Courtney was exceptional to work with. As any engagement year goes, I was incredibly busy and managing to execute on my dream wedding was not something I could do alone. We were doing a destination wedding to Santa Fe, NM from Austin, TX and planning a wedding afar seemed daunting. After interviewing several options, Courtney was the clear winner. She was prompt, had good follow up, and was detail oriented right off the bat. She's easy to work with and has a great personality. She did a great job holding us accountable for tasks we needed to complete and keeping us on track with all the milestones to planning our wedding. We were super comfortable asking questions and really leaned on her expertise when selecting vendors. Contracts, payments, etc were all easy to manage with her spreadsheets too. Wedding day was absolutely perfect. Courtney did a good job preparing us prior and was so wonderful to bring us water throughout the night to make sure we were hydrated! She coordinated with every vendor making things run smoothly before and during the wedding. Everything was well executed and we had a blast. Highly recommend working with her and the La Luz team!

Shelby and the La Luz Weddings and Events crew were wonderful to work with and did a wonderful job planning and executing our wedding. We met with Shelby a hand full of times but she was so organized and detailed in her approach it took away so much of the stress when planning the wedding. The level of communication was perfect and Shelby kept track of what and when we needed to get certain things done so that everything got done in time and was always willing to take on more if we requested it. The day of the wedding, she ensured everything ran smoothly, which allowed us to relax and have fun! It was the perfect wedding experience. There are too many qualities to bring up here but if you're looking for a stellar wedding or event (Shelby helped us plan an after party as well the day after our wedding) planner, we highly recommend Shelby and the group at La Luz Weddings and Events.

I hired Shelby as a month of planner for my wedding in Ribera, NM at Blame Her Ranch. From the very start Shelby was responsive, attentive and provided us with all the documentation needed to help keep track our vendors and budget. A month before our wedding, she took over communication with all of our vendors. It was such a big help since we were road tripping to our wedding destination and wouldn't be able to wrap things up ourselves. Shelby and her assistant were there for the rehearsal dinner and stayed overnight with us on the ranch which was great just in case anything came up! On the wedding day Shelby was an absolute pro!!! She quickly reorganized the ceremony and some reception details when we got completely rained out from monsoon like rain. She knew all the right questions to ask and was quick on her feet to run decisions by me and the Groom. Without Shelby's help and coordination I don't think our wedding would have ran as smooth as it did. She is amazing and we are so happy we hired her!! I would 100% recommend La Luz Wedding Events to other Brides or anyone looking for event coordination.

Having Shelby as our wedding planner and day-of coordinator was awesome -- we felt so lucky to have her. Courtney (who helped us while she could before maternity leave) recommended her, and we're grateful! I can't say how often a wedding-related concern would occur to somebody in the family, but I can say that every time, I got to say, "we talked about that with Shelby" or "Shelby's got it, don't worry." She was totally on top of everything, and she made it clear to us what we needed to do (which we needed because we were not on top of it). Her vendor recommendations were fabulous, as was her team. Day-of, everything was just handled. We had no worries because we knew Shelby was there.

If I could give La Luz Weddings and Events more than five stars, I’d do it in a heartbeat. Going into planning for our one-year anniversary celebration, I was confident that we’d be able to figure out all of the details on our own—let’s just say that our confidence disappeared a few months into planning. Working full time while trying to plan a major event is STRESSFUL. We hired La Luz for month-of coordination and it was the best decision that we made and COMPLETELY worth the investment. From start to finish, Shelby took so much weight off of our shoulders and made the month-of much less stressful. Not only that, but on the day-of, the La Luz team helped set up, kept the event run on track, coordinated with vendors, cleaned up, and was there for any additional support we needed. We are so grateful for La Luz Weddings and Events! If you’re on the fence and maybe don’t think hiring a coordinator is worth it, take it from me—it is 100% worth it.

Shelby and Virginia are awesome! My husband and I were really happy with our decision to book day of coordination for our wedding. On the day of, Virginia checked in often and helped coordinate all of the behind the scenes task to make our day run as smooth as possible. At one point, one of my bridesmaids dressed ripped and Virginia had a sowing kit to fix it. I highly recommend La Luz wedding services!

Courtney was everything we could have asked for in a wedding planner AND MORE! I simply do not have enough great things to say - she was absolutely spectacular. 1) Courtney strikes the perfect balance of being extremely organized and on top of things while being equally laid back, easy-going, and chill. I was never stressed that something would fall through the cracks. At the same time, I never felt that Courtney was overwhelming me with requests and reminders. I cannot emphasize enough how crucial this balance is. Wedding planning is insanely taxing mentally and emotionally, with or without a wedding planner, and having someone that keeps you both calm and on track - both for the months leading up to the wedding and the day of - is truly invaluable. 2) Courtney was super helpful with 'stakeholder management'. There was often tension between the wedding couple, our parents, and/or vendors, and Courtney was about to help intermediate and/or intervene, and she ensured everything went smoothly, according to how we (bride & groom) wanted. And she did so in a way that didn't cause any drama or conflict between wedding couple and our parents (or vendors). This is another very underrated skill. 3) Courtney is super experienced and very well-regarded in the ABQ wedding community. This proved very useful. A lot of the vendors I interacted with were super happy to learn we had Courtney as a wedding planner. They were pumped because a) they had worked with her before, which made logistics very easy, and b) they liked her a lot! 4) Courtney was exceptionally responsive. I sent literally hundreds of e-mails & texts to Courtney over a 9-month period, and I honestly can't remember a time where it took her more than an hour to respond. She was unbelievably dedicated to our wedding and could not have been more helpful. The event was executed flawlessly, and a ton of credit goes to Courtney. It was an absolute pleasure working with Courtney. We interviewed many wedding planners and I can confidently say that we unequivocally made the right decision. I cannot recommend her enough!! -Alex

My husband and I had a little bit of a vision but I'm not great in the decor department and she made our wedding a beautiful occasion. She was there for as much or as little as we needed depending on the subject (catering, decor, music, etc) but had great vendor recommendations and was so so so helpful the day of and leading up to it! And provided the inspo for our paper airplane exit :) Couldn't thank her and her team more!

My name is Brad and I am the owner of Southwest Wedding Films and though I have not been a client, I have had the privilege of working with the La Luz Team on numerous, beautiful and remarkable weddings and I feel like you should have a wedding pro review too. Here is the difference that I think matters and deserves 5 stars when reviewing this team. It's the faces of the couples we film with La Luz vs when it’s DIY or someone in charge of your wedding (as well as 3-6 other events simultaneously happening onsite). I am serious, you can see it in the faces of all involved. There is so much happening on a wedding day, so many details you have dreamed about and without the La Luz team, you and your family are ultimately responsible for everything. I will be blunt & honest, that level of responsibility and stress can not be covered up by makeup. Ok, now when La Luz is there-> we see beautiful, rested, relaxed faces enjoying the most important thing in life, relationships and each other with laughing, hugging and sharing precious moments. It makes a huge difference. They are expert communicators. As a creative, I secretly rely on their attention to detail in timelines, decor inspirations and I appreciate when they tell us what YOU ALL NEED! I also notice little things....they are paying attention to what is going on all day and they are not on their phones scrolling the latest insta tik tok craze. I really appreciate that. They are present! Seriously, one second they are on one side of the reception tending to something and 5 minutes later I look up and they are on the other side tending to something else and then communicating to us that toasts are coming up in 10 minutes so we have audio, lighting and cameras ready to film. They were in a zone of 'being present' all day for you and for us! They are also the only planners that have written a thank you note to all the wedding pros after an event was finished for all their hard work. They really care about everyone involved. Don't plan your dream wedding without them. A worthy investment.

She was always available for questions and advice and guidance and took care of all the research and contacts with all of the vendors. She even worked closely with myself and the groom's mother on many of the details. The day of the wedding was a dream!. She and her team handled everything! Once the debris settled, they moved our outdoor cocktail hour into an indoor space with incredible speed. When the guests arrived, nobody could even tell that the indoor space was the backup plan. From the planning process to the day-of coordination, La Luz Weddings and Events made our event feel so much easier. It was a grand success! Five out of five stars for sure!

Courtney was truly a godsend! I was hesitent to hire a wedding planner due to the cost and with expenditures adding up very quickly. A wedding planner felt like a luxury and not a necessity. I can wholeheartedly say that hiring Courtney was the single best decision we made for our wedding. I cannot recommend Shelby and the La Luz team enough. I was hesitant to get a wedding coordinator thinking that I would not need one, but I am so so so glad that I decided to. It was the best money we spent. Planning a wedding during 2020 was a total nightmare, but Shelby handled all the constant change and chaos with such ease and poise. My original venue canceled on me less than two months to go until my wedding day, and Shelby helped replan the whole day flawlessly. She was not only helping me stay organized, but served as my therapist at points, helping to reassure me all the way through. She provided checklists, timelines, and other organizational tools to help us stay on track and organized for the day - and we only booked her for day of coordination! The wedding itself could not have been more perfect. My family and myself got to focus on enjoying the day as Shelby and her team handled everything. They set up both the ceremony and reception venues, as well as tore down all the decor. She handled all vendor communication that day, and made sure everything ran smoothly. She helped us keep to the timeline of the night. She made sure we were fed immediately, that we always had a drink in our hands, and that we were having fun. I did not worry about a thing the whole night, and it was fabulous!! I really cannot recommend Shelby and the La Luz team enough. She is so kind, smart, organized, professional, and fun to work with!
