After a tense few days with jaw pain, I found Exceptional Dental. As soon as I entered the office, I immediately felt at ease. The entire staff is kind, knowledgeable and competent; even the ambiance of the office is very calming. After my x-rays were taken, the dentist put the them up on the screen and explained everything to me; what the cause of my discomfort is, the work that needed to be done to fix it, and how it would be performed. When I left, I felt well informed and comforted. Very happy I found them. PS When I laid back flat in the exam chair, I had a bird's eye view of a TV set on the ceiling! How's that for thoughtful?

I had some dental work done and the dentist explained step by step what he was doing. I also had my cleaning right after. The hygienist was also very thorough. I definitely recommend them!

I haven't been to the dentist in a VERY long time and was worried what my dentist would think. My hygienist and Dr. Foster were incredibly understanding and I didn't feel judged at all. Dr. Foster thoroughly explained my x-ray results, all the procedures I would need done, and all my options. The front desk and administration is also super sweet and helpful. My treatment coordinator broke down and itemized all my procedures and how much each would be covered by insurance. Overall a really great experience!

I had a great experience getting a routine cleaning here. It had been a few years since my last cleaning due to COVID-19. Everyone was very nice including the dentist (Dr. Fleischer), assistant (Jarvis), and hygienist (Cathy). I also requested a new retainer for my bottom teeth, and it was made two days later. I ended up making a follow up appointment for my next routine cleaning too!

Beaux explained exactly what my costs would be, and Dr. Foster took the time to answer questions I had about my x-rays. My second visit went equally as amazing. The dentist who cleaned my teeth did an excellent job and sent me home with goodies and simple-to-follow advice on how to better care for my teeth. Front desk was sweet as well! My experience here was very good. The staff from Dr. Nguyen and Dental Assistant Reginald, Augustin were truly appreciative. The one thing I was not please with had nothing to do with exceptional dentist, or it’s staff but with the lab who actually I guess completed the dental work, very frustrated with that, I can’t wear my dentures because it’s very painful. I had been putting off going to the dentist for so long and am really glad I chose Exceptional Dental of Uptown. I immediately felt welcome, as the waiting room was very clean and comfortable. I was called back within minutes after filling out my paperwork, and Jarvis took my X-rays and helped get me situated. The hygienist, Cathy, was great and worked quickly. My teeth felt so clean afterwards. The dentist, Mary, came in and told me my X-rays looked good but did find a small cavity when physically examining my teeth. Never the news you want to hear, but they were able to fill it right then! No having to schedule another appointment, take time off of work, etc. And it only took about 10 to 15 minutes total. This was most impressive to me! I've never gotten a filling that quickly. She and her assistant, Reggie, continued to make sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure and even provided me with a warm neck pillow and blanket. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm looking forward to my next appointment! You don't have to dread the dentist when you go to Exceptional Dental of Uptown!

So far they’re living up to the name! The staff is great, especially Joann who treats me like a familiar face and is always there with the jokes. The space itself is nice, clean, and seems well cared for. I’ve gotten very good dental care from Dr. Foster and Beaux always makes a point of going over everything in my treatment plan in detail, including the cost breakdowns, which I really appreciate. I’ve only been seeing them since the fall but I’ve already recommended them to a few folks.

Reginal Augustin who did my x-rays and was gentle and made sure that I was comfortable at every step of the process. I was examined by one of the dentist and another hygienist who examined with kindness and consideration for the pain I was in. They were very helpful with explaining my issue's and options. Jarvis the x-ray tech was very professional, cordial and performed his duties very knowledgeable with a high level of expertise. He’s truly an asset to this dental facility. Ms Beaux the clinic manager was very informative explaining the various plans and alternatives to accommodate me based on the many different scenarios. Very professional. She’s definitely a keeper. Dr Foster performed the examination very thoroughly and provided me with 3 different proposals to consider prior to making a decision. Realizing that what I desired is very costly he stressed the economical sensibility as well as the practical serviceability for dentures for a much more reasonable price. A Rolls Royce is truly an outstanding vehicle but a Cadillac serves the same purpose. Affordability versus pushing a product that might be out of reach was taken into consideration. For that I commend his opinion and respect his judgment. All staff members deserve 5 stars and are truly an asset to the clinic.

My dentist of 25 years finally retired, leading me to find a new one. About a year ago I tried one but it wasn't a pleasant experience - I felt like I was just some number to them. There was absolutely no warmth or caring evident in anyone, from office staff right down to the dentist himself. But boy did I hit the jackpot here! From the moment I stepped into the facility I felt appreciated. Little things impressed me: everyone introduced themselves; they fully explained what they were about to do and why; and Dr. Foster gave a thorough explanation of my condition and the options available. Especially important for one who has limited financial resources, I was given a complete, printed appraisal of the costs of each course of treatment. They earned the five star rating.

The receptionists I encountered, Amanda and JoAnn were very professional, helpful and polite. I originally came in to get a teeth cleaning, however I did also request some urgent concerns about my chipped and missing teeth. I expressed to Dr. Foster about an upcoming family reunion that is to take place in a week and how very insecure and self conscious I was with my present smile. I’d want to feel less ashamed about my chipped and missing teeth when the occasion arrived. Because it was on the spot and such short short notice (one week) , I was hoping, but skeptical as to whether Dr. Foster could remedy my urgent situation. To my amazement, Dr. Foster said “no problem” and began getting to work on some temporary, but very fast solutions in accommodating me due to my circumstances. After a very thorough cleaning and examination, he and I agreed on some quick but suitable solutions and the work that needed to be done. Bottom line, I will have a presentable smile for my shortly upcoming family’s reunion. Hurraaay for Dr.Foster and his expertise and timeliness remedies. I can’t begin to express to him my utter appreciation for helping me to have a smile I can be unashamed of. I was very impressed and thoroughly satisfied with Exceptional Dentistry’s professional service from the time I walked in the door up untill the time I walked out. It's a small and simple place where I believe that they are trying to get what's best for their patients and get them to take better care of there teeth. They weren't just bland either, some of them had rather enthusiastic characters. One problem was because they are small, they seemed to not have as many tools as they required so I'm hoping that this small review helps even a little bit.

They accept Louisiana Medicaid! Being on Medicaid I thought I would have to sacarfice health care as I wait to get off it #BrokeCollegeStudent. However, that wasnt the case with my dental health. Everyone is very nice and they made sure I was comfortable. I do feel bad because I have low pain tolorance when it comes to my mouth and required more seditive than the average joe. Will continue to recieve care here.

Fortuity brought me to Exceptional Dental’s Uptown spot. A broken tooth at a time my dentist wasn’t in. An impending weekend I didn’t want to suffer through. The first three places I called from a Google search didn’t answer. I don’t know what I was expecting—in all truth, it wasn’t much. Maybe to get a little bond on the tooth to last through the weekend and until I could get in to see my dentist. My fourth call was to Exceptional Dental Uptown. I was given an appointment within the hour. While not entirely like an Apple Store, the office kind of shares the ethos of one. The office is immaculate and folks up front are hip and friendly. It *feels* efficient and there’s tech everywhere (and televisions on the walls and ceilings, to boot). Ultimately, I had full pano x-rays ($29) and x-rays with what looked like laser guns. Here’s where fortune intervened. The dentist who usually works out of the Uptown office was out for an hour and Dr. Bourg, who founded the practice, was filling in for him during the brief interval. Dr. Bourg met with me, discussed my (unpleasant) options, and asked me about my dentist. I gave him my dentist’s name, and it turns out he had his mobile number. Dr. Bourg then called my dentist (and, throughout, was very respectful of my longstanding relationship with my dentist), explained my plight, handed his personal cell phone to me, and left the room so I could talk through my options with my dentist in private. Turns out, Dr. Bourg offered to take out my tooth, do a bone graft, and set an implant—all on zero notice on a Friday when, let's be honest, a reasonable dentist filling in for a colleague as was Dr. Bourg would probably hope to be in and out within an hour. My dentist not only knew Dr. Bourg would do the job right but recommended that I go forward with the procedure if Dr. Bourg would do it. In the end, I walked into the office at 10:30 not knowing any of the professionals there and hoping for a modicum of temporary relief for the weekend and walked out before 1:00, with an implant and Dr. Bourg’s mobile number in case I had any questions. I’ve seen others go through a similar process, but suffer for weeks between trips to the dentist, consults with oral surgeons, and, finally, oral surgery. Again, my process took 2 ½ hours and, in getting the implant done at the same time as the tooth extraction, saved me about three months in recovery time. The procedure itself was painless and swift and, so far, so good. The people who assisted Dr. Bourg were incredibly gentle, clearly knowledgeable, and attentive. I have a low threshold for pain, and I wouldn’t be writing this review if that threshold had been exceeded in any way. In short, an unqualified five-star review. The practice truly lived up to its name, as did Dr. Bourg and the staff.
