I found Dr. Sokoly's office over the holidays when I urgently needed help with a sudden toothache that ended up needing a root canal. His office was extremely accommodating at getting me into visit as soon as possible and they sent me over to an amazing doctor to get the root canal done. Dr. Sokoly and his staff are very professional, friendly, and helpful. I was excited to have found a dentist in DC but unfortunately they stopped taking Aetna in late January 2016. I would highly recommend going to Dr. Sokoly. He is an excellent dentist that takes the time to explain things and is thoughtful and cautious in his approach. Bonus is they have TVs at each station so you can focus on that if you need to!

I was unsure of what expect when I scheduled a routine cleaning during a pandemic. I wondered - what precautions were being taken? would I feel safe?, etc. I did feel safe and left confident that Dr. Sokoly and his staff took every measure possible to minimize risk to their patients and themselves. For example, there’s only 1 patient in the office at a time. They text you when it’s ok to come up. The office door is locked to regulate who enters. Upon entering the lobby, your temperature is taken and, if ok, you’re instructed where to walk to reach the hygienist. The hygienist and Dr. Sokoly have full PPE and have extra measures during your teeth cleaning that minimize airborne particles. Last, patients are rotated among the various exam rooms (remember, 1 patience in the entire office at a time) so that there’s enough time to thoroughly clean and disinfect exam rooms between patients. Dr. Sokoly and his staff have always put the patients comfort and safety at the forefront of care and they demonstrated that commitment in their changes to protocol during COVID.

I had a very difficult problem with a front tooth. The endodontist wanted to do one painful sounding procedure. The periodontist had a different equally painful sounding suggestion. Dr. Sokoly came up with a simple solution that created the needed structure to mount a crown on what otherwise could have been a complicated, painful and much more expensive. I recommend him highly.

New to DC or looking for a change? This is your Dentist. No need to look any further. I have been going to Dr. Sokoly since I moved to DC in 1996. He is downtown, close to the World Bank, IMF, IFC, and K street, so it's easy to pop in before work or during the day. It doesn't hurt either that he is both a Hoya and a Terp! Staff is super professional and nice.

i literally do not have the language to describe how wonderful this human and the humans that work at this office are. literally. but i carry cards to hand out to ppl i overhear that need a dentist. absolutely worth it. every single thing, completely worth it. i broke a tooth, multiple times sadly, and have been able to be squeezed in the next business day every time. every single time. additionally, when, after hours, dr sokoly assured me he'd be able to fit me in in the morning before i went to work, and then he had a personal emergency, his office called me to relay the emergency and worked with me and him via text to find an adequate time. i will never see another dentist as long as he practices.
