We just moved to the area and are so grateful to have found Jim Chambers as our reliable local electrician! What we like most about Jim: the excellent quality of his work, ease of communication, efficiency, and the best prices around. Quality - So far Jim has installed a receptacle in our garage and a bathroom exhaust fan. Both required some creative wiring. Both installs work perfectly and look great. Communication - Jim is refreshingly transparent and straightforward. We felt right away that we could trust him. We love that he responds quickly to texts, which is so much better than having to leave a voicemail at some large storefront and wait for a response (as is often the case with other service providers). We had initially contacted several highly rated electricians and Jim was the quickest to respond by far. Since Jim works seven days a week, he was able to come by right away. Efficiency - Jim installed a receptacle in our garage for our EV in one afternoon. When that was a success we immediately re-hired him to install a bathroom exhaust fan two days later, which only took two hours. Also, Jim gave us great advice on where each installation should be located - for example, we were able to avoid having to do an invasive and expensive re-tiling project by simply installing the exhaust fan into the ceiling instead. Price - We did a lot of research when we were looking for an electrician. Jim not only offered the best estimate (by far), but also his final price ended up being on the lower end of the price range he had originally estimated. We appreciated that because estimates are often low-balled. As first-time homeowners, it's such a relief to know that we've found Jim, our reliable local electrician, that we can call anytime.

Our house needed an electrical panel replacement, considering that it was more than 30 years old. Jim took the entire day to get the job done, and it was phenomenal. I needed an electrician and called Jim. He helped us out by installing and outlet for a sump pump, an additional outlet in a room that didn’t have one, and an outdoor garage light. He was very communicative throughout the process, providing advice on what items to buy. Jim even helped me set up the generator and gave instructions on what to do if we lose power. That was huge to me. Some contractors will let you spend money on needless additions or adjustments just to get a bigger pay day. Jim Chambers was keen on hearing what my desired GOAL was but steered me away from installing a needless amount of extra work. I knew that I needed outdoor outlets but in my ignorance about electrical work I was over estimating what I really needed. Jim didn't allow me to make those errors. I'm grateful that Jim listened, recommended, collaborated and helped me to make the best choices. As Jim worked he carefully guided his team and was very meticulous about every detail of the work ESPECIALLY the way things were done where the customer may not see it. As he worked I heard him give exacting guidance about the proper screws, where insulation should be placed, how wires should be attached, spliced etc. As a customer this made me rest easier. Jim is the kind of craftsmen who will do things the right way and the best way -because his name is on it. Some might say, "The customer will never know..." And I could easily picture Jim Chambers saying, "Yeah, but I WILL KNOW it wasn't done right and I'll lose sleep tonight thinking about the mediocre work." Jim was the electrician hired by the seller's agent to do work on our house before closing (in late 2020). We were really happy with the work he did, and he was the first person we thought to call two years later, when we needed some electrical work in our bathroom (new receptacle and installation of a bathroom fan). We had Chamber's Electric replace an old breaker. Some things you can expect if you hire Jim and his son: high quality work, transparent and fair pricing, and affable personality. Things you should not expect from Jim: corner cutting at the expense of the safety of your household and BS about prices. Jim is allergic to doing things incorrectly. Although we hired them originally for a breaker replacement, they ended up helping us with an assortment of things including outlets and appliance installations. Jim and his son Michael did a fantastic job for me. I lost power to a circuit 2 weeks ago. I called in another electrician who couldn’t figure out the problem. Jim came in and worked as an efficient detective to find out where the short was occurring. He truly is a master of his trade. The problem was hidden in a wall and Jim was able to discover it with minimal cutting. He jokes that he does not have X-ray vision but I swear that he does. I wish I had known about him 2 weeks ago. Jim did a great job installing new power outlets in our basement for our stationary bike and treadmill. The install looks clean and it works! He even fixed our broken bedroom light/fan switch which had been broken for two years (we had given up on it). His fee was reasonable and he completed the work in a timely fashion. Aug 2022 Had Chambers Electric over to fix a circuit breaker that was not working properly. After opening up the panel, he realized the panel had been damaged by water going back to Hurricane Sandy. The outside "mast" was cracked, and water was dripping in over 10 yrs. It was slowly rusting out the panel and breakers. As a result, the breakers could not go back to the on position due to oxidation. He gave me a fair and honest price to change out the panel. Dont waste your time haggling for a price, his prices are GOOD. His work is professional and clean. He does not cut corners, very detailed because he's a US marine (veteran). You want an electrician that is OCD. I trust him with his work. Over the years, he has worked on my rentals and personal home, I totally recommend him.

I reached out to Jim on a holiday weekend for a light switch issue and he was at my door in 30 minutes, ready to troubleshoot. A light switch that stopped working turned out to be a bigger issue and Jim was able to identify the problems timely and efficiently. He walked through everything very meticulously and had it back up and running quickly. He even replaced out old light bulbs with new LED ones and offered up suggestions with smart switches. After years of looking for a quality electrician I finally found one in Jim Chambers. Jim is thorough, careful and takes pride in his work. One of the things Jim did was rewire my chandelier. And he did it just beautifully. He supplied all the materials and parts where previous electricians told me to either get the parts myself or they wanted just to take down the chandelier and send me to a lighting store for the repair. Jim did other repair work and trouble shooting as well. I don't usually recommend contractors very often, but in good conscience I recommend Jim Chambers. He's really that good an electrician.

I called Chambers Electric to inspect a loud rattling coming from my AC condenser. Jim came onsite the same day and was able to troubleshoot immediately. The AC contactor was fried and needed to be replaced. Once ordered, Jim came back and replaced the contactor but it was still chattering once AC was turned on. Jim was determined to find the source of the issue and checked all components of the AC unit and Nest thermostat; the thermostat was causing the problem. Jim installed the old thermostat and everything begin working properly. Jim is an absolute professional and is extremely knowledgeable. He takes pride in his work and is open and honest. Going forward, Jim at Chambers Electric is my guy for any and all electrical needs.
