I am so so thankful for this school!!!! ONE AND DONE!!!! Meaning I took my CDL exam one time and PASSED. I could not have done it without the wonderful help of the people who work there. Ms. Debbie was an angel sent from God who literally made sure I could stay and not go hungry. I will truly always wish her and her family all the blessings in the world because her kindness was truly a blessing for me. The instructors Eugene, Gram, Bill, Tony, Doug, and Chris are all so amazing and cool and very informative. They gave each of us hands on Individual attention and instruction to whatever problems we were having. It didn’t matter if some of us needed extra help every single time we climbed into that truck they never lost their patience, they always had a helpful and positive attitude. They could explain the same thing 20 times and always made it feel like it was the first time they were telling it to us. I am so so grateful. So grateful. And now look, I’m a one and done!!!!!!
My only word of caution to the newbie’s is MAKE SURE YOU SHOW UP EVERY SINGLE DAY!! Even if you feel you got something down, keep coming to practice because the next day you might have trouble and realize that you didn’t have it down. If you listen to the instructors, keep coming to school, and practice practice practice YOU WILL PASS!! Thank you so much MTC for changing my life!!!!🥳

MTC really turn out to be a good experience for me. The teaching made me believe. Especially when I went to State. Everything everyone sowed into me played a big part! Thanks Mrs. Ronnie, Mr. Ed, Mr. Bob, Mr. J the Man that gave me a plan!! And Mr. Kirk.
One and Done!! Hammer down I’m Gone!!

This school has great trainers and you’ll learn everything you need to know about trucking very fast. Also, they get you a test date within a week of you completing everything you need to be cleared on at the school. Overall, I would say I had a great experience at this school, met a bunch of good people and would definitely recommend this school to anybody that wants the best training to become a trucker.

MTC was a great choice for CDL training and I would highly recommend for anyone wanting to get into trucking. The instructors are excellent and always willing to assist. Doug was a great BTW instructor being a manual student!
johnathon shelden
I completed my training within 3 weeks and was able to test within a week of course work completion. The instructors and staff were very professional and competent. I can say I am pleased with the results, “one and done”!!! Also, the school is very veteran friendly!!! ⛩⛩⛩

Officially a Class A Driver. MTC is definitely the school to go to, the instructors wants you to succeed as long as you want to succeed. Everyone was definitely helpful in helping you get the job done, so glad I chose MTC to assist me with getting my license.

I arrived and completed my requirements in 2018 and received my CDL one n done all thanks too Mr Kirk a living legend in my book and of course the entire staff n owner of MTC I look at as my family . They helped me and I made good use of the tools and facilities they had . Coming all the way from Texas to Missouri I got it were I fit in and made it work. I definitely am sending some new students there way hopefully they will have the success I did to start a great career. THANKS MTC!

I was there at night shift all of instructors are awesome Bill and his team are professional. When I came here never thought I’m gonna pass. MTC will boost your confidence with experience instructor. Thanks MTC

MTC is the trucking school you want, just make sure you get on day shift. The instructors on day shift have the Midas touch as long you work for it. Randy makes sure your classroom knowledge is on point, and is always there for you if you have questions, Mr. Ed gets you ready for the industry by making sure you have the right mindset( you gotta follow instruction killah) then her majesty Mrs. Ronnie the Queen of the pre trip will literally make you see the pretrip and brake test every time you close your eyes. Then you have Jerry the Drill Sergeant of the yard this guy literally forces you to Keep it simple so that you so that you don’t drive yourself crazy and he sees everything so don’t be hovering around alley dock. Then you have you have Kirk and Jahmel, these seasoned road warriors will have you ready for the road test in record time, Every instructor I have mentioned has a vast wealth of knowledge that if tapped into by students will have you ready for anything you’ll encounter, and they all tell you to reach out if you have any questions, and they mean it. I think MTC hazelwood should be everyone’s stop for trucking instruction.

I am very glad I choose this school it gave me all the skills I needed to pass state. Word of advise go into this with a positive attitude and try and learn as much as you can stay focused and listen to the instructors, it may seem repetitive but that’s the key. Staff is very knowledgeable , some of them have weird sense of humor but there still good people. Me and my wife pass state One and Done. Thanks to all the help from everyone
Patrick Devoil
It was great school. Nobody’s perfect, the instructors might seem a little rough on you at times but they’re just doing what needs to be done to get you your license, don’t take it personal. Listen, follow instructions and you’ll have your license in 3-4 weeks guaranteed. Thnx mtc day shift

Amazing school I enjoyed every step of training. Mrs. Ronnie the lady of the instructors you are incredible, thanks so much. Joe, Ed, Jerry, Kirk, Jim and my favorite Mr. Bob thank you so much for all of your help this school wouldn’t be as great without you.
Valuable Creationz
Come READY to train, be focused, and be resilient! All of the instructors are very supportive and will help every step of the way! I almost quit several times being over whelmed with so much, and would have regretted it! 160 hours of training can be a bit tough but it's worth every second of it! I had no experience in trucking never even seen the inside of a cab before and 4 weeks later I was able to pass and get my CDL's on the 1st try! Don't GIVE UP its worth it!!!! Shout out to all who tolerated my fussing and cussing lbvs!
Thank you Mr. Joe Mrs. Debbie Mrs. Ronnie, Mr. Ed, Mr Leroy,
Mr Kirk, Mr Bob, Mr. Jim, last but not least my man Mr Jerry!

Attended in 2018 and knew I would pass but to see folks who never been around trucks in their life learn how to operate big rigs was amazing , MTC will get you your CDL
Korron Smith
Really great school to learn everything you need to know to get your license. I would advice anyone who wants to get in school for their CDL to attend MTC.

MTC trucking school is where you want to go. If you come in with the mind set of completing and accomplishing your goal, the tools are there.,. By tools, I mean the instructors starting with Randy, week 1 he will set you up to learn all your essentials... When you get on the range, Mr. Ed will set the mood for you to became a winner, emulate that attitude and it's a go. Ms. Ronnie will definitely give you the 1 on 1 time you need if needed to pass what's needed to pass; Pre Trip Queen!!! When it comes to Alley Dock, listen to what Lamont has to say, he won't steer you wrong... Dustin and Jerry got yo back on any maneuver you want help on, allow their stern teachings to push you in that direction you looking at. Last but not least, the two big dogs that take you over the road to enter act with the real world while driving, are there for you to be your best, take all the heat and learn from it, lastly, they all about safety, you being safe at all times... Big shout out MTC, salute!!! Stay focused, stay encouraged, stay safe and whoever you are, 👍🏿 you got this...

MTC i think is the best CDL training school in the Country. Excellent instructors who know what they are doing and very good administration structure. They gave me all the tools I needed to learn how to operate Tractor Trailers and helped get my CDL in the shortest time possible. Anyone trying get Commercial License should definitely try MTC.
Johnathan King
Great trucking school with great teachers and faculty. I was able to learn at my own pace and never felt rushed. They were always there to help and give great tips. There were also a lot of times where I needed to go somewhere and they would get me an Uber free of charge. Overall it was just a great experience and I'm very happy that I went here to learn how to drive a truck and start my career as a trucker. I highly recommend this place
William Brewer
Nice trucks and good facilities. They participate in the VRRAP program for veterans. Overall a fairly good school. I would recommend them.
Most instructors were fairly professional.
Timothy DAVIS
Best truck driving school ever, Joe is the best very helpful. if they don't do nothing they're gonna teach you how to drive a truck!!!!
Cleodis Ingram Jr
The instructors at MTC were awsome, Joe, Randy, Bill, Eugene, and Dane are all very knowledgeable and hands on with students. But what impressed me the most is the support and belief they have in every student. Best time of my life at MTC.
Stanley Simon
I want to thank the entire team for the guidance towards the success of my CDL , because of the push I received I was a “one and done student” mean I took the state exam once and passed. Thanks everyone
Jeremy Shaw
MTC was a good school for CDL training. I appreciated the extra help received from the trainers. Mr. Ed, Mr. Jerry and Joe were always there to help with questions. MTC is a good school, but it's what you make it. If you put forth the effort you will prevail, if not then it will be harder to make it through.
Wade Tyler & Mary Storer
Good instructors. I enjoyed my training. I got my CDL.

I went into this school with no knowledge of how to operate a tractor trailer. I was nervous going into this but came out much more confident thanks to my instructors and their great advice and knowledge on maneuvers and identifying the parts of the truck for my pretrip.

If you approach this program with prior transport experience and preconceived notions of what the logistics industry is or have any notion that you’re going to skate by, prepare to be quickly humbled. This is not a bare minimum cdl program, it is structured to produce well rounded professional drivers. Joe (the director) and the “junior trainers” Tim, James, Bill & Ray do a great job of treating students as equals. The more seasoned/veteran trainers Jerry, Ed, Kurt & Bob tend to take a more old school approach of unconditional honesty and tough love. When I graduated, I went home that evening and submitted probably 25-30 applications, by the very next day I’d already received 4 callbacks and 3 offers; the one I’ve given the most consideration thus far stands to pay $1,800/week & get me home every morning with a $10,000 sign on bonus paid out over the first year. I, personally, aspire to go out on my own some day and a position like the aforementioned certainly stands to put me in a better position and help expedite the process of saving toward my future goals and I couldn’t be more grateful for my time at MTC.

MTC is a fantastic school if you are looking to get into trucking as a career. All of the staff are amazing, each very instructive in their own way so you will find an instructor that will be able to explain things that will make the most sense to you, whether it's pre-trip, maneuvers, or on the road. I cannot recommend this school enough, especially since I am technologically challenged with vehicles, the instructors got me to the point where I was able to pass my license test ONE AND DONE! Thank you all for your hard work and dedication!
D Street314
MTC is a fantastic CDL school to attend. I came in not knowing too much about the tractor or trailer to knowing everything I needed to know to successfully pass my CDL state test. The instructors were very helpful since day 1 and if you come in listening and paying attention, even when it’s not your turn to drive you will be successful. ( You have to want it more than the next ) !!!!

I went to this school in 2009 I didn’t take nothing serious just showing up and clowning around to a point they told me I will be sent home for 90 days because I’m local if I was out of town they would’ve just sent me home but I eventually took it serious and even got a truck to myself to practice all day passed the test finally after 3 times when I was clowning around and my life has changed for the best I thank them
casey brooks
Our course at MTC was great. The instructors gave individual and small group lessons and tips. They spent a lot of time with us and made sure we were prepared for the CDL A; pre-trip, basic maneuvers and road test. I didn't know how I would take test day, but when I got out there I felt very prepared. I looked back on the instruction I received and realized they got me more than ready for this! The administrators are great too because they understand your needs and care about your success. Thanks!

Great staff joe smith and all his crew miss ronnie mr jerry mr kurt mr bob and miss Deb for all the knowledge I learned and I’ll definitely stop by in the truck
Tim David
Instructors are top notch. They are rough for a reason. I'm a one and done.
porschea lewis
MTc was a good school but the night shift was the best shift you learn more and the night trainers take their time to make sure you are learning what you need to learn to pass. Tim Bill and Kam were my instructors and they were amazin.
Rob Marsh
The staff/ team at MTC offer hundreds of combined hours of driving and training. Each brings a skill sets which set every student who is serious about learning on the path to succeed. They are dedicated and fully invested in each student not only attaining their CDL but, being safe, and very capable drivers. As with any schooling or training, you get out what you put in and you must execute using tools/skills you learn. You will learn to hate the term " E Nuggets" but they too play a part in the total preparation process. I gained new friend, peers and mentors during my time at MTC in Hazelwood. For these reasons I say, Thank You!!!
Sharon Clark
I am proud to say I am a Graduate student of MTC. When coming to this school I was afraid I would not be able to learn how to drive a truck n I'm here to tell u it was do to the many wonderful Instructors. I feel like a professional. U see. Mr. Bob n Jerry taught me how to navigate the truck n the proper way of turning a corner n Jerry was a big part of helping me with my pre trip n In-cab inspection. And I know I drove Mr. Ed crazy but he help me out so many time on the yard doing my ManeuversAnd reminded me each time straight back and is in everything u do on the yard, off set, alley docking, Parallel parking. And I don't want to forget Mr. Curtis ( if u are out on the yard n here ) Hard left or hard right u will know u are in the right places. U see what I learn from these guys I will never take it for granted.

My experience with MTC was the best ever , they have the best and most helpful instructors ever. I'd highly recommend this school to anyone.
Charnell Lanay Vlogs
I arrived at MTC June 14th 2021 not knowing anything about trucking. Never heard of a pre trip or a maneuver..Straight line,Off set, parallel are a Alley Dock! Well five weeks later I have my CDL license! Knowing all about the above. The instructors are very helpful and hands on! Mr Ed had that smooth calming voice telling me to drive my tractor trailer while teaching Offset! Bob can teach that road well! Because of him I learned my four step brake test and how to make my turns correctly and maintain my lane. Mr Kirk can teach Alley Dock in his sleep and refuses to let you give up! Love him for all he did..Mr Jerry is the most uplifting he teaches it’s ok to learn at your own pace and in sections but encourages you to work hard… And if you fail pre trip it’s because you didn’t listen! Trust me! And last but certainly not least Mr Joe what can I say he taught me every maneuver but offset! He taught me how to hustle, how to work hard and to never give up!! He taught me how to always get it right every single time I was doing a maneuver…His favorite thing to say was listen and pay attention..As you can see it worked! I’m now a truck driver now…So glad the day that I googled trucking school MTC came up! I highly recommend MTC #MtcTaughtMe

Very professional school, they teach you what you need to learn so you can pass the first time. One and Done
Jermaine Bolo Weathers
My experience at MTC was amazing. The instructors trained well and was well spoken it would have been impossible to do it on my own. Although the instructors should be more mean because the students never listen and they never be where they suppose to be where they are told to be on the yard. I actually say MTC hazlewood MO changed my life and helped me helped me to reach A huge accomplishment in my life. Brandon the instructor was awesome he was the only one that could teach and explain to me how to properly do A alley dock before I was worried because I just couldn't get it right I also want to thank Joe he was like the hard up father some of us never had some of us appreciate that to get us by in life and Anytime you was sleep or in a daze he reminded you why you was there if I could I would do it all again
THANK YOU MTC
Jordan King
I had a great experience at MTC. From the first call during recruiting, all the way through training, to my State CDL Test I couldn't have asked for more. All of the information from how much to bring for food to the materials provided in class to get my permit and train for CDL testing was spot on.
Tia is an amazing recruiter. She did a stellar job explaining the process of my training schedule which was completely accurate to my experience.
She has been an amazing resource throughout my training period and you can really feel that she cares about your success.
The trainers were outstanding. Mr. Ed is an amazing classroom teacher and does a great job of ensuring that you are fully prepared for your permit testing. Gary is a Pre-Trip master and fully explained every part, procedure and keywords needed to pass that portion of the CDL Test.
I requested night shift and I was extremely pleased with the training staff. Ben, Ryan, Charlie & Ray were the night shift instructors that I personally had the most interaction with and they really matches my willingness to learn with a willingness to teach. Like everything you get out what you put in and at MTC if you come here with an open mind, a good work ethic and a teachable attitude the instructors will make sure to do everything they can to get make sure you succeed and get your CDL as quick as possible.
I went to my State CDL test fully confident that i would pass equipped with the training that I recieved here at MTC. As a bonus to being a "1 & Done" tester, I was encouraged by one of the MTC road instructors to get my Doubles/Triples & Tanker endorsements which I passed no problem.
I would fully recommend Tia & MTC to anyone looking to get their CDL.
Demetrius Burrow
Go to school 6 days a week, lied to me saying monday- friday.also no communication on what all you need to complete in the yard so you can get a test date. Took me 5 weeks when it should have taken 4 weeks
Edie Culwell
This school got me where I wanted to go and that is to get my CDL. We had a LOT of online training modules to complete before coming onsite to start our hands-on training. I know that driving an eighteen-wheeler requires extended knowledge regarding safety for myself and others so I took my training very seriously.
Coming onsite to the yard basically required learning the steps for the pre-trip safety check and four maneuvers that will prepare you for the state testing. Once you know what will be required, it is as one of the instructors said, “perfect practice makes perfect.” You will be there to practice.
No, it is not easy, you must pass the yard tests before the school sends you to state. I was in my fourth week at the yard when I finally went to state to take my test. There is no promise you will pass the first time.
I have high regards for all of the instructors because they all have spent years behind the wheel of an eighteen-wheeler and work hard to give their knowledge to you. More than once I heard an instructor say that the trucking industry has been good to them.
They took me out on the road four times which also prepared me for the state test. The school is not going to teach you how to drive a truck, (your company will do that) they are there to help you learn and understand the basics for safely operating an eighteen-wheeler to pass the state exam. You will get out of it what you put into it. I would do it all over again.
Shauna Lankford
I loved the staff, and the instructors where great with different teaching styles. When I got frusfrated they assured me I could do it and helped me. You get out, what you put in! You go in with a great attitude and work hard you will go far. Just listen and follow instructions.
joshua Deese
This is a good school. Taught me alot about how to drive a truck. I would recommend this place. Get staff and awesome instructors. Jerry and Lemont are two of the best instructors I have had here. Make sure to be prepared to work on how to drive and what you put into driving you will get out of it.
Felishia Kilian
I am a US Army veteran and this was a great experience! Arrived knowing nothing. Left feeling well prepared and ready to support my company. The representative Debbie made me feel especially welcomed to the school and effectively answered any questions or concerns that I had during my term there. Good customer service goes a long way and it's always good to start while in school. Thanks again!
Justin Richardson
Great place overall. The instructors are great, the program is quick and I would do it again if I had to. The only thing that prevents me rating it 5 stars is one particular instructor who goes by Gary. He needs to learn how to talk to people respectfully and not let his authority go over his head. He disrespected me one day due to a misunderstanding. The incident was filmed by fellow schoolmates. Other than that, great place, great learning, great experience
Mark Williams
I'm taking the MTC class in Tulsa Ok. Awesome instructors. This institution would get a 5 star if they had some help from the home office. Parking lot is got some Grand Canyon pot holes. Most of us are supposed to be trained in automatic trucks but were using manual and were driving through it. This an exceptional campus with folks that will answer questions you have and explain it. Great group of guys. They just need some help to continue there efforts in producing top quality professional drivers. Great job guys
Mike Brennan
MTC is an AWESOME school to go to!!! Don't get me wrong, it is VERY challenging...but if you're there to put your nose to the grind, are eager to learn, study hard and listen to the instructors, you'll do great!!!! I one and done'd both my permit test and my license test, thanks to these guys :-)
If you're there because you think trucking is easy and sounds like a "fun" idea...you will fail. Think you know it all and don't listen to the instructors...you will fail.
Go in, work hard, listen to the instructors, put your nose to the grind and who knows? You may actually have some fun while you get your CDL!!! :)
None of your damn concern
MTC is not as bad as some people make it out to be. Are some of the instructors are little/seem rough they do it for a reason. Make sure you come prepared have your permit if you can study your pre-trip before you go. If you have a night class be prepared to write a couple chapters out of the book. Study your 4 step brake test and you will do fine.
Use your time wisely show the instructers your willing to learn. Don't screw off and watch how everyone else does the maneuvers you might see somethng to help you.
My only complaints some of the training seems to be a bit backwards. I feel throttle and brake control should have been the first thing we learned before jumping in the trucks for maneuvers. I also feel some of the trucks should have been fixed before letting us use the trucks. I feel if the trucks where leak air in the brakes bad enough at we had to build them up several times while doing the maneuvers.
Al Butler
Very good school if u serious about getting a cdl the training is there. From what I see some come to half step others come do what's need to be done nothing in life is easy especially trucking. Ask questions listen watch and learn and ull be a one and done like me passed state test on first try I recommend this school
Eddrick Eggleston
I would like to say thanks to my MTC family for helping me get my CDL the morning crew that got me together and most all the night crew Bill and the gang and The head man in charge (Cool Joe)once again thanks to Jerry,Mr.Ed,James and Kirk and Bob.❤️They will work with you people’s fun place.

I went to the Park Hills campus for MTC. With that being said it is a small campus and there were three instructors total. They let you know right out the gate that they are not there to teach you how to be a truck driver but only how to drive the truck to get your CDL. I thought things went well at first. I obtained my CDL. I had to have a sponsor to attend. Now having a sponsor means that they are signing with the school to pay back so much out of your check and they will contribute to your loan as well. This in no way means that you are guaranteed a job with said company. I had issues after completion with my recruiter for the sponsor company. I called the lady in charge at the campus I attended and she assured me it would be okay. I would be charged additional interest to pay my own loan back now. So I found another company to go to orientation with. Today I received a rather hateful phone call from an MTC rep in St. Louis, MO. Apparently there was a lack in communication from the Park Hills campus to the STL campus. Someone who did not know me at all. He was very rude and almost to the point of yelling at me bc I did not go to the sponsor company. I have made multiple attempts since yesterday to get ahold of the MTC office personnel at Park Hills and have yet to reach her. But as far as the instructors at MTC, Charlie, Dustin, and Greg were very helpful in teaching us the things we needed to know to obtain a CDL. As long as you can go in with a learning attitude and actually pay attention to what they say you will be fine.
Daniel Padgett
Debbie Smith, the US Xpress representative was very helpful in our orientation and answered all our questions. The hiring process with Mrs. Smith is simple and straight forwarded. Very excited that I decided to start my trucking career at MTC in Hazelwood, MO. I first-hand enjoyed my training at MTC. The instructor were very helpful and knowledgeable about teaching student the basic principles of being a trucker. This school is fast paced and the student will excel if they focus and listen to the directions of the instructors. FOCUS is the KEY to SUCCESS at MTC.
Thanks for the knowledge,
Daniel
Kellie Mulholland
Their goal is to help you get your CDL, so if you follow what the instructors tell you, you will succeed. It’s an accelerated program, so you need to be prepared to work hard. Mr. Ed, Ben, Phil, and Lamont provide a lot of valuable knowledge.
I recommmend anyone doing this program to choose night shift. I did both day shift and night shift and preferred night shift.
My only complaint about the program is that the learning style needs to be more flexible. Not everyone learns the same way, so independent study needs to be more available. Some people learn from writing, some from listening, some from watching, some from hands on - many learn from a combination of these. Moreover, I think the curriculum needs to be adjusted. Writing the pre-trip 3x before I understand the value of the words defeats the purpose of the task/exercise. Honestly, writing 1x-2x at the end of week 2 would be more beneficial than 3x before week 2 (yard/driving) starts.
Still, I’m grateful for my time at MTC!

Good instructors! good training! Great school!

I completed training here back in September of 2008. Im still employed in the industry today. Currently i haul in the oil fields making good money but I've also hauled doubles, flatbed, reefer, and propane tankers. Thanks to the base this school provided me I've driven heavy haul tow truck like you might see in shows such as highway thru hell. I've been coast to coast and border to border, and maintained a clean driving record and safe operation for 11 years and counting. This school may not be perfect but they will certainly launch you on a profitable career if you can maintain your safe operation.
Ben Chemelli
Some of my points have been previously made but its worth saying again.
1. This is an accelerated school to teach you what it takes to get your license. Its up to the student's to learn what the instructors teach you in order to get your license. If you put a 110% into it you will get your license. I'm not saying it will be easy, but you will be successful. You must use your free time to study.
2. The night instructors are the best!!!
Thank you: Ben, Lamont, Ben jr, Charlie, Tim & Ray. These instructors really care about you and teaching you properly. Not only that but they care about your saftey. Its up to the students to listen what they teach you.
3. Also, heads up on the living conditions. Your not there for a vacation. Just a place to sleep, eat, shower and a place to sit down and do homework/study.
4. Finally I do recommend this to anyone wanting to get their cdl. Yes this will be tough, but this is the easy part in comparison to being out there on the road.
Again thank you so much Ben, Lamont, Ben jr, Charlie, Tim & Ray it was a pleasure meeting you and I hope I get the time to stop in and see you all again. A few others I want to say thank you too: Joe, Ed & Linda.

My experience while at MTC was one I will never forget. I am glad I was not babied while in class because I am a much better driver than most of the other new drivers out here. MTC has high expectations for their students and it shows by keeping us accountable for our actions. I saw people get terminated for not showing up to class. Didn't come there for a vacation i came for a new career and this is what I am doing now. A new career .The hotel we stayed at was something i would have used on a vacation not bad. The food was free so i used that recourse when I needed to . i would highly recommend this training program to anyone that is serious about a career in trucking. They will make sure you are prepared . I'm almost done with my first year accident free and always think of Kirk in the jump seat talking me though situations.
Nick Shumary
I went to this school December 2018 through a referral program and hope I can help someone who is deciding to come I saw an ad on craigslist promising 38k - 70k a year for no experience truck driving training. they pay for you a bus ticket and have you live at a hotel in Missouri for about a month to do your training. Expect no days off and to bring atleast $500-1000 dollars in case of an emergency. You must feed your self for the most part and expect to have no free time. the school tuition is about 9k after interest but most of you will have to pay 1/4th of that with the company you will be working for to pay the rest while you work under them over a 1 year contract. It didnt take me 2 days to realize this was a program for desperate people to find a career with possible bad credit this can set you an a path to get a promising job. I wasnt desperate at all and if you are in a good position I recommend you do it yourself in your own state with your own time it will cost you less and you could make more money while being in the comfort of your own state. the starting pay is 0.29c per mile with USXPRESS up to 0.70c per mile and you get your own truck. that's what turned me off the most. all training is down with automatic transmission trucks.
My final advice to you is that if you are in a desperate situation this is like a one year program to put you in good position to have a stable career good credit and good experience. However DO NOT do this if you have other options because you can make much more money doing it local plus 9k tuition is pretty hefty considering the amount of effort the school does to get you the knowledge. They cut alot of corners to make a bigger profit which was unacceptable to me considering I'm paying them 9 thousand. DO NOT be fooled into thinking the company will be paying 75% of the tuition because they will make that money back off your labour. Thank you and good luck!

I graduated in November of 2018 and the instructors did a wonderful job on teaching the ways to get the cdl. One thing joe has told me is that you have to want it. I have gone back to the school and thanked them for the work they had done for me to do the job i have today. For every person that comes up to me and askes how do i get my cdl i tell them mtc cause they care and want see you pass with the cdl in your hand. Thankyou mtc for the work you have done.

If you can’t pass the MTC school it’s because you did try your hardest and YOU are not ready to be a truck driver yet, but however you CAN go drive for Swift they will hire ANYBODY. Lol!
I went to MTC in October 2016 and to this day when I pass through St. Louis I have nothing but great feelings about it! After graduating my first year at Werner made over 50k. $$
My advice to anyone wanting to go get a CDL is # 1. study the test online over and over, don’t just show up at MTC without doing that. The are free cdl test online! The instructor will go over the test questions in class too but studying is something you can do at home right now. It really is too much information. Be prepared for that test before you get there and that will help a lot! Duh!
The driving and backing are practiced at school everyday until you are ready go test. And you will be given the same opportunity as me and everyone else. Most people pass some don’t, that’s because passing the test at the DMV isn’t easy. The test is given by a STATE TROOPER (with a buzz haircut in some cases) and they aren’t gonna let you sneak by without proving you can operate that vehicle. People could DIE and you will go to prison in this profession!
MCT gives you the best opportunity to get a CDL and is 5 star, so if you don’t make it then you aren’t ready! I know this because in 2003 I failed at Schneider and I was crushed but looking back it was good that I failed. For everyone’s sake and safety. But came back later and did it! Thanks for reading!

Excellent training and no nonsense. Designed to get the CDL ASAP. Instructors focus on getting the CDL. All of the instructors were helpful. Lamont was especially helpful, caring, and encouraging. The course is fast paced and provides essentials. If you listen, follow directions, and focus you will be successful in getting your cdl. Like all organizations some of their employees stand out: Lamont, Debbie Smith, Linda, Mr. Ray, Phil, Ryan, JD & Bob. Did I mention the super heavy duty workers - Debbie Smith and Linda?

I rated MTC at a 4 Star Rating due to witnessing what goes on at MTC from the perspective of a Student AND a Training Center.
First, EVERYONE has room for improvement. Yes, there is room for improvement at MTC. However, the Students that are sent to MTC have challenges. The Instructors and Director have to use Strong Boundaries when dealing with so many Students.
The Students left their trash laying around, complained more than being engaged in what they were there to do. I heard many people complaining about the high failure rate at the school, but failed to accept responsibility for their learning. Many Students were very disruptive (with their phones, games, loud conversations) and disrespectful to other Students that were trying to understand the material, and the wasted time they spent playing around in the trucks!
MTC expects Students to take their training serious, and you will test for the CDL Permit the second day!! It's my personal belief the school sets such an expectation in order to "weed out" the "game players" (yes, there are a lot of "game players" that like to waste training time.). It is my advice to schedule your training 2 weeks out, google the Missouri CDL Manual, and study the manual before attending the school. Doing so will really help you!!
The Yard Training was irritating to a degree. The instructors demonstrated what to do. Once demonstrated, they worked with the Students - to a point. Honestly, most Students were too busy day dreaming to pay close attention. So when it took someone 1hr 15mins to do a manuver, it burns daylight, wates valuable training time for someone else. So, if there are 4 - 8 Students waiting for their turn to train in a truck, it may be 2 - 3 hours before being able to do so.
The Yard Operation can use some Organizational improvement. But, the instructors are a great group of guys! Yes, there are a couple of "challenging" instructors at MTC that I could do without. Neverthless, when dealing with so many Students with just a few Instructors "challenges" arise.
Joe Smith, Director... Joe is fair, but firm. Talking WITH Joe goes a lot farther than talking AT Joe with an arrogant attitude. I think that stands true for anyone in a position of authority.
Mr. Ed... Great guy!! Very respectable, and easy going.
Brad... Great guy!! Good instructor, pro active, and engaged.
Yoder... Funny guy!! Great instructor.
Marty... Fantastic to work with! Marty will give you Real Life scenerios during driving training!
He is a NUT, but a fun NUT that makes the day fun with full of learning!
The lunch is provided, but gets old really quick. Bring money ($200) to pack additional food for lunch, dinner, and weekends.
The hotel is adequate (700 Location). The rooms are clean, organized, and comfortable. The shuttle drivers are A LOT TO BE DESIRED!
I finished all requirements, testing, and had my CDL License in 17 days! I took my training serious, and refused to allow distractions, drama, other students, or challenging instructors (there were 2 that I did not mention here), or the hot sun from keeping me from my goal.
I would ONLY recommend MTC to people that were VERY Serious about getting their CDL, and to those needing a Refresher Course.
STAY AWAY from MTC if you have an attitude problem, warrants, Not Really Serious about getting your CDL, an alocholic, or a drug dealer trying to find an easy way out! MTC is NOT easy, and there are no "hand outs" or Entitlements!!

I definitely had fun it was a new experience and not one trainer doubted me. If u want it bad enough you’re going to get it they give you enough instructions and directions to prepare u to get your CDL’s and everyone there is willing to give u extra help if need be again I actually have nothing bad to say
Big Block SRT (RJ)
Great place to learn... Great trainers... I would recommend anyone trying to get there CDL here. If you can take a little constructive criticism you will be fine.. Some will beat you down and some will take there time with you. In the end it's up to you if you want to get what you need. I mean no one if going to hold your hand all the way through your test. If you pay attention and do what you have to do you will be great here... I did it and I am very happy... ONE AND DONE BABY!

I attended Mtc in 2016...this program gave me a foundation to the best career decision I’ve made yet. The staff there in hazelwood Missouri is great. It was inspirational to watch Mr joe and his family run the show. I learned a lot from teachers and instructors like ms Joanne ...god bless u all and best wishes to you and the future students.

You can get a good career, with as few personalities as possible between you and your paycheck. But I'd recommend you avoid sponsorship via a company. It's the closest scenario to modern slavery, and you'll very likely have to buy your freedom if/when the promises fall through.
These people have been doing this for years and they're quite comfortable with the moral ambiguity of it all. It's an aspect of the world you just don't want to see and carrier companies have good lawyers. Do not, do not, do not make a bad deal out of despiration and too much pride to admit that's what's happening.

You get a FREE Greyhound there. You will either be paying for a Greyhound back home (You failed/Sent home/Didnt get hired etc) or ANOTHER FREE Greyhound to train with your trainer for 2-8 weeks. You will have a roommate or multiple roommates (one leaves, another comes the next day usually). That roommate might have the DAY shift or NIGHT shift. You better hope they have the opposite shift than you so you can have the hotel to yourself. You basically spend 12 hours a day at school everyday, either learning pre trip, in the yard, or driving with other students and instructors. They make you copy these paper packets that are pointless and will take up your free time, but I just didnt do them because you can still get your CDL and hired with USX. The food is terrible, it rotates McDs McChickens (old nasty lettuce), wendys hamburgers (again old and nasty), chicken rice (not too bad), or little ceasars pizza (again not too bad) BUT on Saturday and Sunday you will have to order food with your own $$ or bring your own or starve... You can go to Walmart twice a week or so. If you dont bring money it will not be that nice for you. I would say $100 would be enough for that plus another $100 for your bus ride if you dont make it. Study your pre trip before you come to this school and watch videos on Alley Dock, Parallel and straight back manueveurs. If you are late twice they send you home. Bus comes at 6am each morning to take you to school (15 minute ride). They do a drug test your first day and another one like a week later (Be smart, its a urine test). The instructors do their job. Lamar is the best one there (night shift). Hotel room is decent. There is no breakfast besides a grenola bar and coffee. If you fail your state test more than twice prepare to pay out of your pocket to take it again or just go home. Goodluck. I passed state on my 2nd try and work for USX dedicated Meijer account 1100-1500 a week.

1 and done in Macon Mo. School is a bit rough around the edges , but that’s okay . You’re not there to make friends , you’re there to obtain the training for a Class A CDL license- that’s it ! The instructors taught me the tools , I had to apply all of it to pass . I would like to thank JD , Nick , Phil , Pops, Trico, Gary and Mr. Ed for being professional and giving me the knowledge to pass . I wanna thank Joe and Linda for being amazing and answering my questions, plus pointing me in the right direction.
If you put forth the effort, you will pass .

MTC is a good school, Great Staff!
Steven Koehler
Great experience, its hard work but worth it. the instructors care and want to see you get your cdl. Ben, lamont, little ben, mr.ed, mr.gary, they all put their energy at the school to see you succeed. I would tell anyone that wants to go into trucking or cdl driving, go to MTC.
Steve Bobao
Best CDL training in Saint Louis. Love the instructors and it was very good experience.
latira simon
I really enjoyed my training at MTC-Hazelwood. The instructors are awesome and very patient.

This is the only school that would take me because I live in Alabama, and I didn't have the money upfront to pay for the school. They put you on to greyhound bus, they give you a hotel room it's not five stars but it's decent, they give you a ride to school and they feed you Monday through Friday. It's a pretty good deal but you have to have a little bit of spending money for food and you have to study the CDL Book or go online and take practice CDL exams before you go. And stay positive there's a lot of students and there's not very many trucks at their job is to show you how to pass the CDL exam and the driving course when you go to get your license and they will do that. If you just show up and you don't know nothing and you don't have any money it's going to be tough very tough but I did it and I have been driving for six months now I just made $950 this week take-home pay and I love it.
Alex Silvers
Alright guys and gals here is the thing this place is a tool you must use it to get your cdl's if you use it wrong you won't get em if use correctly your gonna do fine. The instructors are there to help ask em to help you don't be scared most are there cause the love to see people succeed in a new career path. Don't get me wrong this is not gonna be a walk in the back rain sleet snow or shine you will be busting your back to get where you need to be. It's school act like adults show up and don't goof off. It's extremely fast paced so seriously if you don't understand ask. Here are some things they don't tell you. 1 don't bring any firearms or weapons even if legal to do so. You have to sign a contract that they can check your room. FYI the room is extended stay America in earth city. The morning bus runs around 0530 and you'll be back to your room around 1800. The afternoon bus runs around 1430 you'll be in your room around 0300.

MTC is a great school with great instructors who really want you to succeed. If you pay attention and commit to the program, you will get your cdl. Just remember, your not there to be a social butterfly and make friends your there to get a cdl no one else can get it for you. If you make a friend along the way that is a bonus but your main objective is your cdl. Stay focused and give it everything you got and we will help you get there.
Stanley Davis
1 and done..... MTC is a fast pace straight to it school. They will teach you what's needed to pass your state test. I have nothing bad to say about the school. Do know, it's up to you on what you get out of it. You have to be an adult and not get distracted by the other students playing games. A++++
David Settles
Great program, instructors and staff very helpful and supportive .I graduated one and done.
Nai Nai
This is a great school, but it is an "accelerated" course so if your serious about getting your cdl and willing to commit to it and put in the work it will pay off for you. All the guys working here are great people who actually care and want you to succeed and if your willing to commit to it, these guys will commit to you.
omer ragab
Absolutely I will rate them 5 stars cause these people are just amazing all this success and accomplishment in the school cause of you guys and I really really appreciate it that and I have especial thanks for Joe and Jerry and others instructions and neck and Ms. Dabbe and the the whole stuff there and God bless all of you guys and keep you safe ❤❤👏👏👍👍!!
Temikka Wilson
The Tranier at this school are great these men have so many years of experience and they are will to teach it to you Mr Jerry is a great teacher but he not going to Suger coat it for you and he not going to lie to you Mr Ed omg you will love this man he gives the best advice Mr Kirk and Mr Bob are going to get you right on the road just listen to them they know what they doing Mr James is going to get you through your pre-trip like a boss Bill aka baby goat his name say it all (.) Mr Tim is the sweetest ever just all around good guy and the Goat..Mr Joe and his wife Debbie are the most amazing people when i was ready to give up on my self they wouldn’t let me MTC Missouri made me feel like family

Ben and Lamont the night yard instructors were awesome I learned a lot from them they gave me the tools to one and done my CDL State exam thank you guys so much words couldn’t explain what you guys did for me!!!! Mr.Ed A.K.A (Killa/free dog) lol was awesome taught me how to straight line. Charlie, Horace, Tim and Kevin all gave me great lessons on the road Charlie taught me how to right hand turn and that every turn is a curve and every curve is a turn, Horace taught me how to do things in the truck under pressure, Tim helped me with calming down and taking the road as it came, and Kevin showed me how to coast! Joe is firm when he has to be and when he gets a good chance trust me he will fight for each and every one of us he believes in anyone who hasn’t given up on themselves and shows mercy when needed! Linda is sweet and caring she’s always got something funny or nice to say. Elizabeth is down right the definition of hilarious she’s great to be around she’s detailed, proficient and sharp as a whip. Debbie is so honest and sincere I barely knew her and I started asking her about her life and she smiled and answered my questions. I don’t care what people say about this place it was home to me for a month. They went above and beyond for their students there was a guy who hit a fence and they taught him so well he passed his state exam the second time. They dedicate their time and energy to those who need it. They will bend and they don’t break. Don’t listen to any other reviews because they are from people who aren’t use to working for a living. You will never meet more genuine people!
Michael Jackson
The instructors tell and show you how to do it, it's up to you to learn. They're not there to baby sit you. Joe is a good guy, he's just a lil overwhelmed. It seems like it's more than he can handle. He need some help but a good guy. Mr.Ed (killa), Kirk, Doug, Ryan, Craig, Israel, Wally, Filipe,Mr.Garry are all great instructors. I was 1 and done but didn't receive my money for it. Oh and the Extended Stay (BED BUG CITY) they place you in is from your carrier not MTC.
Makk Dee
Its a great excelerated course to get your cdl, and receive job placement once you graduate. The bad reviews probably come from people who didnt pass because they didn't apply themselves or it truck driving just wasnt for them. Definately at least a 4 star school.
Ronnie Robbins
I enjoyed my time there in Hazlewood. MTC gives you a platform to learn with no money out of pocket and you get your CDL license. You pay for your own food and other ancillary cost. If you go there with grit hustle and drive; $50 a week for food and $100 emergency cost (the unknown). You will get your CDL IN 4 weeks A.K.A. 1&Done, pass all test the first time. They will give you back $130.
Anybody who has a negative review, probably did not pass their test. That’s on you!
P.S. I got my CDL THERE!!!
God loves you and so do I. AND THERE AIN’T NOTHING YOU GONE DO ABOUT IT EITHER!
Mike Casady
The classes are so large you don't get a whole lot of practice time on the maneuvers. A good day means you will do a maneuver three times. Most days you only get to do a maneuver one time in the morning and one time in the afternoon. If I had it to do over again I would choose a school with smaller class size
alexander pollock
Ms. Debbie does an awesome job with the hiring process and she needs to be recognized for what she does at MTC in the ordination department for U.S. Xpress. Ms. Debbie is totally for the student and any questions you have she takes her time to make sure you understand anything you have questions about.
Eric Rankins
In my opinion, this has been the best training. Its an excellerated coarse and the instructors are here for your success. I would recomend MTC training to anyone that's wants a successful career in trucking.
Methaq Rahman
I recommend this school to any one who try to getting his CDL . They will teach you and support you and overcome your fears about the trucks . Eventually I got my CDL .
Big thanks to ( joe + gary + yoder +Linda ) and the rest instructors
Arslan Ahmad
I got my license from this school. All the instructors are very nice. Just one complaint I had was just too many students, you don’t get enough time behind the wheel. If you’re not a quick learner you’ll be there for couple of weeks👈. …
Jennifer Scott
Great Instructors! Ryan, Lamont, Yoda are the best but I really have to hand it to Ryan for actually taking the time to explain why we do the manuevers and not barking turns at me. I did ally dock on my own and I clearly understand what I did wrong! Thank you Ryan and MTC!
jaylen sykes
It was a great expirence the class sizes are on the large side but do able just pay attention and listen to the instructors.
Chris Sykes
Had a great experience you really gotta want it and take advantage of the info and great knowledge. Helped me pass one and done at state test. Nick, Debbie, Joe, Jerry and Chad helped with every step Thanks Guys Time To Make This Money! 💰 …
Bill Everett
I just graduated 12/21/12 on schedule, passed cdl on first try no problem. I have no real complaints, instructors were very helpful and i received adquate time behind the wheel. I see and hear some comlaints but pretty much all from ppl who don't take anything seriously or want everything handed to them on a silver platter. Hotel wasn't the nicest but it was just fine considering its free! Food not the greatest, but again it was fine considering it was free!
Daniel Altice
This is the school to go to they have the best instructors all you have to do is listen
chaddo
I'v all the stuff u guys wrote "cdl mill"?... only if u pass the test. "3 or 4 weeks" only if ur not all there. I went to mtc in oct '98 my name is chad .L. I never had set foot in a truck before then and I was in And out. 2 weeks with a cdl and a job and I was 1 of the few that passed on the first try because I paid attention and did not mess around. I was there for 1 reason and it wasn't to pal around.
Molly Crawford
I went here in the spring of 2008. I had never been in a truck, much less driven one. They did what tbey promised, which was to get me my cdl. They didn't promise to have a 4 star hotel stay or fine cuisine, which they lived up to. What I learned was the basics of pulling a trailer through St Louis traffic, how to back up and how to do a pretrip. I was able to get gainful employment afterwards. No regrets here. I am still rollin' 18 wheels in 2013.
Craig Hall
They are amazing great Instructors. Billy Easton and Timothy Proot are amazing people and they definitely deserve a raise with all they do.
Eddie Taweel
Nice place good instructors passed my permit and test from first try with what they told me to study no extra work
Pénélope Tiberti
They make sure you get your CDL-A, and that's it. Their program is based on both the Missouri and the Illinois CDL-A requirements. There's still a lot of things to learn as you get your licence and get into the real world.
Charles Henton
Nice school helped me get my cdl the teachers were good thank too Joe .Tim Jerry Mr.kike and Mr bob and also James thank you guys for putting up with me..
Willam Allen
Staff was great an direct with their ability to teach an demand authority so everyone could achieve their goals ...it's exciting an makes you feel good about looking forward for tomorrow...
m g
No one is to blame for lack of knowing but the student should ask questions if they have questions .. that's what I did .. come here with passing on the brain and you'll do good received amazing instructions shout out to Joe , Ryan , Mr Bob, Mr Kirk ,Yoda Mr Gary Mr Brad and a few others the only negative thing I have to say is that there wasn't really a system for people who failed permit or failed state test me being both of them but it's cool it's fun and you will enjoy your time here
I See You Devil's
No lie just get in and get out i made some family and friends we all study everyday got in and got out in 4 weeks no bull if people putting 1 or two stars they were the ones who couldn't pass a drug test or flat out couldn't pass the easy driving test lol focus and get out and start driving im on the road rite now Yeeeee! Love MTC Joe and everybody. peaceeee!
Nick Lamb

I went to the mtc trucking school in Richfield Ohio it was the one best experience I've ever had.they were very friendly and understanding and pushed me to succeed.I would recommend this school to everyone looking to get into a new career
Marisela Zapata
I went to that school I learned a whole lot of stuff sure made it not been what I thought it was going to be but you know they taught me enough to know that when you're out there on the road you're a driver 24 /7 you gotta take care of yourself , take care of your truck ,you gotta be focus on what you're doing and they taught me exactly all that... Graduated December of 08 to this day I am driving very happy with good company... Have no complaints just one I never got my cap you guys promised me but its cool I love you guys thank you very much for all your patience you had with me...

(Translation) I highly recommend MTC Truck Driver Training, it's a great school! I thank all my instructors for all the help provided, their patience, perseverance, professionalism and, despite not speaking the language correctly, they put all their efforts so that I could understand each step to follow and thus be able to pass my exams. and get my CDL, thank you all!
