Very good arena. But big. Musicians far away. Good large screens. Good sound systems. Sit on front sidelines if possible. Avoid main floor seating if you are back. Too many waving people blocking your view.

I always enjoy going to the fair at the metra. The art exhibits are always so amazing and inspiring to see, as are the 4H exhibits. The fair always seems to be adding new vendors every year as well, be it food or clothing and item vendors, their is always something new to see and experience. I would also recommend getting the value pass. The Meta has put one some great shows and concerts during the fair, and it is totally worth it, even if you only attend one show.

MetraPark is one of the most wonderful places in the world as far as I'm concerned the grounds are grassy with a lake there's picnic tables everywhere the grandstand is awesome the rodeo is far as I'm concerned is the best there is-- five stars

We bought tickets to a concert in June, and can not go do to unforseen circumstances/family emergency. When I contacted them, they were gracious enough to refund our tickets. It warmed my heart, technically they did not have to do that, but they did. It was much appreciated. This is the kind of thing that makes people repeat customers. Thank you Metra!

The show was phenomenal. However, it was freezing temperatures outside and the arena personnel only used 1 set of doors and maybe a half dozen security to check people going in. This meant that everyone had to be in the freezing weather for an extended amount of time. The show started at 8 pm and half the people in line didn't get in until after 8:30. Because of this bad logistics, I will not be back for a long, long time.

Went to Shinedown with my wife and it was amazing. Diamante was incredible and The Pretty Reckless was outstanding. I love seeing big shows like this at The Metra it is an inctlredible venue to see a good show.

I was more than pleasantly surprised with this arena. The parking lots have plenty of space, and the lots are very nice without many potholes. The food selection was great and beer and drinks were extremely reasonably priced. The only negative I would say is that the seating is tight but that's to be expected with most venues of this size. Merchandise was readily accessible and they had plenty of options available at the concert I attended. I highly recommend this venue for concerts, shows, etc. I will be back!

Got VIP tickets for a meeting and greet and we spent 6 hrs just standing in lines for general entry to get let in before us. Seemed like a total lack of communication and understanding of what was going on for everyone. The concert it self was awesome and the crowd control staff were great. Even passing out water to people.

I love attending shows and events at the arena! Staff is excellent and friendly, and they always have someone great performing. My only issue is that the Beer Garden is a little on the pricey side for beer.

I've seen quite a few shows here and theyve always been pretty great. The staff(for the most part) are super friendly and nice. I've even been in a mosh pit and security helped me by pulling me out of the pile of sweaty drunk men(that's not all the people who participate in those, but those were the kinds of people I was suffocating under).

The venue is great. It doesn't madder if your on the floor or if you get seats higher up, you still have a great view of everything. Even the sound is still awesome too, for concert events.

All the staff are pretty friendly. Lots of parking. Ok food that is overpriced.. that is pretty standard. The tickets are reasonable and the seats aren't too bad. Hard liquor or beer. My husband and I have seen several shows and have always had a great time.

Went to see a concert and was impressed with the facility. Concessions had a HUUUUGE line but service was fast and it didn't feel long at all. Sound and lighting was very good, seats were comfortable. Only negative was trying to get out of the parking lot afterwards but that's to be expected.

To many country concerts and not enough good rock n roll shows. I understand that to book big names is expensive, but come on, spend money to make money. Ozzy sold out, Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie sold out, they let so many shows pass us by, I’ve looked up some bands, who have shows in cities to the east and they pass right through here to Seattle. Maybe some new blood is needed up in the office over there. I enjoy the older bands, Foreigner, Styx, ect, but I would love to see some good Rock shows!! Wake up Metrapark!!!

I was just surprised by the sound quality for an arena this place is great to go see a concert good seating angles. The lines get long like most places. The parking was free. Nice venue overall and much better sound company than was at Brick Breeden several weeks before.

The fair is always a good time. My only complaint is that their seem to be less local businesses represented and that one of the local business that is ends up feeling like an embedded ad. Overall my kids loved it. My girlfriend and I had an amazing time. The party we went with enjoyed it. My youngest even found a new love in motorcycles.

Overall happy to have spent 4 nights here. Had a couple of issues which were resolved that day without question. Only complaint is the breakfast bar doesn't include what is depicted in the online pictures. I would stay here again if I was ever going to need a room in Rapid City SD.

Seems like popular place. But we get not good memorable feelings. We went for Jurassic quest and was fool pack of people. Not sure that any one was wary about fire code. Parking was full all the time. To get spot you need to have luck. Hope they will work to organize next events better

Had a great time all 3 days at the PBR Bullriding event at the Arena. Seats are spacious and vendors are available on both sides. Need more handicap parking. Rides to the door for challenged people would be appreciated. We have this in other arenas. But it is very nice.

Awesome venue. I've visited Billings 3 times in the past 2 years and have been to 4 separate events in the Metra complex. There's always something going on to entertain. The facilities are top notch. I'm just jealous we don't have a venue that even compares in Idaho Falls, ID!

I always love going to events at MetraPark. Sometimes the lines seem slow when getting in for concerts, but I am told that is the Artists who require certain security measures. Restrooms are clean. Air Conditioning is summer months. Great Prices on food , try Fat Tacos.

Not sure why we had to pay a fee this year for the gun show. Don't remember a fee the past couple years. Also don't like that they disarm law abiding citizens when that's the most patriotic event you can attend

Charged me 16 bucks, the price of an all day pass. I showed up for the last 4 semifinal games, the evening session scheduled to start at 3;30. not the 4 early loser out games. Ticket girl told me that the evening session didn't start till 6 P.M.. $3.50 for a bottle of water. Good food shacks. Like the seats also.

I have been to many events here. The staff's always friendly, there's a good variety when it comes to food vendors and and the sound system is pretty good. They have made many improvements since the tornado hit.

Huge. Parking leaves much to be desired. I flew in from Illinois for my nephews graduation. I have a pinched nerve in my back, along with a herniated disk and had to walk what seems like forever down the stairs from the parking lot to the entrance. Couldn't prove a handicap for special parking.

Great Place... Enjoyed the Class B tournements... My only suggestion... You really need to clean the seats... The cushions are filthy as is the plastic parts of the seats.... Including the cup holders.... Very very dirty... Such a nice place for events... You just need to clean it up!

Great concert venue expect large crowds for all the shows and rodeos they do. Tickets are high priced but all in all a good place. Really love the yearly fair they put on in August.

I have gone to a variety of events here. I have gone to a demolition derby,a rock concert and stand up comedy. After being at some very large Venues, the Metra is a great size. Not too small that larger productions can't perform but small enough that cheap seats are still close enough to the stage.

This is the very best place in the state of Montana to see a big crowd concerts, sporting events, rodeos or motor sports. The stadium seats are comfortable for the most part. The ease of getting around is good for the size. It's a pretty facility with a nice floor plan and layout. The angles of sight to events are all great or good. The Metra has nicely placed bathrooms and concessions. I have seen some of the very best concerts of my life at the Metra, and I have been to many venues and shows.

There were no signs directing you to the right building. I parked in a handicap spot thinking I was close to the door, but, I was a long distance away. The walk was grueling.

Not a bad areana! Staff was pleasant, and the venue was clean. Biggest set backs I had was trying to actually get there and getting in. The roads leading up to the arena are lack luster and poorly marked (which, I know is more on the city, but still a concern). Once there, trying to find parking was a pain as well, as the parking lot is also lack luster. No very well lit, and for the size of it, I wish there was more markings so you could have a better idea of where you parked. Once I got parked and to the doors, I got told I had to take my 6mp camera back to my car, but my 12mp phone was ok. I was ok with it, but I wish there was signs or something so I didn't have to wait in line twice.

Went here for a concert (shinedown) for 15th anniversary. Unfortunately they didn't have any warning of pyrotechnics that triggered issues with my disabled vet husband. After some issue, Carol with staff was amazingly accommodating and very touching!!!

Probably the best place to see a big show in Montana. Its probably not as spacy and luxurious as some other venues. But this is the entertainment heart of Central/Eastern Montana. Never a dull memory to be made at any event hosted at the Metra.

A great venue for a concert. We went to see Nickelback, the sound system was awesome! We were very close to the stage, and everything still sounded great, without over static, or headache after three hours of two lead in bands and Nickelbacks manin show! The only downside was the distance from the parking area to the arena. It was also a long uphill walk or stair climb which made it harder for some of us folks over 50...

Been here twice for food shows, so my only objection is that the metra park area is quite large, so a few more giant signs to help show people around the large complex, and to direct them to one of the couple buildings down there, would be an easy addition.

Attended the Five Finger Death Punch/Shinedown/Sixx A.M. concert on November 9th. The venue itself was great, there was not a lot of clutter trying to move around and get to where you were going. The only problem that we encountered was that not many off the staff members could direct us to the Meet & Greet check in. There were no signs directing us on where to go but after asking about 10 different people we did find someone who knew where we were to meet and from there were able to find the check in. We must have gotten lucky with parking because we were able to park right at the front doors. The venue is very clean and would recommend seeing a show or event here.

Luke Bryan was amazing. Literally came up to us and played guitar, his drummer handed me a drum stick used at concert and handed a beer to me. Hes a amazing talented musician.

Went there july 28th to see disturbed in concert. Was my 1st time to finally see these guys live and it was an awesome experience. I had a floor ticket and stood literally 20 ft from the stage

Seriously love this place, almost mainly for the years of memories. I strongly dislike the new stairs from the upper parking lot, which just extends the distance further than before and parking is horrendous. But they have awesome shows and events and it seems they keep bringing more and more.

The Bob Seger concert was excellent! They were very organized in getting 9,500 people in and out efficiently. My only complaint, you're not allowed to have lids, on any drinks including bottled drinks. I find that to be a bit ridiculous. People were spilling their sodas and water in cups as they were trying to get seated because the large paper cups collapse. Not one person I asked could give me the logic behind this "rule". SMH.

Jeff Dunham was amazing as expected! Security and getting through the entrance was a nightmare. Lines were far too long and security was very slow because there were too few metal detectors and people working security compared to the number of people attending the event.

Please for the love of God will you book music acts that aren't country or bands/artists who peaked in the 70s-90s! I know this is Montana and we definitely have country fans but for Pete's sake! Remember when Boyz II Men came? That was 2 decades ago!! But at least it wasn't a repeat of some dinosaur who's already come here 7 times before. Love the building revamp but it's time to revamp your line-ups as well.

I struggled with the notion of giving it 3 stars instead of 4- all based on the traffic problem of being parked at the metra. There's enough parking but getting out of the upper parking lot at a heavily attended event can be most unpleasant. It's dog eat dog to get in a line heading out it's lone exit. The other choices are to pay for parking below ( I've come to think it's money well spent) or just sit it out and don't even try exiting until the crowd thins out. Outside of the difficult exit it's a nice arena.

Good place for events in Billings, MT. Have been to many different events here including concerts and they sound great with the reverb of the dome like, atmosphere. Seen Reo Speed Wagon here, and they sounded just like there album it was amazing! Also I have been to Chevelle, Hollywood Undead, 3 Doors Down, all the concerts I have been to here sound great. Also been to the Monster Trucks here and it is fun to take the family to it does get loud so if you have young children bring something to help with the sound.

I've been going to events at the Metra for as long as I can remember. I have yet to have a bad experience. The lines are always fast. The bathrooms are clean. The staff and event staff are helpful. Plan to walk when parking.

Metra park and Yellowstone County have made upgrades to the facility, opened in the mid 70s, however after the tornado in 2010, the decionmakers missed their opportunity to make substantial improvements to allow greater use of the facility and property. Besides fresh paint and new lighting not much has changed there. A large video board hangs on the wall, never seen it used. Recent basketball tournament was held there, locker room for players hasn't changed in 30 years. It's ok because it's what we have, could be better.

Has so much potential to be a huge draw for all kinds of events but they run everything into the ground and can't pull relevant talent. Billings is a huge hub and this facility could bring huge events if it was managed better.

MetraPark or "The Metra" (as it's locally referred to) is one of the best kept event centers that I have visited. I have attended two events here so far and both of them were very organized. There were attendants at the door and throughout the event that were happy to answer questions or guide you when you get lost. Most recently, I attended the Home Improvement show at The Metra. My only complaint for that event is the fact that the previous week, some sort of livestock event was held in the same space, so during the home show there was an obnoxious amount of flies buzzing around. They were mostly just a huge annoyance.

What a great physical plant to hold Advanced hat the Metra was meant to be in Great Falls I heard it one time Great Falls sure lost out by not having this venue for sports events was down for the double A State basketball tournament last week enjoyed our visit in Billings and the great facility of the Metra will look forward to coming again since our son is just a freshman

I love almost all events at Metra Park. Their home improvement, Rv, Rodeo and concerts are fantastic. Plenty of parking in upper lot, always clean with plenty of security.

We went to the Jurassic Quest exhibit and for the amount of money we paid for the VIP package it was totally a let down they didn't even have everything the advertised online and there was at least an hour wait for every single Booth even the food

Went for monster trucks. If you have ANY respiratory issues do NOT attend this event indoors. Air quality was awful. I have no respiratory issues and I could barely breathe.

This is the main place where billings events are held so we go here. But their parking lot could use some snow plowing it is a slushy, flooded, dirty mess, the grass is always dead or there is none just 2 inch deep mud to try to get around or dusty as ever they need to haul in some gravel and be done with it! And it's not often that they book good concerts they seem to come to all the town's around Billings. Metra seems to book the dated, shoulda retired, or the umm who acts. And at the events like the monster trucks & comedy show we are trying to figure out why they have done away with Miller Lite in the beer gardens?

My first Metra concert was Metallica in 1993. The Metra is my favorite indoor concert venue. Groups who usually play much larger venues seem to enjoy playing in a smaller venue. If you get a chance attend an event there.
