I found this Driving School via Google. I just needed to have a driving test somewhere. I didn't study there. Lakewood Driving School stated it was a stress-free place. I paid attention to the statement because I was about to have a driving test and felt a bit stressed. I didn't understand how can an exam be stress-free. I didn't pick this school because of the statement, it was just engraved in my memory. Booking via the website and walk-ins are available. Well, I can tell my exam was stress-free :)

$80 own car or $100 theirs for the driver's license road exam to get your license at the DMV with a valid permit, and valid/current vehicle registration and insurance if your vehicle. This is on the low end of prices for the license test and the usual price at several local schools. There are no DMV road tests in Colorado anymore that I am aware of. They seemed straightforward and book appointments, but also take walk-ins depending on availability. They take cards with no extra charge, unlike many schools who only take cash. The tester was straightforward and quite helpful with criticism after the test was over. I did not feel cheated, like I had at the driving test I took at another nearby school, KG International. A few things to note about the DMV: You cannot get your ID/permit/license and/or vehicle registration at every DMV location. There are vehicle registration locations and license locations, many near the other. The vehicle registration locations do not require an appointment. The license offices do. You can use their online calendar system to search for the soonest date nearest to you. If you failed your driving test at a school where you lost $70-$120 already, the DMV charges you another $15 for failing it when you get your license. Total was around $46, license and failed test. My permit was around $20. The DMV charge an extra $1 if you use a card. They don't make it easy. If you use your information for one appointment, you cannot use the same information for another. Additionally, you must cancel your current appointment using the appointment ID given only at the confirmation screen. For some bizarre reason, they've designed the confirmation email not to include your appointment ID. Be sure to note this if you are trying to book the soonest appointment before someone else does as you go through the list. The time slot will often disappear while you are trying to book it. The DMV website is not very good about telling you this has happened. You must return to the calendar page or the location page to book a new time slot. If you don't have a document, they can give you a piece of paper to return later that day with the document instead of rescheduling another appointment. Make sure to have that piece of paper with you when you return, though. It took me 9 visits to realize you don't have to text them when you arrive for your appointment and can probably use any number you choose instead of having to cancel your appointment with an ID you forgot to write down when confirming and hurriedly looking for the soonest one. Many Denver offices are booked several weeks in advance, like 3-6. Look around, or be willing to drive some distant distance for a same-day, or at least sometime soon, appointment. Many same day appointments are available, depending on your timing. If they actually gave people the ID in the confirmation email, which they also ask for, perhaps more would be available same-day, but the same day-appointments seem are seemingly delivered singularly from the people who have wrote that ID down and canceled. Pure luck. These are especially quick to be snatched up by others. Some offices are much busier than others. Some include the google maps section on how busy they are, many do not. Godspeed. D:

Amazing staff, instructors, and examiners. Right before the drive test i have received a small booklet to read over tips and pointers on how to pass. They really want you to pass and they care for you. Joyful experience, i can here twice for a drive test, for my wife and I. Both times the examiner was extremely pleasant, and after the test they explain to you what you can improve on. I watched as some people failed the drive test and how well the examiner explained to them what they can do for improvement and i was impressed on the amount of detail they go through. George is the best instructor, as someone who was in a bad car accident who had extra anxiety about driving I found George to be the best instructor for me. He gives good constructive advice and has a calming voice and demeanor which helped me from getting jumpy behind the wheel during our lessons. He's good at adding alterations to the routes to give you practice in extra areas of need as well as giving great road tips without distracting from driving. Learn to Drive overall is a great place to take lessons and your tests, the only criticism I have is that they are hard to get ahold of on the phone and are easier reached by either going in or e-mail. 100% would recommend to friends and family.

i'm giving them a 4 star for now .. as i've read all the reviews, I noticed that they have a lot of good rating. I visited their office today to inquire about the written exam, the lady in the reception was very pleasant and kind enough to give me a piece of paper on how to do the online stuff on how to obtain a colorado instruction permit. I hope I will still get the same pleasant experience with them as I take my permit test and maybe road test and will do a follow up rating/review.

I needed to get my driver's license and there was a waiting list for over 30 days through the DMV, so I came to Learn to Drive and I got in within 60 minutes. I did my physical driving test and passed, went to DMV with my paper work from L2D and I had my license that day. It was worth the extra money I had to pay.. Just saying.😀😀👍 I am so very happy that they were available, otherwise, I don't know how long I would have had to wait. I probably wouldn't have even gotten my DL because of putting it off or just being lazy and not wanting to be put on the wait list. Thanks so much L2D..

On April 25th, 2017 I called to schedule my driving test and was pleasantly surprised to find they had a same-day appointment available. I arrived a little early and they were able to take me out right then, as the customer scheduled during that time was running late. Debi was my driving instructor/tester and was just wonderful. Lakewood driving school was a lifesaver after driving our daughter 1 hour to the lakewood DMV to get her learner's permit with appointment and proof of prior testing. We were rudely turned away because of new Covid restrictions. She was able to take a test without appointment and go back to the DMV to get her permit the same day. Came in for Driver’s test to get a license it $60 for the test in your car. It $80 total if you need to use their car. Plus it super close to the Lakewood DMV. So you can get your test and then drive over to get the license from the DMV. Same day walk in available. Just like every where else come in by no latter then 4 pm. Driver tests can’t be done in the dark. Super nice staff. Easy and quick.

This place is top notch felt so worried to take my driving test they let you review everything about driving and allow you to ask questions and they were more than happy to answer questions.. Didn’t take long at all was in and out in about 30-45 minutes...prices could be a little more affordable to take the test.. cost 80 dollars in their car 60 in your own car.. If prices were a little cheap they might get more and more people to use this place than again the state probably makes pricing on the tests.. overall very satisfied with the awesome third party examiner for driving license’s will definitely recommend to family and friends..

After being failed 3 times at the dmv by some miserable people for RIDICULOUS reasons, I came to this Driving School to take my driving test 2 days after my 3rd fail at the Dmv, I immediately saw a difference in the staff and how FRIENDLY and WELCOMING they were, my driving instructor was the sweet man with a beard and he was a delight! Didn’t make me nervous, and passed me with flying colors, everybody should come here $60 is well worth my mental stability and not having to go back to a place to deal with miserable idiots.
