The school has a great and professional driving instructor. My instructor was Alex and I only took a few classes with him because of my busy schedule. He gets all the information you need and even the one I can use when I pass the driving test. I pass my driving test on my first try. I recommend this school and Alex as your driving instructor.

I took a couple of driving lesson and the best instructor I had was Luis Cruz he was patient and made sure that you understood what to do step by step. He didn't make you feel uncomfortable or make you feel like you didn't know what to do. He made sure to have your conflict up. Cross Way Driving School made sure that if I didn't like something they will help solve it as best as they could. I would definitely recommend it this place because they do try to to help you feel comfortable and make sure to give you the best instructor. I did fail my road test the first try but then I took some more classes and then finally passed my road test so thank you Cross Way Driving School for your effort and help.

I've never been completely comfortable behind the wheel, but that all changed when I enrolled at Crossway Driving School. Crossway was the third driving school that I decided to take a chance in being that the others that I took lessons in were subpar and would always cancel my lessons without notice and I'm so glad that I went with them. A close friend recommended me to this school and I will be forever grateful. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Especially Helen the receptionist. I'm a very forgetful person when it comes to appointments so I appreciated the follow up texts, calls and reminders for my 5 hour class and all my lessons. I've had 3 instructors total but my main instructor was Luis he was very funny and made me super comfortable behind the wheel. Raoul was calm and nice as well. I like the fact that the 5 hour class was virtual and that I didn't need to leave the comfort of my home to attend. But, I will note that Crossway does keep the driving class certificate in their possession so if you're looking to take the driving test on your own or elsewhere then you must pick it up on your own. I chose to let them hold on to the certificate and have them give it to the examiner when it came time to have the road test. I started my lessons on 11/3 & passed my test on 11/30. I highly recommend this school.

The staff was very helpful and kind. Alex was my instructor and was a good instructor. He was very patient with me and helped me with my anxiety and nervousness throughout my lessons. For someone who was a terrible driver at first, I passed my road test on my first try. If you need to pick an instructor, pick Alex!

Thank you Crossway Driving School located on 167th Street the staff Brandon/ Geovani/ Helen and those who have assisted me with obtaining my driver's license. The school and its instructors were very supportive with teaching students how to drive in NYC, however, I do have concerns about the communication (information regarding dates and times agreed upon verbally is not delegated to other staff), last-minute updates and notifications, and how they allowed a driver to escort a student for a driving test and the escort did not have the proper documentation which prevented the student from completing the exam. Just ensure to get your money's worth of education and when something does not seem right make sure to stand your ground. I may recommend this school to individuals only if my concerns were addressed for ongoing admissions for future drivers.

I had the best experience at cross way, I 100% recommend it. My instructor Joshua was great, I needed the most help with parking and at the end he taught me how to park and boosted my confidence in doing it. I’m so thankful for having him as my instructor, he’s the nicest person and did exactly what he had to do. Thanks to his help I passed my exam, I was really nervous and kept telling him that I wouldn’t be able to pass but he boosted my confidence and I’m very much thankful for it. I went to Crossway with very little confidence and by the end of my lessons, I was able to pass my driving exam. My instructor, Luis, was very patient and knowledgeable. This school has great driving instructors.I like to have different instructors to learn the best each of them has to offer. Alex, Carlos, Cristal are excellent. The last day II had tzel. She was incredible and took the time to explain how to do things properly and even gave me some extra suggestions. When I thought I knew it all, she surprised me. I honestly enjoyed my experience with this driving school. In my opinion, this is the best driving school in the south Bronx. I was a first-time driver, never driven before, and my driving instructor was Alex. He was very patient and knowledgeable when teaching me. The receptionist is awesome, she helped me get a road test as soon as possible and is very attentive. Andy was my instructor, he teaches well and is very patient and calming. (Sad to say he is no longer with the company). I got a 10 lesson package including a road test, car, 5-hour safety course. After two failed attempts, and 3 different driving schools Crossway being the last and best, I was finally able to pass my road test.

What a great experience I had with Cross Way Driving School @ 167th. Nayeli, the secretary, was amazing. She when out of her way to accommodate my crazy schedule. Her positive vibes and optimism always made me feel like failing the road test wasn’t even an option. I am especially grateful for her getting me the road test appointment in the morning and day that I requested. It made all the difference! I began my lessons with Alex. He accessed the skills I was coming in with on day one. I loved that he acknowledged the little I did know and continued from there. It gave my confidence the boost it needed. And while I was quite nervous, his calm and professional demeanor was reassuring and helped me relax enough to enjoy the learning process. I continued and finished my lessons with Gerson. If Alex succeeded in getting me comfortable behind the wheel, then Gerson succeeded in molding me into a driver beyond the road test. He listened to my concerns and made sure that we practiced and practiced. I ended each session feeling so much more sure of my self and driving skills. The tips he gave me made such a huge difference on the road test. There were a few moments when I caught myself thinking: remember what Gerson said, if this happens do that to fix it. Then there is Angie, whom took me to the road test. She was so positive and encouraging and amazing. She shared her own experience, she gave us some last minute tips that I took to heart (and I believe sealed the deal) but most importantly she pointed out some things that most students made mistakes on and how to avoid getting points. Funny enough, everything she pointed out I was able to avoid during the road test. Great school. Great staff. Worth every penny.

This is the place to be if your looking to learn how to drive with no prior knowledge of the road, they will set you up with a good foundation of what to expect and give you good insight when it comes to learning the rules of the road or when your taking your driving lessons.With out their help and assistance I would have never been able to pass my road test on the first try so if your a New Yorker with no driving experience Cross Way Driving School is the best one for you.

This has been an excellent experience! I had Ramon and Audie as driving instructors and both were amazing! Very professional, personable and patient. The instructors here want all students to do well and provide a great supportive environment, right down to the ladies in the office. I also took my 5 hour class here as well, which was great. Cross Way Driving School did a great job of preparing me for my road test! My instructors, Amado and Luis, were very attentive and aware of what I needed to improve on and gave me great advice to help me pass the test. Amado was very clear with his instructions and helped me a lot and Luis tweaked and solidified the things I still needed improvement in, gave me a good wake up call and I was able to get it done! Even the escort to the road test, Henry, gave me really good pointers. BEST DRIVING SCHOOL HANDS DOWN!!! One of the best experiences learning to drive, ever. Staff was very helpful with scheduling and the five hour class provided much helpful information that was new to me. Took my driving lesson with Francisco, who’s a great, friendly, and patient instructor who has some tricks up his sleeve to ace your parking and three point turns which are helpful for the overall road test. The good man is a professional and has full confidence in his students to pass!!! After taking the road test two times at a previous school, I finally passed with the help of crossway driving school! I signed up for the fifteen lesson package because I didn’t know how to drive AT ALL!!! My first day behind the wheel I was so nervous, but my instructor - Chris M. was great. He was very calm and took the time to explain everything before I got behind the wheel. It wasn’t as bad as I imagined it would be but I’m sure that’s because Chris was there giving me pointers in a way that made sense to me. Once my fifteen lessons were done I took the road test this past Wednesday (5.23.18) and I passed! I passed on the first try. I just kept everything Chris taught me in my head and the test wasn’t hard. I just want to say if you are looking for a driving school Cross Way is the one to go to! They always called me to confirm my lessons the day before and I had the best teacher ever! Thanks Chris (and Cross Way) you guys are the best!

Cross way driving school is a great school if you are trying attain a license or just practicing your skills in general. I signed up for package 4 which resulted in me passing the road test on my first attempt. My instructor's name was Margarita Roa or Margie for short. She is an excellent instructor who wants her students to pass. I recommend her as a teacher to anyone because she's knows the driving rules and guidelines on top of that she has a nice personality (funny). As a first time driver I was very nervous to drive on these new york city streets but she made me feel relax during my lessons. She was please to hear that I passed. The office at E167th Street is very organized, Lilly is the admin there and she is always on top of scheduling and making sure that I kept my appointments. I did not have any miscommunication at this office, so it is also recommended to sign up at that office. I even signed up for more classes after passing my road test. If you are nervous don't be, they teach you everything you need to know and more. The road test is 10-15 minutes. Drive safe!

LETS JUST SAY I PASSED THE ROAD TEST ON MY FIRST TRY ! Luz García was my driving instructor and I genuinely LOVE HER. She was extremely patient, gave me the best tips, and made sure I was well prepared before the test. I would recommend her all the way. I took the package that included four classes, but I would recommend more if you aren't practicing with a car at home. The receptionist made the perfect choice of instructor.

I passed my road test on my first try with only 16 lessons. I couldn't have achieved this accomplishment without the help of my instructor, Christopher. Thank you so much Chris! You taught me so much and you definitely had a lot of patience. Haha I learned the rules of the road, turning the steering wheel, parking, avoiding solid lines, blind spots, 3 point turns and more. I never had the chance to get behind the wheel prior to taking these classes. Christopher taught me well and made me a safe and better driver. The 45 minute lessons feel like they go by quick, so I suggest to learn as much while also taking all the feedback given by your instructor. Make yourself a better driver. We need more of those in NY. I definitely recommend this driving school. 👌

Great school! Went the extra mile! Passed on the first try. EDIT (Changing from 5 to 3): I was prompted by the instructor who took me to the test to write the review as soon as I passed. Now that some time has passed, I can write a more honest review. I scheduled 5 classes, as I believe I'm a fast learner. The school did a great job at really getting me comfortable on the road a driving in a straight line/making turns. Knowing that I had 5 classes, I thought the instructor would introduce parking/U-turns sooner, but he waited until the last class and it was maybe for a total of 5 mins saying "parking is easy, parking is easy". The night before the exam, I rented a car with my husband, and we practiced parking and U turns over and over and over... for hours. I can confidently say that without this extra practice, I probably would not have passed. I wish the instructor planned my classes better, and listened to my needs. If i said I needed more practice parking, then please listen as i'm the one paying. Thanks!

I think the receptionists are very helpful in making appointments and rescheduling. I dealt with two female instructors and they are both good except that they are not consistent on how to do parallel packing. The instructors' overly focus on Parallel packing and broken u-turns leave out a vital component of the test which is observing the signs, symbols and observations. I will recommend instructors using different locations for their lessons and teaching all the rules necessary for the road test.

The driving instructor Christopher is amazing and knows what he is doing. If you take him you will pass, but there is this instructor jose who if you take you will fail. I had only 2 classes with him and he said all I learned was wrong and gave me bad altenitives to what I learned. He was the sole reason I failed my road test on 45 points due to bad turning and steering control. He told me i was doing wrong and I follwed him and because of what he said, I failed. but when I did one class with my previous instructor Christopher, I passed so i say go here and take chris and you will pass. don't, i reapeat dont take jose unless you like taking an L like meek mills or drake now and days.

This is my second time doing drivers ED, the first being in high school, and I have to admit it was very nerve wracking, but I found the instructors at crossway very helpful with both teaching you techniques and making you more calm on the road. The cars they use are very easy to drive as well, and small enough to control without feeling cramped. I took my road test twice, the first time scheduled through my package with the school and the second through the DMV. I was excessively anxious my first go’round which I think most people are so I did fail lol. However, my second time around was much easier and I was able to apply all the techniques and methods I learned through the school. I’ll be coming back to do my defensive driving course here as well in the near future. All in all, if you’re looking for a school that will take their time, has flexibility, and assist with problematic areas like turning, steering, etc... Crossway driving school is the way to go!
