Also- really educational about what I can do to keep my teeth healthy. Finally, a super friendly atmosphere, which is important when one may be nervous about going to the dentist in the first place! My hygienist, Karlee, is also very sweet and makes you feel right at home. Waveland Family Dental cares about their patients and really get to know them on a personal level. Our whole family started going here recently, and we love everyone! Carly and Laurie are great hygienists and Dr. Peterson was so great with our toddler - he made him so comfortable and even “cleaned” his stuffed cat’s teeth first 😍😂 The staff at the front desk are also wonderful and helped with some ideas to prep our toddler for the visit, which really helped him feel at ease while at his appointment. Although I’m dwelling on their care of our son, they were also wonderful with the rest of the family, and we are happy we found such great care right in our neighborhood.

Dental care is VERY hard for me, and after getting brave enough to explain why to Dr Baker, he and his staff have been AMAZING about working with me. I so appreciate it. Trauma-informed dentistry doesn't seem to be a thing yet, in Iowa, but Dr Baker and his staff do pretty well once you lay the cards on the table and tell them where you're coming from.

I needed repair of an experienced filling that had a portion of the tooth chip away. I was able to get in and out of the office in less than an hour. Dr. Baker did a great job taking care of my problem including removal of the old filling and numbing the affected area prior to installing the filling. The total cost for everything was only $250. Since I don't have dental insurance cost was an important consideration.

I was referred to Waveland Family Dental from a good friend and I am very glad I listened to his advice. I had to have work done while moving across country. Waveland made getting my records from my other dentist easy and then Dr. Baker and his assistant Joan put an outta this world crown on top of my root canal. They have ridiculous cutting edge dental procedures and technology. Made my crown on site, fit it perfectly and I was on my way. This guy is a real pro and Joan and his support staff were the best. Very happy.

Transferred our 2 boys from a facility in Wdsm our whole family had been going to for over 20 years. That dentist had grown over time and moved to a bigger office. Only problem is that along with their growth, they also lost their friendly and inviting atmosphere. We had grown tired of the front desk staff's snarky attitudes. So, based upon a recommendation, we came here. So far, so good. Both our boys definitely preferred this environment over their previous dentist. Everything went smooth and they treated us like actual paying customers.

However, I will continue to come to Waveland Dental because the staff and dentists are amazing people. My last appointment I had a last minute work schedule change and I told them up front. The woman cleaning my teeth worked very quickly but thoroughly. She wasnt able to do the complete cleaning but understood my need to leave. The dentists are professional, understand financial burden dental work can create and find a plan to help fix your needs AND work within your budget. Couldnt find a better place if you tried, dont waste your time looking! Waveland Dental is awesome!

The dental assistant Joan and my dentist...Dr. Kevin Baker(? I'm really awful with names.) were so personal and pleasant and made me feel as comfortable as I could be through the rather painful process of getting my teeth cleaned after 5+ years of neglecting to go to the dentist. I've never had a dentist do so much of the actual work, usually you see them for a couple minutes and a hygienist for the rest. Nothing wrong with that but being a first time patient at Waveland it really stood out that he took time out to get to know me and explain everything. I try to play tough but I'm terrified of the dentist. Thank you for putting my nerves at ease and for not shaming me for how long I'd been without dental care!

I went to Dr Peterson today for a triple procedure and I am so impressed! The procedures were done quicker than expected, I didn't feel a thing (post local anesthetic) - and my mouth inside feels just perfect. The machine (in-house) that makes the crown in no time is amaze (it’s a beautiful thing to leave the dentist same day w/ everything complete). Dr P you rule ! Dentist of the decade !!

Dr. Baker’s examination to diagnose the cause of my tooth pain was very thorough. He explained a conservative approach to resolving the problem, with which I agreed. We also discussed sleep apnea. Since I’ve had problems using a CPAP, he suggested an oral appliance worn at night to prevent apnea. It is covered by health insurance, not dental insurance.

If you have a dental issue, he will generally give you several options (if they are available) and carefully explain the pros and cons of each.
