Reviews of Rider Academy
Would highly recommend if you have no prior motorcycle experience, and even if you do. They really want you to be road ready and know how to ride a motorcycle safely. I had no prior experience, and was not a quick learner. I was lucky enough to have two of the teachers at Riders Academy and both were great. Extremely knowledgeable, but able to teach beginners in an engaging and fun manner. They go the extra mile to make sure you succeed, which I really appreciated. You'll experience a higher level of service than other options available. Very happy I decided to learn with Rider's Academy.
Just finished the BRC here with Rich as our coach and had such a wonderful experience! I have severe anxiety and ADD and Rich was always so patient, kind and thorough with answering questions and taking his time to explain to ensure we were safely learning each exercise! Everyone was extremely positive and empowering, making it a great first time motorcycle experience! If you're on the fence whether or not to learn, don't hesitate as if I can do it, most anybody can!
Prior to taking the BRC I had no experience driving a motorcycle. I left with my endorsement. Course was exactly what I expected. It was difficult but I left feeling more confident with my skills and risk assessment. I recommend this course to absolutely anyone. The instructor was informative and direct with instruction. He was also very helpful on breaks with my many questions about purchasing a bike for the first time.
Some people in the class thought he was too harsh at times and that he was "picking" on certain people. I do not feel this was the case, though. The point of this course is to safely learn to ride. The endorsement is a bonus, not the goal. He is not there to hold your hand and make you feel warm and fuzzy. Safety is priority #1. Some people were 'sensitive' to that style of coaching and were adverse to it. He is there to teach and direct, not be your best friend or cheerleader. If you listen and follow directions you will have zero problems, and the course will be enjoyable. Keep in mind there are other people in the course with you waiting to learn and practice. If you aren't paying attention it slows the whole groups progress. Come prepared and be on time.
Thank you so much Rich, I appreciated your coaching style and the wealth of information you freely and enthusiastically offered throughout the course. I will surely be returning for future classes to improve my skills.
The basic rider course is great for people who have never sat on a bike or people who currently are riding. The teacher(s) is wonderful and the training is hard but accessible for all skill sets. I personally struggled both days pretty bad but the class mates and teacher were encouraging and helped keep my spirits up. Take the class with a positive attitude, show up on time and give it your best try and you will be fine. 6 out of the 8 people were able to pass the test in my class. Pack gear for every type of weather. The first day we learned to ride it started raining, we were still outside on the bikes for 5 hours that day. Overall I’m super happy with the experience and would recommend it to anyone.
I took basic bike rider class from the riders academy. Rich is very experienced and amazing instructor he brings so much energy the mood is uplifted the entire training. I could not believe what I learned at the end of day one.
They have very good bikes selection.
The trainer was amazing. It was fun and safe and simple! Thank you Rider Academy! Plus they had KTMs with ABS. Such a great starter bike and not intimidating at all. Braaaap!
I had a fabulous experience at Rider Academy! Rich was a wonderful instructor, very knowledgeable and clear instructions, with great feedback and a sense of humor to boot. I had a great bike to ride, perfect for learning, and the entirety of the on-site instruction is on a bike. Would recommend highly to anyone looking to improve their riding skills.
Took the basic rider course, and it was excellent. Lizz is a fantastic instructor. Our group ranged from experienced riders to absolute beginners. I thought the class was very accessible, and I was impressed by how much Lizz taught us in such a short time. Highly recommend.
This course is great for riders of all skill levels. My instructor Jed was fantastic - funny, laid back and extremely knowledgeable. Classroom activities were engaging and practice on the course was broken up into easy bites and thoroughly demonstrated beforehand so I never felt intimidated. Even with no prior riding experience, if you show up on time and with a good attitude, you can leave with all the skills you need to begin riding and confidently too!
This academy is awesome for learning to ride or for improving your riding skills. Instructors are very knowledgeable and experienced. Thank you Rider Academy
