Let me start by saying I HATE going to the dentist. I chose this office because of the location; within walking distance of my work and home. Joni at the front desk was friendly and helpful! My hygienist, Mejrima, took me back before my scheduled appointment which was awesome. I told her I was nervous and she made sure I was comfortable and explained everything she was doing before she did it. She was very experienced and did a great job cleaning my teeth! Dr. Riley genuinely cared and made conversation before checking me over. Usually the dentist just pops in quick but he made time to tell me some preventative measures I could take and answered all my questions, it was much appreciated! That visit was the most enjoyable I've ever had as far as dental care and I will refer everyone who needs a dentist to go to Downtown Dental Care!

I absolutely LOVE downtown dental! The staff is super friendly, and knowledgeable and had answers for all my questions and concerns, even when I had to switch insurance plans it was super seamless! Dr. Riley is one of the most genuine people I have experienced. The healthcare field needs more people like Dr. Riley, he makes sure each and everyone feels welcome, and seems to genuinely enjoy the work he does, and the patients he works with. I happened upon Dr. Riley through the usual means - by my insurance directory - so had no idea what to expect. I had not gone to the dentist for a very long time. I blamed lack of insurance, but then put off going even after getting insurance. Then I realized the truth - I had developed a fear of the torturous experience that going to the dentist had usually been. Not so with Downtown Dental! I had to have a filling, and Dr. Riley put my mind at ease by explaining every step, by continually asking how I was doing, and by being a very careful and compassionate practitioner. What a difference!! I had no pain, and left there with another appointment on the books. All of the staff are so kind and caring- and my cleaning was amazingly easy, as well! Thanks Downtown Dental for making going to the dentist a breeze!!

I have been traumatized by a horrible dentist experience. I walked into Downtown Dental Care PPL and was skeptical of a good outcome. The experience was wonderful. I felt NO pain!! They took time to hear my complaint and addressed it. The dentist explained step by step what he was going to do. He explained all options. He let me know what would cost a little more and gave me the option to choose. Plus, I got to watch tv during the procedure. Great Staff !!! Awesome Dentist Ryan Riley DDS. NO PAIN!!!!

Dr. Riley and his staff are fantastic! I am from out of state and was fortunate to discover this office by chance. His entire team is incredibly kind, warm, and helpful. The office coordinator, Joni is great-- she happily answers all of my questions over the phone and doesn't make me feel rushed or like a nuisance for inquiring. Currently I am a full-time grad student living off student loans, and I appreciate how the office sends appointment reminders and accepts CareCredit, both which make my busy life a little easier. Lastly, Dr. Riley and his team are amazing at building rapport and making patients feel comfortable. After sitting you down on the chair, they share what they have on their agenda so you know what to expect during your visit. After examining my teeth, I appreciate how Dr. Riley thoroughly explains his findings/concerns and lists treatment options for me to choose from. The transparency and open communication makes me feel educated and in control of my dental health, something I've never experience before. As a patient, it is comforting to understand why certain procedures are necessary and which ones are less time-sensitive. I've never received dental care as individualized as the one I receive at Downtown Dental. I have full trust in Dr. Riley and his dental team, and I cannot compliment this office enough.

Everyone in this office is remarkable! Kind, helpful, patient and gentle. Each person makes me feel like I am not just a patient in the practice but like I am coming by to hang out with my friends. I have had a great deal of dental work in my life and experienced many dental practices. This is, by far, the best! Dr. Riley is very good at telling me what is needed and the options he can use, but always asking if that is a good choice for me, asking how I am doing and making me feel like I am a major partner in what happens in my mouth. My hygienist was also very gentle. I experienced no pain during the cleaning and that is a first! I am so very happy I found them. I will never go anywhere else!

Awesome. I generally do not enjoy going to the dentist, but this was one of the best dental experiences I’ve had. I came in with tooth pain, and they were able to get a cleaning done and the fillings fixed all in one visit. The cleaning was one of the most pain-free I’ve had. We have gone to Dr. Riley for at least 5 years. He is the best. He is a very conservative dentist that doesn’t just do a procedure to make money. He lets you know if you have a tooth that may need to be filled in the next few years but he doesn’t push a person to fill it right away. We so much appreciate Dr. Riley. His staff is awesome! My friend recommended this office. It is very clean, very friendly, and very flexible with scheduling. They are prompt to return phone calls. I had my teeth cleaned. During the visit, I felt that all my concerns were addressed and all questions answered. They are not overly aggressive in recommending unnecessary procedures and treatments (which has happened to me in the past). I also like that on certain days they are open late, which is very convenient for someone like me who can't take readily time off for office visits.

I transferred to this office about a year ago end it was the best decision ever! I am not a fan of going to the dentist but the personal and comfortable atmosphere as well as the entire staff and Dr. Riley has made each of my experiences extremely pleasurable. Downtown Dental Care is a huge breath of fresh air. We were in desperate shape. One of my teeth had broken in two and was very painful. We called the office in hopes that we could get an appointment with Dr. Riley this week and he saw us today. He took time to squeeze us into his busy schedule. Dr. Ryan Riley is a fine person and an exceptional dentist. His compassion is second to none and that caring attitude is shared by his entire staff. The receptionist who greets you and takes care of the myriad of papers one must complete these days was very kind and understanding. The hygienist and the dental assistant were professional, caring and thoughtful professionals. Dr. Riley made us feel welcome and took the time to assess my issue although the clinic was busy. They walk you through each step they're taking, and how insurance or payment comes into play, so that you have all of the information you'd need to make a decision about anything being done to your teeth! Dr. Riley is very gentle with your teeth. As a person who is terrified of needles and dental work, going to the Dentist's office has never been such a calming experience. Hands down the best dentist I have ever been to! Today was my first appointment there and it had been a few years since I've seen a dentist so finding a great one was imperative. Dr. Riley is extremely soft-spoken and communicates through the whole process. He never seemed to be hurried and spent time on each question or issue I brought up about my teeth. He even was the one doing the cleaning! I had some old dental work that needed done and ,due to another last minute cancellation, he was able to knock it all out in the same day, saving me another trip back. Highly recommend!

I have always been able to get an appointment within a few days of calling or at most a week (that has been for cleanings and dental fillings). I’ve always been anxious about going to the dentist but Dr. Riley and his staff were amazing. High tech office in the heart of down town, very friendly atmosphere, extremely professional and kind. They helped me work with my insurance company to get composites done on my chipped front teeth, filled a cavity and did a great cleaning in one visit when other denitists offices tried to over charge me by telling me I needed multiple cleaning visits. I know a dentist isn't typically connected with pleasant but Dr Riley and his staff work to make this a reality. I will continue to come here and recommend to everyone! Dr. Riley came in to the office on state fair Saturday to repair another dentist work when I really needed it fixed. Everyone should go in and see how true these words are.

What lovely people and so generous. Tooth ache pain over the weekend, sent an email telling them I would call first thing Monday and they responded..”we are here now (Sunday afternoon) do you want to come in?” It was determined I should see the specialist and they helped push the specialist to get me in ASAP. Dr. Riley is knowledgeable concerning current techniques and products. Being a new practice, it is small enough that there is no more than one or two patients at a time being seen. This provides a very quiet and relaxing atmosphere, plus the complimentary warm hand wax dip adds to the experience. People who are fearful of dentists would be calmed at this office. Dr Riley is the absolute best dentist in Des Moines. I relocated, and wish I were closer so that I could make the drive. I am terrified of the dentist, and he makes your visit at ease. He is so upbeat and personable, so it makes the visit pleasant. He has a great staff, and the office is so clean and relaxing. My daughter fell down and chipped some of her front teeth. I called Downtown Dental Care and they got her in right away. Dr. Riley and Angie worked through their lunch to repair the chipped teeth. I recently moved, and I had to find a new Dentist. I chose this location due to the excellent reviews, and I was not disappointed. The staff was very nice, and I received an excellent cleaning/examination. I appreciated that my entire dental history was reviewed with me, and that the Dentist told me what was going on each step of the process. This location is fairly easy to find, and it's on the ground floor of the west side of the building. I would recommend this Dentist if you're new to the Des Moines area.

The nice front desk people and the super friendly dental hygienists -- everyone is cool. As for my appointment, it was truly fantastic. Went in for a general cleaning and they checked with my insurance prior to my appointment. Double checking that everything would be covered was awesome, and I don't think many other offices would think of their patients that way. While the cleaning was happening everything was explained and I was treated as an equal rather than sOmEoNe wHo DoEsNt kNow tEeTh. Additionally, you can also book an appointment/converse with reception via email too. Great stuff.

Recently moved to Des Moines from Kansas City. Needed to get a dental cleaning. Walked in, very nice lady greeting me. Next, hygienist brought me in and took x-rays (I did not get my records sent over from previous place). There was little to no pain, unlike many other places I've been throughout the years. Next was the cleaning. Teeth felt great & clean afterwards. Then Dr. Riley came in to check my teeth and asked if my TMJ bothered me. I said yes & he said if I'd like, he could recommend me to University of Iowa's TMJ program, Win-Win. Def needed that golden nugget since many people are not aware of TMJ and how to possibly fix it. So if you are looking for a place of cleanliness, experience, high quality, friendliness, and honesty.. you have came to the right place.
