This is the best dentist experience I have had! I usually get very anxious with dentist visits but the process at this office is very comforting and patient focused. My hygienist, Sharon, was very sweet and explained everything she were doing to me and how it worked. She took detailed pictures of my teeth which I hadn't seen done before. Dr. Nguyen was amazing and took the time to sit with me and explain all her recommendations. I highly recommend this office!

I have been coming to Brandywine for a little more than a year now and it is great. The appointment times are plentiful and fit my schedule, everyone there from front desk to the hygienists to the dentists are very friendly and knowledgeable. They ensure that you are comfortable during cleanings or any procedures. They landed on my radar due to one of the fliers I received in the mail. I normally toss them but when I was in the market for a new dentist, I thought I would give them a try. Very glad I did.

Who would have ever thought that I’d live long enough to enjoy going to the dentist’s office??? Well, Brandywine Dental has become that place for me. Over the past two years, Dr. Ivan Stengel and crew have earned my complete loyalty for their collegial, highly professional services. I needed a LOT of work done after 10 years living in East Africa, but Dr. Stengel convinced me that I would be investing in a healthier future if I stopped procrastinating and took care of all of my “Issues.” I still have a ways to go before I’m finally restored to my best dental health, but I can’t imagine going on this journey with anyone else. When I was 11 years old I had a terrible bicycle accident, resulting in a major chip in my front tooth. For 40-years I dealt with that tooth… from caps falling off again and again, discolored veneers, and a poor fit. After years of ill attempts to add more veneers on the surrounding teeth (to match things up), which resulted in damage to my lower teeth, I ended up settling and resigned to the fact that this was just how it was going to be. Several dentists later I met Dr. Lomke for a routine checkup. He noticed the chaos in there instantly and suggested I look at some photos after my appointment. What he later showed me were before and after photos of people he helped in my similar situation. His passion for GOOD cosmetic dentistry was evident in his stories and his 'after' photos. So, I told him I wanted to go ahead and do it. In the weeks to follow, Dr. Lomke and his incredibly caring staff prepped me and literally held my hand through the process. His technique was new to me, and clearly advanced by his modern technology. More than once he called me at home to check on me when I had temporaries in. The day of the major installation (for lack of a better word but that’s truly what it was), Dr Lomke took his time - and with great care - to ensure perfection. He put in six new veneers that look unmistakably real. I love them! I truly mean it when I say that Dr. Lomke knows what he’s doing and the end result will be amazing, if not life-changing. I now smile with teeth in photos!

Hands down, I received the best dental treatment in my life at Brandywine! I just moved back to the area and was searching for a dentist until I remembered my fabulous experience at Brandywine about three years ago. In October 2019, I came to Brandywine for an emergency because I had just chipped my front tooth as a college student without any dental insurance. The healthcare providers not only graciously took me in despite not having dental insurance, but they went beyond to ensure that I felt supported and taken care of. My lips and face were cut from the accident, and they carefully worked around my injuries to avoid any additional pain. I also had a concussion and they made sure the light was never too bright to avoid worsening my condition. They walked me through every step of the process to make sure I was informed and created a sleep retainer to wear at night so that any grinding would not further damage my teeth. As a college student who was paying for this on my own without any insurance, they even gave me a discount! I vividly still remember this experience three years later, and it has been the best healthcare experience I have ever had. Go to Brandywine — I am so grateful I found them. Everyone there truly cares about your well-being and wants to help you in whichever way they can!

Amazingly efficient and friendly docs and assistants, including the front desk admin personnel. A great team. If anyone can make getting a root canal bearable (i wouldn't go so far as to say "fun"), Dr. Lomke can. Being able to view the before and after pictures of my teeth on the screen was really helpful. The assistants and interns are also super friendly, helpful, and informative. They did everything to ensure my comfort. Of course Dr Adam Schwartz is a rock star wizard of dentistry. I love this place. The front desk folks are wonderfully friendly and kind, and the technicians and dentists are amazing. I had the best cleaning of my life by Sharon (finally someone who can floss gently!) and when I was nervous about coming in for a filling, Sherrena was an absolute doll who made me feel comfortable and well cared for. And Dr. Joshua Lomke is great! Very friendly and gave me an excellent filling--no pain, fast, and super professional and caring. This will be my dentist office for as long as I live in DC!

EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW DR SCHWARTZ AND ALL OF BRANDYWINE DENTAL. Whether it’s for routine cleaning or a more significant procedure, every patient is greeted with a warm welcome and given the level and the type of care needed to put them at ease and keep them as comfortable as possible. Due to personal health issues, I am frequently in need of an emergency appointment that usually also requires special accommodations (such as taking numerous breaks). Dr Schwartz never hesitates to help. This is the most kind, friendly, patient and caring group of dental professionals you will ever meet.

Let me start off by saying I hate going to the dentist. I can’t help it. Some people hate clowns, some people are afraid of heights—I hate the dentist. Combine my anxiety over that with anxiety over letting someone dig in my mouth during the COVID pandemic and you can start to understand how I felt going in to the office. But I had to. I delayed appointments for over a year, was having some serious gum issues, and my normal dentist was closed. I called and was in the office within an hour. I went in and met with the Doctor, who was a kind, scientifically minded, and overall nice guy for a bit of prodding to see what was going on. The office was fairly comfortable and relaxed, not overly stuffy or fake like some dentist offices, you could see the trees from the window, and the hours were far more accessible. I liked it so much (in as much as I can ever like having my teeth looked at), I came back and got my cleaning the same day. I have a number of unresolved dental issues that I’ll be looking into over the next year that could change my mind, but I think I have a new dentist.

I had a very positive experience at Brandywine Dental Care as a first time patient in need of a cleaning. I really appreciated that the doctors took the time to explain what they saw on the x-rays in a way that was easy to understand. I was also impressed by the level of attention to detail. The doctors checked for oral cancers (something no dentist has done for me before) and put vaseline on my lips to prevent them from drying out during the cleaning. I felt well taken care of. The staff are all very welcoming as well.

Dr. Lomke and Irene were phenomenal Who knew one could get numbing injections with no pain whatsoever??? This is a thing now? My previous dentist (now retired) had no idea about pain-free numbing techniques and, I must admit, I was very reluctant and hesitant when Dr. Lomke assured me that he could do that. He explained why that was the case and then he followed through just as he had promised. He’s now gained my full and absolute confidence. I have nothing but positive superlatives to describe my experience this morning. I recommend him and Brandywine without any reservations or hesitation.

Every time I go to Brandywine Dental Care I have a good experience. I had a variety of dental procedures completed over a 10 year period and all were resolved to my satisfaction. DOC ADAMS IS A FREAKIN SAVIOR! I’ve got massive dental issues and this guy is the most compassionate, creative and innovative dentist EVER! I was in massive pain from a root canal which was abscessed. I’m a musician and had a gig that night. You got me to the point where the swelling went down the pain went down and I was able to perform. I would recommend this dentist to anybody out there. He is a God among men!!!!

I had such a great experience here. I love that the hours are so geared to people who work as I can always easily schedule evening appointments online or through texting as I have so much trouble with places which you can only call to schedule. The reception staff are friendly and understanding of being late and try to accommodate your appointments. The dentists are both so friendly and funny they make it easy to be distracted while getting the procedures as I’m terrified usually of the drill and in the past I have had issues with dentists not numbing enough. This was definitely not the case and the dentists provided just the right amount of numbing medication for this procedure. It was so quick as well usually I’m in the chair a lot longer with the dentist drilling and spraying water directly in my throat (which makes me unable to breathe) but they really get you in to the dentist within 2 minutes of walking in. It was also extremely helpful that they were very covid conscious and wouldn’t allow patients to enter without completing the wellness form. I really enjoyed this experience and would 100 percent recommend them to anyone who needed a dentist that was safe and extremely quick efficient and good at their job.

Irene and Dr. Lomke are the best, hands down. Was super scared about a wisdom tooth removal, but Dr. Lomke provided me with the best care. Irene was so supportive, literally holding my hand while I had my tooth removed! She was so so kind and didn't have to be. Wow! I can't believe I'm writing a review of a dental office but honestly I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Lomke and the team at Brandywine Dental. Everyone from the front desk team to the dental care team is incredibly helpful, supportive and caring. No one looks forward to going to the dentist but the team here at Brandywine makes it a positive experience. Dr. Lomke goes out of his way to make sure he explains everything to me at the start of the procedure. I've never experienced any discomfort at all which I find remarkable! I highly recommend this clinic for people with dental anxiety. I went to Brandywine Dental Care for both a routine dental cleaning and a root canal. Dr. Ivan Stangel was fantastic. He was careful, thorough, informative, and did a great job. The same was true for the dental hygienist I saw. This clinic even caught errors with another Maryland clinic's dental recommendations! Absolutely the best experience I’ve had. Moving from Seattle to DC, I’d put off finding a new dentist. By chance(and a mailer) I made an appointment for a cleaning. My mouth never felt so clean. They use some high tech sonic water jet, painless and my teeth feel so clean afterwards. I never thought I’d actually look forward to going to the dentist, but now I do! Plus everyone’s super super nice and professional. Highly recommend.

My family has been going to Brandywine Dental for several years now. Between the four of us (two children, two adults), we've had cleanings, crowns, fillings, tooth extractions, one dental implant, and two root canals. Almost all of our procedures (aside from cleanings) have been performed by Dr. Schwartz or Dr. Deckard. (We actually came to Brandywine because we were following Dr. Deckard from our old practice.) Other reviewers have complained about insurance--it is true that their practice is out-of-network for many insurance companies, and that means they will file/submit the cost to your company, which will cover whatever it covers and you have to pay the difference. Having said that, we've found their billing department to be communicative, honest, up-front, and resourceful in this regard. We realize that we may sometimes be paying more out of pocket than if we stayed in-network, but we still keep going to them year after year because they are simply excellent. They really care about their patients--at least that's what we've experienced over the years. We have never found them to be pushy or manipulative in recommending treatments. Their facilities are high-tech and comfortable. Dr. Schwartz and Dr. Deckard are exceptionally skillful, accomodating, and friendly, as are the assistants, hygienists, and the fabulous ladies in reception and billing. We recommend them very highly.

I have been going to Brandywine Dental Care for a decade and I cannot recommend this practice enough. They have always provided exceptional care for me - from the simple to complex cleaning, to cavities, to complex root canals, and implants. Over the years they have steadily improved the tools at their disposal to stay current with leading edge products as they become available. Over the years they have made sure to carefully craft and adjust my treatments. I have always been impressed with their honesty and integrity. They never just give you one course of treatment, but offer multiple options, timelines, and payment options. They have a person always dedicated to helping work with your insurance providers to ensure you have the best financial options available. While we all recognize that there are multiple options and practices in the neighborhood, I know I will never leave this practice and will recommend them to the highest degree possible. Yes there are other options, but this practice is firmly rooted in honesty, integrity, and really cares about their patients health and well being. Myself and others have come to find this practice to not only be a great provider for the entire family and serve a wide demographic in the community, but they really are part of the community. They have established themselves as an integral and caring part of our community which you really cannot manufacture with a press kit or flyer - they have earned it through their integrity, hard work, and genuine love for their patients. In fact, this practice very early on in the 2020 pandemic sent much of their spare medical equipment to serve some hard hit areas of New York to serve others. They did this not for press, but for the genuine care of others. I would say that this practice knows my mouth better than anyone. For those with complex bites, they have become masters at adjusting fillings for sensitive teeth. One key example of the care that they take is, shortly before the pandemic they decided to do a preventative diagnostic to just see the state of my mouth. They discovered a very bad and undetected abcess that if left undiscovered would have led to very bad consequences. They laid out a course of action and have honestly saved my life and repeatedly followed up to ensure that I was safe and doing better. Simply put, their honesty, their staff, and their services are just exceptional. I highly recommend them.

I love Dr. Adam and his staff! We were referred by a friend 4 years ago and have never left. I am most impressed by their gentle hands and patience. I also take my Mother, who is disabled with Aphasia (difficulty communicating). They go out of their way to make her feel comfortable and ensure she understands the procedures. They have fit us in for emergency appoints (chipped front tooth-the horror!) They will assess your dental needs and tell you what can wait and what needs immediate attention. Love them!

Let me first say that I hate going to the dentist. Every single person at Brandywine makes it a little less painful. They are friendly and welcoming and put you at ease (well almost at ease). They are absolutely current with procedures and equipment but equally important explain all possible treatments and let you make the choice.

I took my wife to have a root canal done. Dr Shwartz was beyond brilliant. He was compassionate and attentive. She said he was so gentle it was less terrifying than having her crown replaced. His staff are always eager to help. Especially Irina. I totally recommend Brandywine Dental Care.
