Very friendly staff, proficient and new clean environment. However, as private as it should be not so much. You hear other dental work going on while your waiting in your dental chair. TVs while you wait is great and all but blasting the volume for background noise isn’t the solution. Perhaps some doors.

Amazing , amazing , amazing ! The staff is very respectful ! I came in to get my mouth checked out because I haven’t been to the dentist in a while and within 3 minutes of me walking in and getting started on the paper work I was already being called to the back . Immediately they took ample X-rays of my mouth , I was soon visited by a dentist , who did a fast and smooth checking off my gums , followed By another dentist who throughly checked my teeth , they gave me a clear , clean , cut explanation of what was going on I’m terms I can understand . They gladly and quickly responded to any questions or concerns I may have had . Set my appointments and then was off to the Financial portion of the visit she was very amazing as a person she explained everything in simple terms that made it easy for me to understand and overall just made me feel comfortable the entire staff did ! Thank you for such great hospitality The entire staff !!!

The doctors here are great. Dr. Phaup and Dr. Turkewitz do an outstanding job. In the Suffolk Office, Dr. Pham has been awesome also. I’ve had some issues with some of their processes. 1) When I first went to Aspen Dental, it was because I had insurance and wanted a cleaning every 6 months vs. the once per year the military provided. When I went to the cleaning, they charged a bunch of extra fees such as “Gingival Irrigation Per Quad”. I never agreed to those services and they did refund those charges! 2) On another visit, they were short staffed during COVID-19 and Dr. Phaup had to do some cleaning herself! I think they had a dental assistant, not hygienist, polish my teeth and floss. 3) The downtown Suffolk office was recently sold by Dr. Turkewitz. A filling chipped (Dr. Pham repaired), re-chipped (Dr. Turkewitz repaired at no charge), then Dr. Kundlas saw decay under the tooth and referred me to an endodontist. This all occurred within 5 months. Endodontist did a root canal. When I come back to the downtown Suffolk office, I was informed none of the previous doctors I saw worked there anymore and they had new temporary doctor that has been there 2 days! I asked about the fees and I was told they are higher because the temporary doctor was out-of-network for all insurance plans. So I left the office and was given a list of in-network Aspen Dental dentists. I was emailed the fees of the temporary doctor and the fees were actually in line with the network fees. But I decided to try to see Dr. Turkewitz at one of his other locations. Even though I just saw Dr. Turkewitz, I was informed by the Norfolk office I need a cleaning and an exam. I then called the VA Beach Red Mill office and asked for an appointment with Dr. Phaup, my first Aspen Dental doctor. I was scheduled but the staff called 1 hours and 15 mins before the appointment to tell me they had to cancel. They also wanted an exam and cleaning. I told them I can provide documentation from a periodontist I see because I feel like the cleaning I receive there is a lot better. I requested an appointment where I can get an exam and crown prep on the same day because I live an hour away or two hours roundtrip away. I was told “No”, that’s not how it works and Dr. Phaup does not feel comfortable without an exam. I asked again why can’t I have an exam and crown prep appointment on the same day. It's not like Dr. Phaup will be studying my x-rays for a week before my next crown prep appointment. She has 100s of clients each week. I am sure there is some day where you have two appointment blocks open where the first block can be for the exam and the second block can be for the crown prep. Anyways, I am going back to the downtown Suffolk office to get the crown prep done and seeing my fourth doctor in the last 6 months with Aspen Dental about this same tooth…. After this procedure, I am going to want to look for a new office with more stability with its doctors. 4) I have a credit with Aspen Dental. Their copay estimates are always higher than the statement I get from my insurance company on what I owe. They want you to pay first in the office.

This place was terrific!! Everyone was so professional, upbeat, and very kind. From the min, you walked in the door until you paid on the way out. I will definitely be going back for any of my dental needs. If I could give more stars, I would!

Called to get an last minute appointment and they were very helpful, extremely polite and understanding of my situation. When I went into the office the front desk worker was so welcoming and friendly! All of the staff was helpful and answered all of my questions and concerns. Would definitely recommend! I will be doing all of my dental appointments with Aspen Dental!

From the moment I walked in everyone was so kind. From the front desk, to the girl who did my X-rays, to those who handled my procedure. Jordan at the front desk was amazing! She came to check on me after my procedure and her kind spirit was the boost I needed. Erick was wonderful also! I was filled with so much anxiety because I had an infection in my mouth and the shot they gave me hurt worse because of it, but he held my hand and kept talking me through the pain. Dr. Turk? I believe his name was, he did an amazing job removing my tooth and making sure my partial was perfect. The other doctor, I can’t remember her name, but she had these beautiful tattoos on her arms, she was very kind as well talking me through the process, and through the after care. All in all, I was a mess, and the staff at this location took amazing care of me and didn’t make me feel like the baby that I was being 😅. Thank you all!!

Great experience today at Aspen Dental today. I had broken a tooth and called yesterday as a new patient, and was called back in the afternoon with an appointment for today. I was in so much pain and the office was able to get me in the same day within an hour of my calling! I was impressed with the vibe of the office and the staff who took care of me were so kind, gentle and non judgmental. Over all it was a good experience but I never got my toothbrush and mouthwash. I think I came at lunch time so I guess they forgot and I didn't realize it until I was half way home. But I'll be there Wednesday so I'll get it then.

I had an appointment at another Aspen Dental office for a later date. But I had to do a walk-in at the Hampton office due to severe pain & swelling. They were kind enough to take me in. I ended up having 3 infected teeth removed. Thank you so much!

...the story is a bit long..but...bottom line...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this facility... ..due to an horrific dental experience at an early age...I hadn't seen a dentist in YEARS... (see before an after photos..) ..on January 27th 2021..it was time to put my big -boy pants on..and...sit down in the chair and get-it-done.. ...shouts outs to (whomever) was in charge of I-V sedation..I didn't even feel.the pinch...once the oxygen tubes went up my nose..it was lights out...woke up a few moments later..extractions completed-mouth full of new dentures(and gauze)...and... NO-PAIN.!!!....big THANKS to the ENTIRE STAFF (they could tell how nervous I was..I had my eyes closed the entire time :))..special shout to Ms Destiny of Aspen Dental..for posing for a selfie with me...👍👍

I must say everyone from start to finish was pleasant and welcoming. I am glad I chose this office to continue my dental care. Aspen Dental was absolutely the best place I have ever been for dental treatment. From the moment I walked in the door I was welcomed like family. There was zero wait time, the facility was spotless, the technology was top of the line, and all of the staff was super friendly and professional. My dental plan was clearly explained to me, I had a lot of questions and time was taken to answer each of my questions fully. While I was there I even texted my kids to tell them that I was switching them to Aspen Dental because my experience was so perfect and I had seeked a new dentist because our last dentist was unreliable, impatient, the facility was always overcrowded, and the wait-times were ridiculously long, sometimes we waited hours upon hours just to get canceled. A special shout-out to MS. JORDAN at the front desk who is the consummate professional.....she has a special way of connecting with patients and actually making them feel like the dentist is a great place to be with her cheery disposition, positive attitude, and professionalism. She leaves you leaving the dentist and looking forward to your next visit!!!

The office staff was nice enough. My dentures never have fit properly. Adhesive oozes everywhere whenever I put them in. When I would go back in and try to get a realignment they would use my denture plate for the impression. I think that made it worse because then it was more out of alignment. I understand that dentures are not perfect but I am eating adhesive every day and having to glue them back in after I eat something kind of disappointing. So I am stuck with subpar dentures until I qualify for another set.

Amazing experience. I went to Aspen Dentistry on a recommendation from a friend. I moved and needed a new dentist but I’m very weary about changing physicians. However, the moment I walked in the staff was warm and welcoming. I came in with certain things in mind regarding treatment and I felt I was listened to. They did not try to push unnecessary treatments only things they knew were important. They gave me a breakdown of all costs and did not hesitate to provide additional discounts and coupons to reduce my costs even though I had good insurance and an HSA account. I was able to schedule all treatments according to my work schedule. Overall I was very impressed by their customer service!

I had a dental appointment this morning at the Aspen 2204 General Booth Blvd. location and was extremely pleased with how it went. I am also surprised at how fast they got me in. I called over the weekend, Sat. and they was able to get me in today the following workday which was Mon. I had some very unpleasant experiences in the military with dental work which has caused me to be very fearful and reluctant to step into a dental office for years but the entire Aspen staff I dealt with this morning completely calmed my nerves from the second I walked in their door. If it wasn't for my daughter, an RN urging me to seek dental care, I probably wouldn't have done so. Dr. Phaup was very pleasant and caring from the second I walked in and Miss Summer was a joy to meet as well, they both did a tremendous job working with me and calming my nerves. There was a young gentleman, a surgeon whose name I didn't get, but I greatly admired his care, honesty and willingness to help me as well. I know I'm in good hands here, and look very much forward to seeing them again real soon.

It had been a while since I had been to the Dentist so I needed a lot of work done, from the first appointment to each appointment to get wisdom teeth pulled to fillings to a crown and cleanings; this is by far the best experience I have had at a Dentist office. Everyone is so friendly and genuinely happy to be at work from the owner to the front desk ladies. I was treated with respect and care; everyone was so patient with me and understanding. I did not mind coming in for my appointments and any anxiety that I had disappeared. The cost of everything I needed done was well explained at the end of that first appointment along with all options for payment. There were no surprises. I highly recommend this office! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. If you are looking for a friendly office that puts you at ease from the moment you walk in the door, this is where you should go

This place is awesome! I had a root canal go sideways and needed a quick extraction. Had some complications with my Insurance footing the bill but luckily the billing staff was able to figure out why the insurance wasn’t covering the procedure and quickly corrected the problem. The billing problem was because the procedure was going to be inclusive of an implant but I decided to go with dentures. To top it all off my dentist was awesome. She knows how to wiggle that tooth out of socket. Very patient and worked the tooth out and got the job done. Thanks so much for the great service y’all. Dave

I received the best service at the Aspen Dental on General Booth Blvd in Va Beach due to having a bad experience at a previous location. I barely made my appt due to the distance, but I can say the drive was worth it. From the start of my insurance verification to being the last person to walk out the door for the night! This was best experience I ever had at any dental office. Truly, Dr. Phaup has a great staff! Especially Jordan M, who made my experience most remarkable! After a relatively slow start, Jordan (treatment coordinator) was able to maneuver through tigh schedules to squeeze me in so I can follow along my treatment plan. I wish I could give Aspen Dental at Red Mill 10 Stars!!! From my initial visit, which was a consultation for a tooth that needed to be extracted on a Saturday morning, I was extremely impressed with the staff, the office and the experience. I was grateful for the ability to have my extraction appointment on the following Monday and that experience was AMAZING!!! The doctor numbed me, and I only felt a small pinch! She pulled my tooth out and I barely felt any pressure. I had to ask her, "It's out already?" After my last dental debacle prior to coming here, I had a bit of anxiety about going to the dentist for first time in my life. But Apsen Dental at Red Mill has restored my faith. I went in for an emergency extraction. The team there was accommodating, knowledgeable, fast and very kind. On the day of my procedure I was in and out with in 45 minutes or less it was super fast. My mother and I recently had our very first visit at Aspen Dental and we had a GREAT EXPERIENCE! Everyone was so pleasant and respectful and caring. The receptionist had a very professional and graceful attitude and was very knowledgeable. All of the nurses and doctors were extremely nice and helpful. From the time I walked in the office to the time I left, I was treated with the utmost professionalism and care. While waiting, I observed one of the dentists come and answer a phone call from patient who had a question. Everyone was thorough as far as information I needed from using my dental plan insurance to caring for the procedure I had done. The only drawback was the location of the office. I live in Norfolk and the office in Va. Beach had the earliest opening ( the Norfolk office didn't have an opening until on a Thursday). But you know what they say, sometimes you gave to go out of your way to get the best!

I have never left a dental office smiling, I've been always in severe pain or drooling and whining. Aspen dental made me feel amazing by being so concerned, helpful and caring. I was smiling from ear to ear because the pain that I had been experiencing days before was finally gone and they pulled my bad tooth with no effort at all and faster than I expected. I was in and out of their office, and now that I'm filling out this review 2 days later, I can say I'm so thankful and pleased with the work they did and if I ever need dental work done again, Aspen Dental will be the place I go for sure. 😁

I recently took my granddaughter to Aspen Dental for a cleaning after having her braces removed. The hygienist, Kennady, was amazing! She was very gentle, yet thorough with the procedure. My teen granddaughter was very relaxed and comfortable, thanks to the calming nature of Kennady. The staff is friendly and the office is clean/spotless! I love this place, from the receptionist, to the billing staff, the assistants, the techs, dentists, surgeon, everyone! They made something I was dreading into a very easy process. They're affordable, the office is immaculate, and I am actually not dreading to return for further work! The surgeon and assistant who performed my wisdom tooth extraction were absolutely wonderful. I had the most amazing experience at Aspen Dental at Red Mill Commons yesterday. They are professional, thorough, and very courteous, you could'nt ask for more! I went in to get the free X-rays and consultation. The services they provided to me that day were free to me, although the true worth and value of it is priceless, and they conducted the services in a spirit of excellency although they were free! Everyone there at Aspen Dental did their job in a spirit of excellency! They were so precise and thorough they left no stone unturned. I was so amazed by the way that I was treated there it divine! The presence of God Is there. After conducting a very thorough examination they made sure I understood the treatment that I needed then I was referred to someone to discuss payment arrangements. I was already Amazed by the professionalism and courtesy of the doctors and x- ray technician then I was escorted to the front office to talk with the person that handles billing and credit and she was amazing also! She was very patient and thorough and she did all she could to make sure I understood my options and how the line of credit there works. I qualified for a line of credit to help me pay for the services that I needed. I left Aspen Dental with a great understanding of the dental work I needed an awesome treatment plan that was thoroughly explain to me as well as the financing to help get it all done! Mission accomplished! I am now on my way to working a treatment plan that will help me maintain a beautiful smile as well as alleviate pain and keep me from having more serious problems! I'm so glad I went to Aspen Dental at Red Mill Commons! It was a Great experience! I left Aspen Dental feeling like I had seen the best dentist in this area and I had made the best decision I could for my dental health!

The drs and the treatment plan advisor made me feel so much better about the stuff i had to get dine from the actual procedure to the payment options. I’ve been petrified to walk into a dental office. I have not been in a dentist chair in over ten years and I was very embarrassed about my smile and letting someone look into my mouth. When I tell you that this was probably the best medical experience of my life. I’m having a ton of dental work done in a week. I can’t wait to go back. The drs. And the manager were absolutely amazing. It was such a positive experience front start to finish. And did I mention AFFORDABLE!! I am still shocked about the price. I would recommend this place to EVERYBODY!!!

First off I liked how easy it is to get to, I get nervous driving to new places that I’m not familiar with so that right there was great. The office was clean, and everyone was extremely friendly which put my nerves at ease. They were gentle with my teeth and answered any questions I had, I felt welcomed and comfortable in the chair. I had 9 teeth removed due to cancer or treatment for it. I used sedation which I will now always use for future extractions. Minimal discomfort and swelling.The temporary denture fit perfect. I had 20 extractions and temporary dentures placed all in 1 day and the whole staff never made me feel bad about being anxious. The receptionist upon entering, the assistants, surgical assistants, staff assistants, lab technician (who did an excellent job on my upper plate repair), dentist for initial visit...She made me feel comfortable and at ease. The oral surgeon Eric Olendorf, DDS explained everything to be done ...carefully reviewing my medical history while easing my anxiety for procedures. Unfortunately I still don’t have dental insurance, but my wisdom teeth decided to take action and push me to go. I had such a wonderful experience with everyone here. The staff was so friendly and helpful, they gave me the answers to my concerns without beating around the bush. I had off and on tooth pain for about two weeks. It finally kept hurting all the time, and really bad when I ate. Scheduled my appointment for the next morning no problem. Was told I'd need to have a tooth pulled, which I knew since it broke while I was pregnant. They said they could schedule me for later in the day, but I asked to do it then if possible. They had no issue with doing it right then. The doctor, I forgot her name, was amazing and WOULD NOT let me feel any pain. When I had my broken wisdom tooth extracted years ago, the doctor didn't care and I felt every bit of it. Once I got home, I saw that I had an email from them sent before my appointment saying they needed to reschedule, but they never mentioned a word while I was there.

As a new patient with Aspen Dental, I was immediately impressed with the office space and welcoming staff. From the front desk, to everyone behind the doors, it was a very professional yet comfortable feeling throughout the visit. The x-ray technician was friendly and gentle when it came to placement of the spacers (film holders) and the hygienist was very pleasant explaining things throughout the exam. I was really impressed with her light touch too. Dr. Phaup was amazing and the room seemed to light up when she came in, which immediately put me at ease. She has a nice chairside manner and made me feel like she had all the time to answer my questions and concerns. I visited this location twice before in 2020 and liked it, they had friendly staff and open availability (would have rated 5 stars) However in the last few months its become more difficult to get a simple cleaning appointment and I finally was able to book one for May (several weeks in advance with their already limited availability). It’s also worth mentioning I have 2-3 weekdays off each week so I have a pretty reasonable open schedule! About a week before my appointment I received a call from the receptionist stating she needed to reschedule my appointment. No explanation, apology or any further information provided. We went back and forth on possible dates after giving her all my days off in May before agreeing on May 24th. I get an email the next day confirming my appointment for JUNE 24th, so frustrating. Called another location nearby (who’s receptionist was much more helpful/understanding) and was informed that y’all don’t even have a dental hygienist at all right now with the next opening being in AUGUST 🤷🏼‍♀️ A little honesty goes a long way with customer service. Your location is much closer to my house, so maybe I’ll try again in 6 months in the hopes y’all get it together.

Was able to get in the same day with an emergency appointment . They were able to do x-rays and met with dentist to go over them and the tooth that was the issue. They were able to do the emergency extraction same day. I was in and out of the office in under 1 and a half hours. I was lucky they were able to do the procedure same day as I know that is not always the case. And for it being so convenient and an out of the blue issue the price was reasonable and affordable.

Phaup and Kerin were awesome. They took the time to answer all of my questions. Janay, the practice manager, was amazing to work with. She explained all of the paperwork and pricing upfront and was willing to work with me on the best way to structure payments. I highly recommend this practice. I have a lot of dental anxiety and have been avoiding going to have my teeth cleaned for 3 years. Kennedy did my cleaning and she was awesome. She talked to me the whole time and told me exactly what she was doing, which helped my anxiety. Dr. Phaup completed a filling on my back molar and made the process as comfortable as possible. I voiced my discomfort with the use of suction throughout the procedure and she immediately adapted to using a smaller suction and minimizing its use. I highly recommend this practice! I will definitely be returning!

I came in Thursday evening in tears due to anxiety and teeth pain, and they were able to get me an evaluation first thing Friday and into their surgeon on Saturday. The ladies at the front desk are very nice and helpful. The xray lady was good. The hygienist did a really good job,really good at giving shots no pain. The dentist was great also no pain shot and tooth pulling. On site lab! The new tooth they made me looks good, but the whole apparatus seems to big to much for one tooth. I called the office 2 days later ,I had serval questions that was the 8 and today is the 21 and still no call back. Over all very pleased with aspen but very disappointed in there follow up.

Aspen dental General booth is the best, had my two wisdom 🦷 taken out last night, came in Thursday noon, was evaluated the same day and had my procedure same day at about 6:30 PM. Went to pick up my medication and the pharmacy was not in partnership with Tricare, called their Oncall number and the Doctor got back to me ASAP to make sure I got my medications through another pharmacy it's a blessing to have ASPEN DENTAL, they have a great team. Aspen Dental, Virginia Beach. From start to finish a very good experience. I am not a big fan of going to the dentist and have many painful experiences. Whitney -called to confirm appointment. The day of, she was at the front desk helpful, cheerful and kind. Destiny -took me back for my X-Rays and was very gentle as I have a very small jaw. She had a great sense of humor and made it fly by. Dr. Phaup - awesome Dentist! - she came in and took a look at the culprit tooth that was causing so much discomfort. She agreed.. "it must come out". I was happy to hear it, but also afraid of the procedure. She calmed me by explaining everything step by step and assuring me that there would be very little pain. The following Monday it was time. Sumone- was the procedure attendant and she came in and immediately had me smiling and talking.. a very professional yet warm person who is a great asset to Aspen. Time to pull the tooth.. my back molar. Ouch.. but, NO ouch.. even when it proved to be a tough tooth to pull. Dr. Phaup called in Dr. Boice, a strong fella who made light work of my stubborn tooth.. it was out! No pain, lots of compassion for a 50 year old cry baby such as myself. Janay- The finance person was helpful and very detailed with answers to all of my questions. The financial was covered by my insurance with a small copay. Very easy process. So, I took the time to name everyone I had contact with because they deserve it. They are a great team and each one of them contributed to a a comfortable, almost "fun" time at the dentist.. who would have thought that it was possible! ** There was a gentleman that came in and did my dental hygiene evaluation/consultation. He was thorough and informative. I regret I did not get his name.

I had an exceptional visit with Aspen Dental at the Red Mill office. The entire staff went above and beyond for me. I had a cracked tooth and needed to be seen asap to start dental care. From the phone call to x-ray tech, to Karen the dental hygienist to Adam the treatment plan coordinator, to Dr. Phaub was a extremely pleasant experience. I have an extreme fear of dentists and Dr. Phaub was so nice and kind did not judge me for not being able to get proper dental care. She just said lets get me started on the road to dental recovery by getting my teeth fixed and moving forward. I highly recommend Aspen Dental for all your dental needs. You will be very pleased with the care you receive from this group! If I could rate them at 100% and above I would. This office was about 30 minutes from my home but was able to get me in asap which is what I needed. Adam then took into his office to show me the bread down of the costs of me complete dental plan. I was overwhelmed at the total cost of my care. Adam was so knowledgeable about showing me some other dental insurances that would be a better choice for me to have and would cover more of my dental care and leave a lower out of pocket expense for me. I was like great I plan on purchasing these 2 dental plans as will need a full upper denture plus a partial on the bottom. First they have to make the bottom teeth stronger to be able to hold the bottom denture in place so that's going to me crowns on those teeth. Adam spent a lot of time with me and my husband to explain all my options. So in April of 2021 I will begin my dental care. Love this group so much and highly recommend them for all your dental needs. So I was happy that one of their offices was able to get me seen on March 4th and then start me on the road to dental recovery.

This was my daughters fourth time at the dentist, >>first time at this practice!! The first 3 times was at a pedodontist (dentist who specializes in children) and she refused to let them touch her! With this team at Aspen she hopped right in the chair with a HUGE smile and let them polish, floss, and do the fluoride treatment. She didn’t want to leave! Haha. Because I live on the Eastern Shore of Viriginia finding good dentists is virtually impossible. I had the most horrifying experience of my life at a dental office there. Staff and facility were unprofessional and conditions of the facility was unsanitary. It truly was the little shop of horrors. Then I contacted Aspen dental and couldn't believe the difference. After explaining my experience to Janay, the office manager she told me that would not be my experience here. She was spot on. Went in having shards of a tooth that had already been removed still in my gum that had been left in by a different dental practice. Was apprehensive going in because I have had many bed experiences at dentist. But I was in quickly and Dr. Phaup was very nice and it took her like 3 minutes to get everything out. They called and told me I could come in early if I would like because they have had cancellations . When I had the extraction the dentist took care kept adding Novocain as needed to keep pain low .
