I have had 3 tickets over the last 10 years and each time I get one, I use Comedy Driving. It's an incredibly easy and funny course. You have 120 days to complete it and if it times out, which I did not know this, you can call customer service and they can extend it. Great tip! I totally recommend using this course if you find yourself looking for a driving course.

This was much less painful than I had imagined. I even managed to stay awake the entire 6 hours! Britt Vasicek is an angel and quite entertaining. The fast pace and frequent breaks made a long class very manageable. My only complaint would be a few of the videos seemed outdated, though they may be mandated by the state and not the fault of this particular business. Although I will never get another ticket and, hence, never need this class again, if it were to somehow happen, I would choose Comedy Driving again.

Larry was very informative, he also allowed everyone to ask questions and tell their small personal stories of why the traffic is bad in Houston. He has this little turn table that he occasionally kick on with these funny songs that made the class not Soo bad to be in on a Saturday morning thanks a lot Larry!

Ray, the instructor, was very knowledgeable of the subject matter and of course "very funny". He had a very good mood and his jokes were good! but, at the same time, he was strict with the times allocated for each activity and course information. I really enjoyed the class. I think everyone should take this class every two years to remind us about the dangers and the seriousness of what driving is all about. Thanks Ray for presenting a very interesting course and making the time go by fast!

RAY was the instructor today and he did a great job keeping the whole class of 25 focused. He is funny and sharp, and the instructional material and videos were useful and practical. Except for a couple of technical glitches, the class was great. Ray ensures 6 hours goes by fast!

Had to take a class to get a ticket dismissed. It's been years since I've had to go to one of these classes and the thing I remember the most is how boring they can be. This time though our instructor Ray did a great job keeping us entertained and laughing while he went over the information. Another great thing about this place is they won't cancel a class if only a few people show up, they still take care of you. Thanks again Ray for making this a fun class!

You could see that he is really wanting people to enjoy the class but also the seriousness of having knowledge to keep you safe as well as others. I am very pleased with my experience. My instructor, Demetria Dixon, was informative, relaxed, quick-witted, and funny. The six hour course proceeded at a steady clip without a lull. I learned new information and was reminded of things I had not considered for some time. All of the videos were engaging and current. Some were simply informative, others included personal stories with an emotional impact, and the many clips of accidents and near misses served as entertaining cautionary reminders. I would recommend this course.

He was fantastic, I did learn a few things but his flow and delivery of class instruction, mixed with jokes that played into what we were learning was the best way to ever do this. 6 hours went by quickly and left in a good mood. Walking in, the room was a bit of a shock. I was expecting a classroom not a windowless. airless room covered in graffiti. But within minutes of Ray starting the class it didn't matter. He is funny and efficient and I would definitely recommend the class-environment as a painless, even enjoyable way to get through the material. It made what could have been a dreary experience into a positive day of learning.

I have taken comedy defensive driving before and was miserable. This experience wasn't bad at all. I actually enjoyed the day. Ray Barnett is a great instructor. If you didn't get 100 on the test, you were having an out of body experience. He was very good at making sure we knew all the answers and were actively paying attention. If I had to do this again, I'd choose his class for sure.

Had a 2 day class on 3/14/17 and 3/15/17. Instructor was Ray. He was good. This was my first time taking the class. I have dismissed my tickets before by taking online classes. The instructor and the comedy class made it much easier than the online versions. More efficient and productive.

On the whole, Ray was very good and explained the material well. However, when he wasn't instructing he really wasn't very friendly nor approachable. I don't know whether he was having a bad day, but he seemed like he "phoned it in" in that he was essentially reciting the material with his eyes closed and was on auto-pilot. Aside from a little kidding around with people about their names and why they had to take the class, he wasn't really that funny. Honestly, it felt to me as if he was in need of a vacation and if you're smart you'll let him recharge because he is a very good instructor and taught me things I hadn't known before. Definitely worthy of the $5 bonus but I can't say that the experience was 4+. This should not be taken as a bad review but if I'm honest it is not a great one.

I just took the classes on 07/12/2015 it was a Sunday and I was not ready to spent 6 hours of day doing this class but, I am happy I did... the class was well interacted and the instructor (Coleman) did a great job doing this class. it did not feel like 6 hours at all. I really hope to put in practice what I learned during this class but, if I have to take them again I will definitely come back to this class. thank you Mr. Coleman

Highly recommended. I of course left my course until last minute. Called these guys late Thursday night and they were very helpful. I paid for next day delivery. Hustled to complete the 6 hour online course Friday while on flights and even though I don't think I finished before 6pm Houston time they were still able to put my certificate in the mail and it arrive before 10am on Monday!! I was able to get it to the court before the Tuesday deadline. Good class, the cartoons make it so much better. So much better than other online courses out there that have you reading and reading and reading text. Comedy Driving gets 5 stars from me!!

This was my second class with Ray Barnett. I also took it with my wife [she is Chinese] a few years ago for insurance purposes. Ray has an emotionally honest quality that enables the students to feel as ease with him. He strikes a challenging balance between the serious nature of driving [particularly in Houston] and how to have some fun with it considering most of us are there as a second choice at best. The class did not drag and I thought some of the newer power point selections enhanced the presentation somewhat. If I have to return, I think I will ask when Ray is instructing. Thanks for reading. This is my second time, after 16 months I got a speeding ticket on Westpark at Wilcrest for the second time at the same time. They offer great service, very convenient hours and very entertaining. Coleman is an incredible instructor mixing humor with fact. I have taken this class before with other instructors and nothing comes close to the presentation that Coleman did. The time flew by and when it was over I did not mind spending 6 hours on a summer Sunday with Coleman. Took a class with Ray. Pluses: the class was informative and the time went by fast. Minuses: there was nothing comical about the class. Most of the videos were depressing and /or tried to scare you. The stand up comedy videos that they play at the break were not funny, just annoying. Ray is no comic. Oh well.... mission accomplished, fulfilled my court order to get my ticket dismissed.

Best place in town to take defensive driving! Ray was my instructor in 2013 and again in 2018, and he is hilarious. Course is well constructed and keeps your attention. Adam Komar was an informative, entertaining instructor. I took notes during the class, and there were facts he mentioned that I was completely unaware of. I am glad I took this course rather than an online course. Someone told me the online course was not a great experience. Facts I learned will definitely make me a safer driver and prevent my getting a ticket for something I didn't know was an offense before I heard it today.

Comedy Driving is a great place to complete your defensive driving course. Variety of classes offered to suit any schedule: 2-day classes or one-day, 6-hour class with breaks. I went for the Monday 6-hour class, and was able to get home in time to start my afternoon of piano lessons (half hour away). Dwight, my instructor, covered everything and then some, in an easy to understand manner. He reviewed key points to make sure we would not forget. Brought up some interesting situations and clarified laws both old and new. Class comments, questions, and discussion were welcomed, yet he did a great job keeping us timely and on target. Friendly; nice, casual environment.

Comedy Driving was a very informative class, presented lots of statistics about issues and safety activity for motor vehicles. Great for learning all the most recent updates for laws and legislation involving motor vehicles use and safety. Ray did a great job of keeping the class moving and entertaining at the same time. It really didn't have the feel of a stuffy boring classroom setting, there was laughter and fun interactions with students and teacher. I would recommend Comedy Driving to anyone and they have qualified staff to take care of all your court needs in one place, notary, driving records, the class and your certificate. If you don't want the hassle of taking time to do all those things, in one day at Comedy Driving everything is complete when you walk out the door.

Had a wonderful time and learned so much! I have been living out of the country for a couple of years and got a ticket. The officer told me that he wasn't going to court, but I felt I needed a refresher anyway. I am so glad that I did! My instructor Ray was the best! Time really flies when you are having fun! Everything you need is right there for you. You can get all the copies and documents you need in one place for a low cost. During your break there is a great BBQ place next door that has grilled steaks, ribs, sausage, etc... Ask for DR in the back. Tell him Ms. Brown sent you!

Although the online course is not really that funny. I truly appreciate the quickness of their service. I finished my course on Monday and received my Certificate on Wednesday without paying anything extra. Its good to know this company unlike some others wont just slack off just because you live in Houston and send you the paperwork just before their deadline. They seem to truly strike for good service.

I would highly recommend this company. Coleman's class was great, and the time went by really fast. I expected to just put in my 6 hours and get the ticket dismissed, but surprisingly, I left feeling like I benefitted from what was taught. Plus, he sets a really good example by staying hydrated throughout the whole class...just a tip though, buy a case of 24 man, you'll save a lot of money. I needed my certificate asap, and they arranged to have it delivered to where I work by 11 the next day..I was able to drop off everything to the court on my lunch break. Again, highly recommend this company, Coleman, and the next day delivery if you're stupid like me and waited until the last minute.

Ray was to the point, quick, thorough. Seems like he has organized his class in a way where the six hours could fly by easily. I appreciate the few longer breaks instead of a numerous amount of short five minute breaks. Ray seemed to understand the situations we were in and for someone who does this often the jokes didn't seem TOO rehearsed or awkward. I found them to be funny though rather quick and dry, but I did like them. The information was great and I learned a few things I didn't know going into the course which kept things interesting. The videos were relatively current so you aren't watching a bunch of dramatic PSAs from the early 90's. Instruction was fast. I went in with a lot of questions and kind of just played it by ear. He explains everything really fast through a slide show, and it's a bit confusing going in.. but I mean, I got through it. They ALSO offer a lot of options to get everything you need taken care of for court which I really appreciated. Affidavit stamped and signed. Driving Records printed there. Driving certificate with attention to the correct precinct and judge offered with quick quick delivery. I have court in the morning and managing all this junk through them made things incredibly easy and a lot less stressful and less boring than taking a course online and having to deal with all that other stuff separately. (Also, it looks like a grungy garage band practice space in there with all the sharpie and "h-town" purposefully marked on the wall ~aesthetic~ , but it kind of takes the edge off of having to be so proper. There's vending machines too.)

PLEASE NOTE: This is George Scott. I am borrowing my wife's gmail account to post this review. At 67 closing in on 68, spending six hours on a defensive driving course was not my idea of fun. My experience at Comedy Driving led by Ray our instructor was that even 'older dogs' need to be reminded that driving a vehicle is an awesome responsibility. It's not a 'gotcha' class designed to make you fail. It certainly is not stand-up comedy. It's a sobering reminder that lives are shattered and destroyed every day of every year because of foolish mistakes or callous indifference to personal responsibility. Ray's humor was his wit and his interaction with individuals during the class in a way that challenged us to pay attention. His humor never got in the way of or undermined the reality of the fact that I would not be in the class if I had not been careless but very lucky that my carelessness didn't kill or tragically injure someone. I am glad that I did not go the 'online' route of taking the class. There's something very productive to taking six hours out of one's life in the presence of others to remember those important lessons were taught when we were just teenagers getting our license for the first time. It was a good class; Ray was an effective leader of that class.

Plowed through SIX hours of defensive driving class today and while it could have been absolutely bland, tedious and boring--remarkably it wasn't like that at all thanks to our Comedy Defensive Driving instructor, Ray, at the Katy Freeway location, who kept the class lighthearted, steady-paced, and above all fun after what were at times very sobering topic discussions and short films. By the end of the class--thanks to Ray and Comedy Defensive Driving-- I had easily digested a large amount of information and enjoyed the learning process.

Better than online classes because of the humor. I've done 'em all: online—both video and text only—and in-class, and I will be coming back here next time I need defensive driving. Ray knows the material by heart, and the time goes as quickly as it can for a six-hour class because he keeps it funny. He asks questions throughout the class also, keeping you engaged. Besides refreshing what I do know, I learned that some of the stuff I thought I knew was actually incorrect. I like that they have a variety of times to choose from seven days a week: several 9-3 classes, a 12-6 class, which was really convenient for me because I am totally not a morning person, and two 3-hour classes so you can split that 6 hours into two easy classes you can take after work. You don't have to pre-register, just show up on time. They make it as easy as it can get.

Ray-Instructor Class was informative and we watched many videos that appeared outdated however they were relevant to driving in the Information Age. There was some humor. The instructor is very knowledgeable about city ordinances and state laws and made it applicable to our driving experience. I would recommend this course. I took a course before and they also informed the class of techniques to avoid collisions such as veering to the safe side of the road to avoid further collisions. These techniques weren't discussed but is still was informative and sort of a refresher. I only took the course to get the insurance discount. Hopefully that's the only reason I ever have to take!

I took Comedy Driving online on my phone. It was easy to navigate the website. I liked the humorous animated scenes it made the course go by quicker. I also liked how I could stop the course and pickup where I left off. I took the course in 5 days. You do have to push next after every section but that keeps you awake and alert. The running time clock per section was very helpful too. There are test questions after each section which are fairly easy to answer if you have watched the videos. I believe if I had not watched the videos I would have failed DD. I did get 2 questions wrong. Pay attention to the lane changing & passing lanes section. Couple of tricky questions & random questions thrown in so you do have to pay attention. You have 90 seconds to answer each question. I did like this course and would take it again. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be like when I took another online course 8 yrs ago. I did learn alot and didnt realize I forgot alot of the statistics. Even my younger kids watched it with me for a little while. So I give this course a big thumbs up.👍

I did the online course offered on their Web site and although convenient it had some technical issues. This course took me more than twice the stated time due to problems with videos and pages not loading or glitches in play back requiring me to reload. Before you blame my connection know we have high speed Internet and I regularly stream video and audio from a variety of sources with no problems to the device used for the course. In addition twice I answered questions correctly and received a please click the next button only to find the next button had not loaded, when I refreshed the page I was told I had to watch the video again. Several times I watched the complete video and clicked next but was told I had not been on the page long enough and I ended up having to rerun the entire video before it would allow to move on. Thankfully I had plenty of time to work through these problems. I also noticed my end of course survey review stating the exact same thing doesn't appear with the other surveys from the same day.

Did not attend in-person class, although person answered the phone on a Saturday and answered my questions. Took their online class. I don't have anything to compare it to, but I think the content was good. Most of it is Flash animation. There's also text with the animation, but I got everything I needed from the audio / animation - no need to read. There are also videos - their dated - but don't think that's a problem. Now, I did not laugh once, the content tries a little - but is not funny. With that said, I didn't mind it at all, watching it is effortless - and doesn't try too hard to be funny. The best part of this business - and the reason I am going to the trouble of writing a review - is they were the only one I found on the net that was very upfront and clear as to 1) what the FedEx expedite (overnight) fee would be 2) confirms it's AM services and 3) best of all - explains when it would get my certificate based on when I completed the course (for me a Sunday). Also, the fee for overnight ($25) is very reasonable compared to others. I only found it cheaper one place ($23) - but they were not clear if that was for AM service. This seems like a locally owned and operated business and I am happy about support that.

The online course itself is good enough. Its a typical defensive driving course with some mostly fairly lame humor thrown in. But, what really sets Comedy Driving apart is their cheap price for overnight delivery in Houston. My certificate arrived before 9am the next business day by courier.
