He made sure that my experience as a student was extremely informative! He even made sure to be, both, present & supportive, right before I took my test! The school was nice and professional. The instructors were kind and patient. They were also informative and gave good instructions that led to me passing my driver's test. They were always on time and called ahead before picking me up. Their prices are fair and on their website so you know exactly what to expect. I happened to have two instructors but my main instructor was Sal who is the best of the best. If you ask for him, you will surely be satisfied.

Date of review: 12/26/2022 Goal: Passing the driving exam (which I did!) Total hours of lessons required: 10 hours over the course of ~2 months Driving instructors: Eddie (for 2 hours), Soso (8 hours). I did not have any driving experience prior to starting this driving school. Both instructors taught me the step-by-step process of completing the exam with confidence and without error. The instructors explained in detail and the reasoning behind each instruction/obstacle. During the day of my scheduled exam, I also rented their vehicles to use. Instructor Soso, in particular, had a lot of patience for my during each lesson, and was very understanding when it came to my inexperience with driving for the first time. She is the best both professionally and as a person! Overall, the experience was invaluable. I learned a lot of what was required in order to pass the driving exam. I highly recommend this driving school for those that are seeking professional guidance in learning how to drive!

Driving with Professional Driving school has been an amazing experience. They helped me from my first practice test until I passed and got my license. I had a great experience with Rafael. Even though this company is a bit more expensive than others I researched it’s well worth it. I’ve been trying to get my license the free/cheap way (relying on family and friends to teach me and let me borrow their car) for well over a decade and could never make it happen. Within one week (two hours practice, fast tracked test scheduling, using their car for test and a 30 minute practice before the test — totaling $300), PPDS had me licensed and ready to move on with life. I am really grateful and wish I had done it sooner!

This is a trustworthy company. From the beginning they were very polite & attentive to my needs. I hired them for 2 sessions. The first session was a week before my test, & my instructor was Sal. He did a phenomenal job at helping me to gain confidence behind the wheel. He also helped me with parking, which was my first time ever attempting to park. He made it so easy!!! The next session was with Rafael & it was for the actual day of my test. I hired them to give me lessons an hr before the test & to use their car to take the test in. I would definitely recommend using their car! Anyways, Rafael helped me to sharpen my skills & gave me some great pointers & insight about the test. Great experience with Philadelphia Professional Driving School. They were very responsive and flexible in helping to teach my daughter how to drive. Every time I contacted them they were responsive and answered all of my questions. They also provided follow up calls after each lesson to let me know what they focused on and how my daughter did. I’m happy with my experience with this driving school. I booked a 1-hour practice and car rental for the road test. My instructor (Rafael) drilled each of the knowledge of controls, parallel parking, and driving components of the test and carefully explained where I needed to pay more attention/avoid common errors. Philadelphia Professional Driving School has been the best investment I've made. I was not ready to take the test by myself, and Ken (my instructor) was absolutely instrumental in me passing. I highly recommend Philadelphia Professional Driving School, Inc. for severals reasons: First, they teach you how to drive well. The school gives you all the knowledge on vehicle control (light beams, emergency braking…) driving (parking, turning, reverse… ) and how to build / improve your driving skills and confidence. The teachers are also adapted to teach to nervous drivers and/or people who speak foreign languages. I come from a foreign country and English is not my first language. I have never driven before. I learned everything with Sal, who was an amazing teacher. I also had Rafael who gave me a last training before the exam that provided me the confidence to succeed today. Second, you will pass the driving test in a minimum of time. This school trained me very well to master the 3 phases of the test : vehicle control, parallel parking and road driving. Teachers give me advice on what to improve or what to be careful of in order to pass. Before the test, I highly recommend to opt for 1 to 2 hours training + car renting. You will be confortable with driving the car and will remember what to do. As a result, it will decrease the possibility to make mistakes. I had passed my road test today in one try thanks to PPDS! I was so nervous during my first lesson, but my instructor Mike showed me how easy it could be if I just took my time. Mike also taught me how to parallel park in the most simplest way possible (left and right side). After 3 lessons, I took my driving test with a half hour practice beforehand where Raphael showed the ins and outs of the test and helped me a little more with the car's main controls. Definitely would recommend to friends and family or for a refresher!

This was the best experience of my life. I had a real fear of driving and have been on the journey for over 15 years. When I got my lesson with Rafael (I believe that's his name--he has the sweetest face & personality), he was calm, confident, secure, patient, kind, & funny. I was still nervous but after a few lessons he taught me to trust myself and feel more free on the road. I passed my exam on the first try. This school is professional, diligent, kind, open. Not just great teachers but they are also great humans full of compassion and humor. When I was become very nervous driving on the highway for example, my teacher would begin singing Celine Dion and make meaugh and relax. I am forever grateful to them for everything they taught me. SAL and RAFAEL are the best driving instructors ever!!! Sal helped me really get the parking down pack and RAFAEL was with me during and before my test he helped ease my nerves and did a great refresher with me for every part of the test before I took the test. I would recommend. Do not let the $200 scare you. It’s worth it I only took 3 lessons and did a 30min refresher course (the school vehicle included if needed for test).

Amazing driving school, communication and scheduling is easy and fast. I passed my drivers test the first try with flying colors with my driving teacher, Ken Pupo. The driving school is excellent if you’re a nervous first time driver or even an excited one. I was brought to a large parking lot that was mostly empty and my driving teacher had full control of the situation at all times with a break on the passenger side. I truly recommend this driving school for all ages. The cost is worth the price and reasonable.

We hired PPDS to teach our son how to drive after a recommendation from a friend. I can't speak highly enough about Ken. From the first point of contact, Ken was professional and organized. My son did the 3 session course immediately after getting his permit. After the 1 session, my son was confident, in control and driving 1000% better. Ken put our son at ease from the moment they met. If you're a new driver or haven't driven in a really long time, your money is well spent on their 2 hour class! Rafael was incredibly helpful and a great driving instructor. He added on new driving basics and skills as the time went along and we practiced the test a handful of times before hopping on the i95. I was a little nervous going into the class, but there was no need to be! Rafael assessed my driving in the first 10 min and then personalized the rest of the class for the remainder of the 2 hour slot. I'll probably take one additional class before I take the test, but I am no longer nervous about going for my license!

They are pricey, but you feel safe because they have the ability to stop the car at any time(a break on other side of car) and with their training I was able to get my driver's license. All of my instructors were male and I do wonder if they have any female instructors since I think it would be good to have female teachers as well. Sal, who was one of my teachers gave me great tips and taught me a lot. There were things that he taught me that helped me grasp what I needed to do more so than when others tried to teach me the same thing. They also offer to pick you up at your location which a lot of other driving schools don't offer, which helped me a lot. If it weren't for this school I would not have been able to pass my driver's exam and I am glad I took the lessons. I recommend this driving school.

This place is great! The instructors are amazing and will make sure you're comfortable and make you drive safe. The lessons are varied and you pick up almost all driving skills, you can even ask for specific things that you want to learn. To help with the driver's test, they have a perfectly set regimen. Wanted to start off this by saying before taking my lessons with PPDS I was absolutely terrified and unprepared for driving. PPDS was an absolutely excellent help towards my driving journey. Philadelphia Professional Driving School was the best choice I ever made. I’m an extremely timid driver and after just THREE lessons I was able to pass my driving test ONE THE FIRST TRY! Couldn't thank the members and staffs at PPDS enough! After 3 sessions and I was able to pass my driving test. My teachers really know the in and out of the exams and they'll give you all the tips you need to pass your test. My first lesson was with Lindsey (I think?) and we drove around and practiced parallel parking. It was my first time ever driving so this was my driving 101. Then I had my second lesson with Rafael, who also helped me practice on my exam day. Rafael really knows his stuff and everything that he tells you will be super useful - so pay attention! He will push you to succeed and you'll be able to see the results very clearly. I probably wouldn't have passed my test if it weren't for the very last tips that Rafael gave me on my test day (THANK YOU!). And then my last lesson was with Mike and he basically reinforced everything I learned and made sure I was ready for my exam. I hadn't driven for five years, and even then, only on the left hand side of the road. I had a two-hour lesson, and a lesson directly before my exam. The instructors were incredible. Mike was supportive but firm in the lesson before the exam, taught me to parallel park (which I got first time in the exam!), and went over the exam route multiple times until I felt quietly confident. I would recommend this school to anyone who hasn't driven for a while. The pick-up and drop-off service for the exam is excellent - and I was thrilled to pass my driving skills test!

The instructor was really helpful and helped me hugely with parallel parking - which was what I was the most nervous about for the test and I had no confidence in before hand. He also gave me multiple practice runs of the test route and taught me where I would loose points and informed me of what the testing people would be looking out for. I took a class on a Tuesday and the weather was great. My instructor was Rafael. I could tell that he was experienced and good at what he does but I have a few complaints. 1. His accent was very thick which made it difficult for me understand and receive clear instructions. 2. It was a good thing that I am used to being given snappy and impatient instructions, otherwise I would have been crying like a baby. 3. I felt that it was extremely rude that he had me wait in the car while he checked on his next client who was repeatedly sending him to voicemail TWICE. 4. He refused to teach me how to parallel park because he felt that I couldn’t learn everything in one day despite the fact that he kept saying I was a fast learner and very smart. Therefore, I am forced to take another class to avoid failing my exam because I can’t park. 5. He spent about 15 minutes having a personal conversation on the phone while giving me directions through abrupt hand signals. I wouldn’t say that this experience was a waste of money but it definitely was not what I expected. Would I recommend this driving school, Yes, just try to avoid Rafael.

The lady who booked my lesson was also kind enough to follow up after the lesson to evaluate the quality and possibly reschedule - rather than me having to chase the instructor(s) as with other schools. I used this school today. Very clean very professional. I had instructor Ken. He showed me a two step parallel process. I did two practices on with him and one on my actual test. I booked them last minute and they were very accommodating. I am a new driver and he helped me get my license on my first try! Book with them you won’t regret it !! I have never driven a car in my entire life and I am 38. It takes just about month for me to complete the whole process from the first lesson to the test passing. Aldi is a good teacher with responsibility and humor. The service and consultation are good because you can easily book your lesson through phone and have as many questions as you want. I think it is really worth the money.

I passed my driver's exam today, it was my 1st time. This is THE BEST driving school in Philadelphia. The instructors are so helpful, understanding and determined to help you pass. I took 3 ($70) lessons and package C for exam day. The company calls the day before to verify your lesson.The instructors call 30 mins prior to let you know they are on their way. The company calls after every lesson to see how things went and if you want to reschedule. Also after 6 hours of practice, you can request them to write you a letter for insurance purposes (perfect for student/beginner drivers to get lower insurance rates). I will miss driving their car, but grateful that they gave me the knowledge to pass the driver's exam.

I have had a hectic busy schedule from my employer on weekdays which allows me to have the time on weekends. I contacted this driving school and requested to schedule driving lessons on Weekend. They had not only scheduled on special request. I have had a driving class during the heavy Snow Storm in Philly, I remember the City was covered with heaps and inches of snow lying on the road sideways, Driving teacher Bill taught me the driving lessons in the parking lot covered with a roof. He had scheduled to teach me with a special driving skill set as a teacher. I can now drive for fun when I woke up in the middle of the night. I finally passed ! I failed twice but because I had very strict driving testers but i definitely feel like a better and safer driver. Rafeal is great and helped me out a lot , he's a great teacher if you do at least 3-5 classes with him or with Laila you will feel better and safer about driving because I was very nervous and scared to drive. I went from never having been behind the wheel of a car to passing my exam this past Saturday (6/9/2018). If you can, request Rasheem - he's knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging, and he made my driving experience an enjoyable one. PROS: -Accepts various payment methods -Calls you approx. 10 minutes after each lesson to guarantee satisfaction -Prompt / Punctual door-to-door service -Reasonable rates -Experienced in teaching all levels, ages, etc. -Clean, safe cars with an additional brake on the instructor's side CONS: -Would like to have had more options in terms of availability; it was rare that I was able to have lessons on consecutive Saturdays, and would often have to settle for every other Saturday, which isn't ideal for a new student. ***Although, they did try their hardest to accommodate my schedule

These guys were seriously great! I had taken 2 lessons with other companies prior to the Philadelphia Professional Driving School and was not too happy with the level of direction, feedback or attention of the instructors. Once I started lessons with this school, everything started to fall into place. I had 3 of the instructors for a total of 4 lessons (including test day) and i couldn't have been happier. Josh was my first lesson - he was patient, explained everything and even had me practice parking on a street with cars (showing me how to leverage the parking tips/tricks for the real life). My next lessons were with Josh's brother - apologies, i don't recall his name - but he was great too! He showed me the test route, practiced some more parking and was very patient and reassuring. Lastly, on test day - Laila (sp?) took me out. She was an excellent teacher! While parking, she decided that while i was nailing the parking every time...I should practice a situation where my first attempt didn't go well. And ya know what? I'm grateful that she did...because sure enough, i had to leverage several backup/forward maneuvers to park. In addition - when she saw who the examiner would be, she told me what to look out for (i saw the examiner fail 2 people before it was my turn...brutal). But - thanks to these guys...I passed first time...and couldn't be happier. Thank you again!

First thing's first, this school is affordable, straight to the point and totally worth while if you want to learn how to drive. I cannot begin to express how wonderful this service was! Today was my first time ever getting behind the steering wheel. I knew nothing about driving. I mean Nothing! And within 2 hours of the door to door service, we went over so much in so little time that I was astonished to know that I could learn so quickly. Of course I can't just do 1 lesson and expect to be the best driver, that's why I made another appointment to have another lesson. I have been driving for 15 years but a relocation opportunity brought me to Philly which meant I had to re-do my driving test. It was extremely easy to book. They called the day before my test to confirm the appointment and the instructor called 30 mins before to let me know he was on his way. Promptly arrived at the driving Center and we went around the course a couple of times and practiced parking. My instructor was very good, observed my driving initially and then pointed out bad habits I accrued over the years to ensure I passed the test. 30 mins later, I walked out of the DMV with my license! I fully recommend PPDS to anyone who is looking for a one stop shop on their test date- the rates are very favourable and they are very knowledgeable.

I was reluctant to drive and had extended my Learner's Permit twice 😫. I chose Philly Professional because of the positive reviews as well as the price (it was the cheapest option for my neighborhood - University City). The instructors were very knowledgeable and patient. They gave me the push when necessary so that I could step out of my comfort zone & add some gas to the pedal! They also provided tips and tricks, which made difficult things like parallel parking - easy. I passed my test in one try on a morning where nearly every driver before me had failed the first part of the test (parallel parking). All of the Philly Professional students during my time slot made it to the road and are newly licensed. Overall, this was a great experience.

Five stars strictly because of the SAINT himself: Ken. However, this story did not start off well. I am in my late 20s and have never driven before. Never even sat in a driver's seat! I called the school, and said this, as well as mentioned that I was extremely nervous. The kind man on the phone said he understood and I made an appointment for that week. Unfortunately, my first instructor and I did not mesh. I could not understand him due to his accent, which is not a big deal, but increased my nerves as this is something I have been anxious about for years. He put me in the driver's seat immediately and all he said was 'break, gas, pull out' and had me pull out onto a busy street in the middle of Center City within 1 minute of my first time in the driver's seat. Needless to say, I cried the entire 2 hour lesson, got home and had a full on panic attack. I felt like I wasted my money and I was unsure how this instructor actually taught anyone how to drive. Please do not drive with Sel/Sav/Said. (Couldn't understand his name). Truly the worst experience I could have had. Determined not to let one bad experience cloud my view, I called the school, expressed my issues, and they assigned me a new instructor: KEN. I cannot praise Ken enough. I had 5 lessons with him as well as a final mini lesson before my test. I passed on the first try. I did feel like it was pretty expensive, spent almost $800 total and I'm still pretty upset I wasted money from the first lesson with the terrible instructor, it was worth it to pass on the first time with Ken's teaching. Go to this school and ask for Ken. He's been doing this for 15 years and he is AMAZING.

First off, i had 4 lessons since it was my first time to drive. For my 1st lesson, i had Josh and it wasn't really that constructive. He taught me how to properly turn the wheels since i was struggling with them. I had him on a weekend. We drove around a neighborhood, practicing stop signs. He was nice but was just talking too much during the drives.i can't fully focus on the road if you are trying to have full conversations with me that had nothing with the lessons while i'm driving. Also, instead of telling why my turns were wrong ( either not wide enough or too sharp), he would just always grab the wheels instead of telling me how to fix or correct my turns so that i'd understand what i was doing wrong. For my second till 4 lessons, i had Ken. I had to switch instructors because i wasn't available on weekend anymore and had time after 5PM during the weekdays. For someone who would to fully understand the mechanism and concept behind driving, Ken is your man. He really felt like a professor. He thought me how to perfect my turns, to look straight ahead when driving and not down, which helped so much with fear of driving or bumping into something. He is really great for any beginner students. The only thing i didn't quite like is that something i felt that he was yelling at me or really didn't trust my driving as he was always ready to step on break when i even felt that wasn't necessary. But then, he'd apologize, which was nice. We then learned parallel parking. he is good at it but that took us more than 30 min. Also make sure to tell him the number of lessons you are planning to take as what happened is we wasted one day lesson to just drive around cones because he assumed i was gonna add lesson eventhough i told him i wasn't. For my 1st test, i had raphael. in 5 mn he thought me parallel parking!!! easy, straightforward , just perfect. his technique is great. he's the best to be honest. The only thing is he YELLS! he is NOT patient! It might be okay for some people but i hate when someone yells at me even if it is to correct me. There are many ways to tell ones if they are wrong and he chose to yell. it not only pressured me but i felt like i really messed up. but he cleared up a lot of mistakes from my driving during that 1hr pre-test and that helped me. He also thought me how to effectively change lanes on the highway!! i failed because 1st i had my test at oregon. 2nd the examiner failed me because apparently i didn't check my mirrors enough and i made a right turn instead of a left turn ( I really thought i heard him say right ). For my 2nd test ( today ) I had the girl amra ( or something lol). She was really nice. we practiced the driving route and parallel parking for 30mn. she was really nice, patient, great instructor! i passed my test. So, i had 4 instructors which were all great and to be honest thanks to the school. They are on time, always remind you one day and 30mn before your appointment. I would 99%recommend to any beginners.

I used them 3 times . My first time was fine . He was patient with me. The 2nd time I went to take my road test. My 2nd instructor was awesome and patient ( I failed because I was nervous) my 2nd time taking the test my instructor had a accent so it took a second to go get what he was saying but he drilled parelle parking till I got it and I passed! I just didn’t like that 1. I paid for 2 hours and I only got an hour and a half worth of practice 2. He was on his phone watching YouTube while I was parelle parking All things considered I would recommend them , just should be more attentive with students

Driving had always been something I was never naturally good at. I had my permit since I was 17 years old. However, I never got the hang of it and always felt uncomfortable when my family taught me because they would criticize me more than help me to improve. For 6 years, I kept renewing my permit until I finally became fed up with taking public transportation. I then decided to research a couple of driving schools but was unable to schedule an appointment because they were always booked. So, I gave this school a try and immediately got an appointment the next day. After 3 lessons, I felt prepared to take my driver's exam. Surprisingly, I passed on the first try! I had a couple of instructors but Najwa was my favorite. She was patient, calm, and positive to be around. She gave me the confidence I needed and always had faith in me even when I doubted myself. Najwa helped me work on my turns, become familiar with the test route, and perfect my parallel parking with ease. I highly recommend her! If you're afraid to drive like I was, it's time to face your fears! This driving school is affordable and have some wonderful teachers with the right request. If I can do it, you can too. However, I deducted one star because sometimes the instructors were 10-15 min late. But for the most part, I enjoyed the lessons. They were very helpful.

Best people ever to teach you. I hadn't practiced for over 2 years and took a 3 hour class before the test and I passed. Mr Rafael had me practice parking until I was confident and said that I am good. Also practiced a lot on the inner city streets to get me confident in maneuvering the car. I saw this school online, in the white pages; at first I was nervous using them. However, the person who set my appointment up, was very nice and helpful. Her customer service encouraged me to book with them. I just needed a car for my rode test and a reliable driver. I had failed my test before, going with my sister who helped me pratice, but I felt she made me very nervous. So, I decided to take my exam with a stranger. Scary part was I didn't know the car. However, when the driver arrived he was very calm, clean and professional. He took me through a quick test run, and gave me a few valuable pointers. My first test was out Norristown, Pa, so when I took the test again I took it out Island Rode. The rout was way different, but thanks to my drivers help, I passed! Yay!! I got my drivers license! I am super excited to have passed my driving exam today and am extremely thankful to Philadelphia Professional Driving school and my instructor Mr.Rasheen. I was nervous as a first time driver but Mr. Rasheen was tremendously patient and walked me through everything i needed to know about driving. Rasheen truly helped with calming nerves down and boosting my confidence behind the wheel. Passed my test on first try. I recommend 3 lessons and 1hr practice before which is what i did. Philadelphia professional driving school has been a God sent for me they where very hands on with my training and they were also very accommodating with setting up schduleing time, when it came to there prices $70.00 for two hours was a bargain and there prices for the road test was also a bargain $125.00 for them to come get you from your home and let you drive to the test location or $80.00 to meet them at the test location is a steal pulse you get practice time on the course and in car review. Bottom line PPDS is well worth the time and money to learn how to drive and get your driving license I would give them 5 🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇stars. I thank all the stage for working with me y'all the best.

PPDS is great. They are very prompt, professional and flexible to your needs. My teacher was Naujwa. She is amazing. She has tons of knowledge and will take take time to teach you on how to drive safely and responsibly. The best part about her is she is very calm and composed teacher. That makes a new driver like me or any driver for that matter feel safe and behind the wheels. You can tell her your weak points like wide turns or parallel parking, and she will put in extra hardwork till you get it perfect.She is AMAZING! Thank You and god bless you. Rafael is a great teacher. He shows you both routes that the examiners take for Levick, having you practice them multiple times. If you're struggling with controls, he drills you on them until you get them. Great school, patient instructor. If you have the chance, ask for Rafael.

Ok, allow me to tell you my experience with this school. First and foremost I never have been behind the wheel of a car. My first lesson was with a young fellow known as ‘Rock’- he was an okay instructor it’s just that some of the things he would say would be impropriate and irrelevant to the test. Other than that he was an ‘okay’ instructor. He allowed me to get familiar with just driving the car. We practice Pulling out of parking spaces and gas and pedal gears upon the road and how far to stop behind car when driving. My next lesson (second) was with the guy ‘Besson’ - he was more professional and he focused on the things I needed work on. He also helped me with the dreaded ‘Parallel’ parking. He gave me the THREE step method of parallel parking, in which I had 65 % mastered toward the end of the lesson. I enjoyed working with Besson so much I requested him for my third and final lesson (I wanted to get the insurance discount card after the 6 hours of completion of driving school they provided). We brushed up on driving, turns, parallel parking (95% mastered) and … “Oh my Besson – I don’t know the controls!!?”—No problem he taught me that within 10 minutes.  Hazard light, windshield, Emergency Break… etc… He told me to book my test- I didn’t think I was ready but he said I was- with just some practice in between before the test. So I did as I was told. I called the Driving School and I decided on the package of --30 minutes driving practice before actual TEST and then I would get to use the actual practice car for the TEST (since I was more familiar with it). I asked for Besson again for that lesson- but they sent ‘ LAYLA’. I was in panic, because I did not know her style of driving as she wouldn’t know mine. But it worked out for the best. Layla taught me a NEW PARALELL PARKING STYLE, 10 minutes before the ACTUAL TEST it was a “TWO” instead of “THREE” STEP METHOD. VERY SIMPLE- and I used that method for the TEST! IN WHICH I PASSED!! YAY!!!!! Thank You Professional Driving School, You guys are great!

This is an update to a previous comment that I left. After some time & thought & the fact it was getting down to the wire. I decided to.give them a call & use them for the day of my test. I requested that they send me a different instructor & just as I asked they did. Needless to say the instructor (Rafael) taught me how to park & improve in a few areas I needed help in, in just 30mins b4 taking my test. He made me feel comfortable & he put me at ease. He talked to me when he saw I was making a mistake. Itself because of him that I passed my test on the first try.... So if I had to refferal someone I would definitely tell them to call and request Rafael.... Thanks for the help
