Overall, we enjoyed our visit and would go back during late spring/early summer. The flowers and plants are impressive and we enjoyed playing in the zen garden. We used Google lense to identify plants we didn't know. The chickens are friendly and fun to watch too. Negative: I think the website makes this place seem more than it really is. It is a quaint stroll around a private (well loved) backyard. If you like plants and flowers you should enjoy it. Also be aware that there is no office or admissions booth. You leave the cash in a box at the entrance or find the guy that works there and he can take your card for payment.

Dan has done an; incredible job nurturing his private property into a splendid oasis of tricking water, blooming flowers, and inviting gazebos. Entry is sort of free, but the sign at the door asks for $7.50 per adult, and you'll be glad you made the contribution. And if you want to hold an event there - a wedding, a gathering of any sort, it's a fabulous location for Billings.

Absolutely gorgeous! You would not expect such a unique area to be placed right where it is. The winding paths take off to such beautiful scenes. Highly reccomened popping in and experiencing the quite majestic experience of these gardens. Very well put together to bloom beautiful into the area!

The owners have done an amazing job of beautifying their corner of the world, and are some of the nicest people I've met! My sweet wife has been asking for an arbor for months and we finally found the inspiration for ours.

We were at this garden two years ago and I have visited many more gardens since then and this is still one of my favorites! Beautifully laid out and maintained and just goes on and on. The owner is very kind too. I look forward to visiting again soon so I can see how it has matured.

Visited this beautifully manicured well planned garden as a tourist. The variety of what’s in bloom will obviously change with the time of year, but you’ll never be disappointed. There are a sprinkling of sculptures scattered throughout the property. The owners were friendly and eager to answer questions. This is worth a visit if you’re passing through town, or multiple visits if you live locally.

We had our wedding their in july and it was amazing the owners were very helpful in some of the planning of the wedding and the rehearsal along with so much help on our wedding day. The service and beauty of the venue is worth the price tag

Lovely gardens. I was a little taken aback at the entry fee until I realized that there was much more to see beyond the first space. I'd love to visit at different times during spring and summer to see the various flowers that bloom throughout the seasons. A very enjoyable and relaxing way to spend an hour or two.

We just filmed a wedding at Dan Walt and we were extremely impressed by the beautiful gardens, the location of the ceremony and reception, and we were amazed at the contributions the owners put into helping the wedding progress throughout the day. The weather brought in a deluge of rain about an hour before the outdoor ceremony. The rain stopped 30 minutes before the ceremony and the owners brought out leaf blowers and towels to dry up the chairs and pathways for the guests! Everything turned out perfect and it was an absolutely beautiful wedding and venue! Highly recommended!!

I have done ALOT of weddings and this place is one of my favorites in the entire country. Great owners. Incredibbly beautiful scenery. Adaptable venue. What ever your needs are, this place can meet them.

Dan Walt Gardens was the perfect place to be married. The owners are kind, caring, and very easy to work with. They helped planning and made sure I did not forget anything ;) I cannot recommend this place enough! It is such a beautiful gem in Billings. They support whatever your dream is for the day and help you create it. They also have chickens which roam free and follow you around. Everyone loved them at our ceremony! It is the most unique and lovely spot for a special day.

DanWalt Gardens as the most unbelievable place. The beauty of all the flowers trees shrubs and of course the chickens makes it a place where you would want to have some sort of celebration which could include weddings meetings anniversaries whatever. I would highly recommend it.

Very nice gardens small koi pond. Would be a beautiful venue for a wedding but pretty pricey to just walk through especially when most of the flora is not even labeled what it is .

Incredibly beautiful garden that changes everytime you visit! Incredibly blooms all around arranged meticulously and impeccably maintained. Every corner is worth exploring and there's cozy places to sit and take it all in. Take a moment to close your eyes and let the delectable scents intoxicate you. Don't forget to visit the roosters along the way, though I have a feeling they wouldn't let you forget them anyway (they are super friendly and inquisitive).

Every visit to the garden provides inspiration with the carefully planned flower beds and backdrop foliage. If you are lucky enough to live in Billings I highly recoomend visiting multiple times during the season to enjoy the everchanging blooms at their peak. Clint and Suri (a certified Master Gardener) have added their touch to the vision begun by Dan and Walt so many years ago. Thank you for this surprising garden gem.

Went early in the spring so only bulb flowers were blooming would love to go back and see what early summer would bring. They have a few amazing trees that I didn't know would grow on Montana. It is a small nice garden.

Wow! What an amazing experience we had for our son’s wedding. The gardens were beautiful. We had many locals that have never been there and it is true it is the best kept secret! We stayed at Clint's Airbnb which included a walk through the gardens. They have a really nice assortment of plants and it's obvious that Dan and/or Walt had an eye for design (as well as a sense of humor). Clint and his wife were super nice, and you can tell a lot of hard work and love goes into the grounds. I can only imagine how beautiful a wedding would be at their venue! Walking through the gardens was a great way to start the day as a traveler passing through Billings, it would be a great place to take any garden-loving friends or family, and if we were getting married in Billings, it would be at the top of our list as a venue!

DanWalt Gardens is the closest you will get to a set of Botanical Gardens in Montana. They have done a phenomenal job with upkeep, class, availability and accessibility for any event you may need. Providing a kitchen and a well kept indoor facility, it is ideal for any event you may have on the calendar! Lovely people to work with that make you feel apart of a family you didn't know you had!

The new owners are amazing, the newly added updates to the banquet room bring the garden to a new dimension. My daughter and I went on mother's day and had a wonderful time eating cheesecake, Dan and Walt were there, alongside the new owners, Clint and Suri.

DanWalt Gardens is a wonderful experience, because of the beautiful plants of course, and the owners, Suri and Clint. We arrived in April to view the gardens, but we did not know the gardens opened in May. The gate was open and we began to walk around viewing the beautiful trees and plants in their early spring state. One of the owners, Suri, out working in the gardens, was surprised to see us. She came to talk to us and generously gave us a tour of the gardens. Clint, the other owner, joined us and we had a wonderful chat about the gardens and fed their beautiful chickens. My son is avidly interested in plants and got to chat with Suri, a master gardener, and came away with some branches of curly willow to root. DanWalt Gardens is a charming place to visit and take a friend. They also do weddings in the gardens. I think the chicken's name was 'Cluck Norris'.

DanWalt Gardens is an instant mood-lift, any time you visit. Suri and Clint Lunde spare no effort making everything beautiful, colorful and welcoming. They are friendly, helpful, excellent hosts. As an artist attending an event by invitation with work to sell, I feel Ckint and Suri understand people's needs and do their best for all who visit DanWalt.

This place is excellent for Billings. It is a hidden gem on the South Side that i recommend everyone to check out. The owners are very kind and will give you great information on everything there. They have awesome roosters walking around too!
