of the process was amazing. She asked all the right questions and took in all the info. She played an incredible variety of songs which included a lot of our requests, and then she supplemented them PERFECTLY. Nothing cheesy, just fun songs to dance to. We didn't do a single line dance, no corny wedding songs, just bangers! I also hired a saxophone player separately to play alongside Rachel during dancing. She didn't hesitate or skip a beat when I came to her about this or when it happened. She was 100% on board to make my vision come to life and make the greatest dance party I've ever been to!

I cannot begin to find the words to explain how amazing Norah is. She was so incredibly easy and fun to communicate with when planning our wedding! My husband is NOT a dancer, but he spent the entire night on the dance floor along with a lot of wedding guests I never expected to see dancing. Norah made sure the night went so smoothly and played everything I wanted to hear. I have the most fond memories thinking about having an absolute blast on the entire dance floor all night. So many of my guests could not stop talking about how great the music was, and I have already given several referrals. My wife and I had an amazing experience with Toast and Jam for our wedding! First of all, we had a queer vibe for our wedding, and Marjorie was the BEST DJ for our giant queer love fest. They took the time to understand us as a couple, AND they brilliantly noticed the vibe of our dance floor as the event progressed. Marjorie was kind, funny, organized, and effective in helping us "know" what we wanted! It did take some time for us to choose certain songs, and Marjorie was flexible and helpful in guiding us. If you're trying to throw a great queer party, I would 100% go with them as your DJ! Toast and Jam was a great experience for us. It was worth the price to have such a dynamite dance floor!!!

We loved Marjorie! Our main goal was to have the dance floor packed all night - as the bride I don't think I ever stopped dancing. They made the best recommendations and played everything we wanted. Loved working with DJ Norah for our wedding! She and T&J were total pros beginning to end. From our first meeting, I knew we were in good hands. Norah is very experienced, she asked a ton of questions, and even helped us reconsider the schedule to make the event flow better. She communicated clearly about the logistics and was very proactive. Music selection was a huge part of our wedding, and Norah was super receptive to our ideas. In all the stress of the wedding, I had zero concerns about the music. In the end, we got to celebrate one of the most joyful days of our lives with a magical indie soundtrack. Couldn't have asked for more! The sound and mixing were perfect, and the dance floor was such a blast. We also did the photobooth, which was a lot of fun for our guests. TL;DR just hire them :)

Dustin was our DJ from toast and Jam. He was awesome to work with! My partner and I hadn’t been to too many weddings previously, so Dustin was very helpful in guiding us for the preparation. During the wedding he did a wonderful job transitioning from each part to the next and was also very fun to be around. The music was fantastic and we danced the whole night away. Was very adaptable in responding to so many music requests from the guests as well. 1000% recommend Toast and Jam for anyone’s wedding and shout out again to Dustin for being so fun to work with.

When my wife and I were looking for a DJ for our wedding, we had asked a number of our friends who they had used for their weddings - the response kept coming in the same, Toast & Jam. They were great to interact with and we ended up getting paired with Rachel, who was absolutely incredible. We're still getting comments over a week later at how great the music and vibe was for our wedding. Rachel was wonderful to collaborate with leading up to the day, as we did a number of zoom calls to align on details. She was flexible in working with us on our more special songs (Father/Daughter, Mother/Son, etc.) setting the right mix of songs for everyone, and really read the energy of our guests so well. We highly recommend Rachel, and appreciate Toast & Jam for setting it all up.

DJ Tabitha from Toast & Jam was the absolute best! We could not have imagined a better DJ for our wedding last month. She was very professional, organized, helpful and clear throughout the planning. We did not have a planner and she was on top of everything and kept the event moving seamlessly. She had wonderful suggestions and really listened to what we wanted. We had wanted an epic dance party for years and she delivered. Her energy and music choices were perfect. All of our guests raved about the music. We cannot say enough good things about Tabitha. Music was the one non-negotiable, "needed to be perfect," part of our wedding. Everything else we could be flexible on, but not that. After hearing so many amazing things about Toast and Jam from friends and colleagues that had used their services in the past, I put my trust in their word, and signed right up. And man, it's an amazing feeling when things surpass expectations. Our first T&J DJ left the company unexpectedly, but then the wonderfully incredible Mary Nisi stepped in and she rocked our faces off. We connected instantly to her and she understood exactly what we wanted. She was very thorough with her questions, and gave us some incredible ideas and suggestions. Nothing we threw her way phased her and she nailed it all day of. Had our venue not been ridiculous about extending time, we would have kept Mary for even longer. The dance floor was never empty, and she was a killer MC. You will not be disappointed with Toast and Jam. Knowing they have backups in case your DJ cant make it was extremely comforting, and all of them I'm SURE are fabulous if Mary is any indication. Now I just need another excuse to hire them again!

We had a very specific plan for our wedding music and Dave worked really well with us the entire way. We appreciated his input and selections on the drinks/dinner music but we really appreciated that he used our specific playlist for the dancing later on. We could have easily imagined a DJ trying to go off script, but Dave understood how important our wedding plan was to us and stuck to our requests. He was further great about handling people attempting to request songs, take the mic, etc. and made sure our wedding plans went off smoothly. Thank you very much Dave!

Caitlin from Toast & Jam is amazing!! She helped make our wedding celebration such an amazing, special, and most importantly, FUN night! Caitlin was the first and only DJ we spoke to because we knew right away that she would rock the role of DJ! I was a bit particular about not having super cheesy, "top hits", and overplayed wedding songs. Caitlin understood exactly the type of vibe I was going for and nailed the execution. She even went above and beyond and cut our intro song into a specific version I was looking for to fit our timing!!! I never expected that but she did it!!!! The questionnaire she had us fill out was specific so that she had every answer she needed and it just really made us feel like we had picked the right DJ group. We had a PHENOMENAL experience with DJ All Klein and honestly wish we could host our wedding reception every year. She was a pleasure to work with, from her playlists and vibe, her communication and suggestions, to feeling what the dance floor needed in the moment. We cared less about specific songs and more about the overall vibe/mood of the wedding, and she nailed. "Best wedding DJ I've ever heard!" The day after our wedding, multiple guests were coming up and telling us this! DJ Mike kept everyone on the floor ALL NIGHT long. We both love music, have different tastes, but had no idea where to begin with wedding music. From our first conversation with Mike, we knew we were in good hands. He guided us through it all, provided suggestions for songs where we were stuck, and made sure the music fit us -- he even found creative ways to include Phish & the Grateful Dead into the cocktail hour as a nod to my husband's favorite bands. The music was the perfect combination of being crowd pleasing and feeling personal and exactly like us. HIRE TOAST & JAMS!!!!

HIGHLY recommend Toast & Jam. We worked with Marjorie Alford and they were sooooo fun and easy to work with. Marjorie made the wedding planning process stress free and smooth, they had great recommendations for music choices, asked great questions to make sure our day was planned our perfectly, and was very professional. Because Marjorie was so easy to work with, it took a lot of planning out songs off of our plate because we were able to trust them with music choices, and all of our guests danced all night!! The great part about working with Toast & Jam is they have DJ's available in case of cancellations. We did have our original DJ cancel (totally okay! it happens!) but Norah had someone already lined up for us to meet with (Marjorie) and it was super stress free!

We booked Toast & Jam early on in our process knowing we wanted to make sure we could secure a DJ who could create the type of energy we wanted for our wedding. Dustin was incredible attentive leading up and made sure we were engaged into the key moments and having great music, while still getting to hear the songs we wanted to hear. Our guests had a blast and he got the mark with pretty much every song. Not even sure this is a negative, but we did have a different DJ who was assigned to us at first, and then left, but we felt confident in both DJs and that confidence never wavered.

DJ Dustin from Toast and Jam did an amazing job with the music at our wedding! From the beginning he was very easy to plan things with, he listened to our preferences and helped guide us in putting together a plan for not only the music but the speeches and general flow of the day. He had multiple microphones incase some would fail (as they had a tendency to do at our venue). During the wedding he assisted everyone who needed to speak with microphones. During the reception he was absolutely great at keeping the energy high. He had a good mix of his music, general crowd pleasers and requests. I received so many compliments from friends and family about how the music was spot on and kept them on the dance floor all night! We chose Dustin after we saw him at a friends wedding and we were very happy. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

Karissa was the best DJ ever! Communication with her was really easy and she was really genuinely invested in making sure we had an awesome wedding. She was awesome and incredible! From the start - she was so warm and friendly and we knew we would be in good hands with her. We had a complicated ceremony that had a lot of moving parts and she nailed them all perfectly. The power went out at our reception so Karissa immediately took her battery powered unit and started playing music so we still could keep the party going until we got power back on. The music was spot on - we had soooo much fun and multiple people came up to us to tell us how much they loved the music and how perfectly curated the playlist was. I would highly recommend Karissa and thought she was the best DJ ever!

Toast and Jam’s “Do Not Play List” was what drew us to working with them and after being matched with DJ Dustin Drase, we knew we had found our wedding DJ. Right away we knew w were in great hands given Dustin’s extensive history DJing hundreds of weddings! Through two great “get-to-know-you” Zoom meetings, we gave him a sense of what music we liked, what our guests were saying would get them onto the dance floor and on the day of our wedding, he nailed it! He felt the room and crowd perfectly and we never had a lull on the dancefloor. We also had a minor crisis for our outdoor park ceremony and Dustin came through with a battery-powered sound system that worked like a charm. Thank you Dustin and Toast and Jam for making our wedding unique and memorable.

We had our wedding at the Adler Planetarium. Our dj, Chris S. was amazing!!! We had very specific requests for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and first dance. He was so kind working with us to make all the cues work. Our music was our way to personalize and ‘decorate’ the wedding. We are so grateful to have Chris S as our dj. We love tech house, and he mixed our must plays beautifully!! He even mixed them in ways we hadn’t heard; we felt like we were at a concert. He played a great mix of music for our guests and for us. DJ Alli was the BEST! We had the best time working with Alli from start to finish for our wedding. She was so organized and responsive throughout our whole planning process. T&J made it so easy to get started with the daunting task of providing input for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception music with their very helpful guide/info sheet. It was also very easy to share with family to get their input too. I also made some Spotify playlists and Alli did a fantastic job at incorporating the themes of those playlists and songs in hers. Apart from a stellar dance floor, Alli also made sure the flow of the wedding was smooth as she MC'ed the whole night and did the best job of keeping it light and fun but also clear enough for guests to follow. Amazing! I have hired Toast & Jam for several events - from restaurant openings to charity fundraisers to my sister's wedding - and they always do a fantastic job! The office is very responsive, turning around accurate quotes very quickly. And the DJs are truly gems! They show up on time, play awesome music that gets people dancing, and are generally just fun to be around. Can't wait to hire them again!

I can't say enough good things about DJ Kristin. We wanted people having fun on the dance floor the entire night and that is exactly what we got. DJ Kristin was proactive and thoughtful throughout the entire process. She spun jams and kept it accessible when I say the dance floor was packed with people ages 21-75 all night (and we extended the set by a couple hours) our guests could not stay away from the dance floor. Especially meaningful to me, Kristin found a string arrangement of "our song" and I was able to surprise my Fiancé* (*HUSBAND) by walking down the aisle to Depeche Mode's 'just can't get enough'. Our wedding was a blast start to finish, ceremony through last call, largely because of Kristin. Pictured here the last song Robyn's 'Call Your Girlfriend'. Toast & Jam was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding from start to finish. We met with Katy Albert, our future DJ, before even booking T&J, so it was great to already know and meet the actual DJ so far in advance (to make our tastes and personalities would line up). During the initial meeting everything was thoroughly explained, and we knew right away that Katy would be an amazing fit for our wedding - we booked not long after. Leading up to the wedding, Katy provided us with a detailed list of songs that T&J likes (as well as a list of songs that they DO NOT recommend, which was very much appreciated). We went through the list and circled ones that we liked, crossed off those that we didn't, and wrote out any particular songs that meant a lot to us that weren't on the list. Super easy. We had a second meeting not long before the wedding, where we went over all the final details, went over the ceremony timing, and finalized everything. Again, super easy. The day of the wedding, Katy showed up even earlier than she was needed, set up all of her equipment, and got the music going right on schedule. The songs she played during the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception were EXACTLY what we were hoping for, and the music was a huge part of what made our wedding as amazing and special as it was. We would recommend Toast & Jam (and Katy specifically) to anyone.

I looked at reviews and comments on specific DJs before we booked, and read nothing but good things about Shannon. We requested her specifically and thankfully for us, she was free! (We booked about 14 months before our wedding) Shannon is amazing. She is so sweet, and also very attentive to details. She remembered every small thing we asked and also made great suggestions when we didn’t have a specific song in mind for a particular moment. On the night of the wedding, she knew exactly what was happening and when. She knew our bridal party’s names and how to pronounce them and what order they were supposed to be in. Those sound like small things, but these were things that it was so nice not to have to worry about on the night of our wedding! When it came time to open the dance floor, Shannon played a perfect mix of current songs, oldies and classics. Everything we wanted and nothing we didn’t! She and her assistant were super fun, grooving to the music they were playing! People fed off her energy, and it kept the dance floor packed until the lights went on at the end of the night! We received so many comments about how great she was and how fun the music selection was. Our photographer kept saying, “you guys really made a great choice with Toast and Jam, they are great!!” We would hire Toast and Jam and Shannon again and again!

Rachel K. from Toast & Jam, is the best DJ to hire for your wedding/event! I got married 12/30/18, and she covered everything from ceremony, cocktail hour, to the reception! We had a large group of 250 guests, and she covered everything professionally and flawlessly. We met with her twice, first time was to meet her and discuss our event/wedding. She was super professional, tons of experience, but also very personable and attentive to our taste in music and preferences. The second time we met her was about a month out from our wedding date, and we just finalized our taste of music, what was ok to play, what we didn't want played etc. I didn't have our ceremony music finalized, but she was super helpful and sent me a list of suggestions per her prior experience. Then I just emailed her the week before once I had the rest of the details finalized. The day of she was fantastic. I didn't notice any transition from ceremony, to cocktail, to reception. There were no breaks in the music, and she really listened to our cocktail hour and dinner playlist, while we wanted to stick to the basic rat pack, we also wanted to through in some of our alternative favorites like leon bridges, and the lumineers etc, and she was sure to do that too! The dance floor was packed the whole night, while I gave her some songs that I wanted her to play, I also told her I trusted her judgement and I'm glad I did. She did great at feeling out the crowd and playing what kept people out on the dance floor! I wish I could give her more than 5 starts, she exceeded our expectations!!! Another good thing about hiring a DJ through toast & jam, is that it is a company, and not one person. So if Rachel could not make it for any reason they would've sent another on call DJ in her place with all of our info! Toast & Jam is 100% worth every penny, they will set the whole tone of your big day/event!

You can tell he has been doing this a long time and after only asking us a few questions about our music preferences, he felt confident he could deliver on what we were looking for - and he totally did! He helped guide us through the process of selecting our ceremony music, entrance songs, and first dance songs, and he took care of the rest. We even gave him a short list of must-hear songs and he perfectly worked them in throughout cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. Throughout the night of our wedding and even now over a month later, we continue to hear comments from our family and friends about how great the music selections were and how much fun they had. From the moment the dance floor opened until the last song, the dance floor was packed, everyone had a great time, and we have Dustin to thank!!

With only 7 weeks to plan a wedding, we were referred to Toast & Jam by a friend in the wedding planning business and we were SO LUCKY that Rachel was available to DJ our wedding. We were having a small (60pp) wedding on the roof of Gibsons Italia, so I was a little nervous on space to dance, if we would get people to dance, and even what songs to pick (we only knew what our song would be). We met with Rachel on Zoom to see if this would be a good fit and loved her vibe from the start. She made you feel like you could just enjoy your day and to let her take care of the rest. We didn't want to give her a list of songs to play as that's her area of expertise and she was wonderful at suggesting father/ daughter and processional songs, etc. It took the stress out of it for us so we could tend to other things. Come day of, RACHEL WAS AMAZING! She was there early and setup before we showed up, had people on the dance floor the whole night (even our 80 year old uncle with a cane!), and was the one reminding us on timing, speeches, etc. I'm not sure what we would've done with her. She is an absolute gem and I just wish we had another party we needed a DJ for. Highly recommend!

During our initial meeting with Tabitha, I told her that my main goal for our wedding was to have a raging dance party and she delivered! My husband and I clicked with Tabitha at that meeting; she understood our music tastes and that we wanted all age groups to enjoy themselves. As we got closer to the wedding date, we had a final phone call with Tabitha to solidify our wedding dance songs and express and concerns/wants for the wedding. Even though I'm sure T&J don't totally want me to tell my story...because they don't prefer that their clients call them 8 DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING but ok that's what happened. My partner and I decided 8 days before the wedding, that, well, we were going to get married. It was a push from my father who was dying. We arranged for a FAST wedding, and while my father wasn't able to make it to the wedding (he passed days before) the wedding was truly a profound, raw, emotional and beautiful experience. And Mary from T&J rolled with every single punch we threw her way. My partner was in Puerto Rico, and I was dealing with the death of my father. I know this is a lot for a Google Review, but honestly it just shows the empathy of Mary and the whole crew at T&J. They pulled together a photo booth for us, worked with our pretty wild and spastic playlist and created the most memorable night in a blizzard for my hubs and I, and 75 of our closest friends and family. Guys, this is all so fast, I don't even have official photos yet. But I'll get those up once I get 'em back. To the T&J crew, from the absolute bottom of my heart - thank you for bringing your A-game when I needed it. <3
