So I was looking for a new dentist and in my search so many offices have online reviews where the reviewer didn't have a lot of reviews. This was the case with Almost EVERY one of the 30 other places I looked at (might have something to do with the software offices use). Now go look at my review count. I'm here to break the string and say I was super pleased with my appointment. Every person (to a person) was super friendly. Daniella was easy on my cleaning. And Dr besse was thorough and friendly. Look forward to keeping the good vibe going and live in the area which makes it all the more convenient.

Absolutely top-notch care! After years of trauma associated with dental work, I can't believe I actually had a wonderfully positive experience at the dentist. Dr.Besse was so communicative and patient and everyone, including the hygienists and receptionists were receptive to the fact that I was stressed, without ever making me feel bad or ashamed of being an adult afraid of the dentist. Seriously amazing environment and office!

I have never updated a review every single time I've visited a business, but Affinity is truly something else. I've been a patient here for about five years, going for cleanings, x-rays, fillings, teeth whitening, and retainer fixes. The dentist is great; she's thorough, knows what she's doing, and very personable. The front staff and hygienists are also great - they do a great job in cleaning my teeth and while they reinforce messages like flossing, they don't shame me for not doing it enough. The office is well maintained. They have TVs to watch for longer treatments (I've not used them) and you can enjoy some aromatherapy while getting your teeth cleaned. They also offer coffee and water. There's also free garage parking attached to the building.

I was referred to this dental practice by a friend after I had a bad experience at first-time patient visit with a practice in Wicker Park. The other practice took 2.5 hours to take tons of photo scans, didn’t do X-rays or a cleaning, and recommended expensive treatments including quarterly deep cleanings and replacement of all existing cavity fillings which would’ve maxed out my insurance almost immediately and left me with high out of pocket expenses. I decided to get a second opinion at Affinity Dental and I am SO happy that I did! The dental hygienist, Tiffany, completed the scans and cleaning thoroughly and efficiently. I was so nervous going into the appointment, but she and Dr. Besse were wonderful, reassuring, and really put me at ease. I’ve already recommended Affinity to a multiple friends and can’t speak highly enough!

I took my 3 year old son to Affinity Dental for his 1st ever dentist appointment. They do such a nice job accommodating children! For my appointment, they had the TV on with cartoons, toys for him, and the hygienist was super sweet! He was scared at first, but quickly came around. I have a follow up appointment for him in a few weeks. I may start going there myself. The office is very nice, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Easy to get an appointment as well! No wonder this place has such a high rating on Google.

The staff is so Friendly,and the office is very Clean! They treat you like family! The staff call you by your first name, as if they've known you for a long time! They also give you reminder calls, text messages to remind you of your appointment, that's a plus for me with my busy schedule!! You will not be disappointed, I promise you!!

The entire visit from start to finish was great. Natalie, the dental assistant, was a joy! And the cleaning she did was the most thorough and pleasant cleaning I've ever gotten. Dr. Tedford was outgoing and professional. He clearly explained what needed to be done and the timeline for doing it. Finally, Samantha set up the next appointment and went over all the financial details with me. She, like Natalie and Dr. Tedford, was quite courteous and professional. And I almost forgot to mention how clean and bright the office was. I'm really glad to have found Affinity Dental!

Recently switched to Affinity from our long-time downtown dentist. My first appointment was back in December 2019, when a crown fell out and my old dentist could not fit me in to repair! I'm a teacher and I had to proctor final exams, so my schedule was a bit tricky, but not impossible; even so, no accommodations. I called around, and other dental offices didn't want to deal with my crown because I wasn't a regular patient! But Affinity fit me in, and their service was excellent. Everybody was super competent, professional, and friendly. Just had my first cleaning there last week and will be going back for a couple of repairs. (I had been told by my old dentist that I needed a couple of crowns, but wanted a 2nd opinion at Affinity, which they explained clearly.) Dentists, hygienists, and receptionists are so skilled, also great communicators. I feel fortunate to have found such a wonderful dental office, and so nearby.

It was a beautiful day on the day of my first dental appointment at Affinity and was concerned that I made a mistake to start the day at the dentist. I was greeted warmly and made to feel safe at the reception area. The technician who took the multitude of x rays was very friendly and explained every step. She continued with cleaning and polishing my teeth and was totally impressed with how gentle she was. The dentist reviewed my results and made recommendations for next steps. I left the office feeling content and I continued enjoying a beautiful day!

Dr. K is the best! So knowledgeable & patient when answering questions. Affinity has several state of the art ways of dealing with teeth issues such as a 3D printer (which saved one of my teeth a few years back) & electronic scanning of teeth for crowns and dental guards, for example. Office staff is kind and helpful as well as the technicians. Shout out to Natalie! Can’t recommend enough!

I went in for a consultation and referral only. The front desk staff here has an infectious positive energy which you would notice the moment you enter. They can teach a master class on customer service skills to other businesses. I really liked the warm and caring nature of the hygienist. The Dentist is a nice guy, straightshooter and efficient. Best cleaning and dental experience I’ve had in probably 10 years, including ortho. Very clean and updated office. My dental hygienist Daniella had such a calming energy; was meticulous and easy to talk to. Daniella’s ability to clean teeth while maintaining a clean, dry client is impressive! Front office staff were helpful and greeted me immediately upon entering which is an important factor for me… we’ve all been ignored and interacted with as if we’re a bother which feels awful. Dr. Rossi was personable and took time to touch base with me and share his thoughts. 10/10 recommend Affinity Dental!

Have had a great experience here for myself and my 2 kids. They are super friendly with the little ones and have toys in the waiting room and they give out little goodies at the end. My kids love coming to the dentist! I completed Invisalign with Dr. K and am overall really happy with my results. The hygienists are all super friendly and they even gave me a $5 Starbucks gift card one day when they were behind schedule and the wait was a little longer. Definitely recommend!

This is my one of my favorite dental offices ever! The office is modern, clean and conveniently located. Staff is professional and very friendly and I think this really helps to put you at ease if you have Dentaphobia. I almost look forward to my visits now. No kidding. I certainly don't dread them like I used to at some other offices. Equipment and techniques are state-of-the-art and you will no longer dread cleanings - trust me. I give them four stars only because I haven't yet had any procedures beyond cleanings but based on my experience I trust they will also be great with fillings, etc.

I have been going to Affinity Dental since 2014. I found them via Yelp. I had been so disappointed with every dentist I’d had since the age of 10. I paid out of pocket because I was stuck in a PPO until I could change to HMO the next year. It has been great all around. Dr. Kavetsis is wonderful and so is all of her team. The office is well-appointed and very, very clean. The cleanings are thorough and they are always timely. Only once did I wait about 10 minutes in six years. They also have a garage that usually has spots if the streets are full.

Update: Last week I encountered my first issue as a patient, one of my recent fillings was giving me pain. So I called in, got an appointment at my earliest convenience, and with a quick minor adjustment I was sent on my way! Problem solved and no additional billing issues to deal with. And, as always, the staff and Dr. K were courteous and professional.

I have been using Affinity as my dental office for the last year after my wife referred me (she has been going to them for years). I am consistently impressed with how clean and comfortable the office is - both the lobby and clinical areas are very relaxing while you're waiting. Additionally, the staff is friendly and helpful in setting new appointments or answering questions. Parking in the back is a nice plus, but I would recommend checking with the staff prior to your first appointment because it can be difficult to find. I would highly recommend Affinity for a comfortable and friendly cleaning experience.

(Post 2020) Best dentist on the Northside of Chicago! (Post Sat 4/24/2021) I was agitate today (Saturday). Ashley called me up and asked if if was alright if the office move me from my 11:30 am appointment to a 10:30 am slot. I said yes. Arrived for my 10:30 am appointment with plenty of time to spare. Had to wait 40 minutes for my dentist to come in and take a look. No consideration of what I could have been doing during those 40 minutes if I kept my appointment to 11:30 am. I was accommodating them so the office could inconvenience me. After my appointment I was directed to make a follow up appointment. Normal Ashley is pretty sweet and helpful; however, today she was curt and directed me to wait in the waiting room. After 5 minutes, I just left because I have done enough waiting on a weekend. Still the best dentist on Northside, just agitate and confused that the office was run like that today.

I love this place! Dentists can typically be pushy, and they give you the sense they are just trying to get you to do everything under the sun to make more money. But that’s not all dentists, and it’s certainly not the ones in this office. Affinity Dental has kind, caring people who make me feel like they legitimately just want to take care of my oral health. When it came to Invisalign or wisdom teeth removal, they gave me the facts, and they gave me the facts as they were. With the wisdom teeth, they said unless I am in pain or my mouth health is suffering, they don’t recommend it due to my age. For the Invisalign, they told me I didn’t have to do it, but they told me the new touch points of my teeth pattern would continue to get worse due to my overbite, but it’s expensive, and they understand if I didn’t want to necessarily do something that wasn’t detrimental to my oral health. (I still have my wisdom teeth, but I eventually did the Invisalign once it was financially feasible for me.) All in all, they care, and it shows. All staff I have interacted with have been knowledgeable and helpful. Everyone is so friendly and nice, and it’s a minority-owned business, which I happily support. Thank you Affinity Dental for being true proponents of oral healthcare!

Natalie (Dental Hygienist) did a fabulous teeth-cleaning for me; hard, hard work with removing every bit of tartar and plaque. And she also mentioned that she loves her job and wants to get it perfect. "If you're going to do (a Cleaning), you may as well make it perfect" she said! Now that's an Olympic work-ethic, surpassing all expectations; and very much appreciated by this patient. I had the Cleaning done right before Dr. Kavetsis and her Assistant, Sylvia, did a marvelous job in installing two fillings, making a major repair in a difficult spot look "routine". Dr Lana Kavetsis is a miracle worker. I have been to many dentists and she is a perfectionist. She has transformed my smile and now I'm proud to show my perfect white teeth. She has a gentle touch and explains what she is doing which I like. Her prices are very reasonable. Her staff is very friendly and professional. The office is state of the art with all the latest equipment. I drive an hour to her office because she is the best.

I went in bc I had a broken tooth. The doctor told me I needed a root canal and they if I was able they could do it right then. I was and so they did. Root canals are never fun but I was glad to have Ms. Silvia and Dr. Rossi working on me bc they made sure I was taken care of from a pain perspective and also a comfort level. If you have to get dental work done this is a great place to do it.

Friendly staff...they took my coat upon arrival, the hygienist used a fresh tube of chapstick on me during the procedure that smelled like lavender and they give it to you as a parting gift. I sought out Dr. Kavetsis for the work and to my excitement- she suggested an alternative treatment plan that didn’t require a crown— or two visits. Not only did she display excellent communication skills but she also demonstrated great compassion for my need! Luckily she was able to fit me in at 8am the very next day. After our call I kept thinking how refreshing it was to have someone on the line with a true "spirit to serve". I had a question regarding the online new patient forms so I called back - this time Ashley answered the phone. Guess what? She was just as amazing! Answered all my questions and left me with the feeling that she valued my business. Very compassionate as well - I wasn't just hearing the compassion I felt it. Good so far, now onto my office experience, Dr. Rossi did an exceptional job explaining the various options that were available to me and ensured I felt comfortable before, during, and after my procedure. Guess what? I know where his staff gets their great communication skills - Dr. Rossi spoke in a way that was clear and understandable. He also encouraged me to ask as many questions as I'd like. Now onto a very important area, cost. Affinity dental rates were at if not lower than other dental offices within the same area. My estimate came to roughly $6,000 [yes years of dental neglect] we worked together to breakout all the procedures across 3 separate visits: 1. Work that has to be done today 2. Follow up work that could be done a few months down the line and 3. Work that could wait until the start of the year [when my yearly max benefit amount on my insurance would rollover]. This enabled me to fix the issues I needed fixed that very day while allowing me time to plan and budget for the rest of the work. Sorry for the long review, hopefully you will find this helpful!

Ive been a patient for 4 years and can attest to how thorough and excellent the dental hygienists are. Dr. K is very knowledgeable and has wonderful bedside manner. This is also a judgement free zone, I’ve heard them talk to other patients in addition to my experience and they’re focused on how to get you back on track wether it’s been a decade or months since your last dentist visit. Beautiful and comfortable office, easy scheduling, and hospitable staff. Everyone in the office is cognizant of how much insurance covers, i.e they’ll check if cleanings are every 6 months versus twice year, and the time between fillings before scheduling. The only downside is billing takes a while but it’s largely out of their control and dependent on the State/insurance. They’re also not the most affordable BUT they always provide you with an out of pocket estimate in advance; in my opinion, it’s worth the great care they provide.

Due to a handful of really traumatic experiences at the dentist/oral surgeon throughout my life, I have an extreme phobia of going to the dentist. Because of this, I avoid going at ALL costs. This obviously is counterproductive because I inevitably end up in a lot of pain/trouble from neglecting regular cleanings. My sister-in-law (who is a dental hygienist) recommended Affinity Dental because she had a former colleague who had worked here. She told me that Affinity Dental has a reputation for being extremely patient with patients like me, who have intense panic and fear about the dentist. In trusting her, I decided to call one day when I couldn't bear my tooth pain anymore. I won't go through every detail, but starting from my initial phone call I was met with patience, calmness, empathy, professionalism, and understanding. A big reason why I avoid the dentist is because of my embarrassment of being an adult who is unreasonably scared of going and also just knowing that I will have a panic attack when I step into waiting room. I also am mortified of the condition of my teeth and gums. Throughout my visits (I've gone 3 times now) I have never once felt judged or ashamed. I would like to give a special shoutout to my hygienist, Jessica, who went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and gave me as much time as I needed when I started to feel panic. I never write long reviews like this, but I felt this was super important to share because I know there are others who have a similar fear of the dentist. If that is you, I cannot recommend Affinity Dental enough. I was on the verge of having some very long-term issues that would have cost me a lot of pain (and money) in the long run. I'm so happy that I found a dentist that is willing to take the time to actually listen to my concerns and understand how my past experiences have impacted my fears. I can say confidently that I will now go for regular cleanings rather than my typical once every 5-7 year visits. =]

I've had nothing but great experiences here. From the front desk, to the hygienests, to the doctors, everyone is friendly and efficient. After one dentist had me scheduled for 3 fillings, I came here due to insurance changes fully expecting they'd say the same. To my surprise they said the cavities we're not significant enough to require filling. Instead, they've kept an eye on them. Sure enough, with decent daily hygiene (not perfect when it comes to flossing:) and visits every six months, the cavities have not gotten bigger. Guess the fillings really could wait. My kids are patients as well. No joke, when I was getting ready to go to the dentist the other day, my five-year-old asked if she was "getting to go" too. She was a little sad when I told her not that day, but was appeased by the fact that she gets to go in the next month or so. I've never known a young child to be excited about going to the dentist.

I scheduled my first cleaning in 4 years with Affinity. The cleaning lead to expected cavities on both sides of my mouth and required two subsequent sessions. They were able to get me scheduled for those two sessions the following week. Each session for drilling/filling required Dr. Prieto to fix 3 teeth. I live very nearby, and in both cases, I was done and home within an hour of leaving my apartment. Both Dr. Prieto and the hygienists take great care of patients, and ensure that they are comfortable at all times. I noted that I have a high tolerance for numbing agents, and he made sure I was taken care of during all sessions. I've had a lot of bad experienced with other dental facilities in my past, and my experiences at Affinity were all amazing. I will absolutely recommend them to anybody!

I had several good experiences with cleanings and dental work, appreciated the staff and dentist, and had happily recommended Affinity to several friends. Each time I left, it always felt like I had paid a little too much for what is usually covered by insurance, but I was okay with it, although it eventually led me to switch to another dentist with fewer out-of-pocket costs to me. Unfortunately, almost 2 years after my last visit, I've just started receiving invoices for services. Totally understand that insurance estimates are just that, but two years later to be hit with past due notices? It's sloppy bookkeeping, and inconvenient to clients/patients. Often, insurance company don't keep these payment records accessible online after 18 months, so I'm off to contact them to try to find info from 2-3 years ago... sigh. UPDATE: Fortunately, they've taken care of the recent delayed invoices. Addressing issues like this in a reasonable way says a lot about their overall customer service.

Dr. Tedfore and Dr. Prieto are the best. I’ve been with Dr. Tedfore for almost 6 years and a few months with Dr. Prieto and they are the best at what they do. Great atmosphere, indoor parking, water and coffee are provided. I’m relaxed when I come to this dentist office. I definitely recommend the doctors.
