Everyone treated me so nice! The dental nurse assistant Natasha was very nice and welcoming. She was very helpful with information I needed based on insurance. Dr Patel is a sweetheart and was genuinely concerned about my past experiences with dental offices. The facility was squeaky clean. Everyone there really provided me with greatest care. They also gave me a nice big reusable tote as new patient. The office also provides refreshments such as coffee, teas and water, which was super convenient. They are truly awesome there! And I’m just so happy I finally found a dentist I can be open with and most importantly TRUST.

I came in with pain on the left side of my mouth. The office is very professional, including the administrative staff! I was seen very timely according to my scheduled appointment. The service from Dr. Nick Patel and his wonderful assistant was outstanding. They made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. My insurance didn’t cover one of the procedures, but they informed me of other available options and offered me assistance. They made it possible for me to get all the services needed today. I went home happy and pain free!! If you’re looking for a great dental office, fabulous staff and facilities, and a caring dentist, ask for Dr. Nick Patel at Advanced Family Smiles! Advanced Family Smiles takes such great care of every patient. I always feel like a part of their family each and every appointment. The hygienists are so friendly and caring and the doctors are absolutely amazing. They truly care about your comfort during your appointment. They stop to make sure you’re comfortable and feeling good during any procedure. A positive experience is definitely their priority. I love this dentist so much. My whole family comes here and are loved by all of the staff. If you’re looking for a dentist, Advanced Family Smiles is the way to go!

I love this practice. I had a cavity filled years ago that may need to be redone and the doctor doesn’t force things before they need to be done. My only issue is when I come in I feel like the hygienists are sales people and aren’t always worried about what I need but making money for the practice. I take pretty good care of my teeth and don’t have many cavities, so I hate when they want to sell me a 100 dollar treatment that isn’t covered by insurance. It’s hard to say no- and I would prefer to not be bombarded. Present me with treatments that are covered by ins and then let me know what my options are beyond it

I’ve had traumatic dental experiences and extreme fear of dental work since then. After multiple visits with Dr. Patel over the past month correcting dental issues, I’d trust him to perform any type of dental work he’d recommend. He and his support staff made sure I was comfortable and pain free during every procedure. The office is clean, and the staff is kind. The pricing is fair for the work they do. I recommend this office and doctor to anyone, even those with hesitation due to fear of pain. I am grateful a friend recommended this office.

Today was my first day using this dentist and I must say it was a great quick experience for me. I came in a half hour early and they took me back right away, I was created by a very nice hygienist assistant. The doctor came in and was super nice. I got my wisdom tooth extracted and it was literally one, two, three. They numbed me up super well, gave me head phones to put on with my choice of music, and warm cloth to calm me even more. I was super nervous and anxious, but they reassured me that the doctor was great and he seriously was. He numbed with numbing cream, then waited for needles I didn’t feel them at all, then when it was time to take the tooth off it literally took one minute!!! I was so shocked by how quick the procedure was. I am currently healing up and I have already recommended several of my family members and friends to them. Good job today! My husband and I attended Advanced Family Smiles in an emergency. They offered same day appointment. Because of a very bad childhood experience at the dentist abroad I was extremely anxious. The staff were excellent, offered reassurance and alleviated my anxiety. I had a total of 3 separate procedures with minimal pain. Today was my first visit after returning to Philly. This Dental office was absolutely Devine! From the Dr, hygienist and all the front staff. Absolutely incredible! For so long I have had a fear of dentist. That fear keep me from going for dental services regularly. Today was my first full visit here, and my fears are pretty much gone. This office understood my fear of pain, and I must say I HAD NO PAIN!!! Some slight pressure, but I was still able to relax. Sarah, the assistant who did my service, was AWESOME!!! She made me feel comfortable, she ask during the procedure if I was ok, she was even gentle, when she had to be a little stronger with ensuring my results where perfect!! I am truly happy!!! I also made my next appointment!!

What a treat this truly was...! I usually avoid the dentist like a CAVITY (LOL) but after much hiding I decided to go back. I just knew I was in for trouble, however my experience couldn't have been further from it! I always have an amazing time at Advanced Family Smiles, if you can believe that! I was greeted ever so politely by the friendly staff. Any insurance issues are handled with such professionalism it almost feels liker we are friends. Everyone was super nice but my hygienist was the star of the show today. She somehow remembered me from my previous visit (1 year ago!) and she handled my cleaning with such fervor and vigor I could not believe it. I took her advice from my previous visit and my gum scores actually increased! I couldn't believe it. Her friendly banter really made a possibly painful process go very smoothly. I hope to see her back. Her working in tandem with Dr. Patel was seamless. What a GOAT that guy is btw See ya in 6 months!!

Let me just say this was the best dental experience I ever had. I had the worst case of dental phobia ever. I had it so bad that I kept postponing my appointment. To be honest the minute Dr. Nick L Pated said that I Needed fillings. I knew I wasn't coming back. I only made the return appointment because the dental assistant was right there next to me. And I returned because I ran out of lies to tell as to why I couldn't make it. So I went. when I got there I wanted to run right back out. I literally sat in the seat and started crying. But they made me feel so comfortable. They even had headphones for me to listen to so I could relax. When I say advanced is an understatement, I mean it with all sincerity. What ever that was they rubbed on my gums to numb it. It worked so good. When I tell you I felt nothing, I mean nothing. If you have any fear or anxiety about going to the dentist like myself. Please, I promise you. This place will remove all your fears. Thank you Dr. Nick L Pated. You're #1 in my book. Because of you I can hold on to the few good teeth I have left a little longer. Although customer service was great, I’m now terrified to go to the dentist. When I got scaling done, was told that they never numb the patients for that procedure so I sat there in pain while the woman was deep cleaning my gums. My former co worker had the same service done and she was given medication to numb her mouth.

My insurance changed a few times, and when it changed back to one AFS took, I returned to AFS because I liked the environment and care I received 3 years ago. I needed to get a filling replaced, and they suggested doing another filling (stating it is a small cavity, but will grow). I decided against the cavity filling because it felt unnecessary at this time. The doc respected that. I waited 12 days to write my review to ensure I could offer an accurate review. The filling feels good, but 12 days later, my face is still bruised from getting my filling replaced.

Terrified of Dentist! Came here for a second opinion as my regular dentist did not do the work that truly needed to be done in the first place. So I came here crying they were very caring Dr. Calzada explained my options that l had. Went with my root canal that was supposed to be done in the first place with another dental office. Mouth worked on back to back, but glad I came here Dr assistant was very sweet and caring and made sure I was ok as listening to an iPad and music there to keep me relaxed. The whole office was very kind soon as I walked in door. Thank you cause I will be returning here for my regular cleanings. Make sure you always get a second opinion God Bless!

In the pst 2 months I have needed some major dental work! I was in so much pain 5 days before I was going to give birth and they treated me so nice. I had two teeth pulled and Dr. Patel was so gentle with me. Fast forward to now and ai was having more issues and Dr. Patel and his staff have been nothing but patient and respectful to me. I am glad to have a dentist who knows I need alot of work done but its going at a pace we’re everything can heal properly so we can move on to the next step. Thanks to the entire staff ☺️

I’ve had a multitude of fillings that needed to be done a crown, and extraction with a bone graft as well. Family smiles took me as an emergency patient with excruciating pain and just in jest I pointed to implant picture saying that what the future holds for me because of the health of my teeth. So when they were planning to pull the tooth they recommended a bone graft to get an early start for when I eventually get my implants.Having said that having payment plan helped tremendously. I hope I will have a long relationship with them

Like many others, I have a fear of the dentist. So when I chipped my front tooth, I was worried I was going to be in a lot of pain and anxiety the entire visit. The team here took care of me, answered every question, and worked with me to help take care of my problem while making sure I had everything I needed during the surgery. I'll be going back in 2 weeks to get my permanent crown and I look forward to seeing them again. 2nd visit went well, looking forward to going back to finish up.

Dr. Abrey extracted a molar for me and also did some fillings. I dreaded tooth extraction but the Dr. made me understand the whole procedure patiently and made sure I was comfortable during each step in the process. After the extraction, he made sure to follow up with me. As a matter of fact, I did not have to take any pain meds after day 2 of the tooth extraction.

Dr. Patel was magnificent. When I flinched in pain, he stopped, told me what steps he would take to address my pain, did so and gave me some time to adjust, and continued when I felt ready. I feel incredibly listened to and my worries quelled. I highly suggest being treated by Dr. Patel. :)

So happy I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Yoel Calzada-Sanchez on March 25th. I recently chipped my front tooth. He was able to do a repair called bonding and return my front tooth to looking normal. Dr. Calzada has been my dentist in the past and I truly trust him. A big thank you to Dr. Calzada-Sanchez. Had my teeth cleaned and x-rays done on April 2. The hygienist was awesome. Back to the dental office on April 6th. This time, unfortunately for a tooth extraction. Dr. Calzada-Sanchez, put me at ease, and administered the Novacaine (which I did not feel). I was given excellent care the entire time. When, this area heals, I hope to get a dental implant. Thanks again, Dr. Calzada-Sanchez for the 5 star service. At the dental office on 4/20 and Dr. Calzada-Sanchez removed the sutures. Area is healing well. Whatever you need for good dental care, the dentist and staff are the best. Time for my 6 month teeth cleaning 10/3/22. Taylor, the hygienist was really great. Very professional. Great job on my cleaning. Thank you Saw my dentist on November 16th, to have a very old crown redone. Dr. Calzada took great care of my problem. He is a great dentist. Very qualified in his field. Very caring. Old crown was removed and tooth area was redone and temporary crown was placed. Back to dentist on December 2nd to have the new crown from the lab cemented in place. Great experience. Five ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ service. Advanced Family Smiles, gets my vote for a great place to receive quality dental care. I saw my dentist, Dr. Yoel Calzada-Sanchez on 12/9, 12/15, 12/30 and 1/23/23, to have two additional very very old crowns replaced. (my teeth are "OLD")😁.............. I received excellent care from my dentist (Dr. Calzada-Sanchez) and from the Advanced Family Smiles Staff. (Don't be afraid, they will take awesome care of you) (2/7/2023 back to see my dentist, Dr. Calzada-Sanchez). This time to have the permanent crown placed on crown #3.. Now taking a break but I will be back to have another very old crown redone in the spring. Very happy with the great care that I received. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Would 100% recommend this office. Everyone there is extremely friendly and makes you feel calm. I have an extreme fear of doctors especially dentists and they made me feel comfortable the entire time. I called the same day to get a wisdom tooth extracted due to pain and they took me in same day extracted the tooth and took care of a cavity I had. Erin, one of the hygienists, is terrific. Very detailed, she makes sure you are not experiencing Any pain. She's fast, nice and knowledgeable. Dr. Patel is calm, thorough exams, he checks in with you during procedures. Really excellent. The Staff are nice and friendly, they do everything they can to work with you financially. Everyone wears gloves and masks, multiple glove changes throughout all cleanings and procedures and the office is very clean.

I was greeted with a smile when I entered. The lady let me sit a few minutes and then walked me back to be examined. She helped me with my coat, comfort,and took Xrays. She was efficient, professional and friendly. I had the price also discussed by a pleasant employee too.The Dentist was excellent. She sat and reviewed details with me,answered questions and made sure I was comfortable and not in pain. She took care of a tooth in the front of my mouth,a filling. Dr. was very kind & easy to talk too about my situation. Dr. was very confident about how to help me. He thoroughly explained ever detail having to do with my situation. The people who work here are nice, but I find it really odd that they didn’t notify me that I had credit that was supposed to be reimbursed (as the insurance covered more than expected) until after I needed another procedure done.

My Most recent visit to advance family smiles was the BEST. I entered a cozy waiting room and was greeted warmly by staff. I was taken care of by a skillful hygienist as usual who appeared to have read my chart and was well aware of my treatment plan. The hygienist was patient with questions and explained things in a way a patient could understand and take charge of their oral health. As always I was treated with respect and dignity. I was made aware of potential changes and challenges I might face with my oral care. As always I received a consult with the Dentist who also remembers my treatment plan and takes special care to provide me with the best possible solutions for my oral health. I look forward to Advance Family Smiles becoming the dental office of choice for my wife and young daughter as well in the near future.

The staff here was awesome! Erin was great and probably did more for me than any hygienist I’ve ever seen! I’m a scaredy-cat when it comes to the dentist and every singe person I interacted with here comforted me (even down to holding my hands when it came time for needles). I’m afraid of the dentist from bad experiences growing up. I haven’t been to a dentist in many years. I had to do a really intense deep cleaning including my gums. It wasn’t completely painless. But they made it a pleasant experience. ***Update, went back for 3 filling replacements. This was the first completely painless filling procedure I’ve ever done. Very happy with the work. Only complaint was they told me I had to come back and complete something like 20 total repairs at the receptionist counter. I would have preferred the dentist had talked me through that. So I’m going back a few more times. The white fillings look amazing. I’ll be telling all my friends as soon as I can feel my face again.

As many times as I’ve been to many different dentist offices, this organization has been the most comforting and accommodating. Every time I go to the dentist, Dr. OLena Akbulut has been a pure delight along with dental assistant Natasha. They’ve made sure that my visit was pleasant and and that I was comfortable, they explained very thoroughly the things that they were doing during my procedure. They also asked me very frequently how I felt and if I was okay, cleaned and massaged my jaw when needed. They also give you chap stick and other great goodies to help with great teeth health! I love this dentist office and recommend it's! I've been going to this dentist for about 6 years. There are plenty of dentist offices in my area but I still go about 25 minutes out, just because I love their service. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. The ambience is serene, so you don't feel nervous being at the dentist. There are drinks in the waiting room, as well as a massage chair but they usually call you back before you could get comfortable.

I have not been to a dentist in about 5 years. It’s definitely been a long time. My anxiety is very very bad. It gets to the point where my whole body trembles when I go to a dr. Especially the dentist. Dr. Sanchez was understanding and kind! I just had a full exam and three filling done by him. He knew how nervous and anxious I was and he made it painless ! I felt absolutely nothing! The office is amazing too! I called in a panic asking for a same day appointment and they made it happen. If you struggle with anxiety and need a dentist this is the place to go! I have a cleaning scheduled for Wednesday. When I find myself feeling nervous or panicking about the upcoming procedure, I keep telling myself that Dr. Sanchez is going to make it okay! The office manager is also available sometimes after hours to accept calls if you have a dental emergency. Any other dentist will turn you away. Advanced smiles dentistry goes above and beyond for every patient especially if you have anxiety and feel like you absolutely cannot wait weeks on end for an appointment.

Dr Patel and Brielle were so informative and understanding of my nervousness and put my fears to rest. The staff seems to be efficient with time management . I used to think you couldn't have it all; it's either professionalism or cordiality, and if I had to sacrifice one it would be cordiality. After my appointment I realized you could have both and more. When people say they would travel out of city or state to see a doctor, these have to be some of the ones they are talking about. Xray results were explained to me in an understandable manner, various questions were thoroughly answered in more detail than expected, options moving forward were addressed, genuine concern was expressed for any perceived misgivings, and even financing was concrete with no room for mystery fees. I felt like I knew what was going on at all times, like my concerns were addressed, and the whole thing felt very pleasant and conversational. All of those elements of bedside manner are icing on the cake. The actual dental work was top shelf and was approached with a no-stone-left-unturned mentality, very methodical and meticulous. The knowledge base was clearly there from the answers to my technical questions. Dexterity was evident in how smoothly the process went. I'm sure this is a marker of attentiveness for more than just me, but I wasn't gagging on the water for the first time. I took the time to write this review, which I seldom ever do, because I felt the effort and attention that was given to me had to be reciprocated.

My children and I started going to Advanced Family Smiles in 2017, thus far all of my visits have been great w/Dr Olena and her assistant Nisha (who btw does excellent work as well). My children are seen by Dr Calzada who has been very good and patient with them. We also love our 6mo dental cleaning visits with Erin the hygienist who's always so cheerful 😊, energetic and just a fountain of information. The office is strict about their 48hr notice if you're not showing up for an appointment but are accommodating when you need/want to be seen. I highly recommend Advanced family smiles.

I chose the office because it was in the area and I had just moved, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean, spacious, and well run the office is! My dental hygienist was extremely thorough, I feel like it was the best cleaning I had in years! I was very well taken care of. When I met the Dr, we decided I would replace my front tooth, which was damaged many years ago and had a corner broken off, with a crown. Dr Calzada did not stop until that front tooth was perfect. When the first crown came in from the lab and did not fit properly in size and color, he did not settle. He is a doctor of great integrity and professionalism. Dr Calzada wanted to make sure my smile was perfect and that I would leave the office confident in the work that he provided- which I did! As for the staff- Diana, Luis, Natasha I am also forever grateful! You all are professional and most importantly KIND people! You took the time to not only perform you jobs, which you did VERY well, but to talk with me and get to know me. You took a very stressful situation and helped guide me through it. My brother was experiencing severe pain in his mouth and wherever we went we were told the same thing but nothing helped. Then I found this place on Google and I’m so glad I did. Dr. Oleena was able to cure my brother’s issues with her special care and recommendations and she is so kind, thoughtful and a true professional. You can tell she really cares about your dental health. This is the best dental practice I’ve ever been to and I’ve switched my whole family over and they have been raving about the service. My mom has anxiety and has had terrible experiences elsewhere and it traumatized her to not going back to the dentist. Erin was so patient and kind while I explained my mom’s sensitive condition and she was able to make my mom feel super comfortable. Today was my first time at this dentist and I love it already! Everyone there was happy and professional. The office was very clean and organized. They have a new machine to take videos and pictures for Invisalign trays and retainers it was so cool to watch. Way better compared to The molds I had done in the past at my previous dentist. I called today and they made time for me to get a same day appointment. They fixed a chip in my tooth and my new Invisalgn retainers should be arriving in two weeks! Can’t wait to go back.

My brother lives in the area and goes here, so when my 9 year old daughter (who is between dentists since hers just retired) fell and broke her two front teeth last night, I was able to get an emergency appointment with Dr O early this morning. Her, Erin, and Nisha (and the rest of the staff, of course, but these three ladies were the ones that helped us directly today) were beyond professional- they were so calm, kind, and patient with my very scared little girl who was not only in pain, but scared and embarrassed of her appearance. They were able to handle her anxiousness, which is quite a feat. I couldn’t imagine having gone somewhere else. The practice fixed her up good as new and regained my daughters confidence! Clean and bright office and I would give the stars if I could!

I have just gotten finished paying multiples of thousands of dollars at another dentist. I felt like he was scamming me. I would go in to get one tooth done and automatically he said I had another problem. I recently went to Advanced Family Smiles. I was greeted immediately with a smile and was taken back to the dentist! I was petrified and she could tell I had been mistreated by my previous dentist. At this point, I have nothing left on my insurance. I got my teeth xrayed and examined. We made a short term plan and I returned the next week. She said she had to pull an infected tooth and build up my jaw bone. After having my mouth numbed, within three minutes my tooth was pulled! No issues. She built up my bone, sutured it closed and I was done in 30 minutes! I highly recommend this office on Academy Road. Everyone was so nice and kind. I was taken back immediately upon the time they set my appointment for, did the work themselves (without sending me out to a specialist) and set up my follow up appointment. If you want skilled, kind and fair-priced dental team, please call them! Thank you!

Go to Erin for your teeth cleaning she is THE BEST!!!!!! Seriously so friendly and makes you feel like you have been friends for years. Went by very fast. Dr. Olena was the dentist and she didn’t hurt me one bit. She’s very knowledgeable and made me feel like I was in good hands. The only thing you might want to have is insurance. Great practice, haven’t been to a dentist since I was a kid. Came in because I had a small fracture on my tooth. I ended up getting a root canal, but Dr. Olena and her assistants were patient with me, and were informative when explaining what was being done. When it was finished Dr. Olena explained what the plan was moving forward for treatment, and answered all of my questions. Would 100% recommend them to anyone!

Especially today, Natasha K. brought down my nervous feelings by talking to me and made me feel better! I was so scared to go to the dentist for years. Then I found Dr. Calzada. He is literally the best dentist I have ever met. He is so gentle and he understands how uncomfortable I am with needles. I’m so happy we switched to Advance Family Dental this year! The entire staff was so friendly and my hygienist, Erin, explained everything to me in detail and wasn’t overly clinical or talking over my head. She also used a pick tool that had water with it so it was nice not feeling or hearing the traditional crunch and scrape when she was cleaning my teeth! I went to Dr Olena (hope I spelled your name right) totally relaxed me fixed me up as I wanted my smile back and the last part was crowns on my front teeth. They use a better lab than most . People thought I had a mouth of implants .they are beautiful! Plus she is always there for me whenever I need adjustments or anything else.and there is a massage chair in the lobby if you need it -No Pain I highly recomend

It took me sometime to revisit a New Dentist because of my past experiences with other offices. I was skeptical at first but when I entered the office instantly the lobby looks Professional and they had coffee, water, tea available. The receptionist was polite and when I was called in for xray and review the Hygienist was polite, professional and kind. I was then switched to another room where my cleaning was getting done and she was very nice and when she started to clean my teeth I could have fallen asleep because she had the most gentle hands I didn't get poked, sprayed with too much water. They took cleanliness and safety during this Pandemic very seriously. You have to call while in the parking lot to confirm you have arrived before they let you into the waiting area, they are all wearing masks, they have a surgery level air purifier in the waiting area, and the chairs are laid out in such a way that you may maintain social distancing recommendations. I've had a cleaning, and filling done, both went extremely smoothly - both fast and well done. It was the first time a dentist took the time to file down the fillings to the correct level before even having me double check my bite was good. Doctor Yoel Calzada-Sanchez takes the time to work through his recommendations, but does not push unnecessary procedures on you. Would highly recommend to anyone who needs a family dentist!

I was very scared to try a new dentistry and the recommendation came from my best friend to try Advance Family Smiles on Academy Road. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with smiles and made to feel at ease. The facility is so cozy and clean, definitely a bonus that they offer coffee. I couldn’t have been any more comfortable with Julie and Dr. Olena. I hadn’t been to the dentist in so long, needless to say, I was incredibly nervous but Julie took care of me with such gentleness and patience. She and Dr. Olena were unified in what they noticed or had concerns about (which Julie told me over and over how fine everything was and that it was all good news) and discussed every single thing with me first before making any final decisions or moving forward. I didn’t feel any pressure either. Every decision was completely left to me. The financial aspect too. Julie made sure my insurance covered any work that had to be done. The billing desk also reviewed any financial obligation for future visits and left it completely up to me with how I wanted to proceed. I can’t thank them enough for such an amazing dental visit experience as an adult. I will definitely be sticking with them for the long haul.

I recently had a tooth extraction and bone graph completed at Advanced Family Smiles on Academy Road in Northeast Philadelphia. Even though I am new to the office, everyone was so welcoming and friendly, as well as attentive and accommodating. On the day of the procedure, Dental Assistant Natasha Kopay noticed I was a bit nervous to undergo oral surgery and, without any prompting from me, she kindly gave me an iPad and headphones for listening to music of my choice, which helped a great deal. Dr. Nick Patel, who in my previous visit, helped me understand the odyssey that will go toward my new dental implant, also conducted my tooth extraction procedure. He gave me reassurances throughout the entire time I was lying in the chair. He carefully explained the reasons for his actions and what I should expect to feel, and he consistently asked how I was doing. I felt no pain, only the pressure he described. And when he was finished, and despite still being numb, I couldn’t help but smile when he said that everything went according to plan.

The was the first visit to a dentist for both of my kids. My youngest is very wiggly and hyperactive but the entire staff took their time to let the kids know what was going on every step of the way. Erin was especially wonderful! She is bubbly, knowledgeable, and amazing with kids. The office waiting room is clean and fresh and they also offer Kuerig beverages and have a massage chair. The exam rooms are neat, and state of the art. The doctor was kind and answered any questions we had, and even the receptionists were friendly and engaging. Great people and all smiling faces as they walked me through step by step procedures and paperwork. Even with a little miscommunication on my half they still worked in a way to thoroughly give my an xray, cleaning and exam. The waiting room wasn't crowded and from what I seen workers greet patients with friendly personal welcome. I feel good about the choice to go here. The dentist’s assistant, Natasha held my hand throughout the process and let me know what to expect. Dr. Calzada-Sanchez made sure I was completely comfortable throughout the procedure. With the exception of the needle I felt no pain at all. Had I found this place sooner I might not have waited so long to keep up with my oral health. Highly, highly recommend!

Edit: Unfortunately, I will have to look for a new dentist because of how expensive it is to get a cleaning. As someone who doesn’t have dental insurance, $150 is a lot out of pocket. Within 2 years, they’ve managed to almost double the original cost of when I first visited. There are other offices within a mile that is far less expensive. Incredibly thorough at what they do. And graciously friendly! I am always pleased with the work they do.

Needless to say, he is no longer my dentist, but, it truly was a blessing in disguise, as now Doctor Olena Akbulut of "advanced Family Smiles" will be my dentist for the rest of my life.😁 I was scheduled for my 1st time appointment the very next day after I called , and, was greeted warmly by the front reception. The office is immaculately clean, modern and state of the arts equipment. I even received a cute little welcome bag filled with goodies, and, their news letter with helpful dental tips. My first appt, i walk in the door, they give me a gift, YAY, they didn't know what service i was getting. Coffee and water while you wait, high tech advanced equipment, and an office of mostly women (which i am extremely proud to see). Dr Olena thoroughly xrayed my teeth and gums in preparation of a major surgery, and provided antibiotics prescription as requested by my surgeon and follow up. I needed gum treatments..boo. Lol. My anesthetition introduce herself to me that day before my procedure to ease any nerves. Breil was her name. Numbed my mouth so well i often, unless during pulling of plague, couldn't tell which area of my mouth she was even working on. That's great. She spoke in a familiar way to me which added another degree of comfort. Spectacular! Receptionist are kind and mild spoken. My only setback comes from me not taking better care of my teeth and gums. These procedures were costly and made me regret not taking better care to prevent and get regular cleanings. I sat wondering why i did this to myself and the dentist (who while this is how they make money I'm sure would prefer still if people took better care of their investment in their mandibles). I bought an electric toothbrush and soon will purchase a water pic as well. I prefer having my own teeth. My mother and brother lost all their teeth to gingivitis. Meat, and harder crunchy foods came off their lists of things to eat, not nearly as healthy. I implore everyone to care for their teeth now and teeth should be a part of regular healthcare as it could cause clogged arteries and surgical problems not to mention a degree of attractiveness to the face. I've never been a fan of the dentist, until now. From beginning to end, I had a great experience. The staff was friendly, I sat in the massage chair while I waited to be called (fortunately they called me fast, unfortunately I had to cut the massage short). The overall ambience is serene and they have television screens in all of the rooms in front of you and right above your head. This is perfect because you get to watch tv while they work on your teeth. They work fast but are thorough, I actually look forward to going to the dentist office now!

Amazing dental office. The team is 100 percent professional and the experience has been phenomenal. A few months ago, I was lucky to meet Dr. Patel who performed my first root canal. I’ve heard horror stories in regards to these kinds of procedures, but the work that Dr. Patel and his great assistant, Valentina, had done has put those horror stories to shame. Both Dr. Patel and Valentina’s main focus is comfort. They strive to make all experiences as painless as possible while making sure the job gets done efficiently and effectively. Dr. Patel does not take any chances. He is 100 percent honest and will lay out all of your options before moving forward. If you don’t understand something, he will help you understand without issue. He is great. The clinic also has amazing patient coordinator staff. Mesha Rodriguez in particular is “always” very polite and professional. She makes sure I’m well taken care off when it comes to patient experience, appointments and/or questions pertaining to billing or insurance. Also great! I have 0 negative comments about this dental office. Today, I received my second teeth cleaning by a very professional RHD named Brielle Rearick. She is new to the field and is doing an amazing job. I felt the passion she has for the work she does on a day to day basis which basically made me very comfortable before she began her great work. Great dental office and I recommend to anyone looking for a great experience.

Dr. Yoel Calzada-Sanchez is from another time it seems. He's respectful, ethical, sympathetic and from the look of the sutures he placed in my gum after the work he did on my tooth - he's obviously a very skilled surgeon. I'm in no pain and feel very lucky to have found such a trusted Dentist as I have much more work to do on my teeth. I've avoided the dentist for many reasons. I avoided feeling condescended to, humiliated and lectured. Dr. Calzada-Sanchez stated the facts but with NO JUDGMENT OR CONDESCENSION at all in his tone. The office is very nice and very clean. The staff is amazing. They went above and beyond to ease my anxiety. Mine was a dental emergency and since we're in the middle of a Pandemic it was tough finding an open office, let alone good dentist. God did me a solid here. They're taking every precaution, only seeing one patient at a time in a 2 hour window, disinfecting, wearing masks, gloves and eye protection (even for patients). For anyone who's experienced trauma or has crippling anxiety- this is the place for you. That said, if you're looking for a great dentist with old school class and a warm, caring staff - this is the place for you.

I’ve never been a fan of going to the dentist and finding a quality dentist office in Philly is not easy. I happen to be having pain in my gums a few months ago. I googled a same day urgent dentist and found Advanced Family Smiles. I called them. They got me in that same evening, as a new patient and even allowed me to come after my work hours so I didn’t have to miss work. When I arrived I quickly noticed it was in a nice area. Parking was convenient. When I walked in, it smelled and looked awesome. Whoever chose the decor, paint colors, etc. did that with much thought. It’s not always pleasant getting dental work but the atmosphere the decor, paint colors, etc bring the the office bring relaxation and peace. It’s always clean and smells good. They have an awesome massage chair, coffee and tea in the waiting area. Oh and the music the play throughout the office is great! The staff here from the front desk all the way to the dentists and hygienist in the back are awesome and friendly! Everyone is always smiling, asking about how you are or your day. They take time to ask questions to get to know you. They make you feel valued and comfortable. They are always on time! Never running late to see you at your appointment time. They are quick but thorough. They know what they are talking about and give the best dental care I’ve ever had. The definitely care about the health of my teeth and gums. When you get to the back and into the rooms they have high tech quality equipment from lighting, to X-ray machine, little cameras to get images of your gums and teeth. When they lay you back you have a tv on the ceiling to watch so you have something to keep your attention. The thought that was put into this office was super detailed and great choices. And the people they hire are from all different culture and backgrounds but they all give quality care and customer service. They are definitely keepers and I highly recommend this dental office.

I called this office after a google search because I broke a part of my tooth and was experiencing some discomfort. They already had some great reviews so I figured I would try them out. They got me in the same day. In addition to the broken tooth they revealed I had an infection and were able to take care of it all while I was there in the office that day. I also wound up needing a bone graft as well and they explained everything very thorough to make sure I knew what would happen if I didn't get the bone graft and felt like they were extremely patient and informative to my many questions. The staff was phenomenal and polite from the receptionist on up the line, they were all personable and showed genuine concern. Even though I was an emergency visit, it felt like I had been a patient in their office for years, and they have now gained a new patient. I have scheduled a follow up appointment for regular cleaning and maintenance. The office is clean and modern. From a massage chair and Keurig in the waiting room, to state of the art xray machines, and TVs in the room (on the wall and the ceiling) they really the do try and make an unpleasant experience for most people as pleasant as they can! Firstly, let me start by saying that I am extremely dental phobic due to some really terrible experiences in the past with other practices. My daughter visited AFS in 2017 and raved about it and encouraged me to go. I have let my dental health care lapse for quite a while and was even embarrassed to consider having work done! Two days before Christmas 😢, my diseased and painful tooth started to hurt and I suffered through the holiday. My son made me promise last night to make an appointment and I reluctantly called AFS this morning. I explained how fearful I was yet somehow even the receptionist made me feel like I was going to be okay. To my surprise,they scheduled me for immediate service at 2pm today! Dr Olena is the absolute best at soothing someone who is extremely anxious about dentistry! She spoke calmly and listened to my irrational feelings of fear and assured me that it is quite common. She was personable and put me at ease immediately and explained everything in advance of proceeding. LOL! They even provided headphones to drown out the sound of the tools and I blasted Drake while I was in the chair. I promised to review them here so that other people with extreme dental anxiety know that there's this phenomenal practice in our area. For the first time in a long time, I have scheduled a future appointment with Advanced Family Smiles and am actually looking forward to something I've come to dread!! Thank you SO much for everything!!!

I can't stand the dentist. Anxieties are always high for me. Natasha offered me headphones, they had TV's in the ceiling so you could watch if you chose during the procedure. Dr Calzada was awesome! An amazing experience. It was just so simple, but I ask when is a root canal and crown placement simple? Also, I was in and out. By far the best dental service I ever received. Dr. O is a sweetheart.

I don’t know exactly where to begin other than to say that at 59, my life’s experiences with dentists has been less than stellar. Then my son shared with me that he liked his dentist. So, with several teeth in need of care, I called Advanced Family Smiles and I’m glad I did. Their patient care is awesome and more importantly the so is the dental work they have done on me. I've had some extensive work done recently..and let me tell you i am a big cry baby when it comes to going to the dentist. However Dr Nick Patel was the best ! In about 5 visits I had all my work done and was really impressed with the finished product..my bottom partial plate looks amazing..he made sure i was numb enough to get the work done and i didnt feel a thing..i highly recommended if going here to ask for him and also want to make mention to his assistant Valentina..she was great to have there for me as her personality is very calm and warming..they make a great team..thanks agian to you both!]

I came to Advance family Smiles in Feb 2021. To make a long story short, due to years of chemo drugs and steroids for a medical condition I’m being treated for , my teeth were majorly affected. I walked around for almost a year, w/ missing front teeth , broken, ashamed and embarrassed. I had no idea , about the crushing effect this would have on my confidence and self esteem. I met with Dr Olena, the first time.I shared with her my medical history and what had gotten me to this point, to finally have the courage to come in and share these vulnerable emotions. At no time, did Dr. Olena make me feel self conscious, or less than . She went well out of her way , to make me feel truly comfortable and that their was light at the end of this tunnel. She came up with a game plan to bring my smile back. I can honestly say ,that as of 3/ 9/21. I have a full set of brand new upper and lower teeth !! These past few days , have truly been some of the happiest in a very long time !! Dr Olena ,even checked in on me over the wknd after my procedure to make sure I was comfortable and pain free! Highly recommend this place!!!!

Beautiful facility and fantastic staff. Needed an emergency extraction due to infection. From the woman who answered the phone and got me an appointment, same day, to Margie the tech who got me ready and relieved my anxiety, to Dr. Makani, whose bedside manner and surgical skill made this the easiest dental procedure I've ever had.
