OMG.! I can’t thank the Canvas and their staff enough for all of the amazing work that they put into my wedding. From helping me shape my Pinterest board in to an unforgettable night. They literally thought of every aspect and kept me from being a bridezilla.! Marie our does herself on the decor and James made all of our catering absolutely amazing. The owner even cooked my bridal party breakfast while we used the bridal suite to prepare for the day. Whenever I have an event in Birmingham we will be using the Canvas team.!

My husband and I had our wedding here last weekend. It was absolutely amazing! We chose this venue due to it being one of the few elegant spaces in the Birmingham area with the added benefit of being a black owned establishment. As a one stop shop, the Canvas made our experience less stressful, since neither one of us live in Birmingham and we’re planning from out of state. JL and Marie make a great team. JL’s personality can be viewed as extroverted and too direct, but he really is nice and wants the best for the bride. Marie can be viewed as introverted and quiet, but her creativity is top tier. We highly recommend this venue. Be clear on your non-negotiables and be open enough to let them take the reins on a few things, you might be pleasantly surprised 😉

I would like to say that the Canvas Event Center is a fabulous venue! I love the fact that it is a one stop shop! The owners are very knowledgeable and skilled at their craft! I am super excited to have our graduation celebration here. The owners kept us smiling and kept us calm in planning our event! If you are looking for excellence this is your place.

Very nice place! I knew it as the Cedar House years ago! I attended an event for Lashunda Scales, running for Mayor of Birmingham with the group After 7 performing. The venue is very nice! The decorations were amazing! Bathrooms very clean! Food was great! all done by the husband/wife duo who own the venue! I would definitely recommend this place and keep in mind for any of my own future events! Parking wasn't bad either! I would give 10 stars if I could!!

We were to celebrate my grandfather's 80th bday.... And this place is beautiful and i would recommend this if you wanted something elegant and sophisticated. And the food was also on point.

Great venue! We used them for my wife’s repast. The food and decor were excellent. The owner went out of his way to make it as easy and stress free as possible. He is blunt and I like that. He wasn’t trying to get over on me and take advantage of my grief. I will definitely be back.

They did our family reunion banquet the theme was the African Heritage Gala. When I say this room was decorated sooooo beautifully it was an understatement. They brought Africa to Birmingham for our reunion. The food was amazing! They had so many options and it all was good. If you ever have an event they should be the people you call. They are so friendly and so helpful. You can never go wrong when you are dealing with a AAMU bulldog. Best event planning company hands down. All they need you to is show up (and pay of course lol).

My family reunion gala was held at the Canvas Event Center. It was an African themed event in which the Canvas Center provided the venue, decoration and food. Everything was absolutely perfect. The ambiance was over the top perfect. When walked in we were in awe. There was no detail left undone. The food tastes good and looked good. They were ready for us and it showed. I highly recommend this establishment. This by far was the highlight of the 2019 Russell reunion. Everyone is still talking about what a great time we had at our Gala. Thank you Cavas Event Center. I began working with JL (owner) over a year ago to prepare for my Family's Reunion on last weekend....When I tell you they(The Canvas Event Center) showed up and out for us. The Decor was majestic, the food was 5 Star and management was wonderful. I will be using this location again for my next event...👍.....And don't forget this is definitely the best facility in the Birmingham area..... If you are in the market for an amazing event venue with top notch customer service, CANVAS EVENT CENTER IS WHERE YOU NEED TO BE!!!! It’s been almost a week and I am truly still speechless! Mr. JL, Mrs. Marie and the Canvas Staff, I can’t thank you enough for everything that you did to make our wedding day the BEST DAY EVER! From the first time I spoke with JL over the phone, I KNEW this would be an adventure. And he and his lovely wife did not disappoint. I am still in awe of how amazing everything came out to be from The planning process, the consultations, the food tasting, the actual food and decor!!! The Daniels surpassed all of my expectations! The decor was breathtaking! I only gave Mrs. Marie colors, theme, and a request for a very long estate table. So worked her magic and gave me more than I could’ve ever dreamed or imagined. Same for JL and his Executive Chef! I only asked (begged lol) for a southern meal with turkey wings and shrimp and grits! Boy did they deliver!!!!! The guests are still raving about the food! JL & Marie, thank you soooo much from the bottom of my heart for everything. I love you both!!

The Home Depot had their holiday party Dec 6, 2018. Our associates indicated that it was the best company holiday party they have ever attended! Canvas Event Center was there to provide everything from the space, food, decoration, entertainment and photography. It was a smooth plug and play operation! Our leadership team was able to fully enjoy engagement with our associates - Which is not an experience we have ever had before during our events. We will definitely be using The Canvas Event Center as our main spot for all leader and associate events moving forward!!!
