Dr Urda and her dental staff were awesome! I went in feeling really bad and they had great empathy for me. I have some serious dental matters to address and Dr. Urda is very knowledgeable, honest, warm and experienced. I feel better knowing I have Dr. Urda and her team providing the dental treatment plan I need and getting me through it because you really need someone you can trust when you are having major dental work completed. I’m looking forward to getting started on my dental plan journey and having a great smile and healthy gums/teeth again! 🙏💙

Dr. Monica Urda has been my dentist for a few years now and what can I say except she is the BEST dentist I've ever had! Very likely the best one there is! Exceptional staff. Great experiences now both visits. Most recently, I was seen by the dental hygienist Reyna and Dentist Eugene. Reyna was one of the best hygienists I have had the pleasure of meeting. She was incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. The Dentist Eugene was efficient, professional, and pleasant as well. 10/10 could not recommend Smile Science more to someone looking for the perfect Dental office.

I had a great experience at Smile Science. I have avoided going to the dentist for over 4 years due to anxiety. The staff was really nice, nonjudgmental and super comforting. They tell you everything they’re going to do before they do it - which helps the anxiety. They also squeezed me in to repair old fillings immediately after my cleaning. (Which was so awesome because I had zero time to work myself up and be anxious for another appointment) Prices are told before the work is done. The dentist, Eugene, was nice and quick with the fillings in a well-prepared way, not a rushed way. Thank you team!

Best dentist in Chicago! I love how friendly and thorough they are. Mari was my hygienist and she was amazing. She was great at communicating everything she was doing. She gave me tips without being condescending or judge-y and she was patient and thoughtful throughout the cleaning. Dr Urda is also great and does a great job with conservative treatment plans when appropriate.

I had a very good appointment today - my first visit (I had canceled two prior appointments). I was pretty nervous at first. The staff in front were very patient with me... they made me feel at ease (as much as possible) right off the bat. My hygienist, Reyna, was superb. Very thorough, very informative, and always making sure I was ok throughout. Dr. Urda helped put it all together, and I came out with a renewed sense of hope regarding my teeth going forward.

Went in for a checkup and x-rays. The whole process was really smooth and all of the staff and the doctor were extremely friendly and helpful. The office is very clean and nicely organized as well. They put together a detailed plan and explained everything I required with major issues prioritized first and they also provided a fee breakdown. Definitely recommend smile science!

The hygienists are so knowledgeable and explain everything they are doing and seeing to empower you to know about your own dental health. I have seen both Dr. Eugene and Dr. Urda and they are friendly, smart, and make sure I am completely comfortable. TVs mounted on the ceiling doesn’t hurt, either!

I started coming to this practice at the recommendation of a friend. It is a larger practice, so I've seen a few different hygienists and dentists (you get assigned to whoever is available unless you specify when booking your appointments). I've done teeth cleanings, cosmetic teeth whitening before my wedding, and had a few small cavities filled. I have not done any serious dental work here (root canals, crowns, etc.). I'm happy with the professionalism of the front desk, the way they process insurance, and the professionalism and kindness of the dental staff. I'm also happy with the quality of the work.

Finding a good dentist is not an easy thing but Smile Science Chicago is excellent. Not only Dr. Urda, but her entire staff are very much no-nonsense, while also being extremely friendly and kind. She was the only one to fix an issue that I had brought up to several other dentists before and had been ignored each time, so they also actually listen to you. Can’t recommend enough!

Wonderful experience at Smile Science. I transferred from a dentist in Lakeview because I wanted to go somewhere closer to a new apartment. They were so patient and thorough and explained every step of the cleaning process in a way that no dentist ever has!! They also walked me through all of my x-rays and really explained what was happening in some areas that need to be watched. The screens on the ceiling to watch TV during the appointment are also a game changer!

My first choice for dental care, Dr. Monica Urda and her team are professional yet kind in checkups and deeper cleaning. Each procedure I have had has been comfortable beyond expectation. While I was transitioning because insurance was expiring, she ensured that I received her recommended filling and other cleaning I needed before entering an unknown period. Dr. Urda is wonderful. She’s thorough and keeps you informed of the work she’s doing every step of the way. In addition to that, she gets your appointments done in a timely fashion-so much so that she made sure I wouldn’t get to a Sox game late one time when I found out I needed an unexpected procedure done. The office in general has a great staff and to top it all off, there are televisions on the ceilings for a great Netflix distraction while you have dental work done :)

Everyone here is super nice! People on the phone are helpful with scheduling. If you’re a new client you can fill out your forms ahead of time online. If you like they can remind you of your appointment via text. Very modern facility. I watched Netflix on a ceiling mounted TV while I had my cleaning done. They took high resolution pictures of my teeth and showing me those images they talked me through what needed to be done. I recommend them. Street parking.

Dr. Monica is probably the best dentist I've had. My previous dentists were all fine, but from my first visit with Dr. Monica I could tell I was getting better, more comprehensive oral and gum care. Dr. Urda and her staff are awesome!!! Everyone is very friendly and welcoming each time I visit. The waiting room has great music but the check in process is quick so you’re never waiting too long once you arrive. The hygienists are easy to talk to and try to make the cleanings as pain free as possible. Each patient room has a flat screen with Netflix in the ceiling and you can choose your own show. Time flies with the TVs and then Dr. Urda comes in and is sure to answer all of your questions at each visit. She takes her time and is personable and professional! I’ve been putting off going to the dentist for over two years (oops), and finally was forced to go because I am losing my dental insurance at the end of the month. Naturally, I had quite a bit of work that had to be done. I informed the staff that I needed this all to be done before my health insurance runs out, and they seriously have done a fantastic job working with me and getting everything done as quickly and efficiently as possible! What normally would be a stressful experience, has been so seamless and easy thanks to the whole staff at Smile Science. I get very anxious at the dentist, and Dr. Urda has done an amazing job at putting me at ease during my fillings, often checking how I am doing, and lightening the mood with conversation and humor. The TVs on the ceilings are a great touch! Also, all of my appointments have been running on schedule, sometimes I am even able to get in early which is a plus! I seriously cannot recommend Smile Science enough for anyone who is looking for a dentist in Chicago! You will not be disappointed!

If you’re looking for a new dentist I highly recommend Smile Science Chicago! The staff is super friendly and they take good care of you and make sure you’re comfortable the entire time. The process of making an appointment was super easy and they checked my dental insurance benefits for me. If there’s anything treatment wise outside of a normal check up they discuss a treatment plan with you along with what to expect cost wise. Melanie was my dental hygienist and she was absolutely wonderful! Dr. Urda was also great. Just because I feel like it’s worth noting, there are friggin TVs on the ceiling and you can watch whatever you want on Netflix while you get your teeth cleaned so....10/10 recommend, look no further.

She always takes the time to explain necessary procedures and wont do anything unless its needed. Starting with the office and the people who work there - she has increased the safety of the office with all the normal protocols for Covid and air purifiers in every patient area. The front desk folks and the dents hygienists are all so nice and personable and you can tell they really care about the patients! I started going to Dr Urda about two years ago after realizing I needed to get over my fear of the dentist - hadn’t been in years and was so nervous. She came really highly recommended so I booked an appointment and will never see a different dentist ever again! Only dr Urda! They are always gentle with me understanding my fear. They work with the latest equipment so things like X-rays and other tests are less invasive and easier on the patients. This last visit I was in so much pain and really thought I had cracked a tooth or something - nope after running tests that showed my teeth were fine she said I had a sinus infection and my top teeth were taking the brunt of it since the roots sit so high. Dr Urda prescribed me some meds and I am now all better with NO dental work done - how’s that for an honest dentist! I strongly recommend Smile Science and Dr Urda - she is the best.

This practice offers an in-house benefits program for $325 annually, which includes two exams, two cleanings, two sets of x-rays and two emergency visits, as well as discounts on other procedures. I called several places to get estimates on a cleaning, and no other dentist office on the north side come close to matching this value. In addition to that, Dr. Urda is incredibly kind and has great chair-side manner. Scheduled an appointment last minute online, and not even 20 minutes later I get a call from the receptionist who was extremely friendly and helpful to get me in earlier because I was having discomfort. Dr. Urda and her assistant Mari are wonderful! They are very patient, personable, and caring. I'm always seen within 5 minutes of coming in the door. Dr. Urda always takes the time to ask about my oral care habits and has made recommendations for toothbrushes, toothpaste, whitening, etc. for me based on my needs. I plan to continue to see them as long as I live in Chicago. Added bonus are the TVs on the ceiling while you get your cleanings. As a side note, I have had two scheduling issues: once where the office called me and asked to reschedule an appointment, but I'm assuming they forgot to actually rebook it (they fit me in anyways when I showed up) and another time where I gave them my new dental insurance when I confirmed the appointment but they didn't verify my eligibility so we ended up rescheduling (I didn't want to be stuck with a bill if they were OON). My word of advice would be to make sure you get a confirmation from them for your appointment and that they've verified your coverage.

In 2016, I was suffering from an excruciating pain in my tooth that seemed to have started overnight. I visited a dentist who is well known in my spouse's business community for an emergency appointment, given I had just moved to Chicago, and hadn't had the time to do more research. On examining me, that dentist recommended an extraction, implants and various painful procedures over the course of a year with thousands in bills. On my way back home (Wicker Park), severely distraught from my previous experience, I stopped by Dr. Urda's clinic, by complete chance, for a second opinion. I have not looked back since. She not only saved my tooth, referred me to the right people, and effectively managed my procedure and pain but also provided me with useful preventive tools to help preserve all the work done, has been honest about the work needed (absolutely urgent versus precautionary), in the most timely and accommodating manner. Dr. Urda also works really well with children. She'll put them at ease and provide tons of encouragement to help them through any procedure. Distractions such as Hulu-capable screens above the dental chair are also available. So anyone can lay back and catch up on their favorite shows while Dr. Urda does her fabulous work.

I was feeling quite discouraged after I went to see my normal dentist of many years regarding a painful toothache. His response was to take some enamel off the opposing tooth, tell me I have hyper-sensitivity, then send me home with no resolution. After the pain was getting worse my wife recommended I see her dentist, Dr. Urda, who she swears by. Dr. Urda is clearly smart and a natural problem solver. She conducted some basic sensitivity tests which allowed her to diagnose exactly what was wrong and how I should proceed with treatment. While I'm not looking forward to a root canal, I trust Dr. Urda's recommendation and I'm thankful to know there is (hopefully) some relief on the way.
