John’s Driving School is a great way to supplement behind the wheel experience and training. Their trained and certified instructors can fill in the gaps in the areas that need to be worked on. John’s Driving School can also do the License test on one of their locations other than fitting in the extremely limited DMV schedule. Overall peace of mind and ease of getting the license test is a huge reason to choose John’s Driving School.

Three years ago we used Johns for lessons for our oldest daughter with great success. Just recently, we used them again for our twins. Jenn, Rob and Julie were so professional, friendly and helpful. Although it was sometimes difficult to get an appointment with our schedules, our twins were able to complete all their driving lessons. Jeff did a fantastic job with their test and we feel they are more than ready to be on the road. Thank you for all you did to make this experience a success!! My daughter tested today 6/6/2022 at Philadelphia Front Street location. Her instructor name was Julie. She was phenomenal! I truly believe it was because of her calming affect on my daughter and her kind ways that my daughter was able to follow directions easier and pass without a hitch! Thank you for being so efficient, easy to work with, and convenient! I would never ever suggest anybody to go anywhere else! We used John’s autos testing car for the test and my daughter said it was very easy to maneuver and a very smooth exam. Well worth the extra money.

My experience with John's Driving School was stellar. Not only were the staff and instructors good at their jobs, they all possessed the sort warm and inviting demeanor that facilitates the ideal learning environment. The instructors did not simply want to teach me enough to pass the road test, they go above and beyond to ensure that the driver's that leave their school are equipped with the knowledge, habits, and wherewithal that makes for safe drivers. John's Driving school will be my choice for driving school when it comes time to teach my own children how to navigate the road. 5/5 experience.

Absolutely amazing experience with John's Driving School. I was only there for the Driving Test on July 2nd Saturday. The online booking feature on their website is robust yet easy to use. Took less than 3 minutes to complete my booking. Extremely helpful and cheerful staff at their "check-in" window, and completed the driving test with their professional certified instructor. I went for the option of using John's Driving School's car, and I was impressed with their modern fleet of learner's cars, all full size, clean, and low mileage. Again, AMAZING experience with them.

We were so pleased with our experience with John’s Driving School. Our son had Rich as his driving instructor and he took his driving test with Mitch. If you need help learning how to drive, I would 110% recommended doing it here! Driving instructor Mike W. was the most considerate and amazing teacher I could have ever hoped for!! I also had Mac for my driving test and he was also very considerate and amazing at what he does, he could tell how nervous I was and the way he helped to calm my nerves made sure I passed my test the first time!! These guys made sure I was comfortable and confident! Thank you both so much for everything!!!!!

I enjoyed my lessons with my instructor who was very patient and understanding of my driving experience. She helped me navigate the roads with confidence and I felt prepared for my test. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a hiccup with my last lesson as it was cancelled on the school's part. I had to go very out of my way to make it to my last lesson in order to maintain my test date. Though there was some frustration from this situation, I do believe the school has very great instructors to learn from. I would definitely recommend John's to others who feel nervous about driving like I did.

Due to testing and social anxiety it has taken a very long time for me to get my license. Using John's driving school was the best decision. JT and Pete taught me so much. I'm so thankful for them. My testing instructor Mitch was also very nice and didn't make me nervous like the instructors at the DMV have in the past. Even the people on the phones and in the office have been super helpful! For anyone thinking about using a driving school please use John's, they have been the absolute best!

I had paid for the new driver package in June of 2022 and started the first lesson about a week later. It had been about 2 years or so since I last attempted to drive, so I was unsure of my capability, but luckily I was able to ease into it fairly easily. We drove around river road area and a little bit towards Newtown Bypass as well, getting used to it all as we went. It was also a tad rainy so I made sure to compensate for that. With each of the 3 lessons I managed to get the basics down pretty easily thanks to the helpful instructors and how they were able to break it all down as we went, ESPECIALLY parallel parking, which I've been able to do pretty well after learning it and a couple practice runs! I had to wait a while to take the test since I had to renew my permit manually with the computer test due to it being 3 years since my last physical, but once I was back on the road practicing again I took my test just yesterday and did way better than I thought I would, and became a licensed driver in one go! So thank you to John's for helping to get me out there on the road and learn the right tips and tricks to know what to do! (TPT Testing Center Site #75009)

Site 75022 Pottsville , I already new how to drive I needed my test done with a smaller vehicle P.S a 1500 truck is not a good idea.. I highly recommend taking lessons and testing through johns. My instructor made me feel completely at ease during every lesson. Before I took lessons I was too nervous to even leave my development but my instructor Jen got me out of my comfort zone without pushing me to do anything I wasn’t quite ready for. John's Driving School (Berks #75021) gave my daughter the confidence and skills she needed to get her license. She waited until after college to get her permit, so she was older than most students. Their focus on safe driving with exposure to all conditions and types of driving (day, night, highway, city) gave her the experience she needed to succeed. She passed her test on her first try. Excellent instructor, and knowledgeable tester. Highly recommend.

Got the New Driver package for my teenager and was very impressed with the driving lessons and test. My child had about 30 hours going into the first of the professional lessons. The instructors were knowledgeable and professional, arriving promptly and approaching the training in an organized manner. They did a great job making sure my child was skilled in lane changes, highway driving and parallel parking, and made sure he had all the driving details for the driving test. On testing day, the driving test was right on time with a very calm and relaxed tester. Loved that we could use their car he had taken lessons with. Only criticism is the online drivers education platform they use. The lessons were pretty static and the tests had lots of typos. So impressed with the driving education we are looking at getting one of the Street Safe packages.

My mother had recently signed me up for John’s Driving school after I failed twice at the DMV. My parents understand that I knew what I was doing, I just was very nervous. One of the driving instructors took me and practiced parallel parking. Ken was his name. He taught me the right way, and I passed the parallel parking portion with flying colors. Then the on road part. When I went for my test, a man named Mitch gave me it. He was so nice and kept small talk with me as I took my test, which calmed me town. After failing twice I finally got my license. Thank you John’s Driving School (Site #75021). I 100% recommend.

I was a very nervous driver and avoided it as much as a could. My mom signed my up for 3 lessons with Jeanette “Jenny” Powers and she was incredibly patient, kind, understanding, the whole lot. I was incredibly prepared for the test and have gained so much confidence in my driving skills thanks to Jenny. She was fun to have conversations with while driving and made the whole experience super enjoyable. I took my test with Mitch and he was incredible as well; very patient and kind. Mitch let’s you take your time with parking and getting through their parking lot. 100% recommend practicing with Jenny and I’m sure Mitch would be a delight as well. John’s Driving School was well worth the money.

I avoided driving most of my life but I found it necessary to get a license in my 50's. I was very nervous about driving. I tried another company for lessons and realized quickly it wasn't a good fit for me. I found John's I Can Drive and had lessons with Mack and Ken. They listened to my concerns, took them seriously and quickly put me at ease. They were both very patient and gave clear instructions in a very timely fashion. They were able to take me out of my comfort zone without pushing me over the edge during lessons which I really needed. Thank you Mack and Ken! I also found the comprehensive evaluation I received via email after each lesson to be invaluable. I took my drivers test with John's. The examiner saw how nervous I was and tried to put me at ease. He also gave very clear, precise directions. While I did not pass the first time(nerves) I did pass and am now a licensed driver! The lesson my daughter had with Jenn was very beneficial. Every interaction on the phone was pleasant and professional. The driving test with Jason was the best part. He helped my daughter not be nervous and by relaxing was able to perform the way we all knew she could. After 3 failed tests with rude DMV personnel she passed. Although I felt uncomfortable with one instructor (I had 3), the school and rest of the staff are great! Very friendly. The 2 instructors I had were great JT and Jeninfer were super chilled and easy to ride with. Two days before my test I was practicing and the owner Jason gave me some tips on the parallel parking. My husband & I decided to enroll our daughter in John's Driving School to best prepare her for her driver's license. We're so happy that we did. We went with the 6 hours behind-the-wheel course. Her instructor, Ken Dalton, was a pro! He was always right on time for pick-ups, clear and concise in his instructions and kept us in the loop with our daughter's progress. After each lesson, we received an email, which detailed exactly what was covered and scored her on each skill. Our daughter finished the course with the knowledge and confidence needed to be a safe driver...which is exactly what we hoped for.

I failed my drivers test at PennDOT and was fortunately able to get a test a week later at John’s! I never did any lessons with John’s but they did not fail to help me through the whole process. The lady at the window (if only I knew her name), was so kind. Did not make me nervous or anything. Mitch, the testing instructor, was so clear and thorough throughout my test. He made sure I breathed, and was relaxed. He was a huge portion of why I was not nervous while testing.

John’s driving school is the best ! I had just 2 classes with Ken and he literally taught me how to parallel park within 30 minutes . I couldn’t believe it since this is something I had been struggling with forever ! He also helped me with my fear of driving on the highway .. He was so patient with me and told A LOT of jokes which helped calm my nerves. Thanks so much Ken !! I took my test with the driving school and it was the best decision I could’ve made .. my instructor was Mitch and he was awesome ! He was so polite and had such a great personality which made the test so much easier . He must’ve saw how nervous I was because he kept reminding me to just breathe lol before I knew it I was getting my permit stamped because I’m now a licensed driver !!! I don't think I'd ever be on the road without John's Driving School! My instructor was JT and I don't think I could have gotten a better instructor. He not only gave me the confidence I needed but made everything very relaxed. JT was also very understanding and I never once felt judged. You could tell he knew what he was doing. JT honestly cares about his students! Also, shout out to Andrew for testing me! His instructions were super clear and he made you feel at ease during such a stressful time. Definitely worth the money whether you're taking lessons or the test.

Wonderful experience. Very accommodating they picked up my my son from home took them out for their lesson then drops them off at the end of the lesson. Very convenient. Less stress on me dropping off for lesson and picking back up after a two hour lesson. I was really happy that they were able to administer his exam rather wait in line at the dmv. My sons instructors Jenny and bill were great! One more thing they gave a driving evaluation after each lesson sent to my email. The evaluation informed me of his strengths and weaknesses. John's is great, throughout my 3 lessons I learned alot about driving. I had Jenny and Julie and they helped me do everything from turning on the wipers to how to drive on the highway. Even during the drivers exam the examiner was giving me tips on how to improve on what I already knew how to do. All in all, If you want to learn how to drive go to John's.

We had a great experience and would highly recommend John’s Driving School! Spoke with Meredith on the phone, who was extremely friendly, professional and patient with us as we had many questions. Our daughter had 3 lessons with Julie, who was FANTASTIC! She managed to calm a nervous new driver and teach her everything she needed to know. She also took time after each lesson to communicate to us what they covered and what she should practice. We saw a huge improvement in her driving after her three lessons. Lastly, scheduling the driver’s test was easy and we were able to get an appointment very quickly. Tony, the gentleman who administered our daughter’s test was also wonderful at calming her down with a little humor. Overall a 5 star experience!

These people are the best. My 17 year old son has been practicing with me for months. John's gave him 1 lesson prior to taking the test. The instructor went over every exact skill he would need to know for the test. He took his test 6 days after the lesson. He scored perfectly. He was so prepared and it totally lessened his jitters. You can take the test right at their school on Trenton Rd in Fairless Hills. The lesson was reasonably priced and the test was only $99. The guy who gave the exam was very nice and joked around with us. It was an excellent experience and I highly recommend you take at least 1 lesson with John's, if not more. Pete was my instructor for one session and he did an excellent job - I would recommend him to anyone thinking of taking a lesson. I didn’t get anything out of our lesson besides so much more anxiety about driving than I had before. Update 9/9/2020: I pass my driving test with flying colors... I took it with this driving school. I had 4 lessons with Joe and it was amazing! I've never drive a car in my life before and now I even go in to 95 without any problem. He gave me tips and techniques to know how to turn and park, he went over every detail on my driving and helped me to easy on the brake and gas, how to turn the steering wheel, change lanes, etc.. his patience is of a saint, and in every lesson I got 2 whole hours of actual driving (he would give me the tips as I'm driving or just stop for less than a minute to explain what was next). He would talk to you if it makes you more comfortable or put music if it helps you relax; his professionalism is outstanding! Every cent paid was absolutely worth it. After every lesson I'll have a summary of skills, how I'm doing them, and recommendations, which were absolutely crucial for me to practice during the week. I'm really grateful, thank you Joe! The instructor was very encouraging with my teenage driver. The 6 hours behind the wheel with a different voice from mine but harping on the same concepts of safety, awareness, and attentiveness were key to giving her confidence and a solid foundation to be a safe and non-distracted driver. As a B-day gift for my daughter I paid for 3 lessons… Sadly, those lessons were before COVID-19 and then things were shut down. Here we are a year and a half later and it’s her bday again and this time she said she wanted to get her license as a gift to herself. We paid the $99 for the test and she remembered just about everything they taught. I was beyond impressed with the way she remembered the tips they give her for parallel parking. The instructors here are Grade A, friendly and you can tell they are genuinely invested in your child getting their license as much as you are. My instructor for my first and third lessons was Jenny, and working with her was an absolute pleasure. In just the first lesson alone she helped me go from wicked nervous to somewhat comfortable at the wheel. During my third lesson she taught me how to parallel park and run the course that is taken during the driving exam, and helped me get both down pat in a matter of an hour. During my second lesson though, Anthony was my instructor, and he was quite the teacher too. He helped me get over my immense fear of the highway, and also majorily improved my turning and stopping skills. He also taught me perpendicular parking, and with his tips it almost felt like second nature by the end of our lesson. Thanks for everything Jenny and Anthony! Let me start out by saying I'm 43 and because my license was expired for a year I had to start from scratch to get my license reinstated. I called John’s and I was able to take the on the weekend. The examiner was very nice and even made some jokes given I'm slightly older than the normal test-takers. They are very professional, efficient and definitely watch as you parallel park and go through the course. The price was very affordable, $99.00 if you have your own car. I highly recommend Johns if you want to take your driver’s test quickly and so more want to wait for availability at PennDOT.

The school went into great depth about road safety and the correct way to handle a vehicle. I am happy to announce that I recently passed my Driver License Test with little to no difficulty. One of the best things that I could've done for my son was to get him the lessons. He was able to learn do much more than I couldve taught him. Being a single mom I needed the extra help and he was able to learn from different individuals. By having the instructors come to the house to get him for the lessons I was able to have some more free time available to me. Through the 30 hour theory course my son was able to understand some of the laws and the functions of the car better. The driving test was more relaxing to my son since he didn't have the horrible anticipation of having to wait in any lines. Scheduling everything with the front office was a breeze too. John's is a great company with excellent communication to the parents about their children's progress too. I will absolutely have my daughter go through lessons with John's also. ZERO COMPLAINTS.

My son went through the driving school classes and testing. He is now a licensed driver. But let me start at the beginning. I signed him up in mid March. I think we all know where this story is going. I always knew that he would get his lessons as soon as it was safe to do so. The car was cleaned before he got in. Masks were worn by the instructor and my son. Very professional. The only criticism I had was one instructor ate her lunch during his lesson. Not my favorite, but with back to back students I guess you do what you can. The written evaluations were terrific. The reminders and office staff were great. My daughter and now my son are graduates.

Hi! Okay so I'm Kenzie. I'm 16, I've been a pretty good driver if I say so myself. I got signed up with J.T. and I'm really happy that I got him. J.T. was confident in me, and made sure I did everything right and that I bounced right back. He taught me how to drive defensively and how to be a safe driver. I was mostly worried for parallel parking but it was super simple. I got a paper from the school that had the directions in complete detail. We went down to Philly in the North East neighborhoods, we had some crazy people down there. J.T. kept me safe and made sure I kept bouncing back. I met other instructors and some of the examiners and they are all super genuine people. They want to see the best and they want you to get your license and become a good driver. If I would be able to take classes again I would totally do it. It was so fun and educational and I feel super comfortable driving now. They worked with me to build my confidence in my driving and were very cooperative in working around my schedule to find times to fit lessons in for me. I taught my daughter the basics and she was pretty comfortable but then she asked if she could further her preparation with John's. I am really really glad that we did. I have been driving for years (well, actually decades) and there are things that I just do from habit, maybe not following the rules 100% , for instance, where exactly to stop at a stop sign... ?? things like that. They gave her all of the correct information and believe me, now she knows. (And tells every time I do something incorrectly!) They also had good tricks and tips for parking, little things to make it easier to remember. She had 3 different instructors, but I think you can take all your lessons with same person, if your prefer. They were all good but Anthony was AWESOME! He boosted her confidence and she was actually a better driver after her lesson with him. It is worth the money, especially if you want to let someone else suffer through merging onto a highway for the first time with a teenager!

I was hesitant to sign my son up. I did some research and the cost of the school (30 hour online course, 3 - 2 hour driving lessons & driving exam) seemed expensive compared to the savings you get from the insurance company. I think it was more than 2 years before I would get the money back so we decided not to do it. It came time for his test and I was just not comfortable with him driving yet so I bit the bullet and signed him up. Let's just say it was the best money I ever spent and I regret not signing him up earlier. He is now a confident driver and I am confident with him out on the roads. I took the "new driver" pkg and finished a few days ago. I think the staff are very good. I think that 30 hrs of theory is too much, they have a lot of information that in my opinion, is not vital to know how to drive (like the coverage of the different insurance), You can lose interest about the reading, I think 20 hr of theory is more than enough and take the remaining 10 hr and put it into practice. I also think that the charge of almost $100 to repeat the exam is exorbitant. Maybe if one person is only going to take the exam ok, but for a person who takes the entire course? it is too expensive.

[EDITED] I've held strong anxiety about driving for over 20 years. I've gotten away with not driving by living in cities ...until I had a child and decided I wanted to move out to the country! Bill Watkins was FANTASTIC to work with over the course of my many lessons. My driving fear morphed into driving love in only a few weeks. I had never expected such a turnaround. And I give much credit to his particular approach with me -- a respectful, friendly, peer-to-peer approach that I think was very appropriate, and very helpful, for someone who's not a teenager but nearly 40. He in effect brought the anxiety down so I could focus naturally on learning and safety. I highly recommend Bill. [EDIT] Now winding down my lessons, today I had my final session with JT Milorey, whom I highly recommend, too. JT's approach with me combined wonderful warmth and encouragement with absolute vigilance to safety and road rules. This ensured that I learned a ton about the mistakes I'm prone to and the errors I might unknowingly be making while also staying calm and knowing he's totally rooting for me. Finally, the main office was super-easy to work with on scheduling, etc.

When I was reading reviews I noticed that many people think that this company is “gold digging” and fail you just to get more money out of you, but I’ve noticed that this is just false. I never took lessons here, and I had zero ties to this place (I only took my test here). My examiner was Jen she was so kind and calmed me down right before the test. The test itself is very easy and Jen was a very fair examiner. Not to mention her dog, a blood hound mix, is the cutest thing on earth :))) GO TO THIS PLACE FOR YOUR TEST!!!

Mitch was my examiner at the Doylestown location. Very nice and professional. Unfortunately I failed at the very end but plan to retest in a few days. Highly recommend you use this service if you are as anxious as I am to finally get licensed. Just know that pass or fail you pay the fee. And if you retest you have to pay again. Praying I do well the next go round. Ok.. for the 2nd test I had Jay at Fairless Hills. Again, very nice and professional. I failed yet again due to a rolling stop. Tips for the experienced drivers, Take it back to the basics!!! I learned how to drive 16yrs ago and I'm use to driving like your average driver. Remember to make full stops, watch your speed, and take it easy. It's not a race. The examiners can totally tell a new driver from an experienced driver. Try not to talk as much so you can focus on the task at hand. PASSING. Please pray that I pass on my 3rd time as I am 9 months pregnant officially and a anxious hot mess. This is a personal goal of mine and I know I got this. Just need to take it easy and focus. Will update in a few days :) Update: I passed. Impeccable service and staff. Please know that the team at Johns are there to support you. They’re very fair and honestly want you to do well. Ignore the negative comments and give Johns a try. You will not be disappointed.
