Reviews of Dr. John T. Shaw MD

Outstanding bedside manner, Dr Shaw has given me great care over the years… if he runs late to appointments, it’s because he cares to take the time to give each patient what they need… has gone above and beyond in the past on follow ups, etc.

Dr. Shaw is a compassionate and caring provider. He takes his time to understand and recognize your Health Care needs. I was thrilled to find him!
Convenient parking and a very efficient and kind staff. I would recommend him to all of my family and friends! He is the portrait of what all Physcians should strive to be!

I think Dr. Shaw is a great doctor. Very attentive and cares about his patients. That is a quality I very much appreciate out of a doctor.
My reason for 3 stars and not 4 or 5 is not due to quality of care, but quality of business. I think it’s ridiculous that a 15-min FaceTime phone call, to simply refill a known and regular prescription, gets charged the same as a full office visit. A note to add, I can get a 3-month prescription refill over a full office visit, but only a 1-month refill over a quick FaceTime call to get refilled. Keep in mind, I’m not getting physically checked up over the FaceTime call which lasts no more than 15-min (and that’s a stretch, probably much shorter) versus getting fully checked up and taking up an hour or more of time.
I don’t mind paying for services that are essential, however, I do not like being taking advantage of and can’t imagine anyone else does either. There is quite an unfair discrepancy in things you get charged for versus what you receive for those charges. The FaceTime service is advertised as beneficial yet you get charged the same and get way less out of it, it mainly benefits the Doctor if anything.
I want to note also, that I’ve used the FaceTime service through Dr. Shaw before and have never been charged for an office visit until now. This was done without notice, I called the office, spoke to the receptionist, and she was of 0 help and iterated that I “just had to pay” with no regard to explain or help.

Dr Shaw has been my PCP for at least 25 years. He goes above and beyond to be available to his patients no matter the crazy hour. You may wait a bit to see him but you will have his full attention when its your turn. Can't say enough good things about him!

Dr. Shaw is amazing at what he does. He is very efficient and caring. Truly happy I was introduced to him. He has really made my life easier and more productive.

I never mind having to wait longer than I would somewhere else. Having a doctor that truly listens when it is your turn is never time wasted.
