I have mixed reviews of this dentistry. I haven taken both of my children to Creston Dental, and ever since it was Kool Smiles. I have never personally had a problem with the dental group. I have never had a complaint with the treatment of my children, and their patience level has been sufficient for me (at least the dentists I have interacted with). I have an autistic son, and I have asked in advance for arrangements for him to be in a private room at the earliest time possible. They did accommodate. The reason why I not vote 5 stars is because the lack of communication on their Covid rules. When you arrive, they tell you that you can only have one child p/adult. The dental assistant tells you this upon calling you back. Unprofessional. There is no email, text, or call sent out. You are asked to leave your other child(ren) in the lobby. What responsible parent does that? I told them I will not. My child is 7, and the other being seen is 4. I was seen anyway, however I believe that's under the supervisor discretion. However, on separate occasion, I have witness one lady bring her children and had to reschedule. She had three other children. She handled it extremely cool and nicely told them no one informed me. She asked could they sit on the waiting bench inside. They said they cant. How inconvenient. After my appt, I decided to attest to what she said because I have never received any warning either. I informed the desk about can someone let the parents know prior to this. We get emails about Covid, masking up, and making the office aware of pre exposure, or not. However, how do you send that, but no FYI about bringing your other children to the appts due to Covid rules? Let parents know this so they can make arrangements. One admin said she will let the manager know, but I intend to follow up with this. If not, Creston Dental will lose customers over a simple communication issue that is fixable. I recently just visited the website listed and it states one child per parent...however I had to find that myself, not from the staff. If you can inform about Covid rules in an email or call, then you can let parents know this info too. It only takes an extra 2 seconds.

Had a visit today and my son and I was very nervous because he was getting a filling. Leslie the dental assistant was very nice and polite and she calmed me and my son down. When he was crying she would rub his head and tell him that he was doing great, that made me feel better and made he more comfortable. Dr Sheffield was amazing with the process and both ladies made the process smooth!

I have been coming here for 7 years and never had a problem. They are very nice and work with you under any circumstance. I seen Dr. Sheffield and her assistant Beth and they work together very well and make sure the kids are very comfortable at every visit. The place is clean and the staff love to have fun and make you feel like family. I would highly recommend anyone to visit this place. It’s a must see!

Great place to take your babies, The Dr. Sheff irks is awesome and the hygienist Heather is great and had great patience with my daughter. Love this place.. I was EXTREMELY pleased with my experience here. The wait was not long AT ALL. My twins had a ball in the waiting area which gave me time to relax. Once we were back in the office (which I love the fact I got to go back with them) everything was even better. The nurses and the doctors were very friendly and sociable. They kept my kids smiling and me engaged. They made my babies feel very special and they did a very thorough job. They also took time to explain everything to me and answered all the questions I had. They had great personalities and gave my kids a goodie bag and new toothbrushes which they were excited to use. I recommend this place!

Very friendly atmosphere! Heather is the absolute best! She loves children and she has a way of making children feel safe and comfortable! I've just recently started bringing my daughter to Kool Smiles on Forest Drive in Columbia. We've had nothing but good experiences since coming here. A child's visit with the dentist should always be a pleasant visit no matter the procedure. The staff always greet you in a nice and friendly manner. The service my family gets at Kool Smiles is amazing! I thought taking three kids (6 yr old twins and 3 yr old) to the dentist by myself would be a nightmare but it’s a pleasant experience every time. Heather has cleaned my boys teeth several times and she always greets us with a smile and kind words. Today Que cleaned two of my kiddos teeth and she also made them feel super comfortable and excited about getting their teeth cleaned! Evan took X-rays today, he worked fast and made my boys feel comfortable around those big machines. We actually look forward to visiting Kool Smiles every 6 months.

Dr. Sheffield and her Assistant Beth were absolutely "AMAZING ". Dr. Sheffield was extremely kind and gentle with my son. They both explained the procedures from top to bottom. Even my children's very first visit I watched her with other patients and she was Awesome!!! When I had to bring my kids back I specifically asked for her rather than the first doctor they saw because she made the children feel really at ease. If I had her as my Dentist I would happily go to the Dentist and not be frightened!!

I had an doctor appointment, and as always I have each of my kids seen at the same time. It is always a slight different experience at Kool Smiles; however, it seemed that it ran amazingly smoothly so smooth that I was a little shock at how fast they were moving with each child patient. I have been taking my 2 children there since I moved here from Texas 3 years ago. The staff there is always friendly and they know both of my children by name. Heather is especially wonderful with my son who sometimes has a hard time with the "white coat" syndrome. She is always patient with him. Actually they all are. Great experience! Dr Z. Did a great job making my niece feel comfortable as she was very nervous. Ariel did a great job as well making getting her teeth cleaned fun! She kept her laughing the entire time. She has some interaction with Alexis, Dr. Sheffield, and Kimberly and they all get 5 stars. The entire staff from the front office back is exceptional!

I love this place! They really know how to treat children! My son has Aspergers which comes with a boat load of anxiety. He had a horrible experience at his former dentist after I trusted their rule not to let me back with him. I did not know if I could ever get him to trust going to the dentist again. But Kool Smiles has an awesome play area and this was his second visit, the first was awesome with Heather the Hygenist and the young Dentist. They are patient and positive. They genuinely care. As an Autism mom, it means the world to me, they also let me come back during the procedure yesterday. I am grateful! My family has just recently moved to Columbia. I work so far from home and hate taking off a day of work to get my kids to the dentist.They have convenient hours. They were able to see all of my kids at the same time. The initial paperwork took longer then the appointment. It ran like a well oiled machine. The staff was all extremely friendly. Opposite of what others have said, my experience has been good! I've been there a total of three times with my son (once every 6 months). The waiting area is great for kids because there is a play area for them. The doctors are very professional and have told both me and my son what they were going to do before they did it. Before doing anything, they weigh your child and afterwards give them a new toothbrush, stickers, and let them pick a toy from the bin. Yes, they do brush your child's teeth with a toothbrush rather than an electric brusher! That's a good thing! Anything they ate before coming in needs to be removed before the coverage stuff can be applied. Also, you don't have to worry about setting appointments. When the time comes for your child to return, they send an email with a set appointment with the exact day of week and time as your previous ones. The email lets you confirm or decline quick and easy. Overall, highly recommended!

Now called Creston Dental- Love Heather, Kimberly, Kiona and Dr. Sheffield. They are always amazing! My daughter likes it too! Let me add to this.... I have Dental Plus with the State Health Plan. I can take my daughter to the most gorgeous building with those dentists that are in "high-demand." It's not the building, it's the people inside. I also just got my braces off with Dr. Chen there as well. Quality is inside that building.

I had a great experience with Kool Smiles. One of the secrets of success is downloading and filling out the forms ahead of time. The dentist was good with the abstraction. She deadened the area just enough for a no-pain pull. So my experience was a no-complain.

My two boys 9 and 11 got their teeth cleaned this past Thursday. My youngest child still is afraid of getting his teeth cleaned at the dentist from a bad experience with another dentist office. The dentist assistant who cleaned my children's teeth remembered us from the last visit and was very patient with my youngest child. He can be a big test of one's patience and the staff welcomed the challenge with a smile. The doctor was even nice enough to let my youngest child get a cap put on his cavity the same day when I said it would be hard to reschedule another visit. Even though I got a little frustrated at the dentist office mainly because of how my child was acting, the staff came through for me and eventually put a big smile on my face. Thanks guys for all you do to keep a beautiful smile on my kids :)!!!

I came into Kool Smile for wisdom teeth removal by the oral surgeon (Dr. Thompson). While I am not a stranger to the dental office, like many I suffer from dental anxiety. Dr. Thompson was amazing and his assistant Quielah is a gem. She is very kind, professional and knowledgeable of the procedure. It's multiple teeth extracted and with out her, I wouldn't have made it through the first one. Two thumbs up for GOOD dental assistants!

This was my first visit to Creston Dental. I was referred by my doctor for a wisdom tooth extraction. What a pleasant experience! Front office staff wasn’t all that pleasant but once I went back, the experience was wonderful! From the lead to the dental assistant, everyone was so courteous and professional. The dental assistance (so sorry that I don’t recall her name) provided so much prep and explanation that by the time the dentist came in, I was fully prepared! Dentist was great! She was so quick, I couldn’t believe she was done! Great overall experience!!!

Kool Smiles is such a great dental office. They treated my daughter like she was one of their own. Ms.Qui sat with her every second and never left her side. My daughter was a riot with the "laughing gas" and Ms. Qui seen her right through it. Dr. Shefield addressed all out problem areas and fixed my daughter right up. Today was the most amazing day of my kids life!!!! Dr. Z along with his dental assistant Alexis and Ariel were fabtastic!!! We came into the dental office and was having fun due to the wonderful play area they have for kids to play in but once we met Dr. Z and Ms. Ariel and Ms. Alexis things got even better!!! They welcomed us in with open arms and treated us like we have been coming to this dentist forever!!! I was so amazed about how Dr. Z took to my son Corey's side and it was as if he was his own father the way he talked to him and coached him through the process of his cleaning and dental procedure. Dr. Z was amazing with my other two kids as well but stood out the most with Corey being that he had such a hard time(previous traumatic dental experience). Dr. Z really turned that horrible experience into a magical one!!! He worked so smoothly and my son had to get a needle but by the time Dr. Z administered the needle the procedure was over with...he even explained to Corey how he was such a big boy and got through it and didnt even know it. Kudos to Dr. Z and Ms. Ariel and Ms. Alexis KOOL SMILES IS MY NEW DENTAL HOME!!!!! Oh and by the way...Ms. Ariel and Ms. Alexis really helped me out with my 1 yr. Old I mean when have it been known to get dental service and baby care all in one visit!!!! AMAZING!!!!

Love the Doctor here there great. Brought my daughter in for a cleaning and they were slow so they fix her crown that came off. The call center on the other hand had the worst customer service. I schedule for a crown and they gave me appointment for a cleaning and also told me i couldn't walk in unless her tooth was hurting her.

I travel from Piney Grove to the Forest Drive office. This office is the best office my kids have been in. My daughter was seen by Dr. Shuffield and Assistant Qui. They were very gentle and made my daughter very comfortable during her procedure. I will definitely recommend this office to any parent looking for a kids friendly environment.

If you've ever seen one of those YouTube kid videos, Heather speaks with enthusiasm using different voices and sound effects two explain the dental procedure in a way that is not alarming but rather fun and entertaining.

I had been in pain for 3 days. The first place I went to didn't take Humana insurance. Than I remembered that I always take my niece to Creston because she has Medicare. The receptionist we're wonderful, patient, helpful and polite. I was a walk in this morning, they checked with my insurance and promptly let me know, that everything would be covered. Dr. Sheffield and her assistant Demetrius were absolutely wonderful. They had to do a filling, and for the first time, I felt no pain. It was quick and painless. I'm 64, disabled, and I now realize why my niece loves to come here to get her dental work done. I will make Creston my place for dental work from now on.

I absolutely love this place! The orthodontists and other dentists make me feel very welcomed as an ortho patient. They make sure I'm comfortable before and after my appt. My orthodontist also gave me recromendations on what to do if my gums are sore after my appt which is really helpful and most dentists don't really do that at all! They make me feel safe and at home and my appointments are always on schedule! They are even like a second family to me! I recommend this place for all ages!
