Laura LaneLovely event space. The University of Vermont spared no expense in renovating this historic mansion. After a fraternity vacated the building, it was a disaster! Partial views of the lake from an upstairs balcony. The view is probably better when the leaves are off the trees.
Ellen BThe UVM Alumni House was the absolute perfect choice for our wedding reception. The space is beautiful, both the restored historic house as well as the new pavilion space. Upon our first visit my husband and I were both impressed with the beauty and history of the space and how warm and inviting it felt. The entire team that we worked with from the Alumni House was helpful, organized and efficient and super responsive to all of our questions and communication leading up to our wedding. One of my favorite things about having our reception at the Alumni House was we had use of almost the entire space (both floors of the historic house and porches as well as the pavilion) for the whole day. It was a beautiful setting for me and my bridesmaids to get ready in the morning and when guests arrived for the reception, everyone was able to find a nook or space in the house to mingle and relax that felt cozy and inviting. After looking at other wedding venues in the Burlington area, nothing compares to the value and beauty of the Alumni House.
James DalgarnoMy wife and I got married at the UVM Alumni House this June, and we couldn't have found a better place for our special day. The Main House is beautiful with tons of incredible, historic details, while the new Pavilion is modern with the right touches to make it feel consistent with the house that it is attached to. The whole staff went above and beyond in assisting us with every detail necessary to make our dream wedding come true.
Jennifer SmithThe preservation of this Burlington treasure is testament to the forethought and downright smarts at UVM. The detail and rehabilitation/replication of the most minor features from the stained glass to the awnings rescued this home from one of its previous incarnations as a fraternity. Even the baby grand piano was meticulously restored by a local tuner and craftsman. I've heard only good things from others who have held weddings or parties -- the staff is on top of all aspects throughout the planning and delivery. This is my first choice for hosting a classy event in the Burlington area.
