My daughter had a great experience with Defensive Driving School. She drove with Issac Kim in Issaquah, and he was amazing with her. He had the perfect sense of humor to make her at ease and was always very reassuring to her. He gave excellent feedback to her on ways to improve. Overall, we had a phenomenal experience with this driving school and will be returning with our son.

We enrolled our youngest child in Defensive Driving School in Snohomish. My son’s classes were online. We were unsure if a two hour zoom class would be beneficial. It was much better than we anticipated. He drove with Cameron and Tyson. They both did a fantastic job with our beginning driver.

I have had a great experience with the classes, they are always very easy to understand and keep the class involved and learning- shout out to Vincent & Paul. With the drives I would HIGHLY recommend James. He has a very informative and calming demeanor which in my opinion is the only combination to have for a driving teacher! He was able to detect what type of personality my daughter had and engage with her as a person, she was able to relax and just focus on learning! It was amazing to watch; also I had some trouble with the scheduling agent site and Clay could not have been more patient even though I was panicking. I don't know if anyone in charge reads this, but if you do- these people I have mentioned all deserve a raise. This is my first experience with a child in drivers ed and I could not have been happier. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend. My 82 year old mother thought she was ready to start driving again after not driving for several years. I took her to DDS for a two plus hour evaluation. After testing at both the office and driving, they recommended she not drive again. Using an independent, qualified service, helped her to make an informed decision on whether or not she'd be safe back on the roads. We appreciate their professionalism and care during the process. It was worth the money. On the other hand, the department of licensing recommended she just start driving again. Thank God for the pedestrians and other drivers on the road, we didn't take their advice.

The school is very efficient at teaching proper driving. I appreciate how effective and innovative their methods of teaching are. I tried out their driving simulation lessons and really enjoyed it. The lesson really helped improve my steering control and blind spot checking. Bill, the instructor teaching SIM training, was also very patient and friendly. Overall, great experience!

I went to Issaquah,WA location to learn driving skills & my instructor was Mr. Isaac Kim who is a very knowledgeable person with lots of patience. I have never drove a car in my life and it was the first time when I was learning driving & honestly it was one of the best experience I had. Mr. Kim not only motivated me but also build my confidence level and because of his knowledge and patience I was finally able to clear my driving test. Mr. Kim always keep asking questions related to driving skills and that really helped me to understand all the driving rules which we follow in US very easily. I would highly recommend Defensive Driving School and specially Mr. Isaac Kim as your instructor to learn driving if you are new in USA or never drove a car. I had a great experience taking a stick shift lesson with Kyle. Never driving stick before, Kyle was able to cover the basics and get me moving quicker than I expected. He was motivated to make sure I got the most out of my lesson, getting me out of the parking lot when I felt ready, and asking about any specific things I wanted to learn when on the road. Kyle is professional, knowledgeable, and supportive.

DDS is a very thorough, engaging and professional driving school. My daughter had a very positive experience with her primary teacher especially. They are not the cheapest school around but it was worth paying just a little more to end up feeling confident in her driving ability and knowledge by the end. I did half of my class in a classroom and half online due to covid 19. The online classes were just as good as the in person ones. Everything they teach has a purpose and is very helpful in knowing what to do on the road. All of the instructor are very nice and experienced. I would highly recommend this driving school for anyone learning to drive.

We never had a single issue with DDS. They were superb! Customer support from the Kirkland office was really good. Asked them lots of questions during the 6 weeks. Really helped us understand the process at DOL as well as what the driving school provides. All the instructors in the University District were very good. I rode two times during my grand daughter’s training. Impressed and learned some ways to to help in between scheduled drives. I have no hesitation with my 5 star rating.

I took a driving classes at Defensive Driving School. This is a super, amazing service on a front desk and teachers are really good, they have a great attitude and manners. Staff is friendly, smiling, absolutely organized, scheduling is perfect. Classes are always in time. My teacher -Carol is a special person. She is a very high professional driving teacher. She is always calm, confident, with super reaction on the road and as a result I felt confident on the road. She explains stuff using different ways, so there is no way don't get it. It was a pleasure to study here. I highly recommend this school and sure theirs other schools are also perfect, as this one.

I took 10 lessons at the Kirkland/Bellevue (Yarrow Point) location, and did most of them with Marc. He was very patient, and explained things well. The commentary driving helped a lot. I passed my driving test first time round, and couldn't have done it without these valuable lessons. Definitely recommend!

Instructors are nice and cover the material very well, and manage to keep it pretty interesting. This probably varies from class to class, but the other people in the class I'm in are all pretty awesome too. All in all a pretty solid experience thus far, definitely recommended

My son took the web-based DDS learner class during the covid shutdown. It was the first webinar version of the course, and they were really well organized. He found it very informative and really liked instructor Kyle. The condensed format was terrific. Looking forward to in-person drives when everything opens up again.

I signed up for the 5 90-minute lessons. during the whole process, Natalie has been a very good instructor, patient and supportive and always encourages me. We drove mostly in dark and she tries to find some spots with light for me so that i can practice the backing manuever. I really appreciate that. we drove on the freeway too. anyway, she is a good instructor and thanks to her help, i successfully got my driver license and am able to drive safely.

I attended the Defensive Driving School on Benson Hwy. My instructor was Gayan Pilai I enjoyed the class very much much. The instructor was very cool but always made sure work got done. The only words of advice i have is, PARTICIPATE. The class will be much easier if you participate and ask questions. Other than that just remember to practice driving outside of class and you will have a great time while also learning at the same time!

German is a very good instructor. He is very nice and also professional. He is very helpful and I passed the road test for the first time even I did not have a lot of driving experience before. He taught me the way of driving safely for any circumstances.

Greg was the main instructor at the Poulsbo location and he was straightforward and told the students the way driving should be done. Very impressed. Our soon-to-be-14 year old will be going through the DDS training when the time comes. Highly recommend this company for teen driver training.

This school is easily one of the best if not the best places to take your kid during the time when they move towards adulthood and begin driving their own vehicles. The specific site I was on was the Kent-Benson class and my teacher was Gayan Pillai and all I can say about the class is that the atmosphere here was great, , my teacher was fun, and the classes were interactive and interesting. If you are looking for somewhere to teach your kid how to drive, not many placers will do it better than this

I took a few or their stick-shift lessons here before moving to Europe, and learned everything I needed to know. By the end I was pretty comfortable with the manual, and had a chance to practice more difficult scenarios like parallel parking on an incline. The instructor Kyle was great, and was really able to pick up on exactly what mistakes I was making and what I needed to do to correct them.

Over All- Excellent school to learn driving. Especially for those who are new to driving. I took 10 lessons (90mins) with Mr. Fay, he was really nice, supportive, patient and very professional. He explained everything very clearly and always made sure I was learning to drive the car the safe way. He was very kind and extremely patient during my learning. (Renton location) Elizabeth is a great teacher and is very nice and down to earth person, I’m learning a lot in her class! Would rate her 5/5 stars as a driver ed teacher and person!! She’s really good on drives and teaching the ways of the road! Gayan, I have done 3 drives with him and every time he has been on the phone talking with other people, and even made me wait 15 min so he could finish a call! Wouldn’t recommend him.

The instruction here is great. I am a problematic driver (failed previous driver's license exam) with some bad habits as a driver that really caused problems for my previous driving teachers/coaches. Carol is an excellent teacher who was able to get me past those hurdles so I can feel at ease behind the wheel. My time here was absolutely worth it.

I can't say enough positive things about defensive Driving School! Kit (Mr Zell) was exactly what our daughter needed for her driving! She has anxiety and needed a very calm and systematic instructor. I rode along and he was just fantastic with her! He helped her learn without creating more anxiety and pressure. He corrected her as needed but she never felt more stress. He did 4 of her drives. Mr Sooter did her highway drive and is what she needed to encourage her to "put the petal to the metal" and not worry. He helped her past her fear. I also feel that I learned a lot myself from the instructors and and they helped me understand how to help her when we practice. I am very thankful! Our daughter enjoyed Mr Sooter as the classroom instructor. He was a good balance of needed info and humor. Our daughter is well prepared and moving right along with her requirements for the state now. Highly recommend these instructors.

Only con would be punctuality, sometimes we would start a bit later. But it was ok because students where often late.

Took this class at the Issaquah location. Easy to make the 3:30pm class coming from Liberty High School. Mr. Kim and Mr. Freeney were great teachers. The class was informative but they also kept it interesting and were entertaining. Great use of humor. Email communication was clear on class expectations, using schedule agent to schedule drives and schedule the parent meeting.

Hi, I am an experienced driver from a foreign country so I had to do my WA test only. I didn't do any lessons. I failed twice BUT this was totally fair: I failed to stop COMPLETELY at stop signs. Remember this please! I found the admin staff helpful and friendly, and the examinators fair and professional. No problems.

I did my skill test in Nov 2015 at 4th Ave SE .. and the guy there is very good person I don't remember his name tylson or tyslon I'm not sure ..he told me my mistakes that's very helpful and I went with my brother in feb 2016 ..my brother was very comfortable and do the test with the same man ...and in the third time I took my hasband to make the test and the same man was there ..and he explain to as on the wall board several question that we didn't know it and I hope to know other person want to make the tests to take them there..... five star are not enough ...

*Redmond Location* Both my daughters class instructor (Tyson) and drive instructor (Josh) were outstanding and kept my daughter engaged the whole time. I thought they were both well set up and well done. Josh (Drive Instructor) was so great. He was knowledgeable, professional, calm, collected and really encouraging. My daughter and I both enjoyed and appreciated his instruction. The DDS customer service was great, convenient and quick to answer all of my questions and help w scheduling.
