I am extremely happy to have found Dr. Ho. All of the staff are super friendly and welcoming. I felt comfortable, from the time I made my first appointment over the phone with Char, to the very end of my visit. Dentists have always been a big fear of mine, but Dr. Ho and his assistants were gentle, and everything was pain free. Every time I went in, there was no wait time. They are thorough in explaining each process and what to expect for future visits. Thank you Dr. Ho! I have found my new dentist!

I've been going to Dr. Ho for a couple of years now, and it's probably the best experience I've had at the dentist. What I like best about Dr. Ho is that he is very meticulous and thorough. He really makes sure to catch and address everything that needs to be taken care of, and he and his team do quality work every time. Also, everyone that works in the office is super friendly and professional, and they make sure you feel comfortable the entire time. So if you're looking for a dentist that produces quality work and provides a friendly, comfortable atmosphere, I highly recommend seeing Dr. Ho and his team.

Dr. Ho and his staff are great! I don't think I've ever felt so comfortable at a dentist's office. Everyone there is so patient and takes the time to answer even the smallest questions and explain what needs to be done and also what I could be doing on my own. Dr. Ho carefully laid out a plan for me to get back on track with my dental health, I've had some of the gentlest cleanings I've ever had, and they even helped me figure out how I could work my treatment plan financially. If you need dental treatment, I highly recommend Dr. Ho's office.

I am extremely grateful to Dr. Ho and his entire staff. I needed quite a bit of dental work done and after several visits I couldn't be more happy with my experience. I’ve been going to Doctor Ho for a few years now and it has been the best dental experience of my life. From the pleasant and friendly staff right when you walk through the door to the affordable prices and convenient Waikiki location with parking on site, makes this dental office the best in town. I have never been a fan of going to the dentist, getting x-rays, fillings, etc. Doctor Ho and his kind staff (Char, Nat, & Precious) make the experience extremely convenient and pain-free. I cannot recommend them enough.

I had never been to a dentist for over 18 years of my life because I had one bad experience with an extraction however I love this place. Especially because they do such a good job at cleaning my coffee stained teeth lol.They are very gentle. The staff is so friendly and helpful too. Up until a couple of years ago I went a long time without dental insurance, so I for sure needed some work done the first time I saw Dr. Ho. Since then I've had a couple root canals on the same tooth (poor fella), a few cleanings and a filling, and they were all pretty quick and painless, and everyone has always been super nice and knowledgeable. I used to hate going to the dentist as a kid, but now I sorta skip to my appointments without really worrying that I'm about to have a bunch of fingers and metal sticks poking around in my mouth, because doctor appointments are never really that bad when the staff are good at what they do.

Although my time in Honolulu ended after a few years, I have remained a loyal patient traveling from the north shore in Waialua for all my dental needs. I recently finished Invisalign with Dr. Ho and couldn't be happier with my results and new smile! The Invisalign process was easier than I thought, and appointments were easily tailored around my work schedule. Dr. David Kirsch’s office staff were so nice and friendly. Extremely patient (since I ask a million questions) and are very thorough to make sure I understand what’s about to take place when I had my fillings replaced. My husband and I have gone to Dr Ho ever since we moved here 18 years ago. He is so kind and thorough, never pushing treatment. If you keep up your dental hygiene and visits, he will watch places that may cause trouble in the future and tell you when it’s time to fill or whatever is needed. And his dental hygienist, Natalie or Jenna are so good and gentle when cleaning. I have had anxiety about going to the dentist, but not any more as he knows how to treat your anxiety.

I am a 75 year old retired physician and surgeon. I have lived in many places and have had many dentists. Many of them were good, and some were very good. But i can confidently say that Dr. Ho is the best. He possesses all the attributes one would want in one’s dentist. I would say the most important one is tremendous skill. His numbing shots are done not only without pain, but without any sensation at all. His work is beautiful and is performed deftly and quickly. He is versed in the full spectrum of general and restorative dentistry, including implants, which in itself is impressive. Beyond the technical aspect, he is completely attentive to one’s concerns and is willing to take time, discuss options, and review x-rays in a relaxed and respectful manner. He is willing to adapt the care plan to suit the patient’s preferences, and he values the preservation of native tooth structure above all. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and the office is well-appointed. The location is central, yet there is good off-street free parking. In short, i recommend Dr. Ho highly and without reservation to all, including to friends and family.

From the minute you enter the office everyone is so warm and kind. It had been over 10 years since I had seen a dentist, so I knew the work would be extensive. Not once did I feel judged or looked down upon by any of the staff members but especially Dr. Ho. He was kind and welcoming and was just happy I had finally come in to take care of the much needed work. First time visiting this dentist since I have not gone to the dentist for years. My co-worker referred to me and I was very satisfied with their service. They have very advanced equipment that can identified the issues accurately. Their anesthesia equipment was also very nice that I did not feel the pain the entire time, not to mention, Dr. Ho's treatment was quick and this is another reason why I did not have any stressful time during the treatment. Dr.Ho and his staff are the best!If you're looking for an honest and experienced dentist,you should check out this place.I was referred here by a friend when my previous dentist retired.Dr. Ho double checks everything and found a cracked tooth i didn't know i had.They have a digital xray machine that can instantly show an enlarged picture.Thank God he saw the crack because it was from 2 sides and could have broken in half.He was able to save my tooth without an expensive root canal.Dr. Ho also saved me from going to a specialist for gum disease that was starting because i smoke cigarettes.He told me the things i could do and did a deep cleaning procedure that worked.Also,all of his staff are very professional and they won't overcharge you or do any unnessasary work,like i read about in other dentists reviews.

I've been with Dr. Ho since I returned home from LA in 87! I like how open and frank he is about what I could do better, what is working well, and a plan of action if needed. The staff are all professional and friendly, they go above and beyond to ensure you are in good hands. When you first enter the office, Char the office manager always greets you immediately making you feel welcomed. She is very helpful with scheduling and calling the day before to give you a friendly reminder of your upcoming appointment. Natalie the dental hygienist is very affable, she is gentle and thorough with my teeth cleanings. Cathy the lead dental assistant, assists Dr. Ho during dental treatment procedures. She is very diligent and ensures that the proper safety and sterilization was conducted. Dr. Ho has great bedside manner, being that I work in healthcare I think this is key in making the patient feel comfortable. He is very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain and answer any questions you may have. Dr. Ho is definitely trustworthy and credible. I truly could not recommend a better dentist and staff.

I recently moved to Oahu and was in a need of a cleaning. On the recommendation of a friend, I contacted Dr. Ho's office and was treated very warmly from the first point of contact. After arranging to have my dental x-rays sent over from the mainland, I set up an appointment for a cleaning and exam and I can truly say that the experience I had was the best EVER in 30+ years of dentist visits! The hygienist was the most thorough (but gentle) hygienist that I have ever worked with and I never once experienced any discomfort or pain! Dr. Ho himself was very personable and explained any findings from the cleaning and I left very satisfied with the whole operation, from the front office staff all the way up to the top! I have been going to Dr. Ho for almost a year now. I am very happy with him and his staff. Dr. Ho is very nice and skillful in his practice. He communicates clearly during the procedure. I know exactly what he was going to do, and what to expect. The office is in new and clean condition. Comfortable and has a nice view. The staff members are very nice. Char always calls me ahead of my appointments to remind me. She also recommended dental insurance to me where I can get a part of my procedure reimbursed. I am in good hands with Dr. Ho. In addition, my previous dentist was offering cheap dental cleaning procedures to draw people in. However, when I had a small crack on my back tooth, that dentist immediately offered the most expensive procedure to me with no alternatives. He offered me to do a crown on a small tooth crack, and nothing else. And the procedure was $1800 dollars. When I came to Dr. Ho, he mended the small crack with a fraction of the cost. So I knew I can trust him.

I have been a patient of Dr Ho from the very beginning when he took over for the late Dr Young in the 80s. I am completely satisfied with Dr Ho and his stall. What impresses me the most is how deftly he administers the dreaded anesthetic injection. One slight “pinch” is all I feel in the beginning and I am absolutely comfortable and pain free for the entire procedure. He also knows the exact amount to administer so that the numbness begins to wear off the moment I leave the office. I have had several dental emergencies over the years and the staff at Dr Ho’s office have always accommodated me, sometimes within mere hours after my call. Char and the rest of the staff treat me as though I am part of their family. Dr Ho is always cheerful and gentle, and his work is in my opinion is the best there is in Hawaii. I will probably remain a patient of Dr Ho for the rest of my life.

If you’ve ever been traumatized and afraid of going to the dentist, worry no more. I was introduced to Dr. Stephen Ho by my wife around 2011. I came in for a sore tooth (which I knew was already infected from past experiences) and he recommended we do a root canal. It wasn’t my first rodeo as I’ve had more root canals than an average person go through in their lifetime. The problem with me being scared of going to the dentist is how they handle root canals (one of the most painful procedures). I’ve gone through multiple dentist growing up and I was traumatized by the pain and suffering my teeth/gums have experienced. I’ve also had really bad experiences with military dentists, who had no regards for the immense pain you go through, so long as the job is done. How Dr. Ho handled visits were to make sure you knew what you’re about to get into, how painful it might be and how he can help ease that pain during the procedure. The root canal was super easy and painless! Dr Ho works with you no matter what you come in for. He devises a plan and schedule for what we need to work on, how we’re going to work on them and what should come in the future. We had been going at it since 2011. 2016 was the last cavity I had and my teeth has never been healthier than ever. He’s now making me a mold to help with my snoring. Dr. Ho has made it easier for me, along with the kind and helpful staff, I have never feared walking into the dentist office ever again.

I value my teeth, and I'm very appreciative that a friend referred me to Dr. Ho. Dr. Ho obviously values the quality of his work, and he doesn't seem to be inclined to do work that is not necessary. What makes me relaxed and comfortable is how Dr. Ho calmly describes what he is doing in a procedure, why he is doing it, and what is coming next. Then you will appreciate how Dr. Ho will first numb the gum area with a topical gel so that you hardy feel anything at all when he injects the local anesthetic. I especially like how Dr. Ho will take a digital photo using a tiny camera, upload the picture of my tooth onto a monitor so we can both look at it, while he explains what is happening with my tooth. The staff is top-notch. Charlene (Char), dental assistant/office manager, is very efficient, always calling/texting me the day before my appointment as a friendly reminder. You can tell that Natalie, dental hygienist, truly cares about me, as we regularly discuss how my daily teeth brushing routine should include proper flossing and attention to the gum area. In summary, Dr. Ho and his staff are the Best, providing what I consider a complete and comprehensive dental care system for me and all his patients.

Dr Ho is a brilliant and highly skilled dentist. His team are the best. I needed a dentist at short notice and Dr Ho gave me an emergency appointment tge next morning. I had broken my back tooth on a fishbone and the repair job was very challenging. Dr Ho had to remove a 30 year old filling and some additional decay. He was working very close to the nerve and any damage to that nerve would have resulted in root canal treatment being necessary. Two days later I have no pain and can go on enjoying my holiday. His care and explanations are exemplary I really cannot rate this practice highly enough.

Thank God for Dr. Ho, a dentist by true calling! I have been to many specialists to remedy my failing dental health, (including prosthodontist, endodontist, cosmetic dentist) and could not resolve the accumulating and overwhelming issues with failed root canal and warned out implants- crowns, affecting my bite. Dr. Ho listened intently, took time to study my case, designed the best plan for treatment, and proceeded with ever gentle and successful care. When in his office, I feel SECURE, knowing that I am in the best hands out there; I can just relax, release my worries, and know ALL will be taken care of perfectly. You can sense the expertise and care by his decisive, skilled approach while step by step painlessly one problem after another gets resolved. We are not done yet, as I am still waiting on implant to settle and several crowns that need to be replaced but we are moving towards a beautiful smile and a functional bite. I suppose there is no too small or too big of a case for Dr. Ho. He uses modern technology to spot the problem, to administer slow released pain control (there is a name for it, I forgot), and other. His staff is ever accommodating and likewise most respectful, caring, happy, friendly, family like team, I have seen. So laughingly, I say, sitting in his dental chair is truly a spa like positive experience with soft relaxing sounds and positive vibes permeating the air. Most importantly, I know that I can TRUST Dr. Ho with all my needs because he is an expert in the field and most caring dental specialist, I have known! And that's HUGE for me ... The trust part! I first met Dr. Ho in the late 89s, when the first generation of implants came about and he successfully directed the process and afterwards installed crowns that lasted nearly 26 years (some still remaining good!). After many years, Providence had it, I am reunited with my favorite dentist! I say this without a second thought, that having visited many dental offices here and abroad, Dr. Ho's is the best practice in Honolulu.

Before retiring, my dentist for about three decades referred others and me to Dr. E. Azuma. During my first visit with Dr. Azuma, he told me that I needed extensive dental work. He started working on several teeth on my second visit. During that visit, I realized that he and I was not a good fit: 1) Dr. Azuma enjoyed bragging about himself and in fact would try to bait me in asking questions that would allow him to continue talking about himself. I quickly realized his M.O., but not taking the bait did not stop him from talking about himself. 2) Dr. Azuma discussed a problem employee with another subordinate…while working on my teeth! I never experienced such behavior by a doctor. There are more examples, but this is about my current dentist, DR. STEPHEN HO…so I shall move on… I should have took the advice from a friend who recommended DR. STEPHEN HO when I told her that my dentist was about to retire. My friend said that Dr. Ho is not only a good dentist, but also a GOOD person. I should have listened to her…but, better late than never. Since I needed to continue with repairing my teeth, I decided that I did not want to pay someone thousands of dollars who I felt was not a good human being - so I took my friend’s advice. Of course, my friend was more than 100% right. Dr. Ho is the complete opposite from Dr. Azuma: humble, secure, and not arrogant. Dr. Ho and his staff are pleasant, thoughtful, considerate, sympathetic…I could go on-and-on with more adjectives… Dr. Ho treats his staff (and me) with RESPECT. I have no regrets. I hope he does not retire, as I would hate to lose him as my dentist. The aforementioned describes Dr. Ho’s (and his staff’s) demeanor…so, what about my dental work (e.g., replace fillings, repair cracks, install a crown, etc.) you ask. I wish I had the “before and after” pictures so you could see for yourself. My teeth look AWESOME! He explains each procedure and shows you the before and after pictures after each session; (shamefully) I have had three (sessions). Thank you, Dr. Stephen Ho, Char, Cathy, and Babylyn. (Oh, the reason I failed to take my friend’s advice when given: Laziness. Dr. Azuma’s office is down the hall from my dentist who was about to retire. Little did I know that Dr. Ho’s office is closer to my residence.)
