I have been a patient at Emerald West for several years now. Every visit has been exceptional. On time, if not early, friendly, clean, thoughtful. Never pushing for unnecessary treatments. A clear plan and cost presented upfront. Root canal and permanent crown same day, with a perfect fit. Twice! And how can a root canal be almost painless? Dr. Moss and Dr. Hess are both highly skilled and I couldn’t recommend them more.

Emerald West Dental is an excellent dental clinic. I have never had a a bad experience with Emerald West Dental. Whatever your appointment time is that's when you are seen. Not 5, 10 or 15 minutes later. The entire Team at Emerald West Dental is a team of Rock Stars. I would recommend Emerald West Dental to anyone and everyone that needs Dental care. The office staff was on the ball and super friendly and then the oral hygienist cleaned my teeth and did a thorough wonderful job she was nice to visit with too. I had a presentation at our corporate office and the night before, my front tooth split and fell out. I called several dentists, but only Emerald West brought me in and glued it on! I made the presentation and no one knew. Emerald West was attentive, adaptable and heroic! (Not to mention, insanely affordable as my insurance lapsed so I paid cash and not much of it 😘). At this visit, Dr Hess took out a broken tooth’s root and in its location placed an implant’s base (quite a procedure) with good pain control plus did two fillings. Considering, it was very good and appreciated experience.

Thoughtful, friendly, knowledgeable team. Katherine, my dental hygienist, took care to explain each part of the teeth cleaning and exam, important to me since I have a phobia about dentists, and was gentle throughout. Dr. Hess made it clear they would trust me if I said something hurt (since I have areas of sensitivity in my teeth and gums) for taking care of cavities, and would work with me on pain management. Very positive experience as much as dental work can be for me.

I have been seeing Doctor Hess since I was a small child. He did my braces and has always been so kind and helpful! Recently, I called to ask about a small donation of toothbrushes for my Special Education classroom, to enhance life skills practice. The team at Emerald West not only donated toothbrushes and paste, but put together gift bags complete with timers, stickers, and a small treat! We are so grateful to them and their kindness! I have been visiting Emerald West Dental for YEARS! The entire staff always remembers who I am and checks in with me warmly. My cleanings are always efficient. I don’t ever mind if Dr. Hess or Dr. Moss do my check ups because both of them are so kind, thorough and also take the time to leave me with some actionable steps to work on over the next 6 months. I think if I ever moved I would just come back every 6 months for my appointments. *Where do I get a PacMan console for my house?

Emerald west is great and they have stayed up to date with new technology since I’ve started going over 3 years ago. My parents have since started going as well. The hygienists are always very kind, talk about what they are doing and are super personable. I’ve worked mostly with Dr.Moss and he’s really nice. Dr.Moss has helped my family with a few emergency procedures and my family members were very happy with the process and results. The only thing I don’t love is the lab where they have things made. I wear a partial denture and it has broken several times so that’s disappointing but they were kind and had it fixed.

I’ve been a patient at Emerald West since they opened back in the 80’s. I have always had prompt, friendly, and most importantly, competent dentistry. They always encourage good dental practices, but do a great job on my crowns when I fall short in my brushing and flossing. I see Dr Hess, but whether Dr Hess or Dr Moss, they have been great to work with. Ellen is a great hygienist, very gentle and thorough. The front desk girls are super sweet and always try to accommodate your schedule. I work in the Dental industry, so I see work from a lot of dental offices, and I hope I never have to find another dentist. These guy’s are fantastic to work with.

The team here is always so genuinely kind! My hygienist is Naomi and she is fabulous. Very thorough, best cleanings BY FAR, and a great conversationalist! Which can be hard in that profession because the patient has things in their mouth 90% of the time. But she is able to time the conversation so that when it’s your turn to speak you can answer without interrupting the cleaning. She’s my favorite!

I've been going here for more than a decade. The staff is top notch. Dr. Hess is my main dentist and he cares and does good work. Dr. Moss has also done a check up on me (and recently a root canal) when Dr. Hess was on vacation and was super nice. They've helped me keep my teeth in good order. Jackie was a great hygienist but has mostly retired. Naomi has taken over and been doing my teeth the last few visits. She's very nice and does great work too. I recommend this office to friends and family.

I've been going to this dentist office for close to 9 years and they have been amazing. Great staff, empathic and gentle hygienists, kind and knowledgeable dentists. But it was in the last year that they have gone above and beyond for me and I am endlessly grateful for them. I, like many, have a tremendous fear and extreme anxiety about going to the dentist but they have always given me the compassion and understanding that I needed to feel safe, as comfortable as possible, and cared for. This past year not once but twice I had pain in a tooth that I could have never imagined and both times they got me in right away, they gave me comfort and understanding, they found the problem, they did what they could to fix the problem and gave me a realistic timeline of what I could expect in my recovery. I was scared and hurting and they took care of me. I have the greatest respect and trust in Dr Moss and all of his staff. I have had the best experience, in my 40 years of life, with Emerald West Denistry. I would reccomend them to anyone and everyone.

THE BEST in Boise. I was in a traumatic car accident in 2001 and Dr. Moss helped me with a custom implant and has always addressed all my concerns since. They are so friendly and I love getting my teeth cleaned here. Kelsey and Ellen are fantastic! They are consistently gentle and take their time with you for every visit. I have to say Dr. Hess, Dr. Moss and their team have been awesome to me. I called in asking about some tooth pain, they got me in just a couple days later and I was fixed in an hour. They are so gentle and have never left me in pain or distress. I’ve only experienced hygienists that are kind, careful to not make you bleed, and remember details about you. Their service is top notch. Even if they were out of my dental network, I’d still go here. I was referred by a friend and I recommend it to my other friends. They’re awesome here! 10/10

I would trust any of the hygenists but she is one of my favorites. 7/15: Naomi is still amazing. She takes such great care of my teeth and she is so personable. I love going to see her. Both dentists are wonderful as well. I had a tooth repair due to a chipped tooth and they took care of it quickly, efficiently and with great quality.

Dr. Moss and Dr. Hess run a great dentistry practice. (My wife and I have been there for 11 years now.) An example is yesterday, when they were closing early for Christmas holiday, they were able to get me in with only 2 hours notice, where I needed an emergency crown due to a chipped tooth. They provide great service and staff at all visits, and stand by their work. And, we have familiarity with 5 or more of their hygenists at this point, and all are very personable. The office is state of the art and I would recommend them to anyone.

I moved to Boise a few years ago and found Emerald Dental through a recommendation. I love my dental hygienist Ali, she is professional, gentle, and never makes me feel guilty about not flossing. Dr. Chad Hess took the time to answer all my questions and helped me create a plan for my teeth. The rest of staff is friendly and always there to help. I, like most people, am not a fan of my bi-annual dentist trip. Growing up I had rough experiences in the dentist chair. At no fault of my Dentist.. I just have a high tolerance to novocaine. Which made for some traumatic fillings. Switch to adulthood and finding a dentist that works with my budget (no dental ins) and my availability (mondays). Naomi is my hygienist and she is so fun and personable. She also makes my mouth, not just my teeth, feel 100% cleaner after I see her. Now, I only dread my dentist visit until I walk in the door and get greeted so warmly and brought back with Naomi. Always ask for new patient pricing for your first exam. Oh, Dr. Hess is great too! But as we all know, if everything looks good in there, we don't spend a ton of time with the dentist.
