I had my very first appointment here yesterday, and I am in awe of how incredible all the ladies are here. I have had many bad experiences with dentists, but it was such a pleasure to be seen here. From the moment I walked in Lauren at the front desk made me feel right at home. Brie was so easy to talk to, she helped put my mind at ease while I waited to be seen. Tonya walked me through my upcoming dental procedures and really made me feel as though she actually cared, she was very genuine and informative. Though I've yet to have any dental work done by Dr. Merrel I feel very confident and comfortable that she will be an amazing dentist! So incredibly glad I chose to make an appointment here, you ladies were such a pleasure to meet.

Dr. Merrell is exceptional, and she is the first female dentist I've ever had. I am on their dental plan which includes one emergency visit. Dr. Merrell works emergency patients into her schedule. If you end up having to wait an extra 20, 30, or 40 minutes, it means she may have an emergency she's working on. I have fun every time I'm there and am glad she accepted me as a new patient.

These are the nicest folks. I have terrible chronic pain issues and they go out of their way to accommodate me. They get me in and out quickly when I need it; they’re highly skilled; they have all the latest technology that makes parts and pieces quickly, and their prices are reasonable. I’ve come to trust them completely. Both Rebekkah and Lauren, dentist and tech who worked on me, have really good hands. I’ve had a bunch of work done on my poor mouth, and they’re some of the best. They’re gentle and quick. And every chair has a big window, so you can see outside. Never thought I’d write a review for a dentist, but Asheville Smiles has my highest recommendation. These are good folks who care, they tell the truth, and don’t try to upsell you. And they do great work. I appreciate their kind, competent care. I bet you will, too!

Many moons ago I received a upper and lower dentures. The fit was awful. I could not eat with them and the lower had so much metal in it I could not talk in a normal voice. Dr. Merrill urged me to try again and I am glad she did so. The new dentures could not be better. I can eat just about anything and with my new smile I am not embarrassed to show it. I had a great experience getting an appointment after my dog chewed up my night guard. I was given a referral for care credit to help cover my fees since this appliance was not covered by my health or dental insurance. The staff were friendly, helpful and positive. Everyone was wearing masks (hygienist wore two!) and they followed excellent health and safety protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic. My last experience with Dr. Nicolls was to determine the cause of some discomfort I was having in a tooth. She was able to work me in quickly to her schedule, had one of her dental assistants take two x-rays and perform some tests, consulted with me about the results and the action that needed to be taken. It all was done is such an efficient, calm, and reassuring manner. I have seen Dr. Nicolls for nearly 20 years and have had the same treatment consistently. I haven’t been to a dentist in a while and this was my favorite visit that I’ve ever had to the dentist. I don’t look forward to going but I will in the future. I highly recommend.

They put me completely at ease re: seeing the dentist during the pandemic. Everyone wore masks, and the hygienist and doctor wore N95s. They wipe down everything with disinfectants in a very thorough manner. As always, very professional. Morgan did a great job cleaning my teeth.

This is my second visit where nothing was submitted to my insurance company. Both times I've had to call my insurance company to see why my reimbursement was taking so long, and both times the Blue Cross Blue Shield told me a claim was never sent by the dentist office. I've been going to this location for over 10 years and have never had this happen until the past year. Pretty disappointing and time consuming. Hopefully they can resolve this issue.
