I wish I could give 10 stars! Dr Bonilla and his staff are great! Kelly at the front desk is always helpful and makes going to the doctor easy. I started seeing Dr Bonilla years ago and I can say he's one of the most thorough Doctors I've been too. I started his weight loss program a year ago and have lost almost 140# with it. It has truly saved andchanged my life. I have never have felt pressured to buy anything so I'm not sure what the other review was about. There is no magic that the doctor does to lose weight he can only guide and help you have to be dedicated and do a lot of hard work. I just wanted to post this to say Thank You to the Dr. and all his staff for there help!

I have been a patient of Dr Bonilla's for the last thirty years and have been extremely satisfied with his care, competence, professionalism and overall approach to his patients well being in numerous ways. His overall bedside manner is the best and will refer you to other specialists when needed. After these many years I would consider him a friend who cares. His staff has always been very polite, friendly, caring and competent. The latest practice of separating patients while waiting to avoid contact and maintain "social separation" during the ongoing pandemic is comforting, smart and reassuring. Overall BRAVO Doc!!!

I have never had a doctor that was as respectful and diligent as Dr. Bonilla. I have been a patient of his for over two years and I am always impressed with how great his staff is and how thorough Dr. Bonilla is as a doctor. He genuinely cares about giving the highest quality care to his patients and he is incredibly easy to talk to. I feel lucky to have found a doctor who creates a comforting environment for his patients and also makes himself available during times of emergency. I can't recommend him enough!

The following would not have been possible without Dr. Bonilla. This is a slightly modified excerpt from a recent blog I wrote: “I’ve struggled with my weight since I was in high school and have gone up, down and practically sideways on the scale over the years…The first few months of Covid made the freshman 15 look like child’s play. Last summer, after finally mustering up the courage to speak with Dr Bonilla, we agreed that it was time for a bit (ha ha) of an overhaul of my eating and exercise. A few weeks in, I started to see the benefits. On top of looking better from the weight loss, I’m feeling better, too. I’ve noticed that my mind is clearer, and my stress and anxiety have become less bothersome. In the past few weeks, a few people have even mentioned to me that they think I’m happier eating this new way and that I seem more at peace with myself. I’m so glad I did this and while I wish I’d done it sooner, I recognize that I started when I felt that I could not when I thought I should!” The depth of Dr. Bonilla’s knowledge and experience in the weight loss arena cannot be understated. While other doctors offer some of the same services, when you work with Dr. Bonilla, you see him every single week. That gives you and he the opportunity to tweak things that aren’t working and reinforce those that are. He helps to fill in the confidence you may not have on your own. Many doctors say that they individualize weight loss plans but in this case it is true. It wasn’t easy but it was more than worth the effort and expense of getting back a life I was pretty sure was out of my reach. Dr. Bonilla, thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me. Seeing obesity as a chronic medical problem rather than a character flaw was eye opening and helped to eliminate some of the shame many of us feel regarding our weight and difficulty managing what we eat. It has been and likely will always continue to be a bumpy ride. Thanks for accompanying me!!

I see Dr. Bonilla as my general practitioner and for weight loss. Every appointment, he makes sure to visit with me personally. He is always patient and willing to answer any questions I have. In addition, my weight loss with Dr. B has been amazing! I am at my goal weight and on the maintenance program. The foods and guidance provided by Dr. B and his staff made the program so easy! All of the nurses in his office are so sweet and do such a good job. I highly recommend!!

Dr. Bonilla offers flexibility in meal plans that make it easy to count your daily intake of calories. When you get stuck on your weight loss, he always has a suggestion to get the weight off again and it works! His staff is friendly and helpful. I've lost 52 lbs in 6 months and feel great. I highly recommend this program.

Best physician I have ever seen. By far the most knowledgeable primary care physician I have ever encountered, and even more importantly he genuinely cares about the health of his patients. Every visit, every time, he is genuinely engaged with me as a person and as a patient. I have never felt even the slightest bit that I was a "product" or "health consumer" paying for services and, but instead like a patient under the care of a doctor who takes his professional oath seriously. Too many physicians, for a multitude of reasons both excusable and inexcusable, seem to view their patients as just a means to earning money and therefore the quicker and more efficiently they can dispatch with the visit and end their time spent with each patient the better. Dr. Bonilla is an "old-school" doctor that seems less driven by economic efficiency and more by the dignity and professional ideals of what the word "Doctor" has meant for generations of us growing up before the modern focus on health efficiency outcomes.

Dr Bonilla is the best doctor i have encountered across the US - he has a true passion for helping patients, has amazing bedside manners, listens well, doing appropriate due diligence on the symptoms before finalizing his diagnosis. What makes him unique, is that he has chosen to help patients than chase riches, something he could easily do providing a concierge service. Outside of treating my entire family for over a decade, he has an amazing network of specialists that he is intimately connected to in the tampa bay area. I could go on and on, he receives a rare 5 star rating from me and my family!

UPDATE: After a total weight loss of 46 lbs, I was out of Tampa for five summer months, but stayed with Dr Bonilla's weight maintenance plan. I came back having gained back only 3 lbs, which came off quickly. Now I am in the final phase, losing another 11 pounds to reach the final weight level of 190 (down from 247). Thanks again to Dr Bonilla and his entire team. And, once that goal is reached, I am staying on the maintenance plan -- the monthly accountability helps me stay on track. I went to Dr. Bonilla at the recommendation of my GP. And, boy, was she right. Its difficult to lose weight at age 64 and keep it off. But, working with Dr. Bonilla has produced a dramatic and rapid success. I reached my initial weight loss goal of 30 lbs in less than eight weeks. On the advice of my GP and Dr. Bonilla, we added another 16 pounds to that goal, which I am rapidly approaching that. We have already begun discussing the next phase – maintenance. Not only is Dr. Bonilla a certified expert in medical weight loss, he is also a forward- looking advisor and one with good intuition about when one might go off the rails. The staff supports him and me with great efficiency and enthusiasm. The office is clean, well laid-out and has great off-street parking. I heartily endorse Dr. Bonilla to you, if you are serious about losing weight and putting yo-yo dieting behind you.

I have been a patient of Dr bonilla for years, he is a kind , sincere and caring Physician that listens and take his time no matter how busy he is to give you the right diagnose , you never wait more than 10 minutes for your appointment , his staff is so nice and pleasant . I have been a patient of Dr. Bonilla's for about 13 years. I never have a problem getting an appointment when it is convenient for me, often times the same day. Likewise, if I just need to speak to Dr. Bonilla and leave a message he is sure to call me back personally. As far as being a knowledgeable physician, Dr. Bonilla is top notch. He is very thorough, takes his time during exams, asks detailed questions and always answers my questions. EKG’s, blood work and urine are all done on site, which is a great time saver for me. I have recommended Dr. Bonilla to friends and family and will continue to do so.

I will always hold Dr. Bonilla in high esteem! He literally saved my son's life. My son had a very bad back and was seeing a chiropractor. He continued to get worse and worse. I took him to see Dr. Bonilla and Dr. Bonilla was concerned that he may have Osteomyelitis of the spine. He immediately ordered an MRI which determined that my son did have Osteomyelitis of the spine which does not have a good prognosis. If not treated, death or paralysis can occur. Dr. Bonilla immediately put my son in the hospital. Today my son is a very healthy 24 year old man, thanks to Dr. Bonilla!! I will forever be indebted to Dr. Bonilla. THANK YOU DR. BONILLA FOR SAVING MY SON!!!!
