Rodney McClain was the officiant at our wedding in August 2022, and we cannot begin to express how wonderful of an experience it was. We didn't have a pastor or relative that we wanted to officiate, so we were nervous about finding someone that could still make the ceremony feel personal and fit us. Our wedding planner specifically recommended Rodney for us, and we could immediately tell why. We had a call with him and got breakfast one day while we were in town that really helped us get to know one another. Love & Wisdom also provides extensive questionnaires that Rodney used to make the ceremony script very personalized to us. He also sent us a Google doc of the script that we could edit as much as we wanted with tons of vow, quote, and special element ideas which made the whole process so easy! He hung out with our families and wedding party after the rehearsal and during cocktail hour and was a huge hit with everyone! Our families weren't sure about the idea of a "stranger" being our officiant, but they were so blown away by Rodney and couldn't have been happier.

I waited a while to write this review (married in October 2022) because I wanted to have enough time to really express how I feel about working with Sara Judy from Love and Wisdom. I'm not even kidding you when I say that not only me and my partner, but multiple people from our wedding's favorite part of the entire wedding was the ceremony. It was the most special, connected, and filled with love experience we have ever had. Sara Judy and my partner and I connected from the very 1st phone call. She is an extremely compassionate and deeply spiritual and a full of love type of person. I was very surprised at how much work she put into our ceremony over the four months before the ceremony began. Sara was open minded and began creating our ceremony based on our interests, love, and history. We were able to add in ideas and items as we wished, and the ceremony ended up flowing unbelievably. At one point during the ceremony, I looked out amongst the crowd and everyone was either smiling or crying or both. It was the most beautiful moment of my entire life. Before we met with Sara, I thought maybe their price was a bit steep, but I would've paid double that price to have had this experience again. Highly recommend this company as they are extremely attentive, intentional, and will give you exactly what you were looking for plus more. Sara Judy, thank you for helping create and being a part of (so far) the best day of our lives.

Love and Wisdom was incredibly easy to work with and always timely in responding to Alex and I. We didn't choose an officiant until late in our planning process, and Mikey and the Love and Wisdom team delivered a meaningful draft ceremony in a matter of weeks. And, the ceremony was perfect - just the right amounts of humor and tradition while feeling modern and light. I would highly recommend Mikey, and the Love and Wisdom Team!

Officiant Sara Judy of Love & Wisdom is quite simply amazing! The entire process from start to finish was so easy and the ceremony was truly a reflection of my daughter and her husband. It was important for them that God be mentioned, but equally important that no guest feel uncomfortable or left out. Sara Judy blended their desires perfectly. Her voice is so charismatic and genuine and she got to know the couple through questions and conversations, so much so that several guests assumed she must be an old family friend. Her professionalism and genuine kindness is a wonderful combination and we cannot imagine the day without her!

My husband and I are not residents of Asheville so we weren’t really sure where to look for an officiant and reached out to a few different places but we were recommended by our wedding planner to look into Love & Wisdom. We are really glad we did because we had no idea what the process was going to be like, what we needed to do and we were looking for guidance as well as a someone that would capture exactly what we wanted in a ceremony. We didn’t want it to be very religious, serious or funny we wanted a good balance and a short and sweet ceremony. We answered some questions and then very quickly they matched us with Stacey Sparks. She was very helpful and understanding through the entire process. Also a huge thing was being available as a vendor and as soon as we were in touch, we had no issue hearing back from Stacey very quickly and for whatever we needed. She did a great job at the wedding, it was exactly everything we planned for. I also appreciated her connecting with us and our families and being an enjoyable guest to have.

If you’re looking for an officiant- Rodney McClain is THE guy to have! He’s AMAZING- personable, very friendly and absolutely hilarious. His communication is fast, thorough and precise. He is excellent in assisting with vows and offers tons of examples and helps jazzing it up! He even asked about the attire which I thought was cool- and he showed up in the coolest kilt! Getting an officiant for a destination wedding is hard. You don’t want to let some stranger talk about their opinion of you and your significant other’s love without having an idea of what they are going to say. But you also still want what is said to feel special not completely scripted. Rodney at Love and Wisdom was able to walk this line by leading a meaningful ceremony that stayed within the boundaries of what we wanted. The process started with getting a questionnaire, which has a section the couple does together as well as a private section done alone by each individual. After sending in the questionnaire, we were assigned Rodney and he sent us a script, in which we could edit or make comments on. Once we made our edits, we scheduled a phone call to discuss the ceremony and the script. Rodney was patient, listened to our ideas, and was very engaged during this conservation. After this phone call, we were sent a finalized script to include very well written and thoughtful statements about each of us that Rodney had synthesized from our individual statements from the questionnaire. The day of the ceremony Rodney showed up early and offered to help with simple things like tying ties or adjusting positions for the ceremony. Once the ceremony started, Rodney delivered the script we had agreed upon but in such a well spoken way that it felt just as meaningful as if we had never heard it. Rodney was great at reading the crowd and making quick adjustments on the fly. It felt as if he had known us and our guests for a very long time. We would highly recommend Love and Wisdom as well as Rodney for anyone looking for officiant in the Asheville area.

We hired Rodney McClain as our officiant through Love & Wisdom for our October wedding in Highlands, NC and had such an awesome experience working with them! These guys are top notch wedding professionals - they were very organized and responsive. Working with Rodney was so fun and even educational! He tailored our ceremony to exactly what we wanted AND had some awesome ideas along the way. We wanted a Celtic inspired ceremony and Rodney wore a kilt and sword when he married us - our guests LOVED that! On the day of, Rodney was punctual, eloquent, engaging and fun. So incredibly happy we found Love & Wisdom for our officiating services. We initially planned to have a friend officiate our wedding but it fell through a few months before our big day. I took to The Knot in search of an officiant and came across Love & Wisdom. I reached out and from the very beginning was so impressed with their services. It was a little nerve-racking to go with a complete stranger for something that was such a big part of the wedding but our officiant, Rodney, absolutely killed it. Our guests spoke such high praises and said it was one of the best ceremonies they've ever witnessed. Rodney was so easy to work with throughout the whole process and so very helpful. He was actually booked for another wedding on the night of our rehearsal and Love & Wisdom made every effort to find a replacement for Friday's rehearsal so we could make it all work out. Love & Wisdom was so easy to work with. Originally we had planned on having a close family friend perform our ceremony. A couple of months prior to our wedding, our family friend changed their mind and we were left scrambling. Thank God for Rodney and the Love & Wisdom team. We were able to meet Rodney in person where he asked a few questions and the conversation flowed. He did an absolute incredible job and we now consider him a friend. He added just enough humor to get our crowd laughing but also enough serious elements for the perfect balance. It was a beautiful ceremony and we can’t recommend Rodney and Love & Wisdom enough.

Love & Wisdom Inc. was INCREDIBLE to have involved on our rehearsal and wedding day. We knew we wanted a non-traditional, non-religious ceremony - so we were a little apprehensive going into finding an officiant that fit our needs. Love & Wisdom didn't skip a beat - we filled out our survey and were matched with Mikey Minor. My husband and I cannot stop gushing about how much we loved having Mikey be a part of our big day. Not only was he super flexible and worked with our needs to create a personalized ceremony, but he also proof-read our vows and offered feedback. From quick communication, positive & constructive feedback when needed, and just Mikey's humorous/easy-going personality at the Rehearsal and Ceremony - it's certainly something that we will look back on fondly when we remember our wedding day.

My husband and I are a very low-key couple, who wanted a non-traditional wedding ceremony, and Rodney from Love & Wisdom was even better than we could have ever hoped for! Rodney was kind, punctual, and flexible with us as we constructed our “vision” for the wedding, and was full of great ideas for ways to make our ceremony special and unique. We are pretty shy about public displays of affection, and Rodney took it all in stride, and built a ceremony plan around us, with minimal showmanship. Family and friends approached us afterward and remarked at how beautiful the ceremony was! Also, if you choose Love & Wisdom, take advantage of their additional services! We took all of the “marriage counseling” courses ahead of time, and found that each of them sparked a crucial conversation that brought us closer together. We had the pleasure of having Rob Morris as our officiant, and it was easily one of our best decisions. Rob was so thoughtful, personable, and funny! We're very light-hearted people, and we really connected with him, which is huge! Rob really took the time to get to know us and used what he learned in our ceremony. We received so many compliments on our ceremony and on how great he was. The Monday after the wedding, Rob emailed us to let us know he mailed in our marriage license and wished us congratulations. We are so grateful we were able to celebrate our love with him.

Due to us being from out of town (Florida and London) we used Skype to meet Philip first. From that point, we both knew we had found our officiant. The communication was exceptional and Philip was professional throughout, allowing us freedom with our vows but also giving us ideas we might want to included and making great suggestions to changes. The best part for us was that he really GOT what we wanted to convey and really understood our vibe, and the first draft of our ceremony was spot on for our personalities and our love. Asheville Marriages was the perfect way to legally get married! We first talked with Philip Lingle after we filled out a questionnaire so he could direct us to the most fitting officiant. Michael DeSerio was the man for the job. We wanted an uplifting, slightly humorous, and personalized ceremony and we got just that! We also added in a beer blending ceremony instead of a candle lighting ceremony or sand blending ceremony. Our guests got a huge kick out of that! Philip was amazing!! My husband and I did the Marriage Enrichment Program, which I would highly recommend. The program not only prompted really important discussions for my husband and I to have, but also allowed Philip get to know us before the wedding. He nailed the ceremony- it was the perfect combination of the traditions that we wanted to incorporate and the customizations that made the ceremony "ours". Initially, we didn't really know what we wanted in a ceremony and Philip helped guide us and provided examples of ideas we could use.
