By far the best dentist experience I have had. Have been to a few different ones since moving to Asheville and first visit here I knew I’d be staying with them, even though my insurance wasn’t accepted. Decided to get their yearly plan instead which was super affordable. The energy is always positive and even with 6 months between cleanings it’s like you walk in and just saw them yesterday, they really show they care and make you feel welcome. And on top of that do an amazing job! 10/10 recommend.

I had a new patient consult and cleaning today at Laurelwood and it was a great experience. My dental hygienist, Anna, was super kind and good at explaining everything. The dentist was friendly, all were respectful of my time, and I will definitely go back. I would recommend!

Dr. Ertl and his staff are amazing and very friendly. The front desk, dental assistant, dental hygienist, and Dr. Ertl all greeted me with a smile and made me feel comfortable. I walked in their office a little nervous and they put all of my fears to rest by answering my questions and providing solutions. I wish I could remember the lady’s name that cleaned my teeth because she’s the best hygienist I’ve ever had in my life. Not only was she very gentle and empathetic, she was very excited to clean my teeth and I could tell she loves her job. That made me feel really good, and because she loved it so much, she was thorough with everything she did and she didn’t appear to be rushed. I hope I get her every time. I highly recommend them if anyone is considering.

After spending 6 hours in the chair two days in a row to get two crowns fitted, I can confidently say that Laurelwood is the best dentist experience in WNC (maybe the state). The staff is knowledgable, friendly and highly collaborative. I've always had very unhealthy teeth (from poor dental hygiene) so the dentist has historically been a place of shame and stress for me. Dr. Ertl, Sabreena, Adyla and the front desk staff have all made me feel well-taken care of and comfortable during my cleanings and procedures and armed me with better dental hygiene practices from which I've already seen positive results over the past year. Laurelwood family dentistry is amazing! I've been going there for many years and have never had an unpleasant experience. Their staff is top notch...very friendly, professional. I switched to laurelwood many years ago after my previous dentist started suggesting that I have a bunch of fillings...even though i was having no trouble with any of my teeth. Well, it turns out that none of the teeth needed fillings after all!!! So, a big thank you to Matt and his team for being honest professionals who, I feel, are genuinely determined to provide the absolute best dental care possible for their patients. My teeth are still fully intact thanks to you! I also wanted to add...after reading through some of the other reviews, I honestly have to wonder if some of the people actually went to laurelwood family dentistry. Perhaps they are confusing laurelwood with another business? I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone!!!

I absolutely love Dr. Ertl! Me and family are patients. He is always so patient and detailed. I've seen almost all of the hygienist and they are just as wonderful. They are always smiling and informative. Liz at the front desk is always smiling and helpful. The guy at the front seem a little unhappy or just have a dry personality. (I don't recall his name) But overall I love this place.

We have a second home in the area, and I was looking for a dentist that accepted my insurance. With dozens of options, I started to call from top of the list down for one with an available appointment that week. From the very first call with Liz, the receptionist, it was warm and welcoming. Liz got me in with minimal notice and every step of the way was smooth sailing. I hadn’t been to a dentist in a few years and had a lot of hesitancy, but the team made me feel very comfortable. The office is comfortable, and nicely designed. Latoya was my hygienist and she was a star! Her warm, friendly personality made me feel as though a friend was in charge, and eased my usual dental anxiety. The Doctor is very professional and nice, and knew his stuff. This is a busy office but makes you feel as though you are very important and special. 5 stars!!! Thank you, Laurelwood.

Upon making an appointment, Bobby was prompt in following up with me regarding some insurance stuff and outlined everything I needed to know before I got there. I arrived a little early and they were able to bring me inside immediately. Liz at the front desk was very nice. Gloria, the dental assistant, was very sweet. They explained what I was seeing in my teeth photos/x-rays, which was very informative and helpful. Dr. Ertle was very nice too and eager to address any concerns I had. They have been my dentist’s office for a few years and I highly recommend. I have had old chipped veneers replaced here while I was on their in-office plan as a self-employed entrepreneur. It was the best deal in the area for the year plan which covered my exams and cleanings, and they have always treated me well. The additional services of veneer replacement came with a 10-15% discount off since I was on their plan. When you don’t have dental coverage through health insurance, this was a huge relief and made it more affordable. Also, Latoya has been my hygienist for cleanings and I highly recommend her. I have always had sensitive teeth and gums, and used to dread going for cleanings before. Latoya is so kind and sensitive to my needs and gives me great care and hygiene tips, while also being gentle on me. I actually look forward to going twice a year now for my cleanings. All in all, you can tell Dr. Ertl runs a smooth and efficient practice there. They are very professional across the board, and you can tell that he and his team really care about their patients. :)

This is a great dental office! You feel like you are part of the Laurelwood family as soon as you are greeted upon walking in by the front desk. Always the latest technology, which saves time, money and is amazing, to boot - I needed a crown, he was able to 3D print it perfectly and put it in during the same appointment! Liz in particular is very knowledgeable on the insurance side and clarified my coverage when it was confusing to me. The place is clean. The equipment looks modern. My dental hygienist, Latoya, was very nice and did a fantastic job. I'm dropping a star because the price I was quoted for two crowns is far more expensive than what other dental providers in the area charge. I was able to get the same work done for a much more reasonable price elsewhere. I won't be back and recommend that you price check with other dental providers before you get overcharged at this office.

They helped me ease back into oral care, managed 1 problem tooth I had, and have slowly gotten me back into a good routine with my personal habits. I had a good experience. I thought everyone in the office was very competent and kind. The office even called my insurance company to find out the details of my plan before I went in, and then sat me down after my appointment to review and explain to me what it would cover. My waiting period on my insurance isn't over, so I decided not to get my work done until then, which they were very understanding. The dental hygienist was really thorough and knowledgeable. My only complaint would be that my appointment didn't start right on time and I had to wait a bit for the dentist to get to me. I plan on going back.

Dr. Ertl and his staff are amazing. The facility is very nice, it appears new and the rooms are very, very clean and free of clutter. When I first arrived, the front desk person was so cheery and helpful. The hygienist was very gentle when she cleaned my teeth, she explained every step of the process before doing anything. They have got a lot of new technology, and really big screens that they show you your x-rays on. When Dr. Ertl came in, he gave me the most thorough exam I've ever had. He looked at everything in my mouth not just my teeth as my previous dentist only did. I don't think I've ever had a dentist talk to me about what I need for that long before! It's nice to feel good about having a competent, trustworthy dentist to go to… finally.

The in house office plan is easy and affordable especially when you have no dental insurance. Overall a friendly office, very clean and never more than a 10 min wait in lobby or chair

I live almost 200 miles away from Asheville yet I travel twice a year to Laurelwood Family Dentistry as my primacy care dentist. Yes, they are that good! Compassionate hygienists are a must and I've had good experiences at Laurelwood. Equipment is modern which also was a must-have for me. I need a few things done and Dr. Ertl and his staff make suggestions. No pressure ever to do something expensive or not necessary. Dr. Ertl clearly knows what he is doing and makes procedures as comfortable as possible. I love this dentist and will continue to travel to them for preventive and necessary dental care.

Dr. Ertl is honestly the best dentist I have ever had. He and his staff are polite and professional. His staff is knowledgeable and they do their best to make sure I'm comfortable and taken care of. They even put on cartoons for my kids when I bring them in. I began having dental issues a few years ago that had gone undiagnosed. Dr. Ertl identified the problem immediately and he and his hygienists have been helping me through. I had an old filling go bad on me - cracked my tooth. Initially I was told I needed a crown, but once Dr. Ertl got in there he told me we could do an inlay to preserve as much of the original tooth as possible (and save some $$$). They were able to complete the work in one visit with the most advanced equipment I'd ever seen in a dental office, explaining and showing me what they were doing each step of the way. They also work well with my insurance company to get my bills taken care of.

Update 2: I must say, I am amazed at what this office did for me. It's taken a long while for implants to heal and preliminary work to be completed, but Dr. Ertl and his team have now replaced my 6 front-most top teeth with brand new crowns that look 100% natural, like they grew right out of my skull. I coloration and shape of each tooth is absolutely true to life in every way. This work is SO impressive I can hardly believe it. In the interim, I hog to know all of the staff at his office, and I must add that I am thoroughly impressed with each of them ... their dedication and love for their work their unending perfectionism, and their friendliness! I highly recommend this team to ANYONE who's looking to have any amount of dental work done! =========================================================== Update: Well, Dr. Ertl has now completed two of my crowns, and one for my wife. I must say, this man is an artist! I have never in my life had crowns produced for me that fit, right out-of-the-box ... and I have had MANY crowns made. I am not changing my earlier 5-start review ... only wish I could add another for the fine work this office turns out. Kudos, to this entire office! I had an appointment today to create restorative crowns on two front lower teeth. This followed reverse root canal to cure an infection beneath the two older crowns which was performed by an Endodontist that Dr. Ertl referred me. I had no idea that I had the infection.
