Great group of folks. The dental work I needed was somewhat urgent (an old inlay from another dentist had fallen out); Gillespie got me in the same day I called, and was able to quickly fit and restore the original inlay, saving me quite a bit of money vs. having to get a new one. I had a GREAT experience with the hygienist (Mary Pearson). She was knowledgable, personable and efficient. Great at her job. I also had a positive experience with the dentist. She was frank, kind and not pushy with her suggestions. My only concern was the cost - about $500 for a two hour appointment (cleaning, x-rays and photos, etc). I know all things have gotten more expensive but was still surprised by that. The x-rays and photos were over $300. I'll still go back, but I'm a bit saddened by this trend among dentists. The last dental practice I went to (Zoe) was also very expensive.

I have been going to Gillespie Dental Associates for about three years. I see Dr. Haldeman and she is incredible! I have had a variety of procedures done all of which she did an immaculate job on. All of the staff from the admin/reception to the dental hygienists and dentists are wonderful. Speaking of the reception and admin staff being great, I don't think I have ever called up there and gotten voicemail - not once. Any time I have a question about records or payment they are extremely helpful and more over it seems like everyone in the office just has a great attitude. The reviews seem to good to be true, but they aren't - they are really just this good. Sadly, I moved to East Tennessee - but if I am ever back in Asheville, I will be back!

Very Good. Mary took a lot of time with me and apparently I need a lot of work :( So I will be back. Everyone in the office was very nice and I feel like they cared about me and my health. I would very much recommend. Things seem to be a bit pricey but post covid that seems to be a thing. So I am just thankful they will see me and care about my teeth.

This was my first dental appointment in over nine years. Nine years ago I had a dental implant installed. The doctor that installed the implant and my dentist at that time were unable to place a cap to the implant that would stay in space. During this visit, the hygienist took many pictures and x-rays. The dental physician studied these and told me the reason the cap would not remain in place and said she could solve the issue. Everyone was very kind and understanding. I am looking forward to having this problem resolved.

SNAPSHOT = details below - the right dental care is so important! At the high end of local price range but how much is oral health worth to you? This practice coninues to grow in number of employees and also by continuing advances in technology and processes employed. For years, this practice has focused on holistic oral health with a keen eye toward its impact on overall health. Bathroom is always immaculate. NOTE = Very capable treatment of diabetic patients. I am a 20+ year patient at this practice. Only this year has anyone pounded the table to insist on a needed procedure! Love these folks. Fantastic practice!

Dr GIllespie and staff are the most professional, thorough and well equipped office I've ever experienced! Their diagnostic equipment i state of the art and found issues a previous dentist office could not see. I used to have a lot of anxiety around going to Dentist's offices - to be fair, it's still not my favorite thing to do but Dr Gillespie is so affable and obviously competent it's kind of a pleasure now. He has a GREAT staff that are kind, caring, follow up with your after care and have excruciatingly high standards for hygiene. If you're looking (and can make it into their schedule - they are understandably very busy) for a dentist, this is your place.

The pandemic hit, like everything stopped, so I wondered if I’d ever go to the dentist again. But eventually Gillespie Dental Associates started opening up again, and they let me know I could come in, so I made my appointment. Everything was set up beautifully, all according to the guidelines. Doreen came out to the car to get me, checked my temperature, and showed me through the new procedure. I felt very comfortable and safe. The cleaning and my checkup by Dr. Peterson were done to the highest standardsthat hasn’t changed over the years I’ve been going there. After months of lockdown, social distancing, and the rest of it, I was really glad to be able to go and see everyone at Dr. Gillespie's in an environment that felt safe.

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience this morning with Mary Kathleen, Dr. Haldeman and Irene! I have a rare facial nerve condition called trigeminal neuralgia which causes sharp, electric pains from things as little as the weight of my glasses or putting on makeup. Needless to say, going to the dentist isn't something I generally look forward to! Not only was Mary Kathleen familiar with my condition, she was unbelievably gentle (but still cleaned the heck out of those gums!) and constantly checked to make sure I was feeling okay to move forward. She was incredibly friendly and it was a genuinely enjoyable experience to laugh with her for a few hours. The office was exceptionally clean and they clearly make COVID precautions a number one priority. I am thrilled to have found a wonderful new dentist and I am actually looking forward to my next visit. I highly, highly recommend Gillespie Dental!

I visited Dr. Gillespie on Thursday, April 8 to have 5 temporary fillings from the endodontist replaced with permanent fillings. The safety (COVID) protocol was excellent and Dr. Gillespie's skill level was even better. After a careful preparation by his assistant, Dr. Gillespie came in, carefully reviewed the needed treatment and professionally and somewhat effortlessly replaced the fillings perfectly in about 30 minutes. This visit was visual exam, x-rays, evaluation and setting up my treatment plan. When I left I had all my questions answered and feel confident that this practice is a good fit for me. If anything changes re my thoughts in this review I’ll update it at that time. well 3 months have passed and I want to share about an amazing experience I had at Gillespie Dental Associates today. It began late last week when I was seen or a tooth ache. Dr. Plaisted examined by mouth and told me a needed a root canal. I asked how she knew and she explained her diagnostic process. I agreed to get the root canal. Last one I had was elsewhere and many years ago and involved 3 painful visits. Today in less than 2 hours Dr. Plaisted performed a total root canal. No pain, even now that the numbing medication has worn off. She had a great attitude, put me at ease, was thorough in her explanations and gentle. Once again I am a pleased patient of Gillespie Dental Associates and recommend them and Dr. Plaisted.

I love the whole team at Dr. Gillespie’s. I Never a bad experience, however due to the high cost of a cleaning, both my husband and I have had to reconsider their services. My husbands last visit was just short of $300 and when I called to question what my upcoming appointment would cost me I was informed just under $400. In reality, regardless of what they call the cleaning.... it’s just a cleaning and in no universe worth that kind of money. Very disappointing.

They went out of their way to fit me in at the earliest non-emergency appt, checked back with me to be sure I wasn't in emergency mode. Their website made it very easy to give them history online, so when I showed up they assessed the problem and went directly about fixing it, no fooling around. What impressed me the most was the extra care given by Wendy the Assistant and Dr Peterson to my comfort and pain management. I've been to a lot of dentists in my life, but these folks are the absolute best, ever!

The hygienist (Doreen) was thorough and interested in making the experience painless and interesting. We had a nice two-way conversation throughout the exam. Due to a childhood accident, I have a rich and complex dental history, so switching dentists can be extremely trying. I’ve seen more oral and dental specialists than I can name, and havehad more procedures than I can count. Even a simple teeth cleaning, in my case, requires studying my chart and asking a number of questions. I’m sure I’m an exhausting patient. The doctors and hygenists at Gillespie Dental Associates have been extremely knowledgeable and kind during my visits. My TMJD can make working on me a chore, but unlike many dentists I have seen, they are understanding of when I need to take a break. I honestly was ashamed and afraid to visit a dentist after one dentist in the Asheville area blatantly told me "there is no hope for you" cancelled my appointments and would not return my calls. I got to the point where in a professional job I felt out of place. I just happened to notice Dr. Gillespies office and my girlfriend forced me to go (best decision ever). My initial visit went very well, honestly it didnt feel like a visit to the dentist...no judgement, no nasty looks, no feeling of being helpless. Instead I was greated at the desk by an upbeat and young laid back girl I would guess was my age, next I met with an assistant who kept me engaged in conversation about hiking and seemef to be genuinely interested in getting to know me. Enter Dr. Peterson , im expecting an old man who i could not connect with, little do i know in walks a young woman who greeted me with a smile and explained everything to me in a calm voice and respectful tone. Upon leaving i met another lady at the desk with a headset who handled the payment portion without me feeling like im just handing over my hard earned money. My next visit I met Cindy whom is over the financial aspect of things. Cindy was very professional and worked well with me every time i needed anything. Next the work began to fix my smile. Each assistant I had dis a very good job of distracting me from the pain, engaging me in conversation, I wasnt just another patient to them. Fast forward a year and my smile is fixed! I dont have to hide my laughs, worry about people staring, and come to find out a lot if people never noticed. What really made me feel important was every assistnat that had worked with me through every asked to come in the room on my most recent visit, eager to see the result and the new me. I am very happy to say that my family will forever go to Dr. Gillespies office for any dental care needs. I apologize for the length if this but there is so much more that I could say but the most important thing I can say is THIS IS THE BEST DENTAL GROUP EVER!!
