Ilango is a great teacher and very patient while teaching. He made me an efficient driver in just a few classes. Although I knew driving from India, which has an opposite traffic rule, his training and driving tricks made me comfortable to drive accordingly to the US traffic rules. I was hesitant to try parallel parking, but he made me practice it such that I was able to demonstrate it very well during my driving test. His efforts and perseverance led me to pass my driving test with a score of 86 on my first attempt, itself!

I would highly recommend Ilango. He is the BEST! He is the type of instructor who would go extra miles just to gear you and be prepared on the road. Took it beyond just the technical skills of driving, and made sure that I would know how to stay safe and survive in variety of situations that I might not have otherwise thought about. Ilango is a great instructor! I had my driving lessons with him this summer, which was a wonderful experience. I started with no experience which made me a bit nervous, but Ilango was very kind and helpful. He described things in detail and encouraged me a lot, after an hour’s lesson I can even drive on the streets with some confidence. Ilango also has a high standard for driving, he will keep telling you what to improve and eventually make you behave well on the road. Unfortunately, I failed my first try because I was too nervous, but Ilango really knows how to cheer me up. He worked with me to repeat the routes on the exam and on the specific aspects which I was not good at. And finally, I passed in my second try. I would highly recommend him.

Before I took part in the "Freedom on Wheels" program, I had given up the certain chance that I able to drive on my own. In spite of the fact that I've been to the United States for longer than a year, it took me a long time to get up with the confidence. The fact that I have such hands on experience driving in India. But some how made it very new to US roads although challenging for me to keep my vehicle positioned on the correct side of the road at all times. Finally, after a well-run with Ilango, he made whole process hassle and worry free. I licensed with great result fairly on my first turn. “Freedom on Wheels”— The name says it all!! This is the BEST DRIVING SCHOOL EVER!! Iilango is a GREAT TEACHER. My instruction permit was about to expire soon, when I started taking class from him. From very 1st day he made me confident about driving!! He teaches so well, he not only tells how to do any maneuver but also makes us understand what is the logic/reason behind the maneuver, which makes things easy to understand. My friends say parallel parking is super hard..but he taught me so well that during exam I did so quickly and perfectly that examiner also appreciated me. Obtaining a driver's license can be very stressful. But with the help of expert instructors like ilango, everything can run pretty smoothly. He is well experienced instructor, he will assesed your skill and develop a plan that will benefit you. He has the cheapest rate there is, atleast in st louis. You have to book ahead of time, for him to accomodate you as his schedule is almost always full. Listen and practice whatever he teaches during your driving class. First, the price is nice although I did not buy the package which should make the price even lower. Second, very communicatable and accessable , always can reserve a class by sending messages and make a phone call with coach. Third, coach is really helpful! Helped me got license in a week which save me a lot of time. Shout out to Mr. Ilango Gurusamy, best coach ever, very patient, careful, accessable and got a nice Toyota car which has tidy inner and clean air. Solid five-star service!

I recently was helped by Illango from Freedom on Wheels. I could tell from our initial phone conversation that I was in good hands. My situation was a little different than most, my dl had expired 5 years ago, and my current age is 45. I needed Illango to give me a little practice for I hadn't driven in over 8 years. And I also needed a car to take my driving exam in. Everything went great, Illango is a friendly, patient and knowledgeable instructor. I worked with him for one day and took the exam that same day. I passed with a exam score of 100. OYEAH!!! Thank you Illango.

I contacted Mr Gurusamy based on excellent feedback on Facebook . Coming from India , It was the first time I drove an automatic car on the right side of the road and just in 2 full sessions with Mr Gurusamy got the required knowledge and skills and was able to clear my driving exams with very good score . I highly recommend him and please don’t rush it spend time behind the wheel with him and you will be fully prepared for the exam

Ilango was a very great and patient driver. I was nervous, scared and had ZERO driving experience but he was very understanding and helped me overcome my fear of driving. Highly recommended driving school! I passed my driving skill exam in first attempt because of Instructor Ilango. He is very professional and knowledgeable. His instructions are very detailed and he makes sure you apply them while driving. He is very patience & detailed in answering questions, made me confident enough to attempt the driving exam. He is flexible enough to schedule my classes based on the timings worked for both of us and picked up/dropped me in from/to apartments. I took 16 hours package to have enough driving practice before exam, since i am new to the country and do not have friends/relatives car to practice. Price is reasonable and lesser compared to other driving schools.

I would recommend this school wholeheartedly. The instructor is patient, helpful and works with wherever the student is. He is very reasonably priced and usually gives you a little extra time too. He is not rigid about timings as other driving schools are. I had a very good experience with him. I took three lessons with him and I could feel a big difference in my driving ability. He taught me well and even taught me freeway driving in my third lesson. I feel more confident and was able to pass my driving test on my first try with his help!

Good driving school for new learners like me. Ilango goes above and beyond to make sure that you are ready for the road test. Driving lessons are usually 2-4 hours, where he will build your confidence (useful for a new learner) to the level where you wont be anxious to drive on the road test day. PS: A review driving class on the day of the driving test is crunch. Overall, highly recommended.

Highly recommend! I contacted this driving school to sign up for a driving package. But instructor suggested to take an initial class without a package so he could gauge my driving skills and customize the package. He customized classes based on my driving experience and focusing on areas in which I needed more help. He is quite patient and made sure I apply all the rules while driving. These classes were not restricted to the duration we agreed on as part of package, he extended class duration when required so that I feel more confident while driving. On the road test day, he nearly made me drive 3-4 hours before the test to make sure I am ready for the test. And I passed :) Price is reasonable and packages are customized as per learner's skill level.

Ilango has a lot of patience, gives feedback immediately. Does not over charge. Knows exactly how many classes one needs and tells upfront after the first class. Nice guy, does not waste your time and he expects the same from students(it is fair).

A very good driving school. Mr. Ilango is a very kind hearted person with good communication skills. He taught me how to drive very cautiously, to be aware of the cars around you, checking the mirrors, blind spot checks etc. which made me pass. What a STELLAR experience with Ilango at Freedom on Wheels; frankly, five stars is not enough! Ilango is excellent at his job - he's equipped with a proper training vehicle, he's skilled at instructing, and he knows exactly what students need to know to pass their driving exam. But, more importantly, he's a patient and caring teacher that connects with his student. The result is a safe driver with the skills to confidently tackle the streets (and keep her parents from worrying). We moved back to the US after living overseas and our daughter missed the normal driving/training opportunities afforded most teens. We worked with Ilango to build a plan that went from zero experience to a license in about six weeks. She is by far our safest teen driver and I scratch my head why we didn’t try this before. If you have a teen that needs to SAFELY learn to drive – run, don’t walk to Ilango. We’re fresh out of kids, but will send everyone we know his way. Well done sir! Here’s the VERY large smile upon receiving her license!
