They are amazing staff up front and in the back where the children go. They always do the best to get all my kids on the same day to make it easier and the appointments are really quick in and out. Great place have never waited more then 10 min before they took my kids back. All of the staff is amazing in the front and in the back. They are a really busy office but never are to busy to answer questions.

We got there on time and I had checked in online so it would go faster. Well we still waited an hour or more before they took the child back and then 30-1 hour more they can put and said they were still waiting on the Dr to get to my child. It’s crazy to schedule so many children on one day when they can’t keep up. They are nice and all but the wait time is ridiculous.

Recommended highly! Staff super nice friendly and they review everything with you. All my experiences here are great. Just the ladies who assist you are blah you know bland as if they don't like their job. That's always been a down side for me with the office. If you work with people you should always be happy with a smile on your face. These are children coming to the dentist who are already afraid so I'd think the receptionist would be more cheerful even if it's fake. I gave five stars because I am a longevity parent with Smile Starter's. All of my children have gone here.I will be wrapping up visits in a year and a half she'll be 18.So thanks for all ya'll do.My child is comfortable not scared that's the atmosphere. So you won't be disappointed.

We just had a lovely first experience at Smile Starters. My daughter is just under 2, and my husband I were able to be with her for the entire experience. I actually held my daughter in my lap (per their request) and the hygienist did the cleaning that way. It was thoughtful and thorough. I’m writing this review, because I was nervous going in, and left with a happy toddler!

The visit today for all four children went really well. My only complaint is the amount of time we were there for X-rays and cleanings. We arrived at 1 and the last child was finally finished at 3:45. Long day

They do pretty good work on the kids teeth, but when I had to take them for braces, they sent me two and a half hours away, but there is one closer to me. But, other than that, I’d recommend this place.

Thank you all so much for being so kind and efficient. My 12 year old hates the dentist and has anxiety about going but when she walked out today she had a smile on her face. She absolutely loved the doctors and assistant’s. She mentioned one assistant staying by her side and patting her leg to help her stay calm and she loved the doctors singing 😂. As we pulled off she said mom can they made me feel so comfortable they didn’t just sit and ask me 100 questions they talked with each other and laughed while including me in the conversation and it made me feel so much more comfortable. She had quite a bit of work done and I wasn’t expecting a good outcome when she came out. I just knew she would cry when she seen me. I love the fact that y’all take them back without parents because as a parent of a sassy girl I know how much they feed off parents and do so much better when we aren’t in sight. Thank you all from the front deck to the back door. Y’all are amazing and definitely made my Mama heart happy.

However, I was disappointed to have to wait about 30 minutes before my son was called back for treatment after having arrived on time. It’s been our experience that this usually happens more frequently for appointments scheduled in the afternoon.

I have 3 kids that all go here. I have only had good experiences. The dentists and the hygienists have all been super friendly and helpful. They answer all of my questions and don't make me feel like an idiot. They are generally always on time and efficient and help to make the littles as comfortable as possible. The overall dental experience was good. However, the front staff absolutely needs training on customer service. To specify, the ones at the very front when you walk in the door. They don’t speak nor greet you when you come in. Even after receiving the message it’s ok to enter the office. (Protocol due to Covid). This isn’t the first time that’s happened. It’s every single time. Smh. The back staff is very helpful and friendly. They explained everything in regards to my daughters treatment thoroughly. The staff on the side scheduling the return appointments are very helpful as well. When you walk in the door, first impressions are everything and very important. They should know that.

I went to this dentist office when I was a child now all my kids go here except for my adult daughter but they take very good care of my children and granddaughter also!!! My kids have been well cared for here and I like the fact that I don’t have to go in the back with them!! They get to be big kids and go on there own!!! Some parents don’t like it but I do!

Really nice office. Wasn’t able to go back with my child BUT there is a window where you can watch them and they know you’re right there. The staff seemed really kind and helpful and made the whole reign of terror that all kids have of going to the dentist, much less traumatic.

Each visit we have been seen quickly and they have been wonderful with my 3.5yr old. Sadly, she needs some work done on her teeth and they have a wonderful service now where she can go to the OR and get everything done instead of be awake and scared then hating the dentist. They are booked up until September for surgery but I am sure it will go great then too! Thank you Smile Starters for everything you have done so far!

This visit was GREAT!! We didn't have to wait long after we checked in, and the procedure didn't take as long as it usually does. We were in and out in under an hour. (We're usually there for at least 2 hours, for the same procedure.)

I took my two grandchildren there today they had an exam. After the exam my grandchildren were very happy with the exam cuz they were not frightened they weren't scared they were not hurt I also got to talk to the ladies after the appointment they walked me through everything they explained it all in total detail what I needed to do and how they were going to help with all the appointments. When I walked into office from the moment I got checked in so the moment I left everything was perfect, the best Kids Dentistry I have ever been to.

The lady who told me at the end how my kids cleanings went was super nice, loved her. However one of my kids told me that lady who did her xrays was not very nice to her so i wasnt happy about that. Overall its an ok place .My kids have never had cavities or problems with their teeth, thank God ,so they are super easy in and out cleanings but the fact that some of the ladies were rude to them I can imagine how rude they might be to the kids who come in with dental issues or who have a hard time just in general with going to the dentist. They definitely need more people like the lady who i spoke with at the end, i wish i could remember her name. Hopefully there are more like her in the back doing the cleanings.

Most everything is good about this place. The actual dentist and dental assistants are awesome they come out and talk to you they inform you in detail of anything unexpected and they are always in a good mood. But their front desk for checking in 8 out of 10 times will be confused as to who I am and what I’m doing there (obviously I’m a parent and I’m bringing my kid into a dentist appointment). The back desk for checking out is just as bad and make you feel like your disturbing them at home or something, as for the other group of employees they are usually laughing and cutting up, talking about their own lives and what not (You can hear everything in the waiting area). Up date front desk/office area has changed I think. They seemed more welcoming and friendlier attitudes. Everything else still good.

This place is top notch, from the start to the end, I have 3 kids and if I ran my own business, I would run it no different. Hands down they have their act together. 3 kids on same day and was out in a little over an hour, and one had teeth to come out. Informative and extremely nice. We will be here till they get too old and kick them out. If you could possibly have a negative thing to say you might need to reflect on yourself. Thank you!

Smile Starters is amazing! They took my daughter as an emergency patient. We live over an hour and half away from the office and this is the only dentist in a 65 mile radius that would see my 8 year old who had broken her tooth and was in pain! The team was so amazing! kas and Dr Milli made my nervous daughter comfortable and fixed her tooth! As of today Smile Starters is. Is our official dentist of record and we will drive an hour and half to visit this amazing team. We are thankful for a practice that truly cares about their patients and not about what insurance the patient has. Thank you Smile Starters! We need more practices like you in Western NC!

I didn’t like the fact that I was not allowed to accompany my two children as it was their first time but they said the staff was nice and they seemed to do fine. The lobby area could use some work as their window of blinds was missing lots of blinds and was unprofessional looking. The windows were dirty and there was visible dirt, fingernails etc on the floor. We will be back anyway.

At our first appointment, I was disappointed that parents were not given the option to go back with little ones. However, kids often follow parents leads on fears and anxiety and my kids have never had an issue with the dentist. After several years with this dentist, I am pleased with the efficiency and care they provide for my children. They often book out pretty far because they stay so busy, but they will work you in for an emergency visit, if needed. I am grateful that they also allow all 5 of my children to be seen in the same day. Asheville really needs more pediatric dentists, and I believe this practice works hard to serve our community.

I felt the staff was extremely professional, kind and caring towards the children in my care. I asked about the restraints after seeing so many reviews mentioning them and for those who don't know, the restraints they use are like a blanket swaddle, and yes they do use them for specific children during specific procedures. What I took from this experience is to ask several questions and do what you feel is best for your child. My ONLY complaint is they did not have much to keep children entertained during the wait for their appointment.

I have gone to them for all five of my children and my oldest is 27. I have never had a bad experience. Sometimes I do have to wait a while, but in the past few years(I still take my twins there, who are 17)it has gotten much better. The staff is always nice and professional. Great place!

If you are vigilant with what your insurance covers the place is pretty good especially now during COVID. They recently changed to a new computer system so if you feel like you are being over charged call your insurance company before making a payment. Note the office manager was really helpful and knowledgeable with the system and suggest speaking to her if you think there is an issue. Nice and friendly folks to deal with, very good dental work.

This office is a great place. The dentists does everything in her power to make the visit pleasant for the children. The staff is remarkable and try their hardest. Please don't listen to all these negative reviews. They see a lot of patients and truly dedicate their time to each case. They are knowledgeable in their techniques and if they inform and get consent from the parent before they perform ANY procedures including the papoose! They truly do care about the community.

Update: Dr. Ray called. She was apologetic & sincere. She didn't have to call me, she just did. I raised my review solely because of her. Worst office ever! Waste of time! Had me wait 45 minutes, just to tell me they couldn't see my child. Do not listen to parents, I told them the special needs my child had before we went in & was assured they could see her, their either didn't care or didn't actually listen, and an entire morning was wasted. Also they lock their bathroom doors, and make you get a key from reception, that's just weird for a children's dental office.

We always wait for a long time to be seen at every visit. The hygeinist who did our sons cleaning is great with kids and made them feel safe and have a good experience but I can't remember her name. I scheduled a special appointment for my son with special needs because his teeth all of a sudden started changing colors pretty much overnight and we were concerned so we took him there for an appt. We waited over an hour to be seen and when I went and asked the receptionist why it was taking so long she said well other patients have priority over him even though their appts were scheduled after his . This didn't make any sense to me and they didn't take my son having to wait way longer than other patients into consideration and he is only 2 1/2. Also I never got to talk to a dentist about his teeth. They didn't have an answer and sent him home without any further advice. Other places take Medicaid. We are going to a different pediatric dentist this next visit.

I never had an issue before, sometimes the stuff members are not the friendly ones but, today 08/26/2020 something extra happened, they texted me and I quote "Thank you. You are checked in for your appointment. A team member will contact you shortly. At 3:00 pm, 3:15 another family went in and I went in right after her, I was following the rules and waited outside, until I saw this family going in, and they went inside to checked in, they served them first, I was supposedly checked in under their rules and nobody came, when I said what was happening to the girls they ignored me completely!! What a shame she didn't even pretend that she was listening to what I was saying and cut me off with a Thank you, in the middle of my concern about the text message system not working properly.
