Local Cdl schooling with schedule accommodation (for working while enrolled). This is also the only school I found in the area training for standard transmission trucks. Skills instructors at the columbus location are very knowledgeable and patient. Gave me the skills necessary to obtain my cdl at my own pace, without issue. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking a program to obtain their class A! Edit: be sure that you're going to the new location, and not the old one!

*note* the branch is now located in Hilliard in the shopping center on Cemetary Road in Hilliard next to the Kroger* Just completed schooling with 160 Driving Academy in Columbus Ohio and obtained my cdl a license recently. Zach (branch manager) was good to deal with, ReKwon (assistant) was very helpful and nice. The yard instructors at the time I was there were very helpful and want you to pass your exam. Treat yard instructors with respect, APPLY yourself/study and focus/practice and you'll do fine! For the money if you are paying out of pocket can't be beat around Columbus if you need the manual transmission training. It was $4950 if paying out of pocket at my time of signup in April of 2022. They do have autos on the yard though if you struggle with manuals a lot. Only real gripe is the quality of the yard trucks. But they are training trucks and get worn from students practicing so it's to be expected. Other than that it's a great school for the money. Just make sure when you talk to Zach or whom-ever branch manager is at the time that they tell you when your first week is and when your yard start date is. That way if you were like me and quit your old career/job to go here that you can smoothly go from 1st week to 4th week in one month that way you you can get a job asap after passing the cdl a. Also be be sure to ask how far out they are scheduling tests. All schools are slightly backed up right now due to new federal law mandating you go to an accredited school. So all schools are adapting to the increased student load. I checked at Capital Transportation, and Clark State Community College in Springfield Ohio and both were backed up. Capital Transportation is around $7,000 out of pocket and Clark State community college in Springfield was around $6,500 out of pocket. My overall experience was good! Just be poliite to everyone, treat instructors with respect, and remember they are there to teach you and help you pass. Good luck!

"ONE AND DONE" My experience with 160 was an interesting one for sure.... Just kidding! It was one of the best decisions I've ever made to go there. I met some many cool classmates. Made a really good friend too. Bernie made the registering process easy, Maryanne did an amazing job teaching the classroom, Phil did an amazing job teaching the beginning process, Rick did an amazing job teaching the parallel, Steve and Paul did an amazing job teaching the 90. I enjoyed the on road part with Dave. He is very patient and teaches you a lot about what you need to know and do. I never got to talk with Cody much, but he was a great guy to talk to with any questions about the test. After a few short weeks with these guys, I've made a new family and I'm really going to miss them.

Best truck driving school possible. Bernie was great with the enrollment process and would follow up throughout duration of school. Donna is a wonderful in-class instructor, even though I passed my written test I learned much more and retained the knowledge. The yard team is a highly skilled group of instructors: Phil, Terry, Paul, Jason, Cody, and Steve. If you follow their instructions and tips you will be well prepared for your driving test. We just went in for a initial meeting to get my boyfriend signed up and Bernie was very nice, straight forward and gave good info. This school is very affordable compared to most other schools in Columbus. ($4200 Cash if you pay up front) Classes start every Monday. I would definitely recommend this school. They also help you get a job! Even if its 6 months after!

The instructors in the yard work with you to make sure you are prepared for the CDL test. I had a good experience with 160 and it was affordable.

One and done!!!! 160 Driving Academy in Columbus is the best one for you to obtain your CDL Class A license. The best school in ohio, After contacting most of the schools, 160 was the cheapest, the fastest process to start the classes. All the people are very nice, Bernie will help you to get all the information you need and start asap, instructors are very friendly, and helpful, they make sure every individual get the information and pass the cdl test. ONE & DONE #GirlPower #ShowThoseMenHowItsDone I would highly recommend. I had a great experience. All of the instructors are excellent, knowledgeable, encouraging and VERY patient. I enjoyed meeting new people & everyone was extremely supportive & kind to each other. I struggled in areas but they made sure whatever I had difficulty with I understood by the end of the day. Bernie is a great guy and made the enrollment process very smooth. I initially had Shelly as my classroom instructor. Shelly got straight to the point and took her time with her power points making sure everyone was on the same page before moving on. I had Marianne once my schedule at work changed she was great and big on the pre-trip and in cab videos in that moment I was tired of watching those videos but it helped me so much when it came to test day thank you Marianne. In the yard I worked mostly with Steve, Cody, Paul and Kirk they all take a genuine interest in your success. They have a story for everything lol.. I will definitely miss them. One and done, I passed the state exams on my first try this morning! I already have an interview lined up for tomorrow for a local route, and two other recruiters wanting me to drive for them as well. I’ve driven itty bitty automatic cars my whole life, so I learned how to drive a manual and a big rig at the same time. I think that actually made it easier for me in some ways, the double clutching is different from what’s on personal cars and trucks. So I didn’t have to unlearn anything. The old yard was a hot mess, giant gravel craters everywhere, on rainy days we could have taken swimming lessons just as well as driving lessons, there mud and dust everywhere... but halfway through my class we switched over to a new yard. This thing is paved and lit and fantastic, much better than before. People wise - Bernie’s been great from start to finish, he’s the admin guy. Nice guy, very responsive, on top of the details. He’s also the one who set me up with a pre-hire and a few other leads. All the instructors are great. Ray needs to work on his outside voice, he didn’t yell enough, but nobody’s perfect. They’re all no-nonsense people but laid back at the same time. It’s an easy five stars, kids. If you’re looking to get your Class A CDL give these people a shot, you won’t be sorry!

The guys in the yard are wonderful teachers and truly care and Bernie stays on top of EVERYTHING and makes it so you can relax and just learn. My experience with 160 was a long road. I didn’t have my birth certificate and I was born in Pennsylvania so I couldn’t get my permit immediately. They where patient with me and gave me time to get it and get back. I was then able to go to the yard and start my training. After starting training on the yard I was honestly a little intimidated because I’ve never drove anything that large. But the trainers explain everything you need to know and get you to the place you need to be. Even after starting training I ended up in the hospital for a week. They again where very patient with me and got me back up to speed. I am truly thankful for the education and training that I received and recommend that anyone wanting to pursue a truck driving career should look into 160 Driving academy! If your one that is a hard learner and need that extra help they’ll do whatever they need to get you what you need. Bernie was my first point of contact and he was honest and everything went as he said it would. My ground instructor Marianne was great even though I passed my test before I learned a lot from her. Steve the head yard instructor was exactly why I choose this school to pass my CDL. He helped anyway he could. The maneuvers instructors Paul and Phil taught so well that I lost zero points on my CDL test but more importantly I learned how and why the truck move the way it does and my driving instructor s Kirt and Cody were the Best I learned so much from those guys. Great experience, home of the "One & Done" CDL test experience. They will teach you everything you need to test for your CDL if you are willing to listen, practice, and apply yourself. The course is built for all different skill levels and backgrounds. The office staff including Marianne and Bernie were super helpful and informative for the classroom portion of the course, and all information was presented clearly and concisely. The driving yard staff including Steve, Cody, Ricky and several other instructors provided clear instructions and helpful feedback on how to operate the trucks and perform several manueverability exercises required for the final exam. Overall, it was a great course, and they give you all the resources you need to get your CDL. I would strongly recommend looking into this program if you are trying to get your CDL.

The school is great! Every instructor know what they are doing, and teach you in detail. They even lead by example! All you have to do is do exactly what they tell you to do, and you will never fail! If they tell you to do a hard right or a hard left and hold it, then do it and you will see that it works, and you will get it everytime! I can't say enough about Steve! It’s good school it’s little hard to get enough time of practice specially if the students in your class are more but it’s easy to get your CDL if you listen what they tell you it’s little confusing but once you get it you will be fine and Bernie thank you soo much you make things easy man.

I must say this is a great school with awesome trainers, if you want your CDL go to 160 academy, they will work with you and towards your success, great staff 100% recommend
