I have planned events here (Ujamaafest, a Kwanzaa gathering), attended plays here when my brother was part of True Colors theater productions, taken my kids to acting class, and attended the early morning hours of an outdoor event. The venue is top notch for all, it's a classy structure with depth and size. The bathrooms are always clean, they're large, and they have no accessibility issues throughout the venue.

The Porter Sanford Arts and Community Center is a vital arts and teaching facility. There are two well appointed theaters, a main stage and a black box. There is also class room space and a dance studio. The center does not have a main theater company. It's primarily a rental house and it's not cheap. The technical staff is first rate and the equipment is modern. Some of the front of house staff are not trained as well. There is plenty of parking and a good loading dock. There are fewer restaurants nearby than one would like and while one might take a bus there, driving is the best way. Hopefully, the center will spur development.

Went to oldies show for seniors. It was fabulous!! Wish auditorium was larger to accomadate more wheelchairs & walkers. But the show was great!!!!!

Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!!! Just had the pleasure of seeing "A Soulful Christmas" and it was sooooo good!!! Brilliant cast and performances, polished and spectacular!!! It is definitely a "must see," if you need some Christmas Spirit!! So many "stand out" performances (each and every one), I can't pinpoint a particular one for you to look forward to in the production!!! The caliber of talent and excellence is second to none!! You don't have to take my word for it....just go see it for yourself!! Oh yes, you're welcome...you can thank me later!!! It's a great venue that can hold up to 500 people. The shows here are performing arts such as christmas, comedy, drama and dance. There are restrooms available for male and female. There is a will call office as well as small concession stand. The sound and lighting are terrific. The stage is very large as well. Shows are held in the morning, afternoon and late evening. The parking is free but the lot in not very big so come early to get parking. This a wonderful local performing arts venue.

The building is beautiful inside and out! The rest rooms are clean. There is plenty parking for the disabled and a huge parking area for everyone. I only wish there was more advertising concerning this place. It would be great for any performance or celebration. It’s large enough to have more than one event at a time. MORE ADVERTISEMENT PLEASE! Let people know that you’re there!

This is a great theater. I thought that there would be an issue during the play "The Shell of a Man", that was great with a rehearsal directly next door. There was no problems. The set up was good and all of the equipment was worked perfectly.

They have great plays at this center. The only issue (which is very important to me) is the lack of adequate handicapped parking. There are alot of spaces, but not sufficient enough for a place that has a high number of seniors and disabled people. Other than that, this is a great place with great programs.

I've seen three plays here and each was very entertaining. The venue is nice and each time I go I have a great time. The theater is very nice and staff professional. I enjoy coming here and will continue to support.

Enjoyed the play and the attentive staff. A person in my group became ill and had to leave early. Staff ensured my guest and the person who accompanied her did not miss the play by providing complimentary tickets to attend at a later date. Will definitely be at the top of my list if favorite places.

They have lots of parking, and handicapped access to the building. There are a multiple areas to hold a few events . They even rent the open area. Bathrooms need more attention when there are multiple things going on, but the experience overall was good.

Great time at Christmas holiday gala. Everyone was nicely dressed. MC was great & awesome DJ. Band struggled a bit. Old school party atmosphere. Hubby, me & some friends thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I always enjoy going there to attend the annual Atlanta Black Theater Festival! The shows and the talent is amazing and authentic! I used to volunteer because I wanted to be around the energy, now that I have other obligations, I try to come back every year to see at least one performance. Toni gives her heart and soul to this cause...BRAVO!

We took our 2 kids and it was wonderful. The staff was professional and everyone was smiling--happy that we visited. I must admit I was a bit leery on ticket purchase because I had to purchase over the fone no internet ticketing and had to wait for a call back for confirmation. BUT all went well. Tonight we seen the Balletic-Urban Nutcracker and it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! To see young girls and boys dance and sing and bask in their talents was priceless. My husband enjoyed it so much that we'll definitely donate to this facility to do our part in keeping this facility alive.

Saw the play "The Negroes Are Congregating". This was one of the brst written, nest acted pieces of art I have ever witnessed. It was soooooo good, deep, moving, educational, funny, well performed. Everything about it was great. The Porter Sanford center is a perfect venue for art. Acoustics are good, seating is comfortable, restrooms are large and clean and there is PLENTY of Free, YES Free parking. They have a large and a small theater, but it doesn't matter which one you are in, you will enjoy yourself immensely.

The front area of this place is wonderful. My mother and father had there 40th wedding anniversary at this facility and it was perfect for the occasion. The staff and floor managers were helpful and accommodated our guest all night. Thanks for the experience!

Attended Porter Sanford for a play. This is not my first time attending this venue. I am not sure this is their regular practice but they only allow you to enter thirty minutes or less before the show starts. I wish you can enter earlier if you arrive earlier. The seating I wish was more like a stadium seating setup or more elevated seats. Depending on who is sitting in front of you.

I'm so proud of DeKalb county for having a venue of this calibre dedicated to the Arts. I've performed here with my Improv group, and I hosted the finals of the inaugural Peachtree Comedy Festival. Accessible by public transportation, ample parking and the building itself s modern and well equipped. Kudos PS III

Stepp Stewart is one of the greats and he and Commissioner Larry Johnson gave south Dekalb a place to goody events that is much needed. But Stepp did rigours Motown musical to the 9s. The performers were fantastic as he is giving local talent an opportunity to shineat gimme before they move on to the evenbigger screen. Give a big shout out to Stepp Stewart for making south Dekalb great AGAIN! Since I've been here Since the Rev King made it possible for me to attend Decatur High school, i was here when the black people made the South Dekalb mall and the whole Candler Rd a retail giant. The Southern White group is trying it's hardest to run us out but like Stepp said we will bring in the eateries and i say the other retailers and entertainers. Thanks Commissioner Larry Johnson for your vision and will to hang in they through adversity for US!

I've enjoyed several shows here and most of all for me was the seating is excellent. Compared to Fox downtown Atlanta where I thought I'd die before I left the show my legs were so crushed at the Fox.
