Highly recommend joining this driving school. I took 4 classes with Chiniel and 1 with Jonathan and passed the driving test on first try. Both are very friendly instructors. Scheduling classes was easy, and they work around your schedule. They also help with booking the road test and application making the process easy.

Jonathan was great! I took 10 classes with him and passed my test on the first try. The only reason I knocked two stars off is because the day of the test was absolutely brutal. I knew that it was a group test but I definitely did not expect over 25 people at the location and just one examiner. The RMV location in Lynn does not have a physical office and we had to wait on a sidewalk for 3 hours in 40 degree weather on a very windy day. I got sick right after the test and the waiting game does not help with the anxiety at all. The only advantage of paying the $180 for the test with the school was that the examiner gave me a hard time over some mistakes but Jonathan vouched for me and told him that is just nerves. I still would not recommend taking the test with the school. It was not worth the hassle or the money. Keep in mind you will have to pay the RMV $85 on top of the $180

This is an excellent driving school with great teachers and communication when it comes to creating your driving schedule. My teacher was Alfonso and I passed on my first try for the drivers test. Cannot recommend them enough.

i have literally never written a review in my life but this driving school is amazing! very professional and I was able to complete my 10 lessons within a month (only that long because of my schedule) and have my road test scheduled before the lessons were even completely over. very flexible with dates and times! my instructor was very patient and calm & also very encouraging. He showed some tough love but it helped me become a less anxious driver. so happy i picked this driving school :)

Having just moved to the US and having only driven manual before, Jonathan was a great teacher helping me learn the rules of the road here, automatic transmission, and giving such helpful pointers for the road test. This is the second driving school I went to and I wish I had found universe driving before! I had such bad driving anxiety (and honestly am still a little nervous). This the best driving school ever. The instructor is a very polite and patient person. He is also very flexible, you learn at your pace with your own schedule. I was the worst student, I freaked out and cancelled my first road test but he was very nice about it and helped me reschedule and I took the exam once and passed. I had taken my lessons from chinel and i gotta say he taught me well on how to drive. He is informative on how to drive and goes step by step in order for you to drive safely and at ease. I had also took my road test with him and i was able to pass it. The price of taking the lesson and test is cheap and good. If you go with him you do just fine. Overall i liked it.

Here's why I think Universe Driving School (specifically Jean) excels versus other driving schools: 1. Cost Breakdown It's easy to spend $80/lesson (or more) at other driving schools where each lesson is between 30 minutes to an hour. Universe Driving school offers a 10 lesson package at $38/lesson where each lesson is one-hour. That's phenomenal pricing in the MA area! 2. Phenomenal Instructor If you call up Universe Driving School, ask for Jean. He's not only knowledgeable and great at articulating what needs to be done depending on the scenario, but he really cares about his students. He not only cared about me passing the test, but he cared about how I would drive on the road thereafter. When scheduling lessons he's pretty flexible. He was able to schedule lessons as late as 8pm or as early as 8am depending on my work schedule. He's also incredibly patient and diffuses a negative or stressful situation with humor, something that's really helpful when you're first starting out behind the wheel. 3. Quality Lessons Jean shows you all of the basic maneuvers in the first few lessons. You learn how to do a three point turn, reverse, park, parallel park, left turns, etc. Once you get out of the comfy neighborhood streets, he'll reiterate these fundamentals in the city streets--where a lot of the close action happens. Furthermore he'll take you where most schools won't--THE HIGHWAY!!! That means operating the vehicle at speeds upwards of 65, merging into oncoming traffic, entering/exiting, what lane to drive in depending on your destination, etc. And you'll continue to practice on the highways until you're comfortable and able to react appropriately given the situation. Given the fact that you're getting high quality lessons at extremely affordable prices compared to other driving schools in the area, I think this school is one of the best choices in MA. I got my license today (first try ever) and wouldn't have been able to do it without Jean's guidance. Mahalo, Jean!

This school does an incredibly great job at teaching how to drive. the instructor is very nice, and very direct on how you did wrong something wrong and explains why it was wrong, and makes you learn it until you finally know what to do.
